A outra fonte documental é a coleção didática Links: English for teens, aprovada no PNLD 2011. / This paper aims at investigating whether there is a consistency between the theoretical perspective of genre in official documents and the approach adopted by the textbook, thus seeking to analyze how is the relationship between linguistic theories of genre, official documents and textbook. Our analytical focus is the teaching of foreign language - English, especially in the final years of the fundamental level. Regarding the methodology, our research is based on the qualitative approach, and the method of analysis is the documentary research. We analyze the following official documents relevant to research: the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN) and the National Textbook Program (PNLD) for Modern Foreign Language in 2011. The other documentary source is the didactic collection Links: English for teens, approved in PNLD 2011. Throughout the study, we drew on some key concepts of the linguistic theories of genre, mainly following the sociodiscursive perspective of Bakhtin and the didactic pedagogical developments of the Geneva Group (Dolz, Schneuwly, especially). We also use the studies on the place of the textbook in teaching a foreign language. The findings highlight inconsistencies between the theory presented in official documents and its didactic transposition in the textbook.

As
The present research aims to propose activities that develop students argumentative
capacity enabling them to the conscious use of the types of the arguments. It was
made on the basis of data obtained fromthe activities in a class of eighth grade of
elementary school, E.E. Adalgisa de Paula Duke, in Lima Duarte, MG. We seek
support in the following sources: Breton (1999), Fiorin (2006), Marcuschi(2008),
Bakhtin (2000) (theory of genres); Lévy (1996), (technology education), Book view of
the Portuguese Language Olympics(2014) and the National Curricular Parameters
(1998). As methodology we employ action research. The project was made from a
sequence of activities of an interdisciplinary nature, which included work king with
math and Science, and had as its theme "ban on sweets in school", chosen by the
students themselves. The strategies of work focused on the protagonism of the
student, because the decisions were taken from your participation – which is an
argumentative strategy. Facebook, from the constitution of a closed group where
students interacted with the teacher, was used so that the students could argue on
the subject in a more free and so they learn to express themselves in public place –
social network. The project culminated in the drafting of a collective open letter, with
the abovementioned theme that was disclosed for students in other schools in the
municipality, at the local newspaper LD&CLA. The survey was implemented in the
first half of 2017. During the procedure, were produced texts that became object of
analysis to check the development of the students reasoning ability. From the results,
we see greater awareness of students onhow to behave in discussions, change in
the way they interact with each other and with the teacher, using arguments more
persuasive and based on data and research, orthat is, use of types of the
arguments.

ESTUDO DA FÁBULA: CONTEXTO LINGUAGEM E REPRESENTAÇÃO / STUDY OF FABLE: CONTEXT, LANGUAGE AND REPRESENTATIONFarencena, Gessélda Somavilla 02 March 2011 (has links)
This paper assumes that language is the primary means of socialization of individuals. Considering its functionality, more than just allowing the simple exchange of information, it allows us to establish interpesonal relationships, to express and to build representations of experiences. Thus, this study presents an analysis of seven fables originally attributed to Aesop and seven versions revisited by Millôr Fernandes. With twenty-five-century distant productions, these texts are studied from the perspective of its Generic Structure Potential (GPS), in order to examine, through contextual and lexical-grammatical description, the representations of the characters in Aesop‟s and Millôr Fernandes‟s fables. For this, the fundamental theoretical assumptions used are notion of genre from Hasan (1989), the concept of situational context from Halliday (1989), the lexical-grammatical categories of the transitivity system from the Systemic Functional Grammar from Halliday & Matthiessen‟s (2004 ), the lexico-semantical categories of the Appraisal Theory from Martin & White (2005), the theory of social representations from Moscovici (2009) and the three-dimensional model from Fairclough (2001). The results show that, concerning to the genre, fables produced by Millôr Fernandes presented a stage we call [E # 3.3] Consummation and / or continuation to completion, nonexistent in Aesopian‟s fables, which brings different outcomes. In relation to the social contexts in which the fables were produced, the analysis showed similarities and differences when regarding to situations of oppression experienced by Aesop in the conditions of a slaver, and the ones lived by Millor Fernandes during the Brazilian Military Dictatorship. Moreover, the nature and consequences of these oppressions are distinct in the context of each author. In relation to the linguistic analysis, the lexico-grammatical roles played by the main characters, and the evaluations expressed by the marks of affection, trial, assessment and force point to representations such as reflections of cultural and situational contexts experienced by fabulists. In Aesop's fables, the characters represented as the winners, who have achieved their goals, use more the imposing of physical strength than their linguistic resources. In the fables of Millor Fernandes, instead, the victorious characters use more of the resources of language to overcome the strongest ones. In this sense, the representation pointed to the classical society is that the force stood out the word, being used more frequently and efficiently. The representation that is configured to the contemporary society of Millôr, however, is that language is used as the main resource for solving problems and overcoming the strongest ones.

