Bakgrund: Vårdmiljön på sjukhus innehåller ett antal olika faktorer, såväl fysiska som mellanmänskliga, vilka i olika hög grad kan påverka patienters möjligheter till återhämtning såväl positivt som negativt. Det kan handla om färgen på väggarna och möjligheten till enkelrum, lika väl som sjuksköterskans bemötande av patienten. Syfte: Att skapa en översikt över vårdmiljöns betydelse för patientens återhämtning på sjukhus. Metod: En allmän litteraturöversikt. Tolv vårdvetenskapliga artiklar analyserades. Nio med kvalitativ ansats och tre med kvantitativ ansats. Resultat: Vårdmiljön kan främja patienternas återhämtning, men den kan likaväl hämma återhämtningen. Faktorer som inverkade på patienternas återhämtning redovisas i fyra teman: Den omgivande miljöns betydelse för patientens återhämtning, vårdmiljöns inverkan på patientens sömnkvalitet, hur inredningens utformning kan påverka patientens återhämtning och det mellanmänskliga mötets betydelse för patientens återhämtning. Här framkommer att utsikt genom fönstret, störande ljud, en hemlik inredning samt kommunikationen mellan patienten och sjuksköterskan är faktorer som på ett eller annat vis påverkar patienternas återhämtning. Slutsats: Patienternas upplevelser tydliggjorde att vårdmiljön, såväl den fysiska som den mellanmänskliga, hade en stor inverkan på återhämtningen. / Background: The healthcare environment at a hospital contains a few different factions, physical aswell as interpersonal. Some of which can deeply impact the patients road to recovery for both good and bad, such as the color of the interior and the potential access to a secluded room. Also the treatment recevied by the nurses plays a big part. Aim: To create a map of the healthcare environments impact for the recovery of the patient. Method: A general literature-overview. Twelve scientifically based articles on healthcare. Nine with qualitative approach and three with quantitative approach. Results: The healthcare environment can promote patients recovery, but it can also inhibit the patients recovery. Factors that influenced the recovery is accounted for in four themes: The surrounding environments meaning for the patients recovery, the healthcare environments impact on the patients sleep quality, the way the interior has been layed out and the interpersonal meeting can also aid the patients recovery. Things like a view out of a window, noises, a home-like interior aswell as communication between the nurses and the patient plays a big part on how the patients is recovering. Conclusions: The patients experience clarified that the healthcare environment, the physical aswell as the interpersonal treatment had a big impact on the recovery of the patient.

This project examines the connection between the representations of Chinese American women and the Orientalist discourse, as depicted in Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club. Using a deconstructive and intersectional approach, the project focuses on four interconnected constituents that regulate the novel’s main structural and thematic elements: Narrative Structure; Mother-Daughter Relationships; Language, Writing and Identity; and Feminist Affirmations. The project’s aim is to understand the logic of the novel’s representation by juxtaposing and analyzing the contrasting arguments within each of the sections. Though somewhat inconclusive, this project addresses the ambiguity of Tan’s work in hopes of expanding the critical understanding of the novel.

Denna uppsats undersöker och jämför moderskapsrollen hos två karaktärer i varsin fantasyroman. Catlyn stark i A Game of Thrones av George R. R. Martin, och Essun i The Fifth Season av N. K. Jemisin. Uppsatsen tar hjälp av Simone de Beauvoirs bok Det andra könet och det hon skriver om modern som underlag för begreppet moderskap. Analysen visar att båda karaktärernas moderskap präglas av att de vill skydda sina barn och det dikterar hur de agerar i böckerna, vilket även driver romanernas intriger framåt. Moderskapsrollen är dock något som kan skifta beroende på hur de ser på sig själva och sin roll som moder.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka på vilket sätt skönlitteratur kan användas i skolans värdegrundsundervisning samt vilka aspekter av värdegrunden som eleverna uppmärksammar utifrån skönlitteratur. Detta har undersökts med hjälp av en kvalitativ studie där elever i årskurs 6 tillsammans i boksamtal diskuterat skönlitteratur och dess koppling till skolans värdegrundsarbete. Till studien har den skönlitterära boken Hugo och kepskampen valts ut. En bok som eleverna kunnat koppla ihop med sitt vardagliga liv, då dessa kopplingar är viktiga när det kommer till att applicera innehållet på sitt eget sätt att vara. I ett socialt samspel kan elever tillsammans i diskussioner fördjupa sin förståelse för diskussionsunderlaget. Den gemensamma förståelsen omvärderas sedan till en individuell förståelse som elever har med sig i sitt vardagliga liv. På så sätt utvecklas eleverna som människor utifrån vad de läst och de kan sedan utvecklas som demokratiska medborgare med förståelse för hur man ska behandla sina medmänniskor. Resultatet av studien visar att eleverna med hjälp av skönlitteratur kan synliggöra olika aspekter av skolans värdegrund i boksamtal. Respekten för människans egenvärde och hur man ska behandla sina medmänniskor var de aspekter ur värdegrunden som eleverna lade störst vikt vid under boksamtalen. Således visar resultatet att skönlitteratur kan användas i värdegrundsundervisning då eleverna med hjälp av det lästa innehållet utvecklat förståelse för skolans värdegrund. / <p>Godkänt datum 2018-06-14</p>

