These actions are heterogeneous social products which include the interaction of human and non-human elements and form a socio-technical network. Among the elements of this network, we focused on the actions held by the federal government, the lesbian social movements and the academy. In this interaction, academy made itself present through the production of knowledge that lay the foundation for the lesbian social movement´s actions and demands; the government positioned itself as the interlocutor and receptor of those demands and transformed them into public policies. The procedures used in this research included the analysis of public domain documents that were the federal government s responsibility, interviews with some actresses that participated on the network formed around the lesbian s health, and field notes. The analysis were based on Actor- Network Theory and the discursive practices approach. The results show us that the claims for health are part of the lesbian social movement s organization and visibility strategies, which generated new norms and forms of pathologization of their sexual practices. The demarcation of the limits of normality by the federal government´s health policies occured through the focus on vulnerabilities to infection by STD/HVI/ Aids and viral hepatitis, through breast and cervical cancer, through the (domestic, sexual and institution) violence committed against lesbians and through the experiences of prejudice and discrimination / Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo compreender como se deu a atuação do governo federal, dos movimentos sociais e da academia na construção de políticas de saúde destinadas às lésbicas e como estas aparecem nessas ações.

Methods: this was an exploratory study and descriptive, transversal and qualitative character. The sample was composed of 18 participants defined lesbian women, with ages ranging from 19 to 42 years (M = 26; DP = 6.1). For the collection of data was used a demographic questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The collection came from a participant matrix and followed the selection of new participants by the method of "snowball". The data from the demographic questionnaire were analyzed through descriptive statistics in PASW Statistics Software (SPSS) for Mac-23 version, the data obtained in the interviews were analyzed by analyzing thematic category MAXQDA software 11-Data Analysis Qualitative Software (qualitative data analysis Software). Results: Were applicants in the accounts the idea of greater vulnerability associated with the male presence in the relationship, getting behind in speeches that the only relationship between women could be a protective factor. Reports emerged about the absence of further clarification about the existence, use and effectiveness of preventive inputs to STD's that can be used in relations between women. Were highlighted in the speeches that the alleged methods available would not own, or designed to prevent the STDs among women, considering that most of these means of prevention would be adaptations of existing methods, as the male condom or unlubricated adaptations of items which originally would be used for other purposes (plastic film, PVC gloves, latex barrier use in dentistry). Confidence in the partnership and in the existence of a presumed fidelity were cited as elements of prevention strategies. The bias was related to lack of campaigns that drive the lesbians on the need to prevent sexual relations, and stigma to the myth that lesbians would be marginalized women. The presence of the element constraint was highlighted as a factor preventing the search for Gynecological medical care. The lack of preparation of health professionals emerged as an element that can influence on increasing the vulnerability of this population health. More than half of the participants stated that often reveal their sexual orientation to doctors gynecologists, which may indicate a breakthrough for Lesbian visibility. It is concluded that the factors of programmatic can influence more evident to the worsening in the situations of vulnerability to health of lesbians, although elements of individual and social dimension also are associated and these misdeeds. These findings may serve as a framework that highlights elements of individual, social order, as well as deficiencies in programmatic, that relate and can influence for the most vulnerable situation in health of lesbians.

Marcelo Daniliauskas 11 March 2016 (has links)
This research analyzes the process of emergence of organized groups of LGBT youth and their engagement. Semi-structured interviews were held with founders and coordinators of LGBT youth groups and field observation with the activities developed by the entities, which allowed discuss and describe: the emergence of such groups, their modes of organization and operation, their struggles themes and forms of action, such as their profile and engagement process. Thus it was possible to trace a historical overview involving the following organizations actives in São Paulo: Projeto de Apoio a Gays e Lésbicas Adolescentes (Pagla), E-Jovem, XTeens, Jovens e Adolescentes Homossexuais (JA) and Projeto Purpurina; As well as outline the current situation in Paris focusing on the following groups: MAG - Jeunes LGBT, Pôle Jeunesse, CONTACT e Le Refuge. These organizations hold meetings, online and off-line, of mutual support aimed at young people, which ranges from 13 to 29 years and cover mainly: self-acceptance, conflicts in the family, with friends, at school, university and work. Groups and young have reservations about the institutional policy (governments, parties, elections, opportunities for participation and social control), for them politics means promoting social change from their everyday lives, which can eventually move by specific claims regarding legislation, policies or public services.

Duas mães? Mulheres lésbicas e maternidade / Two moms? Lesbians and motherhood

Maria Eduarda Cavadinha Corrêa 25 April 2012 (has links)
In our society, the heterosexual relationship still appears to be the only legitimate form to be a couple or to be a family. However, an increasing number of people who challenge the normative discourse are seeking for same-sex partnerships, often associating these partnerships to the experience of parenting, with biological or adoptive children. The increasing discussions about reproductive and sexual rights and the emergence of new family arrangements, including the one formed by homosexual couples, began to deconstruct the ideal model of nuclear family and its opens up the way for new discussions such as lesbian motherhood. This study intend to contribute to the homoparenthood debate, by demonstrating the specificities between these women and their ways to construct an intimate citizenship within the context of Brazilian heternormative society. To do so, the following overall aim was: to comprehend the parenthood concepts of lesbian women who seek pregnancy through known or unknown semen donor. The proposed study is based on the assumptions of qualitative research, which means that the subjects discourse was the source of information. Twelve lesbians were interviewed between the years 2009 and 2011. The data were transcribed, organized and analyzed. From the results, it was revealed that the motherhood experience by lesbians depends on several factors such as historical, cultural, social, juridical, legal, economic, public policies, and, of course, the personal history of each of these women. Thus, for women who come out as a lesbian in a heteronormative society and at the same time, opt for motherhood, they have a hard road to face. The solution seems to be to struggle for citizenship and human rights consolidation. So, its important working up this issue in academic studies and to discuss with other spheres of public policy and social life, including public health