Desenvolvimento da escrita acadêmica em francês: relações entre a produção escrita e o ensino do gênero textual artigo científico / Developing academic writing in French: the relationship between written works and teaching of the textual genre academic paperJaci Brasil Tonelli 06 December 2016 (has links)
This dissertations goal was to study the development of language capacities of Language Studies undergraduate students related to academic writing in French throughout a semester by analyzing their written works. To this end, our specific objective was to create a didactic model (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2004) of the textual genre academic paper in French at the department of literature studies in order to elaborate a didactic sequence (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2004) aiming at teaching the characteristics of that textual genre to the students enrolled in the course Monografia. Aiming at understanding how the teachers performance contributes to the development of the students language capacities when applying the didactic sequence (DS), the classes were recorded and transcribed. Furthermore, we analyzed the influence of the remarks given by the researcher-teacher to the first versions of the papers in the development of the students language capacities. In order to develop our research, we adopted the socio-discursive interactionism (SDI) theoretical and methodological framework (BRONCKART, 1999/2012, SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2004 e MACHADO, 2009), which is rooted in Vigotskis (1998; 1997; 2010; 2011; 2013) studies on human development. We employed the concepts of instrument and zone of proximal development (VIGOTSKI, 1997; 2010; 2011; 2013) to understand the development of the students language capacities; of didactic model (DI PIETRO et al., 2004) and didactic sequence (DOLZ; NOVERRAZ; SCHNEUWLY, 2004) to accomplish the didactization of the textual genre; and of fundamental teaching gestures (SCHNEUWLY, 2009) to comprehend how the teachers performance in the application of the didactic sequence took place. We also rely on studies related to academic writing and writing difficulties experienced by undergraduate and graduate students. To do so, we used the idea proposed by Bazerman (2009; 2013) that the textual genres work as frames to develop the kinds of thoughts related to the courses; and based on the SDI analyses categories and on the research accomplished by Matencio (2003) e Pollet (2004) about the difficulties of writing experienced by undergraduate and graduate students regarding the insertion of other authors voices, we elaborated categories of retextualization to accomplish the analysis of the students texts. The students texts were first analyzed according to the textual architecture model (BRONCKART, 1999/2012; 2006) in order to verify if there was development of the language capacities and if it could be attributed to the didactic sequence, to the teachers performance and/or to the remarks given by the researcher-teacher. In our analysis we could observe the development of the students language capacities throughout the semester, specially of the action and discursive capacities, a great part of which connected to the didactic sequence activities, to the fundamental teaching gestures of local regulation and institutionalization used by the teacher when applying the didactic sequence and to the researcher-teacher remarks.

Coerções e liberdades textuais em francês como língua estrangeira: por um desenvolvimento do estilo na produção escrita por meio do gênero textual relato de viagem / Textual constraints and liberties in French as a foreign language: for a style development in writing production through the genre travel journalSuélen Maria Rocha 06 May 2014 (has links)
This thesis aims to analyze the development of written production in French as a foreign language through the genre \"travel journal\", but trying to verify how students develop their language capacities from restrictions and liberties allowed by the chosen genre. Therefore, this research investigates how students appropriate the characteristics of the genre and shows how they insert marks of subjectivity that can be considered as stylistics. Data was collected in a writing course offered by Cultural and Extension Service French extracurricular courses, from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences, at the University of São Paulo. Students, ranging between levels A2 and B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CONSEIL DE L\' EUROPE, 2001), were able to study three different textual genres, among them the travel journal. The theoretical framework that guided this research relies mainly on the theoretical assumptions of socio-discursive interactionism (BRONCKART, 1999/2009, 2006a, 2008; MACHADO, 2009) and the studies of Schneuwly and Dolz (2004/2010) on the use of textual genres as a tool for teaching and learning that can help student develop their language capacities: action capacity, discursive capacity, and linguistic-discursive capacity. To achieve our specific goals, we rely in parallel on the discussions about style (BRONCKART, 1999/2009, 2006c; SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2004/2010; BAKHTIN, 1997; CLOT, 2007; BRANDÃO, 2005a, 2005b; BRAIT, 2005), but mainly on the discussion of textual constraints and liberties by Bronckart (2006c). In order to analyze the texts collected, we use not only the theoretical and methodological framework proposed by Bronckart (1999/2009, 2006a), but also the studies from Kerbrat-Orecchioni (2002) and Maingueneau (2001) with regard to subjectivity marks in the texts. Based on authors who study the function of textual genres in teaching (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2004/2010; DOLZ; GAGNON; TOULOU, 2008; LOUSADA, 2002/2010, 2009, 2010; CRISTOVÃO, 2002/2010, 2009), we built the didactic model of the textual genre travel journal, developed a didactic sequence (DS), and applied it in the context mentioned before. Activities were proposed in the first two modules of the DS that focused on the most stable features of the genre. After these modules, an intermediate production was required from students intending to check if they had mobilized essential language capacities for the production of this genre. In the third module we selected a text with the aim of exploring textual liberties exercised by its producer. The results of our research showed that a genrebased perspective is a potential tool for developing students language capacities in a foreign language. As we focused on style in texts, students mobilized less canonical discursive and linguistic resources in their final productions inspired by texts from the class, thus establishing a relationship of inter-textuality with the texts of the DS. In addition, demonstrating the dialogic nature of style some students also made use of inter-text, which may indicate the development of autonomy in writing. In short, our didactic proposal confirms Bronckart (2006c) statement: preexisting models are the first condition for the exercise of liberty in texts

