Um homem preocupado com a educação e crente do poder transformador desta na vida do ser humano. Por ter lutado pela implantação da primeira Universidade da Baixada Santista e por sua importância para a cidade de Santos, o objetivo deste trabalho é o de apresentar sua trajetória como educador e intelectual, além de preservar e manter viva sua memória. Esta pesquisa é qualitativa e, para analisar o perfil desse homem, foi utilizada como metodologia a histórico documental, sendo realizado um levantamento de seus escritos. Apesar de haver muitas fontes primárias, como documentos oficiais e pessoais, escritos, fotos, esses não eram suficientes para se analisar seus diferentes papéis na sociedade santista. Por isso, utilizou-se também da metodologia da história oral, através de entrevistas com pessoas que estudaram e trabalharam com ele, procurando obter mais informações a respeito desse intelectual. Foram realizadas 35 entrevistas, utilizando-se de um questionário semiestruturado, que confirmaram a sua importância para a educação na cidade de Santos, haja vista que ele empenhou-se por um ensino superior de qualidade, preparando professores para lecionarem através de cursos. Destaca-se também seu papel como intelectual dentro e fora da Universidade. O conceito de análise utilizado é o de intelectual mediador, desenvolvido por Ângela de Castro Gomes e Patrícia Hansen. Além desse, utiliza-se o conceito de intelectual e sua rede de sociabilidade, de Jean François Sirinelli. As entrevistas confirmaram que Waldemar foi um intelectual por seu trabalho no campo educacional e social, mediante seus escritos na mídia impressa e de suas aulas ministradas nas Universidades em que lecionou. Tais atuações atestam sua importância para a formação intelectual de seus ex-alunos e ex-paroquianos. Diante do que foi apresentado pode-se concluir que Waldemar Valle Martins foi um relevante intelectual mediador, visto que sua atuação através de sua rede de sociabilidade e influência junto ao Conselho Federal de Educação, contribuiu efusivamente para a implantação da Universidade Católica de Santos, um marco educacional importante para a cidade de Santos e região. / This dissertation presents a bit of the life and work of one of the important academic figures of the Santos society and who was the creation leader of the Catholic University of Santos, Waldemar Valle Martins. A man concerned with education and a believer of this transforming power in the life of the human being. For having fought for the implantation of the first University of Baixada Santista and for your importance for the city of Santos, the objective of this work is to present your trajectory as educator and intellectual, besides preserving and keeping alive your memory. This research is qualitative and, to analyze the profile of this man, was used as methodology the historical documentary, being carried out a survey of his writings. Although there were many primary sources, such as official and personal documents, writings, photos, these were not enough to analyze their different roles in the society of Santos. For this reason, it also used oral history methodology, through interviews with people who studied and worked with him, seeking more information about this intellectual. Thirty-five interviews were carried out using a semi-structured questionnaire, which confirmed its importance for education in the city of Santos, considering that it was committed to quality higher education, preparing teachers to teach through courses. His role as an intellectual inside and outside the University is also highlighted. The concept of analysis used is that of a mediator, developed by Ângela de Castro Gomes and Patricia Hansen. In addition to this, the concept of intellectual and his network of sociability, by Jean François Sirinelli, is used. The interviews confirmed that Waldemar was an intellectual for his work in the educational and social field, through his writings in the print media and his classes taught at the universities where he taught. These performances attest to its importance for the intellectual formation of your alumni and former parishioners. In view of what was presented, it can be concluded that Waldemar Valle Martins was a relevant mediating intellectual, since his work through his network of sociability and influence with the Federal Council of Education contributed effusively to the implementation of the Catholic University of Santos, a an important educational landmark for the city of Santos and the region.

