This thesis deals with the position of journalists in the situation of armed conflict, It is a category of persons, whose protection within the international humanitarian law has been discussed for many years. Mediation of information from the area of armed conflict is a growing phenomen and because of the technical equipment, it relates more and more to laymen, not just professionals. The question whether journalist should enjoy special protection in the situation of armed conflict was raised already in the process of adopting the Additional Protocols, the so far latest source of the "Geneva law". Since then, it has been subject to many iniciatives, whose aim is to emphasize the role and value of journalists on the battlefield and ensure them more safety. On the other hand, it is obvious that journalists are not an a priori object, which should be protected by the humanitarian law - victims of the armed conflict, either among combatants or civilists. The thesis therefore tries to map the current legislation (embodied mostly in the Geneva Conventions and the Additional Protocols) and its historical and factual context. Este trabalho tem como proposta analisar algumas obras de divulgação da história. Centraliza-se a pesquisa nos trabalhos dos mais bem-sucedidos jornalistas-historiadores brasileiros: Eduardo Bueno, autor da Coleção Terra Brasilis e Laurentino Gomes, autor de 1808, 1822 e 1889. Uma das hipóteses centrais da dissertação é que dentro do campo da história, essas obras participam de uma luta pelo monopólio das representações do passado. Por isso, investigam-se os distanciamentos e as aproximações entre a escrita histórica e a escrita jornalística, estabelecendo uma relação entre textos e paratextos para entender sua produção e as condições socioculturais que permitiram sua emergência. Além disso, analisam-se os papéis que são interpretados pela mídia, pela crítica especializada, pelas editoras e pelos próprios autores na composição e repercussão daqueles livros. / The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze some historical divulgation books. The research has focused on the most successful brazilian journalists-historians: Eduardo Bueno, author of the Coleção Terra Brasilis and Laurentino Gomes, author of 1808, 1822 and 1889. One of the most important hypothesis of this dissertation is that inside the fields of history, divulgation works have participated in a contest for monopoly of representations of the past. This study has been exploring the approach and the gaps between historical writing and journalistic writing. It establishes a relation between texts and paratexts to understand the production of those publications and the sociocultural conditions for their emergence. The roles interpreted by media, by experienced book reviews, by publishing companies and by the authors are analyzed in the composition and repercution of those books.

A dissertação dedica-se ao estudo do manuscrito e à edição dos contos O relógio, O golpe de ar, O Bamba, O fugitivo, A viúva por demais fiel e Serenidade, publicados por Mário de Andrade, com os pseudônimos Luís Antônio Marques e Luís Pinho, no periódico paulistano Diário Nacional, em 1930. Os contos são inéditos e fazem parte do manuscrito Contos curtos, no arquivo do escritor. A pesquisa analisa e edita os documentos à luz da arquivística, da codicologia e da crítica genética. A abordagem do manuscrito considera a criação de Mário de Andrade como ficcionista. / The dissertation is dedicated to the study of the manuscript and the edition of the tales O relógio, O golpe de ar, O Bamba, O fugitivo, A viúva por demais fiel and Serenidade, published by Mário de Andrade, with the pseudonyms of Luís Antônio Marques and Luís Pinho, in the Paulistan journal Diário Nacional, in 1930. The stories are original and belong to the manuscript Contos curtos, in the writers archive. The research analyzes and edits the documents in the light of Archivistic, Codicology and Genetic Criticism. The approach to the manuscript takes into account the creation of Mário de Andrade as fiction writer.

