Formativ bedömning i svenskämnet : En kvalitativ studie om hur lärare förhåller sig till begreppet formativ bedömning inom ramen för svenskämnet i åk 4–6 / Formative assessment in Swedish language education : A qualitative study of teacher’s approach to the concept of formative assessment within the framework of Swedish language education in grades 4–6

Karlsson, Isabelle January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to review how primary teachers in years 4–6 perceives and relates to the concept of formative assessment in work within the framework of the Swedish subject. The aim was also to find out to what extent teachers used formative assessment in their teaching, and if the continued teaching was based on the information about the student's current knowledge. The exploration of teachers' thoughts about the benefits and development opportunities of formative assessment was also a central aspect that the study intended to investigate.  Qualitative interviews with six Swedish teachers who taught grades 4–6 were conducted, with the aim of achieving the purpose of the study. The interviewed teachers came from three different schools and the results show that formative assessment is not used fully in the teaching by all the teachers, but that they still believe that formative assessment benefits the students' learning development. A consistent difficulty teachers experienced with the application of formative assessment was that it is time consuming. However, the teachers believe that the advantages they experience with formative assessment outweigh the disadvantages, and therefore they are positive about the use of the assessment form.

Srovnání dvou metod osobního rozvoje a jejich dopadu na chování / A comparison of two developmental methods and their impact on behaviour

Štěpánová, Irena January 2015 (has links)
The goal of my thesis is to compare the impact of two developmental methods (role playing and discussion about a video specially recorded for the developmental activity). In theoretical part I introduce employee development area from a psychological point of view and I describe psychological concepts in the background of concrete skills as leadership, self-management, communication and influencing. I strive for deeper understanding of ways we use to absorb these skills and understanding of possibilities to be used to enhance employees' development whether we mean the concrete developmental methods or training and development process management as a whole. This knowledge is applicable in training and development, which is an area, where my research is conducted. In empirical part I made two researches. In qualitative research I was identifying target group developmental needs to be able to set relevant developmental goals and chose developmental methods corresponding with actual needs of employees which is an important premise of influencing behaviour. In the main research part I conducted quasi-experiment where I compare the target group score before and after the developmental intervention. I compared statistically significant differences between scores in experimental groups and in control group....

No. of bitstreams: 1 Claudia B Fittipaldi.pdf: 1751747 bytes, checksum: fc239f348685e38ebd212f6c2161f311 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-05-18 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Based on the social-historical theory in Psychology, this study investigated if games can be an important pedagogical resource, when the aim is to promote the construction of school scientific concepts and the development of cognitive abilities of children attending Elementary School I, in interaction with more experienced partners. The subjects of the research were four 10-years-old boys, all of them on the 4th grade of basic schooling. They were involved in playing two games, both with each other and with the researcher. The results showed that when the students previous knowledge and abilities are considered, the children, even those considered as poor students, can elaborate new scientific concepts and a new and more abstract cognitive structure.

An investigation of the support offered by the institution level support team to the foundation phase teachers in a single school in Johannesburg.

Tebid, Celyne Ambeck 02 September 2010 (has links)
Some of the major difficulties encountered in embracing an inclusive education system are, lack of commitment, lack of resources as well as a poor understanding of how to support successful inclusion. The Education White Paper 6 (here after referred to as EWP6) states that, all children can learn, should be supported to learn and assured of equal and equitable education. The implementation of inclusion has been initiated by the EWP 6 (Department of Education, 2001) and is still in the process of developing the necessary education support services. At the school level, an institution level support team (ILST) should serve as a means of supporting learners experiencing learning difficulties. This study examined the perceptions of foundation phase teachers regarding the support they are getting from the ILST as well as finding out whether collaboration between the above mentioned bodies can help in addressing the issue of learner diversity in an inclusive classroom. The investigation was conducted at a school in the Northern suburb of Johannesburg. The foundation phase teachers and some members of the ILST were purposively included as participants. A case study design was chosen since this would allow for in-depth examination of the perceptions of foundation phase teachers regarding the support they are getting from their (ILST). The data collection process included questionnaires, oral follow up interviews, document analysis and observation. The data collected from the above sources has been analyzed according to themes and subthemes that emerged. The findings of the study show that, there is little or no collaboration between the foundation phase teachers and the ILST. It was also evident that the foundation phase teachers collaborate immensely amongst themselves in sharing ideas on how to support learners in their classrooms. Lastly, it was apparent that the support given to the foundation phase teachers was done solely by the learning support educator and not as a team with the other members of the ILST. The ILST on their part did not take time to actually define their roles in terms of how they would be functioning in rendering support to the foundation phase teachers. Based on the findings in this study, recommendations are made as to how to effectively support teachers as well as improve collaboration among all stake holders involved in inclusive practices.