Guilherme Silva de Almeida 30 June 2005 (has links)
The academical production motivated by HIV and Aids epidemic has impelled researches related to the sexuality configurating new investigations fields, mainly about gays. However, in Brazil, its not significant the academical production which addresses to the STD vulnerability taking into an account the lesbian identity. The sexual health of women, expected to be heterosexual, was be connected to the unique preoccupation about the reproduction. Along the course of policies in terms of the attention to the womens health, even facing AIDS. In a more increasing way, considering the heterosexual female sexuality, the female homo sexual has tended, on the Brazilian society, to the invisibility toward the medical / gynaecologic speech. The epidemic contributed to this invisibility maintenance by strong beliefs in which the lesbian body would be the unique immune to the infection through the sexual via. This thesis objectives is based on the study about the change regarding the speech construction of the lesbian body since the first stages of the epidemic. More specifically, how a body that is immune to the epidemic is transformed into a vulnerable body. The hypothesis that guides this paper is centered on the idea in which the lesbian vulnerability is the passport to the affirmation / inclusion of a certain marl of identity in public policies. This way, the field in which the lesbian body dispute is drawn regarding STDs/AIDS is marked by tension between sexual practice and sexual identity.

The present study aimed to analyze the national policy of integral attention to the health of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transvestite and transsexual-LGBT population, in the scope of basic attention, as a guarantee of the right to health and expression of social justice. This is an investigative, descriptive and analytical study. The qualitative approach was used for the treatment of the results, from the speeches of the research subjects. With this aim the theory of the comprehensive and technical sociology of the speech of the collective subject of the professionals of the health teams and of the LGBT population was taken as base. To do so, interviews were conducted with health professionals and workshops with the LGBT population, in the cities of Campo Grande-MT, João Pessoa-PB and Vitória-ES. The analysis of the reports allowed to identify the indicative themes of invisibility and prejudice to the LGBT population. It also made it possible to infer the fragility of basic care professionals in the act of caring for people. In addition, the lack of knowledge and lack of implementation of the national LGBT policy was evidenced. It was verified that the health care is neither equitable nor integral, lacking to be inclusive and sensitive to the differences in the Family Health Units. This work defends integrality as a value to be adopted in professional practices. This completeness must be expressed in the way individual and institutional subjects should respond to the needs and expectations of users seeking health services. The guarantee of rights is only effective in the daily struggles of the individuals involved. Permanent education should be adopted as a strategy for qualifying management, care, training and social participation practices within the Unified Health System.

ABSTRACT The writing of this thesis is, in itself, a strategy to make lesbian movements an object of study and political lesbians, also known as “dykes”, the subject of research. The intention is to map the first lesbian organizations in Bahia, which emerged between 1970 and 2003. The theoretical and empirical question is centred around “lesbian invisibility”, perceived as an expression of lesbophobia - a social, cultural and political phenomenon that can only be eradicated by joint social action. The central argument is the assertion that the history of lesbian movements in Brazil is enmeshed in the hetero-feminist and LGBT movements, although its trajectory has been made invisible by these very movements. By emphasizing the political slogan “dykes don’t mess up”, the thesis asserts that lesbian politics concerns resistance, the power to make visible and promote lesbian existence at different historical moments. Given the challenge to break the academic silence about lesbian existence in Bahia, the study manifests a belief in the impermanence of things and in subjective experience as a departure point for the production of situated knowledge, focusing its analysis on the political, historical and formative experiences of lesbian organizations, while not forgetting that these dimensions are enmeshed and inseparable within the construction of the study object. To this end, it denies any and all essentialized notions of sexuality, while recognizing identity as something continuously produced and never complete. Situated within the field of feminist studies and developed from qualitative research, the thesis remains resistant to codes of normality and recognizes the need for a lesbian epistemology based on the intersectionality of categories. Following deconstructionism, the methodological approach is inspired by the philosophy of life and guided by “personal and political”, Exu and “Latin American” narratives, understanding that sources are not proofs or truths, but rather discourses that connect to one another and shape new discourses about the analysed context. The results suggest that the group of lesbian organizations analysed here constitute an expression of the lesbian political body, a collective body born at the time of the dictatorship, under the lesbian feminist banner, in an non-institutionalized fashion, through solidarity between lesbians and gays. It also suggests that, in the 1990s, this body became institutionalized into the NGO, and from 2003 onwards began to constitute itself as a network, entering into close dialogue with the federal government and becoming a continuous movement of affect and struggle for public policies. It further suggests that the Meeting of Lesbian and Bisexual Women of Bahia (Encontro de Lésbicas e Mulheres Bissexuais da Bahia: ENLESBI) is a more potent expression of the lesbian political body, which, since its emergence, has invested in a societal project formulated through lesbian feminist and anti-racist modes of living and thinking, which have taken root in the construction of women-only collectives and groups. Through the lens of Arroyo (2012) and Gohn (2012, 2012a), these groups are seen as territories for the production and dissemination of thought and movement that make lesbian existence visible outside private life and, as such, are arenas for female empowerment and strategies to confront hetero-patriarchal, racist and capitalist systems. Written in the first person, with no attempt at the truth, this thesis is characterized by activist knowledge; knowledge situated in the body of the dyke.