Joel Martins contribution in the context of Brazilian Education, more specifically in the area of Educational Psychology, was remarkable for his new perspectives and approaches not only in theoretical questions but also in practice, for he broke through paradigms, incentivated and promoted researches with the spirit of an achiever and above all for his outstanding personality, which has been influencing his peers. At the same time it is necessary to enhance his relevant role at PUCUSP in several different aspects. The biographical method was used here, making it possible to compose Joel Martins biography. Documental and biographical sources were used, as well as interviews with people who knew him. In the conclusion the collection of data and the crossing of different information (personal, professional and some curiosities) were used, so that an outline of the character could be built under three aspects: his way of being, his intelectual characteristics and his commitment with knowledge and finally, his professional life and his commitment towards Education and University / O objetivo desta pesquisa é coletar e analisar dados referentes à biografia de Joel Martins, demonstrando sua trajetória e importância para a educação. A contribuição de Joel Martins no contexto da educação brasileira, mais especificamente na área de Psicologia da Educação, caracterizou-se por novas perspectivas e abordagens tanto de questões teóricas quanto práticas, por romper com paradigmas, incentivar e promover pesquisas com espírito empreendedor e, acima de tudo, por sua personalidade marcante, que influenciou e continua influenciando aqueles com quem se relacionou. Nesse contexto, cumpre destacar o papel relevante de Joel Martins na PUCSP em diversos aspectos. Utilizou-se o metodo biográfico, o que possibilitou a composição de uma contribuição para uma biografia de Joel Martins. Foram utilizados fontes documentais e bibliograficas e depoimentos de pessoas que conviverem com Joel Martins. Para tanto, foram confrontadas informações encontradas em diversas fontes primárias: Relatórios de Presidente de Província, relatórios de cônsules de países estrangeiros, documentos relativos à administração da Colônia, registros de casamentos e processos criminais. A pesquisa em si teve o intuito de compreender como os estrangeiros, e seus descendentes, (re)construíram suas existências em uma terra totalmente diferente da que estavam habituados. Busca-se entender também, como alguns espaços de sociabilidade foram marcados pelas diferenças do grupo que ali se instalou. Sob a denominação homogeneizante de colono (imigrante), ou mais especificamente de colono alemão, subsistiam fortes diferenças religiosas que refletiam em vários aspectos de vida dessas pessoas, inclusive territorialmente, marcando o traço da localidade como ―território‖ de católicos e de protestantes. Percebe-se também que o princípio de tolerância religiosa norteou as ações dos administradores da Província e do Império provavelmente, diante da importância econômica creditada ao empreendimento da imigração. Ou seja, mais do que a instalação de uma Colônia Teuta, Santa Isabel representa a imagem cultural dinâmica dos ―alemães‖ no Espírito Santo. / This present Dissertation - The Colony of Santa Isabel and its immigrants – intend to discuss the installation and aspects of life of Teutons immigrants in the colony of Santa Isabel, the first founded in the Espírito Santo, in the period between 1847 and 1889. To this end, we compare information found in the reports of the President of the Province, reports of the consuls of foreign countries, documents relating to the administration of the colony, records of marriages and criminal‘s process. The research itself has the intention to understand how foreigners, and their descendants, (re)build their existences in a land is completely different from what they were accustomed. We also try to understand, as some spaces of sociability were marked by differences of the group that settled there. Under the name of settler homogenizing (immigrant), or more specifically German settler, who remained strong religious differences reflected in various aspects of life such persons, including territorial, marking the trace of the location as "territory" of Catholics and Protestants. We also observe that the principle of religious tolerance has guided the actions of officers in the Province and the Empire, probably given the economic importance credited for the development of immigration. That means more than installing a Teuta‘s Colony, Santa Isabel is the cultural dynamic image of the "Germans" in the Espírito Santo.