The fait divers in teaching: influences of didactic sequences on the textual production of FFL studentsAñez-Oliveira, Renata 29 April 2014 (has links)
This research aims at investigating the mobilization of language abilities (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2010) on texts produced by students who took part in a fait divers genre learning process, taught in French as a Foreign Language (FFL), and carried out in a college extra class course. Besides this main objective, we aim at checking how the didactic sequence and its use, led by the teacher, represent an influence upon the texts written by students. Our main theoretical basis comes from the Socio-discursive Interactionism (SDI) (BRONCKART, 2007 [1999], 2009), as well as from studies in the didactic of languages, based on the notion of textual genre (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2010; DOLZ; GAGNON; DECÂNDIO, 2010). The fait divers genre has a proven relevance in social practices due to its frequent presence on the everyday French-speaking newspapers. As for the environment of the FFL teaching, and taking into consideration many teaching methodologies, the fait divers is often used as a way of exercising some of the grammar aspects. However, literature upon this topic seems not to cover any study about its characteristics or its discursive potential, and this seems to be incongruent, since it is frequently used as a role model in didactic books. Even if one does not know about the genre, the FFL student frequently has to take it as an example in order to produce texts, mainly when it comes to produce materials which must present past tense forms of verbs. In order for us to proceed with the investigation, we made a selection of ten examples of the fait divers extracted from digital media, and then we analyzed them so to build its didactic model. Based on the examples, we made a didactic sequence as to serve as a basis for our teaching, and we analyzed the texts produced by the students, seeking to identify the language abilities developed by them, especially in what concerns ability for action, as well as discursive and linguistic-discursive abilities (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2010). Furthermore, besides analyzing the students production, we also sought to investigate the role of the teacher as a proposer of didactic sequence activities and as of an agent in the process of teaching mediation. In doing so, we intended to understand how such actions influenced on the mobilization of the language abilities of these students. As for the analysis of their textual production, we verified that all of their abilities were influenced and modified. This finding asserts the efficiency of the mechanisms of didactic transfer used in our study, as well as reassures our hypothesis that teaching through the use of textual genres can promote a linguistic and discursive enhancement, as to contribute to the increase of the awareness for the use of language and for the development of the mechanisms involved in this process

Previous issue date: 2011-10-26 / This dissertation is linked to the research line: Text and discourse in oral and
written modalities of the Postgraduate Program in Portuguese Language at PUC-SP.
It has been the theme, textual organization of suspense story, from the strategies
implemented by narrator in order to obtain and maintain attention of their readers.
Objectives are segmentation and analysis of product verbal text in episodes,
reconstruction of episodes stopped in causality; character modalizations, referencing
and changing roles.
Methodological procedure is analytical theoretical, performing the following
analytical categories. The analysis followed four categories namely:
I. Full text segmentation by episodes;
II. Temporal ordering of segmented episodes;
III. Examination of text referencing concerning the characters, from the modalities
to be x look like: maintenance and modification of social roles.
IV. The analysis of suspense, situated as climax.
The results indicate that:
There are different strategies applied by authors to build suspense in verbal
text product.
Readers build a meaning calculation due to the second narrative route concealment
forcing, when recognizing the relevance, making ostensive inferences in order
to make it explicit.
Modalizations to be x look like, allow to recognize the truth, lying, and mystery.
Suspense is defined by the articulation of puzzle-revelation.
Conclusion is that suspense stories are a discourse genre that deserve further
São objetivos a segmentação e análise do texto produto verbal em episódios;
O procedimento metodológico é teórico analítico, seguindo as seguintes categorias
analíticas:
As análises seguiram quatro categorias a saber:
I. A segmentação do texto integral por episódios;
II. A ordenação temporal dos episódios segmentados;
III.
modalidades ser x parecer: manutenção e modificação de papéis sociais;
IV.
no texto produto verbal.
merecem outros estudos