Em um mercado tão fortemente regulado como o de valores mobiliários, principalmente no que tange à divulgação de informações, é pertinente a indagação sobre a viabilidade de uma regulação específica sobre a atividade do jornalista especializado na área (o jornalista financeiro). O jornalista financeiro possui papel relevante neste mercado, pois atua na democratização da informação, atingindo, principalmente, os pequenos investidores. Todavia, a atividade jornalística, não realizada em conformidade com os objetivos do mercado de capitais, pode acarretar diversos problemas a este setor, advindos de conflitos de interesses, publicação de informações falsas, falta de conhecimento técnico sobre a matéria etc. Portanto, há necessidade de criação de normas de conduta que guiem os jornalistas a uma atuação ética e não atentatória aos princípios do mercado de valores mobiliários, incluindo o princípio da divulgação plena (full disclosure). Em 15 de agosto de 2007, a Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM) decidiu colocar em pauta discussão sobre a regulação dos jornalistas financeiros, por meio da publicação do Edital de Audiência Pública nº 09/07 (Edital), que propunha a alteração da Instrução CVM n.° 388, de 30 de abril de 2003 (ICVM 388), norma que regulava a atividade dos analistas de valores mobiliários. Utilizando-se do Edital, a CVM, na qualidade de órgão regulador estatal do mercado de capitais, tentou criar o que ela denominou de safe harbor, i. e. um porto seguro para o exercício da profissão, distinguindo tal atividade daquelas exercidas pelos analistas de valores mobiliários. A minuta da ICVM 388 continha determinados requisitos que dispensariam o jornalista de ser registrado na CVM como analista, mesmo nos casos em que ele atuasse como tal. Não obstante, o Edital foi duramente criticado pelo mercado e as alterações propostas não se concretizaram. Atualmente, no Brasil, a atividade específica do jornalista financeiro não é regulada por qualquer órgão estatal ou autorregulador. O presente trabalho se valerá do estudo de casos práticos envolvendo a regulação estatal e a autorregulação, com o objetivo de encontrar soluções para a criação do melhor conjunto regulatório para o jornalismo financeiro. A discussão sobre a regulação do jornalista é polêmica, e deve ser concebida de forma que não afete a liberdade do jornalista e que, em nenhum momento, possa ser equiparada à censura, que anula o princípio da liberdade de expressão e da liberdade de imprensa tão arduamente conquistados no Brasil. / In a market strongly regulated as the securities market, when making reference to the disclosure of information therein, it is important to inquire about the viability of a specific regulation on the activity of the journalist with expertise in such area (the financial journalist). The financial journalist plays an important role in this market, as he/she acts in the democratization of information, which may affect small investors. Thus, journalistic activity not performed in accordance with the objectives of the securities market may create several problems in this sector, which arise from conflicts of interest, publication of false information, lack of technical knowledge on the subject matter, amongst others. Therefore, it is necessary to create standards of conduct that guides journalists towards an ethical behavior which does not oppose the securities markets principles, including full disclosure. On 15 August 2007, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (CVM) decided to open for public discussion the financial journalists regulation topic through the publication of the Public Hearing Notice No. 09/07 (the Notice), which proposed an amendment to the CVM Instruction No. 388 of April 30 2003 (\"ICVM 388\") rule which regulated the activity of securities analysts. Through the Notice, the CVM, in its capacity of securities regulator, tried to create what it called a \"safe harbor\" for the profession, distinguishing this activity from the one exercised by securities analysts. The draft of the ICVM 388 contained certain requirements that would excuse the journalist from registering with the CVM as an analyst, even in those cases where he/she acts as an analyst. Nevertheless, the Notice was strongly criticized by the market and the proposed changes were not carried through. In Brazil, the specific activity of the financial journalist is currently not regulated by any agency or self-regulatory organization. The present work will analyze some case studies involving governmental regulation and self-regulation, with the aim of finding solutions to create the best regulatory set for the financial journalism. The discussion which surrounds the journalists regulation is controversial. Such regulation shall be designed in a way which does not affect the freedom of the journalist and, at no time, can it be equated with censorship, which curtains the hardly conquered principles of freedom of expression and freedom of press.

