Esta pesquisa investigou as contribuições dos objetos de aprendizagem e suas potencialidades na apropriação de conceitos físicos por estudantes da 2ª série do Ensino Médio de uma escola pública do Distrito Federal. A metodologia e os recursos utilizados durante a pesquisa tiveram fundamentação para a análise compreensiva na Teoria de Aprendizagem Significativa de Ausubel e na coleta de dados por meio da estratégia de mapas conceituais de Novak tendo como ponto de partida os conhecimentos prévios dos estudantes. A realização das atividades propostas aos estudantes (questionário informativo sobre o perfil do estudante; observação de suas habilidades no uso do computador e do uso da informática; sua interação com os objetos de aprendizagem; mapeamento conceitual) forneceram a matéria-prima para a interpretação crítica e entendimento dos objetivos da pesquisa. Esta investigação foi dividida em etapas distintas onde foram utilizados objetos de aprendizagem (simulação/animação/vídeo) no laboratório de informática para introduzir conceitos físicos de dilatação, ondas e formação de cores. Mudanças significativas na apropriação dos conceitos físicos foram constatadas por parte dos estudantes pesquisados. A motivação para aprender, gerada pelas atividades propostas, pelo uso dos objetos de aprendizagem e pelas aulas no laboratório de informática foram variáveis responsáveis para os resultados obtidos. A atividade de introduzir conceitos físicos usando objetos de aprendizagem foi apreciada como fonte motivadora no grupo de estudantes do Ensino Médio, sujeitos desta pesquisa. Com relação à aprendizagem significativa, pode-se dizer que a integração das características da teoria de Ausubel com o uso de objetos de aprendizagem como organizadores prévios para o ensino e aprendizagem de conteúdos de Física, contribuiu para o desenvolvimento e a ampliação das oportunidades de construção de conhecimentos físicos com sentido e significado para os estudantes. E o uso da estratégia de mapeamento conceitual revelou-se relevante no processo de avaliação docente. / This research investigated the contributions of learning objects and their potential in the appropriation of physical concepts by students in the 2nd grade of High School, who study in a public school in the Distrito Federal. The qualitative methodology and recourses used during this research are based, for a complete analysis, on the Theory of Meaningful Learning by Ausubel and also on Novaks conceptual maps, taking the students prior knowledge as a starting point. This investigation was divided into distinct stages, where learning objects were used (simulation/animation/video) in the computer laboratory to introduce the physical concepts of dilation, waves and the formation of colors. The students fulfillment of the proposed activities (informative questionnaire on the students profile; observation of their ability with a computer and of information technology; their interaction with the learning objects; conceptual mapping) supplied the raw material for the analytical interpretation and understanding of the aims of this research. Significant changes in the acquisition of physical concepts were noted in part of the students researched. The motivation to learn, provoked by the proposed activities, by the use of the learning objects and by the classes in the computer laboratory, were the variables responsible for the results attained. The action of introducing physical concepts using learning objects was considered in the High School student group, who are the subject matter of this study. In relation to meaningful learning, it can be said that the integration of the characteristics of Ausubels theory, with the use of learning objects, as previous organizers for teaching and learning of physics content, contributed to the development and expansion of opportunities for the building of physical knowledge which makes sense to, and is meaningful to, the students. And the use of conceptual mapping strategy proved important in teaching evaluation process.

Territórios conectados pela educação a distância no Amazonas / Territories connected by distance education in Amazonas