Veteran Educators' Perceptions of the Internet's Impact on Learning and Social Development

Glowiak, Matthew Vincent 01 January 2014 (has links)
In a time where some 2.4 billion Internet users exist worldwide, children are increasingly impacted by the Internet's influence, both directly and indirectly. With technology now playing a significant role in childhood learning and social development, many unforeseen shifts are occurring that will ultimately impact lifespan development. Although researchers have provided mixed results concerning the impact of the Internet on learning and social development, the body of evidence indicates that veteran K-8 educators who are comfortable and experienced with the Internet view it more favorably. This grounded theory study systematically generated the multisystem technological engagement theory (MSTET) to explain the impact of the Internet on childhood learning and social development. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 14 self-identified veteran K-8 educators. Analysis of the data was conducted using a 3-tiered method of coding that was verified through the process of triangulation and member-checking. Results of this study indicate that the veteran K-8 educators perceived the Internet's impact as positive, given a specific set of conditions: experience and comfort with the Internet, collaboration with parents, a healthy balance between face-to-face and online social interactions, boundaries, and maximization of benefits from available information and resources. These findings may enhance social change initiatives by providing an evidence basis for both targeted instruction and school counseling practice that facilitates healthy K-8 learning and social development in the Internet Age.

January 2011 (has links)
Transdisciplinary and inter-relationships between evaluation and development of asynchronous learning through university course participants narratives in discussion forums / Transdisciplinaridade e inter-relaÃÃes entre avaliaÃÃo e desenvolvimento da aprendizagem assÃncrona atravÃs de narrativas de cursistas universitÃrios em fÃruns de discussÃo

Maria Iracema Pinho de Sousa 10 December 2015 (has links)
Among the global challenges, FACED during the last three decades, it is important to point out the different ways how the information, in the digital space and on the Web, is accessed, interrelated, in order to give a new meaning, according the aspect of building new knowledges. These changes are meaningful linked to paradigms break and crises between the areas of knowledge. In this scenario, the human society faces an unexpected rush of rapid transformations, mergers and birth of new areas of interdisciplinary knowledge, leading the educational process for continuous and challenging crisis. Progressively, the pedagogical use of ICT occupies the space of the once classroom and instructional conservative education, favoring granting scenarios to the pedagogical integration of: media, constructivism, autonomy, creativity and learning together. In the coming decades, it will take significant changes in the proposal evaluation, notably focused on the development of collaborative learning in asynchronous spaces, which raises profound reflections, concerning the theoretical and methodological and practice transpositions, which will focus on redefining and relationships between learning development and its assessment. This research, that is qualitative and action research, is included in the scenario of the development of collaborative educational activities, expressed by narratives, posted in the TelEduc discussion Forums, during the development of activities on a course of informatics in Education, offered by the Department of Education Foundations of FACED/UFC, where mostly attended graduate students. The didactic proposal of the course is based on the assumptions of the theory of Ausubel‟s meaningful learning, cognitive mapping, in Okada's vision, and on the learning together in the virtual space, according to Valente and Almeida. Two of his disciplinary thematic forums were chosen which addressed the topics of study: the educational use of concept maps and assumptions of formative assessment of learning, according the constructivist view (AUSUBEL; FERNANDES; MASETTO; PERRENOUD; ZABALA). Part of the Thesis theoretical framework permeates the assessment in a classical view and non-classical contributions, what point out to the need to rethink the assessment in a perspective of constructivism and asynchronous learning. The sets of narratives, posted by students, are made up of multidimensional data strongly intertwined, which were mapped and analyzed in the form of categories. This is done based on the theoretical framework and objectives adopted in this Thesis, from the perspective of the discursive textual analysis (MORAES; GALIAZZI) and the multi-dimensional analysis for qualitative data, making the use of software CHIC (ALMEIDA; ALMOULOUD; VALENTE). Then, starting from a similarity tree, generated by CHIC, hierarchical and relational interrelationships have been established between the categories, organized into three themes, and the narratives of the course participants. This is done in order to analyze, in a perspective of the theoretical framework of the Thesis, how learning can be developed and how the assessment, qualitative and formative, may be associated with the learning development. From the multidimensional analysis of the narratives of the course participants, and according a transdisciplinary perspective, it was emerged preliminary evidence of hierarchical and relational interrelationships, between the knowledge fields learning development, assessment and technological pedagogical content knowledge, and the collaborative pedagogical actions, experienced in the TelEduc Forums, that induce to rethink the assumptions of the assessment of learning and the future possibles ways of the pedagogical and assessment practices.