Previous issue date: 2012-06-13 / Reading pedagogy: schoolbook analysis under the Linguistic Education
perspective is the outcome of an investigation carried out from 2009 to 2012
following the Portuguese language reading, writing and teaching research track
from the Portuguese Language Studies Program from the Pontific Catholic University
of São Paulo, guided by Prof., Dr. Dieli Vesaro Palma, PUC-SP Linguistic Education
for Portuguese Teaching research group leader PUC-SP GREDLINP-.
The following research has intended to analyze it under the Linguistic
Education perspective in what way the schoolbook explores the reading pedagogy so
the following questions can be answered:
1. What is the reading model which rests under the schoolbook?
2. How do the authors try to awake the learners´ previous knowledge?
So the analysis is done we have used the critic interpretative research, which lies in
the
research qualitative paradigm, aiming for analyzing the Portuguese Language
schoolbook text interpreting and comprehension exercises of the Fundamental
School II 6th grade from school collection Portuguese Languages, featuring
William Roberto Cereja and Thereza Cochar Magalhães as authors.
We conclude that the cognitive reading model awakened by the questions
was interactive, although the majority is bottom-up, contrasting with the top-down
(KLEIMAN, 2008 and KATO, 1990). The authors try to awake the readers-learners´
previous knowledge through the interpreting questions, besides saving a section in
each unity for this purpose.
Therefore, we consider achieving satisfactory our goal:
1. Discovering what reading model rests under the proposal of the analyzed LD.
2. Analyzing how the authors try to awake the learners´ previous knowledge / A pedagogia da leitura: análise de material didático na perspectiva da
Drª.
(bottom-up), em comparação ao descendente (top-down) (KLEIMAN, 2008 e KATO,
aprendentes

Previous issue date: 2012-10-19 / This dissertation is linked to a line of research Leitura, Escrita e Ensino of the Program of
Post Graduation in the Portuguese Language of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de
São Paulo. Having in mind the Learning Expectations present in the Pedagogic Project of
two public schools in the East Metropolitan Area of the city of São Paulo, at the first place,
it has been checked the models used by the students to build up the semantic relations
responsible for the cohesion of their texts. Immediately after that, it has been defined, in
the production of the text of these students the resources that present inadequacies and to
close, it has been checked whether the students of the 7th grade of the secondary school of
these schools have established the cohesion in the adequate form in the school years that
correspond to their age group (11-13 years old). For the examination, it has been opted for
genre short stories, as it has been contemplated in the schools since the first grade. The
choice has been based in the hypotheses that is easier to analyse the student s writing,
when using textual outputs, which structure is or should be familiar to their authors. For
that, it has been adopted the concept of text advocated by Beaugrande (1997):
communicative event where the actions of linguist order, cognitive and socials, are related.
From those actions, it has been highlighted the ones of linguist order and prioritization has
been given to the concepts of cohesion proposed by Fávero (2010), who conceives
cohesion in a level different from the one of the coherence. The analyse has shown us that
the strategy of the cohesion are presented in the productions. However, the students from
one school, as well as the students from the other one, have shown certain cohesive
inabilities in relation to what is expected from them at the end of school years spent in the
secondary school, considering that the Learning Expectation orient the teaching of the
Portuguese language in the Municipal schools of the city of São Paulo / de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Língua Portuguesa da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de
contemplado desde o Ciclo I nas escolas.

Previous issue date: 2008-10-22 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / Although many expressive studies of written text have appeared in the last few
years, ideas and actions to improve this area of teaching are still necessary and ways
to develop it have not been exhausted. With this in mind, this study was developed
with the objective of teaching written argumentative text.
Based on studies of Text Linguistics - such as Koch (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005
and 2006), Koch & Elias (2006) and Beaugrande (1997) - we adopted the
perspective of viewing the text as a process in which meaning is produced by
participants as they interact. We also follow theoretical aspects of genres and textual
types as presented by Bakhtin (1979/2003), Marcuschi (2005 and 2006), Bazerman
(2006) and Schneuwly & Dolz (2004). We would specifically like to highlight
Charaudeau s (2008) analysis of types of argumentative text.
Bearing in mind the objective of our work, we methodically catalogued
activities of argumentative text production in four didactical High School manuals. We
then analyzed two articles of opinion published in the newspaper, the Folha de São
Paulo, and created, as an example, a suggestion for the teaching of argument / Embora tenham surgido nos últimos anos muitos estudos expressivos acerca