As tecnologias de informação e comunicação têm sido as molas propulsoras do atual processo de globalização, promovendo a difusão da informação, bem como a instantaneidade dos eventos em múltiplos lugares, conectando-os, reduzindo o tempo dos fluxos de comunicação, informação e serviços, através de seu caráter ubíquo. Deste modo, existem os territórios, mas as distâncias que os separam são ignoradas, podendo ser transponíveis em lapsos de tempo, a telemática proporciona desta feita uma conexão vertical entre eles. A presente pesquisa, portanto, faz uma abordagem sobre o uso e disseminação das tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TICs) através da Educação a Distância (EaD), implantada no Estado do Amazonas em 2007, direcionada principalmente ao alunos do ensino médio. Propõe-se elucidar os motivos pelos quais o governo do Estado tem fomentado esta modalidade de ensino, e sua dinâmica no território, ao conectar verticalmente os espaços geográficos nele contidos. E seus efeitos culturais, ao fazer a interligação de estudantes, que moram em localidades isoladas no interior do Amazonas, com o mundo, através da internet. Através deste estudo foi possível também confrontar a infraestrutura de transportes e comunicação existentes nos núcleos urbanos e zonas rurais com as TICs instaladas a partir do advento da EaD, constituindo-se em novos conteúdos a estes lugares. Como também suas relações com lugares de elevadas densidades tecnológicas de comunicação, os quais já podem ser considerados de meios-técnico-científicos-informacionais. Bem como, analisar criticamente o processo de democratização da educação, por meio deste sistema educacional, aos alunos que até então não tinham acesso ao ensino médio. / Information technology and communication have been the drivers of the globalization process, promoting dissemination of information, as well as the immediacy of events in multiple locations, connecting them, reducing the time flow of communication, information and services through of its ubiquitous character. Thus, there are territories, but the distances that separate them are ignored and can be transposed in time-lapse, this time telematics provides a vertical connection between them. This research therefore makes an approach on the use and dissemination of information and communication technologies (ICTs) through Distance Education (DE), introduced in the State of Amazonas in 2007, targeted primarily to high school students. It is proposed to elucidate the reasons why the state government has encouraged this type of teaching, and their dynamics in the territory by connecting them vertically geographic areas therein. And its cultural effects, to make the interconnection of students who live in isolated locations within the Amazon, with the world through the internet. Through this study it was possible also to confront the transport and communication infrastructure in existing urban and rural areas with ICT installed from the advent of distance learning, providing new content on these sites. As well as its relations with places of high densities of communication technology, which can already be considered a technical-scientific-media-informational. As well, critically analyze the process of democratization of education, through this educational system, students who previously had no access to secondary education.

Among these tools there are the Information Systems that can be used in all levels of the company, from the operational level to the strategic one. From the understanding of the structure and culture of the organization, the needed elements to meet its levels of satisfaction, mission and necessities are searched. One of the forms of doing this is to aggregate the use of Information Systems to the Information Technology Resources, what constitutes the key element to the development of public or private institutions. The effective use of these resources should occur in an environment of integration of all the areas in which they will be used, since its careful implementation leads to important changes in work methods and processes. As we live in the Information Age, where knowledge is considered a differential aspect, the Information Systems have a highly significant role in data compilation and decision-making support, as well as in the standardization of the communication among different sectors of the organization, integrating its productive processes and sensibly helping in the decisive and operational processes. No elenco dessas ferramentas estão os Sistemas de Informação, que se aplicam a todos os níveis da empresa, do operacional ao estratégico. A partir do entendimento da estrutura e cultura da organização, buscam-se os elementos necessários para atender aos seus níveis de satisfação, missão e necessidades. <p>Disertacija se bavi utvrđivanjem smera i intenziteta<br />uticaja informacionih tehnologija na pojedine<br />organizacione i poslovne performanse u preduzećima<br />u Srbiji. Pri tme su posmatrane sledeće performanse:<br />zadovoljstvo poslom, zadovoljstvo komunikacijom, organizaciona posvećenost, međusobno poverenje na<br />poslu, organizacionoo učenje, finansijske<br />performanse i profesionalni respekt prema lideru.<br />Istraživanje je realizovano u preduzećima u Srbiji,<br />tako &scaron;to su ispitanici (srednji menadžeri) popunili<br />upitnike. Za istraživanje su kori&scaron;ćeni odgovori od<br />ukupno N = 380 srednjih menadžera iz 102<br />preduzeća. Najvažniji rezultati istraživanja su sledeći:<br />1. Utvrđen je postojeći nivo savremenosti i primene<br />informacionih tehnologija, kao i nivo pažnje koja se<br />poklanja informacionim tehnologijama, u<br />preduzećima u Srbiji. 2. Utvrđeno je stanje<br />informacionih tehnologija u zavisnosti od nekoliko<br />kriterijuma: pol CEO, godine CEO, vlasnička<br />struktura preduzeća, finansijske performanse, profesionalni respekt prema lideru i poverenje u<br />akcije menadžmenta. 3. Utvrđeno je da su<br />informacione tehnologije pokazatelj nivoa<br />posmatranih organizacionih i poslovnih performansi.<br />4. Utvrđeno je da postoji statistički značajan uticaj<br />informacionih tehnologija na posmatrane<br />organizacione i poslovne performanse. 5. Ispitana su i<br />definisana moderatorna dejstva tri moderatora:<br />Profesionalni respekt prema lideru, Poverenje u<br />akcije menadžmenta i Vlasnička struktura preduzeća, na odnos informacionih tehnologija i zadovoljstva<br />komunikacijom i organizacionog učenja. 6. Definisane su preporuke za lidere i menadžere u vezi<br />sa tim kako unaprediti performanse preduzeća,<br />posmatrano iz perspektive informacionih tehnologija<br />i njihove primene.</p> / <p>The dissertation deals with determining the direction<br />and intensity of the impact of information<br />technologies on individual and organizational<br />performance of companies in Serbia. The survey was conducted in<br />companies in Serbia, by the respondents (middle<br />managers) completing questionnaires. The most<br />important results of the research are as follows: 1.<br />Defined is the current level of modernity and<br />application of information technologies, as well as the<br />level of attention paid to information technologies in<br />companies in Serbia. 2. Defined is the situation of<br />information technologies depending on several<br />criteria: gender of the CEO, age of the CEO, the<br />ownership structure of the company, financial<br />performance, professional respect for the leader and<br />trust in the actions of management. 3. It is found that<br />information technologies are an indicator of the level<br />of the observed organizational and business<br />performance. 4. It is found that there is a statistically<br />significant impact of information technologies on the<br />observed organizational and business performance. 5. Tested and defined are the moderating effects of three<br />moderators: professional respect for the leader, trust<br />in the action of management and ownership structure<br />of the company, on the relationship of information<br />technologies and communication satisfaction and<br />organizational learning. 6. There are defined<br />recommendations for leaders and managers in this<br />regard to improve the performance of the company,<br />from the perspective of information technologies and<br />their application.</p>