Partindo da análise de conteúdo e iconográfica, da pesquisa sobre a tradição de representação do "louco" e da loucura na produção cultural imagética do ocidente, do estudo das implicações que a técnica fotográfica por si suscita, da análise história de veiculação e recepção das imagens, bem como de seus contextos culturais de produção; foi possível pontuar conceitos e pressupostos subjacentes à construção formal da representação do "louco" e da loucura nas imagens de cada um dos fotógrafos estudados. Este estudo permitiu identificar que elementos tradicionais de representação foram acessados pelos fotógrafos estudados, num movimento de perpetuação de formas tipificadas de compreender o diverso. Por outro lado, foi possível verificar que novos elementos compositivos surgiram relacionados com contextos específicos. Assim, este estudo, contribuindo para o desvelamento de formas tipificadas de representação do "louco" e da loucura, almeja representar um esforço no sentido de ampliar as possibilidades de crítica às construções imagéticas que circulam na sociedade, bem como para o questionamento de formas naturalizadas de apreensão destes sujeitos. / Abstract: This thesis discusses ways in which the representation of madmen and madness was built on images taken by four photographers who created photographic essays in Brazilian psychiatric hospitals during the twentieth-century - Alice Brill (1950), Leonid Streliaev (1971), Claudio Edinger (1989 -90) and Claudia Marshall (1997) - in order to unveil underlying social concepts about madness, while also highlighting specific elements that were naturalized in these constructions. The method was based on content analysis and iconographic research, We studied the traditional ways Western culture represents the insane in visual productions, and the implications raised by photographic techniques. We examined the history of transmission and reception of the images and the cultural contexts in which they emerged, so as to understand concepts and assumptions underlying the formal construction of the representation of the mad in the images of the photographers that were selected for this study. The results showed that traditional elements were accessed by the photographers, as a means of perpetuating characteristic modes of understanding diversity. Nevertheless, we observed that new compositional elements emerged, related to specific contexts. By questioning the naturalized ways that society has come to apprehend madness, by critically discussing the construction of images of madmen that circulate in society, our aim was to contribute to the unveiling of typified forms of representation of the mad and madness. / Doutorado / Artes / Doutor em Artes

A poesia de Augusto dos Anjos será comparada à produção poética de alguns poetas científicos, tendo em vista quatro linhas mestras escolhidas a partir da proposta da poética científica: as relações da poesia com as idéias científicas e filosóficas do positivismo; a adoção de uma estética do prosaico e do feio; a expressão dos sentimentos do eu-lírico; e a abertura para o contexto social. / This dissertation aims to demonstrate the influence of the scientific poetics on Augusto dos Anjos’ work. For this, it will be recuperate the appearance context of this aesthetics proposal, wich we will try to characterize from the work of Rocha Lima, Sílvio Romero and Martins Júnior. Augusto dos Anjos’ poetry will be compared to some scientific poets’ poetic production, considerating four master lines chosen from the scientific poetics proposal: the relations between the poetry and the scientific and philosophical ideas of the positivism; the adoption of a prosaic and unpleasing aesthetics; the expression of the self-lyric emotions; and the openning to the social context.

O estudo pretende investigar as imagens dos contos que retratam o cotidiano do Rio de Janeiro, analisando a dinâmica social da cidade, bem como a dinâmica de existência dos personagens que representam a população periférica carioca. A partir do complexo desenvolvimento das práticas governamentais que subjugam os corpos periféricos, e que exercem um tipo de poder verticalizado na forma de biopoder, assim como o executa sobre eles na forma de biopolítica, esta pesquisa busca demonstrar, a partir de O sol na cabeça (2018), como despontam através de pequenas insurgências um tipo de força que engana a submissão exercida pelo biopoder e por sua biopolítica, manifestando-se através da biopotência que se cumpre em confronto aos poderes investidos contra os corpos no trânsito da cidade. / [en] The dissertation has as object of analysis the tales book The sun on my head (2018) written by the carioca autor Geovani Martins. The study intends to investigate the images of the tales that represents the everyday of Rio de Janeiro, analysing the social dynamic of the city, as well the dynamic existence of the characters that represents the carioca peripheral population. As from the complex development of government practices that subjugates the peripheral bodies, and that exerts a type of verticalized power in the form of biopower, as execute over them a biopolitics, this researche desires demonstrate, as from The sun on my head (2018), how emerges through little insurgences a kind of force that tricks the submission exercised by the biopower and for your biopolitics, manifesting through the biopotency that carries out by the confront with the powers that are invested against the bodies in transit in the city.

Abstract Johnny Golightly Comes Home is a nonfiction novel about the writing of two books by Pat Hopkins. In particular it is an account of the author’s often troubled interaction with artist John Anthony Boerma, who once took on the persona of Johnny Golightly after reading Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It is a story about illusion and fantasy in the creation of a work of conceptual art. As the lies are stripped away, so a new character emerges – that of Johnny Gochristly, the messiah sent to take away the parameters of the world. And in this latter-day passion play the unwitting writer has the role of Judas. The accompanying reflexive essay reviews the themes as they appear in the book – especially those of epiphany brought on by trauma, which leads to a divine mission often associated with extreme eccentricity. It concludes with a section on the writing process.
