Une cinématographie et une scénographie d’avant-garde : Carlo Levi et le cinéma (1930-1950) / Avant-garde cinema and set design : Carlo Levi's contribution to cinema (1930-1950)

Oggero, Elisa 05 October 2012 (has links)
In recent years there have been many in depth studies and publications on Carlo Levi's literary and artistic works. However, a section of his work, in particular his work in set design, script writing and film making in general, has been largely neglected by critics. Carlo Levi's association with the film industry started at the beginning of the nineteen thirties and extended to the beginning of the nineteen fifties. During these years, Carlo Levi had the opportunity to work not only with famous artists like Enrico Paulucci, Italo Cremona and Carlo Mollino, with whom he designed the film sets of Patatrac and Pietro Micca, but also with men of letters of the stature of Mario Soldati, Rocco Scotellaro and Alberto Moravia. The aim of this study is to trace Carlo Levi's career in cinema using information found in archived documentation of various types and from various sources: from sets, synopses and story-boards but also in previously unpublished commercial contracts. The films that he produced cover all genres: from comedy to drama and from documentaries to musicals. Our work makes a hereto unknown section of Carlo Levi's work accessible, thereby contributing to the rediscovery of a major 20th century author.

Narrating survival in Primo Levi's If this is a man, and The drowned and the saved

Collopen, Leigh-Ann Mary 19 August 2008 (has links)
Abstract This research report explores the process of narrating survival in Primo Levi’s If This Is A Man and The Drowned and The Saved. The central objective is to understand the process of psychological survival is narrated in Levi’s autobiographical narrative. To this end, I have used a psychoanalytical framework to understand the traumatic impact of Auschwitz on subjectivity as well as to position subjectivity in relation to autobiographical narrative. I shall argue that the trauma of Auschwitz resulted in an eroded and shattered subjectivity and that narrative offers a space in which the reconstruction of that subjectivity can be negotiated.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Joao Alex Alves.pdf: 808658 bytes, checksum: 047b8b24d199f39fddf745544ba64058 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-05-18 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / Based on some of the different texts by the architect Rino Levi, in special: A arquitetura e a estética das cidades, São Paulo 1925 , O que há na arquitetura, 1939 , Acústica - Contribuição para a Solução do Problema da Acústica, 1936 , Mudam os Tempos, 1948 , Arquitetura é arte e ciência, 1949 , Síntese das Artes Plásticas, 1954 , Levantamento sobre as condições do ensino universitário da FAU-USP, 1956 , Evolução da arquitetura aula inaugural da Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Rio Grande do Sul, 1958 , Discurso de paraninfo da Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Rio Grande do Sul, 1958 , this research in History of Science shows aspects of his participation in the city of Sao Paulo development during the first half of the Twentieth Century, giving special attention to his ideas related to architecture as a field of knowledge. By exploiting certain points of the path taken by the architect since his formation and the publication of his first text to his professional practice already consolidated in the 50's and 60's in Sao Paulo this study emphasizes the contribution of Rino Levi for the institutionalization of architecture in Brazil. An attempt was made in this paper to relate social, cultural and economic aspects of that moment with information and ideas contained in Rino Levi s writings, as well as exposing how the architect has positioned itself in the face of the new architecture. The emergence of new materials made possible new ways and the industrialization brought with it various techniques for application in new construction, giving rise to modern architecture. Impacts of the actions of Rino Levi locally and internationally were also highlighted.

Interpreting references to the subject in philosophical writings

Nickless, David, M.A. January 2008 (has links)
In this thesis I will develop and test an interpretive framework for the Subject based on the understanding that an entity can be identified as a Subject if it is the necessary referent for an attribution. This understanding provides a template for approaching different Subjects, for considering the validity of their being identified as Subjects, and for reorienting the general discourse of the Subject away from an investigation of particular entities to one concerned with the contexts which support such identifications.

PROBLÈME DE GOURSAT POUR DES SYSTÈMES D'ÉQUATIONS AUX DÉRIVÉES PARTIELLES AVEC CONDITIONS DE LEVI

Seifoudini, Mohamed 07 December 2005 (has links) (PDF)

Ben Hadj Youssef, Hasna 30 October 2006 (has links) (PDF)