El trabajo se centra en el estudio de la influencia de las tecnologías de la información (TI) en los resultados de las empresas desde la enfoque de recursos y capacidades. A partir del análisis controvertido de la bibliografía existente hasta la década de los 90, se propone un modelo de medida de las TI, de las ventajas competitivas internas y externas que dichas tecnologías son susceptibles de generar y su repercusión sobre el rendimiento de las empresas. El análisis empírico realizado sobre una muestra de 186 empresas, determina relaciones significativas entre el esfuerzo inversor en TI y las ventajas competitivas generadas, que junto con la existencia complementaria de factores organizativos contingentes influyen de forma positiva sobre el rendimiento de las empresas. / The work concentrates on the study of the information technologies (IT) influences on the results of the companies from the Resource-based Approach. From the controversial analysis of the existing bibliography until the decade of the 90, we propose a measurement model of IT, its internal and external competitive advantages that these technologies are susceptible to generate and its repercussion on the companies performance. The empirical analysis made on a sample of 186 companies, determines significant relations between the investing effort in IT and the generated competitive advantages, that along with the complementary existence of contingent organizational factors, influence in a positive way on the firms performance.

From Machine House To Smart Home: The Relationship Between Technology And Private Sphere Throughout The 20th Century

This study is an attempt for providing a socio-historical perspective to the smart home concept that is a proposal for the future domestic sphere by the application of intelligent technologies. For achieving this attempt, the smart home is investigated with its roots within the social history of domestic technology, by posing the question of a relation between the machine house idea of modern architecture and the smart home concept as the main question of the research. After an inquiry on the smart home concept and on the future private sphere that is envisaged within it, the emergence of modern private sphere, the transformation of private sphere under the impacts of industrialization, the appearance and the social consequences of the machine house idea, the introduction of mass produced appliances to the home and the impacts of it on private sphere, the development of communication and information technologies and their domestication processes are investigated. The coconstructive relationship of technology with the private sphere is pursued throughout this investigation. The research questions of the study are answered in the light of the gained knowledge and critical perspective throughout the investigations. At the end, it is revealed that the smart home has conceptual, technical, and ideological constructive roots within the histories of the modern private sphere, modern architecture and design, and domestic communication and information technologies. It is discussed that these roots constitute the smart home as a domain of social reproduction, which also provides the ground for its conceptualization and promotion as the future domestic sphere.

Land Degradation Assessment For An Abandoned Coal Mine With Geospatial Information Technologies

This study proposes an approach for land degradation assessment for an abandoned coal mine by using geospatial information technologies. The land degradation assessment focuses on two major changes: topographical and Land Use and Land Cover (LULC). For this purpose, stereo aerial photos, Worldview-1, Landsat and ASTER images, Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) data, Global Positioning System (GPS) data, and ancillary maps were used for abandoned Ovacik surface coal mine. Volume of excavations and fillings, drainage network deviations, and slope instabilities were the investigated topographical disturbances by comparison of the Digital Elevation Models (DEM) for pre- and post-mining stages. Using aerial photos and Worldview-1 satellite image, LULC maps were prepared based on the same time period. Then areal extent and spatial pattern of the LULC change was calculated and mapped by post classification comparison method. The results of land degradation assessment show that there was a significant topographical disturbance and LULC change in the research area. Particularly, three dump areas with a total volume of 2,334,878 m3 were identified by DEM subtraction. It was found that stream network around the primary dump site shifted towards south with a maximum displacement of 60m. Slope analysis reveals that slopes higher that 60 degrees were mainly observed in excavation area with 81 percent. LULC change study showed that the forest area decreased an amount of 106,485 m2 from 1951 to 2008. However / by means of the forestation efforts in dump sites, an amount of 106,012 m2 forest land was recovered.
