Having the skill to work with Version Control Systems (VCS) is an important aspect of most software development projects in the industry. But students may lack the knowledge on how to use it. By applying requirements on first year students of the Computer Science programme at KTH, this thesis aims to examine if that is enough to improve their VCS behaviour. This can be examined by applying requirements and then examining the metadata from GitHub. The results from this thesis show that the students committed a bit more when requirements were applied, but that the best way to get the students to commit more is to give them the knowledge on how to have a good commit behaviour. This is in line with previous research in the same area. / Versionshanteringssystem är ett viktigt verktyg i de flesta mjukvaruprojekt. Därför är det också en nödvändig kunskap att kunna arbeta med dem. Trots det så kan många datateknikstudenter sakna dessa kunskaper i hur man använder versionshantering optimalt. Därför ämnar detta arbete att undersöka om det är möjligt att förbättra förstaårsstudenterna på civilingenjörsprogrammet med inriktning datateknik på KTHs commitvanor genom att ställa krav på dem om ett minst antal commits per vecka. Krav kan ställas och sen är det möjligt att använda metadatan från GitHub för att besvara frågeställningen. Resultaten från detta arbete visar att även om studenterna committade lite mer med bara kraven, så var det framförallt efter att de fått kunskaper om bra commitbeteenden som de också förbättrade sitt eget beteende. Detta stämmer väl överens med tidigare forskning på området.

Arbetet syftade till att finna en passande modell för Moraberg AB:s beställningsrutiner för två färskvaror av anledning att optimera lagernivåer och minska matsvinn. Då efterfrågan hos Moraberg AB var okänd togs en modell fram för att prediktera och undersöka ifall det fanns ett linjärt samband mellan ett par parametrar och efterfrågan. Parametrarna som undersöktes var veckodag, temperatur, nederbörd och antal smittade personer i Covid-­19. Modellen baserades på historisk försäljningsdata för åren 2018– 2020. Två efterfrågemodeller togs fram, den första modellen innehöll alla nämnda parametrar förutom antal smittade personer i Covid­-19 och den andra modellen innehöll alla parametrar. Resultatet visade att temperatur, nederbörd och antal smittade personer i Covid­-19 har ett svagt beroende med efterfrågan hos företaget men parametern veckodag visade ett högt beroende med efterfrågan. Analys av modellerna visade att det inte existerade multikollinearitet samt att de inte bröt de fem antagandena om regression. Vidare visade resultatet att modell 2 presterade bättre än modell 1. Lageroptimeringsmodellen som var lämpligast för Moraberg AB, med avseende på de resurser och begräsningar som fanns inom ramen av detta arbete, var den deterministiska periodiska inspektions modellen som kan lösas med dynamisk programmering. Ett numeriskt exempel genomfördes på den valda lageroptimeringsmodellen med hjälp av modell 2. Det numeriska exemplet baserades på prognoser från vecka 17 år 2021. / This thesis aimed to find a suitable inventory model for Moraberg AB’s ordering routines to optimize inventory levels and reduce food waste for two perishable products. As the demand at Moraberg AB was unknown, a regression model was developed to predict and investigate whether there was a linear relationship between a few parameters and the demand. The parameters examined were weekday, temperature, precipitation, and number of infected people in Covid­19. The model was based on historical sales data for the years 2018–2020. Two demand models were developed, the first model contained all the mentioned parameters except the number of people infected in Covid-­19 and the second model contained all parameters.  The results showed that temperature, precipitation, and number of people infected in Covid­-19 have a weak dependence with the demand, however the parameter weekday showed a dependence with the demand. Analysis of the two models did not show any signs of multicollinearity and they did not violate the five assumptions regarding regression. Furthermore, the results showed that model 2 performed better than model 1.  The inventory model that was most suitable for Moraberg AB, regarding the resources and limitations that existed within the framework of this thesis, was the deterministic periodic ­review model that could be solved by dynamic programming. A numerical example was solved using the suitable inventory model and with the second demand model. The numerical example was based on forecasts from week 17 year 2021.

