January 2010 (has links)
Orientador: Giséle Manganelli Fernandes / Banca: Manuel Fernando Medina / Banca: Álvaro Luis Hattnher / Resumo: Este projeto examina as maneiras pelas quais a obra The Short-Timers (1979), de Gustav Hasford, e o filme Full Metal Jacket (1987), de Stanley Kubrick, revisitam a Guerra do Vietnã, dessacralizando a História oficial. This project investigates the ways in which Gustav Hasford's The Short-Timers (1979) and Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987) revisit the Vietnam War rethinking official History. In his novel, The Short-Timers, the Vietnam veteran Gustav Hasford narrates the path of a soldier and his mates during military training and later combat in Vietnam. Taking this soldier's perspective, the narrator focuses on this episode in American history differently than usual; that is, calling attention to the anguish and pains that the troops go through on training and in battle. Stanley Kubrick directed the adaptation of this work into the film Full Metal Jacket, in which can be noticed how war can be critically reevaluated. The filmmaker presents personal accounts by the main character. For the analyses, theories about the relationship between Literature and History (Hutcheon, 1989, 1993; White, 1985; Benjamin, 1985) and Post-Modernism (Jameson, 1997; Hutcheon, 1989) will be used. Based on those theories, we propose to investigate how Literature and Cinema represent the Vietnam War showing other points of view about this conflict / Mestre

Anita Garibaldi coberta por histórias /Ribeiro, Fernanda Aparecida. January 2010 (has links)
Constata-se, desta forma, como a literatura cumpre o papel de leitora privilegiada da históri / Abstract: According to the theory of the Contemporary Historical Novel in Latin America and on the Feminist Literary Criticism, this study aims to investigate the construction of the female character Anita Garibaldi in Latin American novels, from the historical model built by Giuseppe Garibaldi in his Memórias (1860). By idealizing his female companion, in this narrative, the Italian hero builds the image of a warrior woman who moves herself in the public space. Even according to Garibaldi‟s text, later historians complemented the biography of the Brazilian heroine by highlighting her experience in the private space where she accomplished the role that the society granted the women of the nineteenth century. So, the model that History presents is one of an ambiguous woman who passes between the public space, open and the private space, close. The work presented here shows how each novelist recreates Anita‟s image, moving away from the historical prototype created by Garibaldi or approaching it. With this purpose, we chose as literary corpus the novels A guerrilheira (1979) by the Brazilian writer João Felício dos Santos; Anita (1999), by another Brazilian writer, Flávio Aguiar; Anita Garibaldi (2003) by the Argentine writer Julio A. Sierra; and Anita cubierta de arena (2003) by the also Argentine writer Alicia Dujovne Ortiz. In all of them, one verifies the intention of redeeming a character of the History acclaimed as heroine whose image was discursively elaborated by a man who granted her male characteristics. One notes, for that reason, how literature fulfills its role of privileged reader of History / Doutor

This dissertation analyzes the discursive constructions on work in four tales of Roniwalter Jatobá (1979): “The Left hand”; “Accommodation”; “The red cloth”; “Workers “. Jatobá creates a critical vision of work in relation to migrant workers unsuitable in São Paulo during the 1960s and 1970s. Interpret and discuss the work of vision in Jatobá is the objective of the dissertation. This dissertation part of a multidisciplinary perspective of Literature, Sociology, Social History and Philosophy of language. The discussion on the language and work as constitutive of the social considers the contributions of several authors that question what is the work and the language. In the area of language, the contributions of Bakhtin/Voloshinov (2004) help think critically about the social and ideological construction of the existing awareness and dialogical relations in any discursive construction. In the area of work, the contributions of Marx (2013), Lukács (2012; 2013), Engels (2013), Gorz (2007), Lafargue (1980) and Sennett (2006) help to question what is the work and its importance for today. The brief discussion of some of the discourses in the work of the twentieth century Brazil comes from the Social Work History, De Decca (1995), Fontes (2004), Mattos (2009) e Chalhoub (2012). The study Roniwalter Jatoba speech context more the set of his works and his biography were essential for the analysis of literary corpus. The subject of the work, from the perspective of literary discourse, brings another critical point of view from the migrant worker himself. For this, Jatoba explores the worker's uniqueness in its human dimension in and out of work, the place of origin and destination, in dreams and frustrations created by the migrant worker unsuitable in São Paulo. In a social perspective and politically committed, it is concluded that Crônicas da vida operária allows other critical interpretations of the work and the urban worker in São Paulo of the 1960s and 1970s.

This dissertation consists of a discourse analysis of the labor world in the novel Jorge, um brasileiro, by Oswaldo França Junior, published in 1967. This research is theoretically founded - for the field of language and literature – on the concepts of Mikhail Bakhtin and the Circle, which enables the perception of certain artistic and compositional peculiarities in the novel structure from the dialogic matrix as a constitutive principle of all discourse. This research builds on the reflections on the labor world by thinkers who contributed to a more critical look at this issue such as Marx and Engels, Lukacs, Gorz, Marcuse and Antunes. This theoretical foundation is an excerpt of the framework of thinkers who are studied in the research project "The discursive formalization of the labor and technology spheres in Brazilian literary texts", Graduate Technology Program from the UTFPR, which this dissertation isconnected to. The discourses on labor are investigated considering the dichotomy between two ambivalent enunciation plans in the novel: the capitalist society, where the worker exploitation prevails, and the collective and socialized work, which creates a subtle symbolic universe in which labor and social relations can carry more human meanings. The foreground points to a certain fatalism in the journey of the worker who sells his workforce in the market society and, despite his strive, fails to disrupt social hierarchy or attain a more emancipated life. The background is taken symbolically as an area of resistance to today's production model, and presents an architecture endowed with some positivity through joint work in interaction with nature and through common leisure and mutual assistance moments among the nine truck drivers in the journey through inland Minas Gerais. Here, work is a socialization factor, which strongly criticizes the capitalist society where everything works according to the logics of an economic rationality.