David Lurie, the main character in J.M. Coetzee’s novel Disgrace, is a white middle-aged man who lives in South Africa. He is a South African man but seems to think of himself as a European man and the story plays out in a post-colonial setting. In the story, sex and sexual violence are used by several characters as a means to communicate hierarchy and patriarchal power relations, intersected by race and sexuality. This essay explores how we can understand the plot and the role of sex in Disgrace, through Hélène Cixous’ theory of patriarchal binary thought. By using phallocentric oppositional word couples as examples, a close reading of the novel enables us to see how patriarchal binary thinking reveals the backbone of patriarchy in Disgrace.

This thesis investigates how two novels by Dennis Cooper, Closer and Frisk, conceive of queer sexuality as transgressing heteronormative notions of moral standards, and how they challenge these by elevating their subject matters to an excessive degree. Drawing on the concepts of the grotesque and the Gothic, this thesis explores the aesthetics of Closer and Frisk, focusing in particular on the way corporeality figures as a central aspect of how these texts explore the ways in which the body becomes a site for Cooper’s discourses of transgression. Furthermore, drawing on Lee Edelman’s notion of the queer subject as inherently opposed to the value of every social form and structure, it is argued that the adverse representations of Cooper’s subjects work to add to this oppositionality. Thus, this thesis investigates how the queer expressions of desire in the texts are inextricable from the aberrant imagery of the body; the body as Gothically grotesque in the novels provides ways to configure alternative ways of conceptualizing the queer body and investigate its ties to transgression.

I uppsatsen beskrivs två praktiker för lyrikläsning med 14–18–åriga skolelever:klassrumssamtal samt ett formulär för kreativ analys. Dessa praktiker ställs mot ettinteraktionellt synsätt som företräds av disciplinen receptionsestetik så som denna beskrivs avWolfgang Iser, ett transaktionellt synsätt som företräds av disciplinen reader–response theorymed Louise Rosenblatt som förgrundsfigur, samt disciplinen kognitiv poetik såsom dennabeskrivs av Peter Stockwell. Praktikerna jämförs också med rön inom forskningsområdetlitteraturpedagogik och –didaktik. I uppsatsen diskuteras interaktionella begrepp som tomrum, luckor ochläsanvisningar samt transaktionella begrepp som estetisk och efferent läsning. Den kognitivapoetiken jämförs framförallt med det transaktionella synsättet. Stort utrymme ges åt fråganom texten som responsförberedande struktur är gemensam för alla läsare. Begrepp från denpedagogiska och didaktiska forskningen som diskuteras är lässammanhang ochtolkningsgemenskap liksom autentiska och icke-autentiska frågor respektive öppna ochslutna. Tolkningsgemenskap ställs mot de informella maktstrukturer eller hierarkier somverkar i klassrumsdynamiken. Till sist behandlas frågan om hur litterär kompetens kanutvecklas.

The aim of this study is to explore the theme of art in Anna-Karin Palms novel Målarens döttrar. Art as a theme extends across several different levels of the novel and works of art are discussed, depicted and described. The essay examines the role art plays in the narrative of the novel and as a part of the novel’s language. The theoretical framework includes philosophy of art, debates about art and artistry and intermedial studies that explore the ways in which literary texts transform pictures, including ekphrasis, iconic projection and the concept of the artist’s novel. The result of the study shows that the English painter Thomas Gainsborough’s painting “The Painter’s Daughters Chasing a Butterfly” plays a major role in the novel. The novel’s theme, its narrative and language is heavily influenced by and mirror the themes and features in the painting. The thesis further argues that Anna-Karin Palm not only describes art, but also comments on a changing artworld expanding over a hundred years and makes art play a key role in the two main characters' personal development. In the meeting with different views on art and by interpreting their surroundings as pictures, Anna-Karin Palm illuminates the two main characters' personal development. The novel's many perspectives on art and artistic themes all work together to create an understanding of the characters’ self-realization and personal growth.