Sustainability has become a strategic and high priority focus area in today’s society. Responsible Business is an important part of the work towards a sustainable society, and Telia Company is one of the companies that actively works to take that responsibility. What is important when it comes to sustainability work in organizations is to look at a longer perspective than just the internal organization. Telia Company has a complex network of suppliers that extend around the world and influencing their sustainabilitywork is therefore critical in order to be able to take that responsibility.This qualitative study was carried out in collaboration with Telia Company with theaim of investigating how the company’s sustainability work in the supply chain can be developed with a code of conduct for suppliers. Today, Telia Company has a process for responsible sourcing where one of the cornerstones is their Supplier Code of Conduct document with requirements agreed and signed by suppliers and followed up by Telia Company continuously. The study’s questions were answered by performing mainly two analyzes. The first analysis is an Industry Peer Benchmarking. Based on the analysis of their sustainability processes within the supply chain, the results show that Telia Company in comparison has good and responsible sustainability work in place in its operations to manage risks in the supply chain. In the second part, an analysis is performed on a selection of Telia Company’s customers to examine how the company meets their set sustainability requirements. The results show that the company meets customers’ requirements in an overall way and that requirements are also in place to pass on these expectations to subcontractors. Previous research and studies also show a paradigm shift where digitalization and new trends are growing in society and affecting customers’ awareness. Accordingly, the measures that is proposed to Telia Company for further development of its supplier requirements are to perform trend analysis and market analysis continuously to meet the stakeholders’ requirements both today and inthe future. / Hållbarhet har blivit en strategisk och högt prioriterad fråga i dagens samhälle. Ansvarsfullt företagande är en viktig del i arbetet mot ett hållbart samhälle, och Telia Company är ett av de företagen som aktivt arbetar med att ta det ansvaret. Det som är viktigt vad gäller hållbarhetsarbete i organisationer är att se till ett längre perspektiv än enbart den interna organisationen. Telia Company har ett komplext nät av leverantörer som sträcker sig världen över, och att påverka deras hållbarhetsarbete är därför kritiskt för att kunna ta sitt ansvar. Denna kvalitativa studie utfördes i samarbete med Telia Company med syftet att undersöka hur bolagets hållbarhetsarbete i försörjningskedjan kan utvecklas med en uppförandekod för leverantörer. Idag har Telia Company en process för ansvarsfulla inköp där en av byggstenarna är deras Supplier Code of Conduct dokument med krav som godkänns och skrivs under av leverantörer och följs upp kontinuerligt av Telia Company. Studiens frågeställningar besvarades genom utförandet av huvudsakligen två analyser. Den första analysen är en Industry Peer Benchmarking. Utifrån analysen av deras hållbarhetsprocesser inom försörjningskedjan visar resultatet att Telia Company i jämförelse har ett bra och ansvarsfullt hållbarhetsarbete på plats i sin verksamhet för att hantera risker i leverantörskedjan. I den andra delen utförs en analys på ett urval av Telia Company’s kunder för att undersöka hur bolaget uppfyller deras ställda hållbarhetskrav. Resultatet visar att bolaget möter kundernas krav på ett övergripande sätt och att krav även finns på plats för att föra vidare dessa förväntningar till underleverantörer. Tidigare studier visar även ett paradigmskifte där digitalisering och nya trender växer i samhället och påverkar kundernas medvetenhet. De åtgärder som därför föreslås till Telia Company för vidareutveckling av sina leverantörskrav är att utföra trendanalyser och marknadsanalyser kontinuerligt för att möta intressenternas krav både idag och i framtiden.

Sports cars need efficient brake cooling as they shall perform well during hard driving conditions, like for example race track driving. Most sports cars use ducts that capture ambient airflow and directs this flow over the brakes to improve the cooling. This project was conducted in cooperation with Koenigsegg Automotive AB and aims to develop more efficient brake cooling ducts for their cars.  Computational Fluid Dynamics was used to analyse the convective cooling of the brake disc and the pads. First was the cooling with the previously used ducts analysed in order to establish a reference.  Then new concepts were created, analysed and developed in an iterative process.  A design is proposed, which have the inlet in the centre of the wheel axle and that directs the air through radial channels to the brake disc. The simulations indicate that the proposed design results in 14% higher heat transfer rate compared to the previously used cooling solution.   In addition to the cooling ducts, some passive cooling devices were also simulated. Simulations with these in combination with the proposed design, indicate up to 25% increase in heat transfer rate, but this cannot be fully confirmed due to limitations in the simulation model. / Sportbilar behöver effektiv bromskylning eftersom de ska prestera väl under hårda körförhållanden, som till exempel bankörning. De flesta sportbilar använder kanaler som fångar omgivande luftflöde och riktar detta flöde över bromsarna för att förbättra kylningen.  Detta projekt genomfördes i samarbete med Koenigsegg Automotive AB och syftar till att utveckla effektivare bromskylkanaler till deras bilar. Computational Fluid Dynamics användes för att analysera den konvektiva kylningen av bromsskivan och bromsbeläggen.  Först analyserades kylningen med den tidigare använda bromskylkanalen i syfte att skapa en referens. Sedan skapades nya koncept som analyserades och utvecklades i en iterativ process.  En konstruktion föreslås, som har inloppet i centrum av hjulaxeln och som sedan styr luften genom radiella kanaler till bromsskivan. Simuleringarna indikerar att den föreslagna konstruktionen resulterar i 14% högre värmeöverföringshastighet än den tidigare använda bromskylningslösningen.  Förutom kylkanalerna har några passiva kylanordningar också simulerats.  Simuleringar med dessa i kombination med den föreslagna konstruktionen, indikerar upp till 25% ökning av värmeöverföringshastigheten, men detta kan inte helt bekräftas på grund av begränsningar i den använda simuleringsmodellen.