Estudo analisa questões de organização e recuperação de informação em repositórios de jornais on-line. Destaca aspectos do suporte hipermídia, estrutura informativa do documento digital e gênero do conteúdo da informação jornalística on-line; aborda a noção de memória como atributo de ativação e conexão de informações no contexto da Web; descreve a estrutura básica de mecanismos de busca e traça o perfil de jornalistas no âmbito da convergência digital. Para investigar potenciais dificuldades de pesquisa e recuperação de informação, adota-se pesquisa exploratória para inspeção das interfaces similares de mecanismos de busca de jornais selecionados, nacionais e estrangeiros, e questionário on-line para identificar a percepção de usuários especialistas, jornalistas, sobre o uso de mecanismos de busca interna na rotina de trabalho. Como resultado, discute-se sensibilidades dos atributos de pesquisa, padrões técnicos de tratamento da informação, carências do processo de pesquisa e fatores de satisfação para recuperação de informação em ambiente digital. / Study examines issues of organization and information retrieval in online newspapers\' repositories. Highlights aspects of hypermedia, informative structure of the digital document and some genres of the online journalistic information; It addresses the concept of memory as attribute of activation and connection of information in the Web context; It describes the basic structure of search engines and traces the journalists\' profile within the aspect of digital convergence. To investigate potential difficulties of search and information retrieval, exploratory research is adopted to inspect similar interfaces of search engine, in national and foreign selected newspapers; in addition, an online questionnaire is used to identify the perception of expert users about the use internal search engines, based on the work routine of journalists. As a result of these investigations, study shows some sensitivities of search attributes, standards of information processing, research process and satisfaction factors for information retrieval in digital context.

This thesis is focused on chosen attributes of a journalist profession in Mexico related to the topics of ethics, professionalism and security. This thesis considers various aspects that affect performance of this profession, such as current political and economic situation in the country or historical context. It also concentrates on a basic description of normative environment of Mexican media system. This thesis analyses regulations of Mexican journalism done by the state, also a degree of political parallelism, a situation of self-regulation of journalism and a status of journalists within the editorial office and the Mexican society. Furthermore, this study takes into account specific challenges of Mexico. Namely, problems of drug trafficking, high level of corruption and clientelism, which cause high crime not only among journalists but the whole society. These aspects are discussed in the presented study. Regarding the above- mentioned challenges in the country, the thesis also focuses on security and seeks reasons for limited security of Mexican journalists. The practical part presents views of Mexican journalists on the profession of journalism in Mexico. Since journalism is perceived as a mirror of society, this study also provides insights into Mexican society as such.

formação do jornalista como profissional crítico, ético e inovador, cuja atuação, pautada no interesse público, destine-se a consagrar o princípio de que o jornalismo só se constitui em jornalismo de fato se garantir ao cidadão o direito à informação precisa, correta e honesta. Em busca do refinamento de suas questões e hipóteses de origem, a pesquisa adota como objeto de estudo a formação específica do radiojornalista e como metodologia a abordagem qualitativa para análise de um corpus que reúne relatos de experiências, tanto no desenvolvimento de TCCs de jornalismo (produtos e monografias) como no ensino do radiojornalismo. Esses relatos expõem dificuldades, falhas e insucessos, descrevem iniciativas promissoras ou bem-sucedidas e sugerem propostas com viabilidade atestada ou a testar que justificam sua inclusão numa amostra sem representatividade quantitativa, porém sinalizadora de caminhos para a requalificação da formação do jornalista. O quadro referencial teórico que fundamenta o estudo articula-se estruturalmente à apresentação e análise do seu corpus, de modo a sustentar um percurso que se constrói pelo questionamento contínuo de seus resultados parciais até chegar a algumas proposições sobre as condições necessárias à operacionalização e formatação de TCCs concebidos e materializados como projetos de experimentação de futuros radiojornalistas de interesse público. / This dissertation\" goal is to discuss the contribution of Course Works in the formation of the journalist as a critic, ethical and innovative professional, whose performance must be based in the public interest and designed to enshrine the principle that the existence of journalism depends on ensuring citizens\' right to accurate, correct and honest information. In order to refine its original questions and hypotheses, this research takes as object of study the formation of the radiojournalist. As methodology is employed a qualitative approach in order to analyze a corpus which includes both reports of experiences from journalism students developing Course Works as well as along radiojournalism education. These reports expose difficulties, shortcomings and failures. It also describes promising or successful initiatives and suggests proposals which justify their inclusion in a sample which, although not representative in quantitative terms, indicates paths for revamping the education of journalism. The theoretical framework which underlies this study is integrated with the presentation and analysis of its corpus. Throughout the continuous questioning of partial results, this dissertation put on the spotlight some propositions about the necessary conditions to establish and format Course Works designed and materialized as experimental projects for radiojournalists based on the public interest.