A poesia de Cecília Meireles em busca do rosiclerCosta, Soraya Borges 31 January 2011 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This study investigates the imaginary in Metal rosicler by Cecilia Meireles, one of her last
books which was published in 1960. The aim is to analyze the relation of this book and the
structures of alchemy imaginary. As well as the spiritual alchemists searched for the
transmutation of insignificant metal in order to make it possible for men to reach the
enlightenment, in Metal rosicler there is the attempt to go through an ontological search by
linking the poetic to the alchemy symbolism, then as it happens in the alchemy process, it
reveals itself in the rosicler (the color of a rose). Started by poetry, the search indicates the
transmutation of the black stone- the raw rosicler metal- revealing from the depth a hidden
and sublime essence in alchemy rosicler. Such essence is the meaningful reason for the
search because it represents the desirable entirety in coincidentia oppositorum, and also the
integration of the opposites of androgeny. Thus, the transformation may only be completed
by performing the phases and the steps in the alchemy ritual: mortification in the nigredo,
the abstract ideality in the albedo leading to the whole life of red color in the rubedo. All
the symbolism untwines itself before the mitocriticism of poems which is based on
contributions of critique about imaginary and alchemy, such as: the imaginary
anthropology, according to Gilbert Durant`s work; phenomenology of poetic, as stated by
Carl Gustav Jung studies. The theoretical instrument purposed by Durand e Bachelard
concerns the imagination s dynamic creation and the strength of myths in peoples
representative productions throughout the years. Imaginary philosophy of alchemy is based
on Jung s deep psychology perspective which considers the relation between the alchemy
symbolism and the process of individualization of human being in the search of entirety of
himself. Mitocriticism work reveals the constellation of images which is a response for the
alchemy poetic of the book, how the symbols imbricate the imperishable into ephemeral;
the nocturnal images which join life and death; images of the air, the water, and the land
which brings in the transcendence; dissolution in the nigredo and molding the
androgynous, besides the mithemes of Hermes-Mercury in the alchemy become, the
symbols of mortification of black stone and the sublimination of rosicler in the rubedo.
Therefore, such journey reveals, in poems, the poetic melting pot of transmutation where
the lyrical itself searches the spiritual entirety in the extraction of rosicler.
estruturas do imaginário alquímico.
oculta e sublimada do rosicler.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This work aims to study, comparatively, the narrative Tristan and Isolde and homonymous Richard Wagner‟s opera. This study, of inter artistic transposition, analyses two versions, namely Tristão e Isolda, by Fernandel Abrantes and O Romance de Tristão e Isolda, by Joseph Bédier (translated by Luis Claudio de Castro e Costa), to build a relationship between both plots, setting, characters and time, to justify the choice of the versions, deriving from a series of recovered fragments as representative of the myth of Tristan. After the text of this research, we offer a literary analysis of Tristan and Isolde opera libretto as well as a brief explanation of the artist‟s composition procedures and a presentation of music critics who have studied Wagner‟s work. In an attempt to show the established proximities between the legend and the opera, we shall analyze comparatively the observations made about the narrative and the opera under the inter artistic transposition concepts.

Noel Rosa Pau-Brasil : poesia como falamos / Noel Rosa Pau-Brasil: poetry as we speakAndrade, Ênio Bernardes de 22 August 2017 (has links)
modernidade do século XX.
This research proposes the study of Noel Rosa's songs according to the precepts of the
Pau-Brasil poetry by Oswald de Andrade. Through the analysis of works from Noel’s
songbook, such as Conversa de botequim, Gago apaixonado and Três apitos, it can be
noticed that the so called “Poeta da Vila” materialized the practice of poetry "as we
speak" promulgated as a gesture of rupture by the Manifesto da Poesia Pau-Brasil.
Besides the use of a colloquial and current language among everyday facts, this
approach is not restricted to the text, passing through the observation of two
fundamental points. The melodies of the songs camouflage the speech intentions by
means of the intonative resources, constituting a way of singing, speaking singing,
according to the semiotic theory by Luiz Tatit; The songs realizes themselves as well as
the speech, by the voice. They are captured by the ear without the writing
intermediation, incorporating the vocal nuances beyond the word at the same time that
they constitute a performative act which involves the scenes’ dramatization, the musical
instrumentation , space and the listener, constituting a corporal reception, according to
the Paul Zumthor theoretical perspective. Noel Rosa is observed as a matrix of an aspect
in which this proximity to the speech occurs more clearly, as it can be seen in his simple
and direct texts melded into the melodies’ intonation, so as in the vocal interpretation of
the songs, especially when he is the interpreter himself. The “Poeta da Vila” is
compared to the Oswald de Andrade’s work aspects by the use of resources such as
humor and parody opposed to the seriousness of the doctors' offices, such as the
incorporation of the urban landscape into an updating process of the artistic practices to
the modernity of the 20th century. It is observed that despite the convergences, the two
authors’ universes did not intersect in their time, in which the song was not perceived in
the great arts category. However, in the 1960s, songwriters as Chico Buarque and
Caetano Veloso were identified as the main poets of their generation, with Noel Rosa
and Oswald de Andrade. In view of the difference in Noel Rosa’s work perception as
representative or not of his time poetry, so as the presence of the composers of song
pointed out among the roll of the great poets from the 1960 decade , a scene of
imprecision in the song understanding as poetic language is configured. / Dissertação (Mestrado)