Den här rapporten behandlar ett utvecklingsprojekt med mål att framställa ett designförslag på utformingen av ett måttdefinerat lastutrymme. Detta sker inom ramen av ett examensarbete, omfattande 22,5 hp, som en del i högskoleingenjörsprogrammet inom innovationsteknik och design på Karlstads universitet. Uppdragsgivare är Martin Larsson, vd på Precer Autotech, ett företag som utvecklar en ny typ av hybridfordon som drivs av fastbränslen. Detta fordon har dimensionerna av en normalstor personbil, men klassas som en motorcykel, eller fyrhjuling. I och med detta har fordonet i fråga speciella faktorer att förhålla sig till när det gäller bl.a. förhållandet mellan vikt och storlek. Utvecklingen av lastutrymmet är ett projekt som är med och utvecklar en grund för det framtida konceptfordon som utav Precer Autotech ska utvecklas. Den industriella designprocessen har genomsyrat projektet och metoder tillhörande denna process har betonats. Metoder såsom användningen av en fullskalig mock-up har gett detta projekt en särprägel. Från idégenereringar till konceptutvecklingar har projektet använt sig av metoder och tillvägagångssätt vilka betonats i projektansvariges universitetsutbildning. Resultatet från detta projekt har mynnat ut i ett helhetskoncept för utforming av det måttbestämda lastutrymmet, som visat sig uppfylla de krav som ställdes på den slutgiltiga konceptlösningen. Denna slutgiltiga konceptlösning har utarbetats i en fullskalig mock-up, vilket också har varit en del av projektets mål. / This report covers a development project which goal is to produce one or more layout concepts of a measure defined boot compartment. This project is conducted as Bachelor of Science thesis within the bachelor engineering program of innovation technics and design in Karlstad University, Sweden. The assignment was supplied by Martin Larsson, managing director at Precer Autotech, a company that is developing a new type of hybrid vehicle that runs on solid fuels. This vehicle owns the dimensions of an average sized car, though is technically defined as a larger sized quad or ATV. Because of this, the vehicle in question is subject to several special factors regarding, for example, the ratio between weight and size. The project is going to provide part of the foundation on which this concept vehicle will be developed. The process of industrial design has pervaded this project, with methods and techniques originated from said process riddling the entirety of the project. Methods such as the use of a full scale mock-up have nuanced this project. From sessions of brainstorming to the development of concepts, this project has been using techniques and ways which has been a defining part of the university studies. The project resulted in one concept for totality of the measure defined boot compartment, which has shown to fulfill the demands of the project. The final concept solution has also been implemented in a full scale mock-up, which was a part of the project’s goals. / Utveckling av lastutrymme för ett konceptfordon

To tackle the problem of poor adherence to medication, pill boxes are manufactured to help patients store and organise their pills. Unfortunately, pill boxes alone cannot aide people with memory difficulties to improve their adherence to medication. A solution to this problem is to improve pill boxes by integrating technology. Technology makes it possible to have audio signals, as well as light signals, in a pill box, which can remind the users of their dosing times. The purpose of this report is to design a pill box unit, which together with an already designed watch unit from the company Victrix AB, will form a lockable dosing system. The pill box unit itself should be able to facilitate medication intake for people with disabilities in their hands, among other disabilities and diagnoses, as well as for the visually impaired. Interviews were conducted with potential users of a dosing system to identify the product requirements of a pill box. These requirements were used to generate different concepts. From the concepts developed, two were chosen for further development and design in CAD. The results from the study were Dosis, a pill box with an automatic locking function, and Medix, a pill box with a manual locking function, which together meet all the set requirements. Due to the limitations imposed on the design, in correlation with the requirements that were set, the study could not design a concept of a pill box that could solely meet all the requirements. / För att förhindra underdosering vid medicinering av läkemedel tillverkas dosetter, ett förvaringsutrymme för tabletter. Dessvärre hjälper inte endast ett förvaringsutrymme för att människor med minnessvårigheter ska komma ihåg att inta sin medicinering. En lösning till detta problem är doseringssystem, vilket