Up the Ocklawaha : En musikalisk transkription för oboe av tonsättaren Marion Bauer

Scott, Sabina January 2020 (has links)

Hellström, Madelaine January 2014 (has links)
The northern province of Sweden has in both literature and film been depictured as something foreign and mythical, unlike the rest of the country. It has been my purpose to show in this essay that the systematic categorization of Norrland and its literature reveals multiple criteria known to define the colonial era. By reading the novel Stallo by author Stefan Spjut with postcolonial structures in mind I aim to show how the author uses Swedish mythology and through the presence of The Other criticizes colonial structures in place to this day. By examining the gothic atmosphere I intend to indicate how the trolls in the novel figures as both a horror element as well as a representation of nature itself. It is my belief that the author by further reinforcing the mythological in relation to Norrland addresses the problem at hand. That Norrland is still to this day a colony within its own country.

Etude du ressuage des bétons de parois moulées - influence des paramètres de formulation / Study of bleeding of concrete diaphragm walls : influence of formulation parameters

Azzi, Mohammed Amin 04 July 2017 (has links)
The diaphragm walls are foundations made with reinforced concrete. The concrete of diaphragm wall is never vibrated and has a high fluidity. The observations recorded following excavation and planing of diaphragm walls demonstrate that defects are observed which are correlated with concrete bleeding during placement. Water upwelling pathology represents 90% of all disorders observed at project sites. Mix components are often implicated. A study was conducted to understand the influence of various parameters affecting the bleeding. Four concrete mix designs derived from the field were characterized in the laboratory. On a jobsite, one design has, revealed its robustness with respect to bleeding, whereas the other three have led to pathologies of varying severity. The tested concrete displaying the most of pathologies was modified so as to observe the effect of different mix components on the forced and static bleeding. A range of pressures was introduced as a means of simulating various diaphragm wall heights. This study validated the pressure 5 bar predicted by the Bauer recommendations. The basic formulation of this concrete of foundation has been modified in order to have a continuous granular curve, G / S close to 1 and an increasing in the dosage of fines greater thinly than 430 kg / m3. The results of tests served to limit the admissible threshold of filter press Bauer at 15 ml instead of 24,4 ml. The formulations of the concrete foundation of several diaphragm walls have been modified accordingly, which validated the previous prescriptions. Recommendations have been proposed.

Finger, Birgit, Hennig, Lutz 30 January 2020 (has links)

POZZI, MATTIA LUIGI 15 April 2013 (has links)
This research proposes a critical inquiry of the thought of Johann Caspar Schmidt, best known as Max Stirner, both for investigate his peculiar position in the philosophical context of the early half of XIX century, and in the history of philosophy in general, and for understand the theoretical and topical interest of his proposal. The aim of the analysis is the widening of an ironic value of his work, suggested for some critics, in order to assert that Stirner makes a complex and humoristic parody of his contemporary context of thought – in particular of the works of Feuerbach, Bruno Bauer and Hegel – and of his own assumptions for displace the philosophical discours from the level of the meaning to the level of the event. In this way, his parody attains a heuristic and pragmatic function, suggesting a different idea of subjectivity as structure of difference and new ethical and political forms, based on the reconsideration of the notions of use and consumption.

Performing emotions : A case study on audience reception of the German docusoap Bauer sucht Frau

Lehmann, Sophie January 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to approach the understanding of viewing of reality television with the intention to explore emotional responses in the reception since emotions are crucial part in the emotionalized television genre of reality television. The German adaption of the format The Farmer Wants a Wife was chosen for this case study to examine tendencies of portraying contestants in unpleasant situations. Humiliation, embarrassment or discrediting the contestants creates a balancing act between fun and ridicule. The protagonists are located between the status of (temporary) cult figures and/or figures of fun. The thesis’ main aim is to find out which emotions are perceived and addressed in the watching experience of the format being named in the context of ‘fremdschämen’. The winged German word for vicarious or empathic embarrassment was thereby addressed beyond its descriptive metaphor for current programs. Emotional responses in connection with shame and embarrassment were previously predominantly neglected in research on reality television. Its relevance and occurrence in media is insofar important, as the concept of ‘fremdschämen’ found the way into German mainstream language use. The thesis delivers qualitative approaches to capture the mediation of emotions in reality TV: In a narrative analysis, the question on how emotions actually are staged was approached. Subsequently, four focus group discussions with overall 18 German-speaking discussants were conducted to understand individual and social watching preferences, emotional involvement, attachment styles and positioning in the reception. The study’s findings suggest that the contestants’ ordinariness is challenged by mainly focusing on extraordinarity in the docusoap. Thereby, new opportunities of audience positioning, identification and anti-identification and constructions of appealing figures are encouraged. Gentle mockery in the style of presentation contains furthermore self-criticism of the genre and expresses a critical stance of viewing. Emotions are performed on different levels to increase entertaining values in the program. Especially embarrassment can be connected to its function of ridicule and the maintenance of social order.

The White International : anatomy of a transnational radical revisionist plot in Central Europe after World War I

Alforde, Nicholas January 2013 (has links)
The denial of defeat, the harsh Versailles Treaty and unsuccessful attempts by paramilitary units to recover losses in the Baltic produced in post-war Germany an anti-Bolshevik, anti-Entente, radical right-wing cabal of officers with General Ludendorff and Colonel Bauer at its core. Mistakenly citing a lack of breadth as one of the reason for the failure of their amateurishly executed Hohenzollern restoration and Kapp Putsch schemes, Bauer and co-conspirator Ignatius Trebitsch-Lincoln devised the highly ambitious White International plot. It sought to form a transnational league of Bavaria, Austria and Hungary to force the annulment of the Paris Treaties by the coordinated use of paramilitary units from the war vanquished nations. It set as its goals the destruction of Bolshevism in all its guises throughout Europe, the restoration of the monarchy in Russia, the systematic elimination of all Entente-sponsored Successor States and the declaration of war on the Entente. Archival documents, memoirs and other sources expose the underlying flaw in the plot: individual national priorities would always override transnational cooperation. Bavaria and Hungary were already seeking treaty revision through a rapprochement with the Entente; White Russian forces had turned from German support in favour of the French; and finally - as pointed out by their own leaders - the member states' paramilitary units were either untested or wholly ineffective, and thus would be no match for the national armies of the Successor States and the Entente.

TRAIL RUNNING GENOM CROSS-MEDIA: : En kvalitativ studie av cross-mediamarknadsföring för John Bauer Trail Run / TRAIL RUNNING ACROSS MEDIA: : A qualitative study of cross media marketing for John Bauser Trail Run

Sjöö, Sandra, Estlund, Anton January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to determine how to attract participants from all over Sweden to partake in the John Bauer Trail Run and increase the awareness of it employing a well planned cross-media strategy. To achieve this purpose a thorough study of litterature and research within the areas cross-media and marketing have been done. The method that was chosen for the study was a small-N-study which is a more quantitative type of case study. Eleven different running events have been examined and interviewed to collect the empirical data. The answers that the interviews produced have been analyzed in combination with the studied litterature and this has resulted in a cross-media strategy for John Bauer Trail Run. The key elements of this strategy is that they should have different purposes for their different marketing channels, some more brand oriented and some more call-to-action. These specific purposes should be taken in consideration each time an advert or a message is to be published in the channel and the content should be adapted accordingly. The results of the study are mainly applicable to John Bauer Trail Run but parts of it can be applied to other trail running-events with similar goals as well. This study was limited by the appointed time and resources regarding how many units that has been studied and that only one method was applied.
