Aviation Insurance: Passengers and Third Parties on the Surface.

Vaicoussis, Constantine G. January 1954 (has links)
Compulsory insurance to cover the carrier's liability in air transportation has been debated for a number of years. Notwithstanding the fact that the various international conferences have not, as yet, arrived at a definite decision, the discussion upon the subject matter is by no means closed.

Právní aspekty provozu bezpilotních letadel (UAV) / Legal aspects of operation of unmanned aerial vehicles

Dubeň, Roman January 2017 (has links)
Unmanned aircrafts represent one of the fastest growing technologies of the last years. Although historically not completely unknown, only recently have they acquired the long-deserved attention. However, it focuses almost exclusively on their use in combat operations, whereas their capabilities in civilian sphere remain relatively unexplored. Analysis of these abilities is the main focus of this thesis, which describes and analyses current applicable legislation, points out different issues of both its interpretation and application and tries to offer solutions. This thesis is divided into 4 chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the introduction to this topic, including history of unmanned aircrafts and clarification of the term unmanned aircraft itself. Then it moves on to describe the possible classification of unmanned aircrafts and the terminology used, which remains unsettled even to this day. The main aim of this is to try to help the reader to find his way in this complicated area. The second chapter includes the analysis of the applicable legislation in the Czech republic, starting with the general approach and then continuing with special emphasis on particular issues, such as operating limitations of unmanned aircrafts in certain areas or liability of aircraft operators...

Indigeneity in the Air: The Highs and Lows of Asserting Tribal Airspace Sovereignty

January 2019 (has links)
abstract: Advancements in marine and aerospace technology drive legal reform in admiralty and air law. The increased accessibility and affordability of these technologies demand and motivate lawmakers and federal agencies to anticipate potential threats to peoples’ rights and resources in the seas and skies. Given the recent applications of unmanned aircraft in the public and private sectors, developments in aircraft and air law are rapidly becoming more relevant to American Indian and Alaska Native tribes. In anticipation of legal reform, tribal nations are taking steps to assert, expand, and secure their air rights before agencies or the courts attempt to divest their sovereign authority. An analysis of two case studies through a lens of water and federal Indian law locates spaces in American jurisprudence that have the legal foundation and structural capacity to support a greater presence of Indigeneity in airspace. Research findings from these studies answer the following inquiries about tribal airspace sovereignty: where does Indigeneity reside in the US national airspace system and domestic air law, how are tribal air rights strengthened or weakened by American jurisprudence, what strategies do tribes employ to exercise their sovereignty in airspace, and how are tribes planning for future developments in aircraft and air law? Answers lead to proof of how meaningful consultation through collaborative rulemaking produces far greater mutual benefits than burdens for federal agencies and tribes, and much more. Most importantly, these discoveries celebrate a diverse and accumulative strategic legacy of strengthening and expanding tribal sovereignty in the face of imminent threats and possibilities in tribal airspace. / Dissertation/Thesis / Masters Thesis American Indian Studies 2019

Návrhová studie letiště VFR / Design Study of VFR Airport

Brandejský, Petr January 2010 (has links)
The final master´s thesis targets to create concept study of VFR airport. This airport should be build up in southeast part of Czech republic, in the vicinity of the town Valašské Klobouky. In this work there are explained essential terms and definitions refered to basic rules and law. There are explained also civil aviation law and requirements of L14 regulations. Aeroclub is submitter of this work. It establishes basic conditions for airport area searching. The length of the runway is influenced mainly by performance of used aircrafts. It was impossible to find any acceptable field in searched area. There is a posibility how to solve this problem. There can be build up a runway for take-off and landings of small aeroplanes. In the second part of this thesis there are defined basic requirements on these fields. These requirements are applicated on chosen field. At the end of this thesis there is propounded an option how to dislocate runway, taxiways, aprons, hangars and other buildings.

Les mesures correctives des émissions aériennes de gaz à effet de serre : Contribution à l'étude des interactions entre les ordres juridiques en droit international public / A Corrective Approach to Reduce Aircraft Greenhouse Gas Emissions : Contribution to the Study of Interactions between Legal Orders of International Law

Leclerc, Thomas 16 November 2017 (has links)
Looking for a global and corrective measure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions frominternational civil aviation has been facing legal obstacles. These obstacles took the form ofconflicts of norms linked to the general challenge of the interactions between international aviationlaw, climate change law and the law of the European Union. Using evolutionary interpretation ofthe Chicago Convention in order to reconcile norms of substantive and institutional nature emergedas the best solution. However, this method perpetuates legal uncertainty and poses the generalchallenge of flexibly and elasticity of the Chicago Convention in response to the climate changechallenge. This study examines the above mentioned issues of interactions between legal ordersand provides recommendations to restore legal certainty needed to ensure sustainable developmentof international civil aviation. More specifically, this study reveals the underestimated relevance ofthe ongoing distinction between the legal regimes of air navigation and air transport, which is a keylegal element in the search for a global and corrective solution to the impact of international civilaviation on climate change.

L’Union européenne et l’ordre international de l’aviation civile : la contribution de l'Union européenne aux évolutions contemporaines du droit aérien international / The European Union and International Civil Aviation : the contribution of the European Union to modern developments in International Aviation Law

Correia, Vincent 10 December 2012 (has links)
The way in which the Member States have redefined the conditions regarding how they exercise their air sovereignty, by progressively transferring power to the European Union, cannot be viewed solely as them removing and reducing their individual powers. The powers conferred to the European Union in aviation matters are resulting in an affirmation of the international role of Europe as a whole. This on-going, and as yet incomplete process, may be seen in a greater recognition of the specific European aspect regarding Civil Aviation. In spite of the hesitance of Member States and non-member States, the European Union has progressively taken its place among the key players, able to influence developments in modern aviation law, in the same way as other established aviation authorities and especially the United States. These new trends reveal the flexibility and elasticity of the Chicago Convention and the potential future developments in International Civil Aviation.