påminner användare om deras doseringstillfällen med hjälp av en ljudsignal. Syftet med denna rapport är att konstruera en pillerdosaenhet, som tillsammans med en redan formgiven klockenhet från företaget Victrix AB, ska bilda ett låsbart tablettdoseringssystem. Pillerdosaenheten i sig ska kunna underlätta tablettintag för personer med, bland annat, handikapp i händerna och för synskadade. Intervjuer med potentiella användare för ett tablettdoseringssystem genomfördes för att identifiera de krav som ställs på en dosett. Kraven användes sedan för att generera olika koncept. Utifrån de framställda koncepten valdes två, ett med manuell låsfunktion och ett med en automatisk låsfunktion, för att vidareutvecklas och sedan konstrueras i CAD. Resultatet blev Dosis med automatisk låsfunktion och Medix med manuell låsfunktion, som tillsammans kan uppfylla alla ställda krav på produkten. På grund av begränsningar som sattes på konstruktionen, i samband med kravställningen, kunde studien inte komma fram till en enskild pillerdosa som kunde uppfylla samtliga krav.

In addition to this main objective, three other secondary objectives were defined: to identify the professional teaching knowledge of the professors and how they developed this knowledge, if they develop their knowledge by their own and / or institutional initiatives and, finally, if they have the necessity for an ongoing updating. It was carried out a theoretical study based on many authors, for instance, Imbernón and Marcelo who were the main reference in relation to the professional development theme, while Tardif was the main one who provided the principles in relation to professional teaching knowledge. A survey research instrument was applied with 235 Business Administration professors, from 10 different community universities which are part of ACAFE System (Association of Santa Catarina educational foundations). It was noticed by the collected data that the initial assumption of this work, expressed in the research question that in-service teacher education contributes to the professional development, was correct, because despite all the limitations pointed out in the in-service teacher education offered currently by all institutions, professors still consider that it helps a lot . But it was possible to realize that there is a limited understanding of professional development, as a synonym for in-service teacher education and in this sense, it was confirmed that in-service teacher education could contribute effectively to professional development if it included (1) reflection on the experiential knowledge, (2) updating the knowledge of the specific field of Administration, (3) discussion of the role of the University and its institutional policies, (4) the curriculum of the course as a whole, (5) knowledge of reality and the students of the institution / Este trabalho visou estudar como a formação continuada contribui para o desenvolvimento profissional de professores de Administração. Além deste objetivo principal, três outros objetivos secundários foram definidos: identificar quais são os saberes profissionais docentes destes professores e como os constituíram, se eles desenvolvem seus saberes por meio de iniciativas próprias e/ou institucionais e, por fim, se sentem a necessidade de uma constante atualização. Realizou-se o estudo de muitos autores, todavia deve-se destacar que, em relação ao tema desenvolvimento profissional, Imbernón e Marcelo foram os principais referenciais, enquanto em relação aos saberes profissionais docentes, Tardif foi o autor mais consultado. Para alcançar os objetivos propostos realizou-se um estudo do tipo survey com 235 professores que atuam na graduação em Administração, de 10 diferentes instituições de ensino, todas comunitárias e pertencentes ao Sistema ACAFE (Associação Catarinense das Fundações Educacionais). Por meio dos dados coletados pode-se constatar que o pressuposto inicial deste trabalho, expresso na própria questão de pesquisa, de que a formação continuada contribui para o desenvolvimento profissional, estava correto, pois apesar de todas as limitações apontadas na formação continuada atualmente oferecida por todas as Instituições, ainda assim os docentes consideram que a mesma auxilia muito . Mas pôde-se perceber que há um entendimento restrito de desenvolvimento profissional, como sinônimo de formação continuada e neste sentido, confirmou-se que a formação continuada poderia contribuir efetivamente para o desenvolvimento profissional se contemplasse (1) a reflexão sobre os saberes experienciais; (2) a atualização dos saberes do campo específico da administração; (3) a discussão da função da Universidade e de suas políticas institucionais; (4) a proposta curricular do curso como um todo; (5) o conhecimento da realidade e dos discentes da Instituição