Changing practices and systems: Implementing the online learning community at the University of South Africa

Heydenrych, Jacob Frederik 15 June 2003 (has links)
This study reports on the use of action research methodology to generate a critical reflective collaborative setting. The aim was to infuse the institution with the results of this study in order to stimulate debate on the issues regarding change in practice and systems. The suitability of Internet communication technologies, more specifically the online learning community, is evaluated as a delivery mode that would address today’s learning needs. This required the collaborative construction of knowledge in a community setting with the teacher enabling communication and interaction, and facilitating and stimulating the sharing and testing of ideas and constructs. But such a learning scenario was found to be significantly challenging to the current print-based learning experience. It implied a challenge to teaching and support staff as well as the questioning of the efficiency and legitimacy of current instructional design staff and procedures used. The teaching responsibilities and commitment in the online community was outlined as against current print-based teaching practice. The current development and production culture, which restricts innovation and change in practice and systems significantly, came under pressure. The success of the online learning community in the Unisa context was nevertheless significant and it has the potential to serve as an opportunity to re-examine print-based production and delivery and to devise strategies and solutions to increase the quality significantly. / Faculty of Education / D. A ópera como mediador no processo de aprendizagem e desenvolvimento de crianças de baixa renda cursando a 1ª série do ensino fundamental: uma perspectiva vigotskiana / Opera as a mediator on the learning and development process of children from the lower socio-economic layers of the brazilian population, attending the 1st grade of basic schooling: a Vygostskian perspective

No. of bitstreams: 1 Maria Ceres Rodrigues Murad.pdf: 3686392 bytes, checksum: ccf7dcf1129072d6537c57a65867fbbb (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-06-02 / The present research shows how a project aimed to develop the reading, writing and drawing abilities of students from the lower economic layers of Brazilian population, as well as to improve their musicality, dancing and staging promotes learning and development for all children enrolled in the 1st. grade of basic schooling. For such, it was developed a project called Opera for All (OFAP), involving 31 pupils of a community school, located in the periphery of São Luís, Maranhão, a northeast state of Brazil. The basic assumptions of the research were taken from Vygotskian social historical theory, in special the idea that what is lived through concrete actions is converted in abstract material, in superior mental functions. Since this is an Art project, contradictions typical of this area were generated, provoking choc, destruction and also overcoming of these feelings, promoting, consequently, development. The study offers consistent results, especially in what concerns voluntary attention, self-regulation and self-knowledge. The research points out that: a) the rhyme is an important mediator for autonomous writing, notably when the students are in the processing of acquiring reading and writing abilities; b) observational drawing acts as a facilitator for the elaboration of personal drawings, offering details and references easily appropriated by 6 to 7 years old children; c) both rhymes and observation drawing, when practiced, promote voluntary attention, memory and imagination. The research concludes that the staging and the appreciation of an Opera by children, under the supervision of adults, using well structured activities and meaningful material, involve active and creative actions, which, in turn, propel human development / A presente pesquisa mostra como um projeto de apreciação, leitura, escrita, desenho, musicalização, dança e encenação de uma ópera pode promover a aprendizagem e o desenvolvimento de alunos oriundos das camadas de baixa renda da população brasileira, freqüentando a 1ª. Série do Ensino Fundamental.
