Estudo do comportamento das deformações em flanges obtidos pelo processo de estampagem incremental através de elementos finitos e projeto de um suporte modular / Study of the behavior of deformations in hole-flanging produced by incremental sheet forming using finite elements and design of a modular rig

A estampagem incremental é um processo de deformação incremental de chapa que pode ser classificado em três modos distintos: estampagem incremental sem matriz, estampagem incremental com matriz parcial e estampagem com matriz total. A deformação ocorre devido ao contato entre a ferramenta e a chapa, localmente e progressivamente, ao longo de uma trajetória pré-definida. A chapa permanece presa a suportes que fixam as suas extremidades de maneira a impedir os deslocamentos provocados pela passagem da ferramenta. A primeira parte deste trabalho compreende estudos em elementos finitos, usando o software LS-Dyna, sobre a trajetória das deformações na estampagem incremental para a fabricação de flanges em chapas previamente furadas de liga de alumínio AA1050. Foram realizados testes de contato e de linha que permitiram definir parâmetros da simulação. Os resultados para as deformações foram confrontados com os resultados obtidos experimentalmente por outros autores e permitiram verificar o comportamento das deformações nos flanges. As deformações crescem montonicamente até os valores máximos. Este resultado confirma a teoria de que na estampagem incremental de chapas a fratura ocorre sem o prévio aparecimento da estricção. A segunda parte deste trabalho trata do desenvolvimento de um suporte modular aplicável a estampagem incremental, tanto na sua variante sem matriz quanto com matriz, com o intuito de aumentar a flexibilidade do processo com relação à geometria da peça a ser deformada. Foi empregada a técnica de análise de valor objetivando alcançar a melhor funcionalidade do sistema. Como resultado foi obtido um suporte modular que atende os requisitos de rigidez, flexibilidade, modularidade, agilidade na troca da chapa a ser deformada e simplicidade construtiva. / The sheet incremental forming can be classified into three basic configurations, depending on the number of contact points between the sheet, tool and die (when present). Single incremental forming (absence of specific dies) and two point incremental forming (presence of a partial or full die) can be distinguished. The process makes use of a simple, low-cost, hemispherical tipped tool to precisely and progressively shape a blank into a metal sheet along a predefined tool path. The sheet is fixed onto the rig to prevent lateral displacements caused by tool movement. The first part of this work includes studies about finite elements, using the LS-Dyna software, applied to deformation path in hole-flanging produced by incremental sheet forming. The investigation was carried out using aluminum alloy AA1050. Contact and line numerical results support simulation parameters choices. The results from the strains were compared with empirical ones obtained by other authors. The results showed the deformation mechanics behavior of the hole-flanging. The strain paths of hole-flanging produced by incremental sheet forming grew linearly and monotonically from the origin to the maximum achievable strains. This result confirms the absence of local necking along plane strain directions. The second part of this work deals with the development of a modular rig that can be applied to dieless, partial or total die single point incremental forming in order to increase the flexibility of the process concerning the geometry of the part to be deformed. The result was a modular rig with constructive simplicity and requirements of stiffness, flexibility and modularity when exchanging sheets.

Therefore, it will be analyzed two truck and bus manufacturers, of the Brazilian, that adopted two different production process. Volkswagen Truck and Bus Modular Consortium, located in Resende city (RJ) has a revolutionary manufacture process, that the main company delegates the assemblies tasks, logistics and a portion of the product development to the 7 main suppliers. Each module manages its own workers, and just some specific department (engineering, quality assurance, marketing, sales and assistance) has Volkswagen employees. In the other hand, the A manufacturer has a vertical production process; it means that the main vehicle s component are made, and developed, by its own manufacture plant. The methodology used was based on non structured interviews with personal from the Human Resource / Logistics / Product Engineering Departments. The basic characteristic to delegate tasks, the Modular Consortium, optimizes the utilization of its employees. This factor, if analyzed by the Brazilian side, could be considered a negative point, due to its high level of unemployment. But this optimization could be related as an efficiency indicator of the Volkswagen Truck and Bus Modular Consortium. The fact that the Modular Consortium concept permits the main company to delegate secondary tasks allows it to concentrate in strategic areas like its mark and its market performance. / O objetivo geral neste trabalho ? analisar as vantagens competitivas, mais latentes, geradas pelo modelo de produ??o denominada cons?rcio modular. In the rapid pace of globalization and new market competition, the New Product Development (NPD) and the Supply Chain Management (SCM) represent today a frontier to obtain competitive advantages to companies. One interface between NPD and the SCM, the Supplier Integration (SI) has proved to be effective as competitive advantage. However, there is a lack of research on how human variables, such as national culture, can moderate the effectiveness of Supplier Integration on those fields. Therefore, this study investigates the relationships between Supplier Integration from the Product-Process-Supply Chain triad and the National Culture Dimensions. I conducted an exploratory case study in 3 companies in the automobilist industry that operates as a Modular Consortium (MC) in Southern Brazil and used the Hofstede´s (2001) national culture dimensions to model national cultural factors. The findings show an evident relation between Supplier Integration with the Low Power Distance, Low Individualism and High Uncertainty Avoidance poles, while no Masculinity and Longterm Orientation pole was distinct for the Supplier Integration in the case study. The managerial implications of this study is to provide a better understanding of the potential impact of human factor to the Supplier Integration in companies that will have operations in Brazil. / No ritmo acelerado da globalização e nova concorrência no mercado, Desenvolvimento de Novos Produtos (NPD) e Supply Chain Management (SCM) representam hoje uma fronteira para obter vantagens competitivas para as empresas. Uma interface entre o NPD e o SCM, a Integração do Fornecedor (SI) provou ser eficaz como vantagem competitiva. No entanto, há uma falta de investigação sobre como variáveis humanas, tais como cultura nacional, pode moderar a eficácia da integração do fornecedor (SI) nesses campos do conhecimento. Portanto, este estudo investiga as relações entre fornecedor Integração da Cadeia na tríade Produto-Processo-Cadeia de Suprimentos e as Dimensões da Cultura Nacional. Para tal foi realizado um estudo de caso exploratório em três empresas do setor automobilístico que operam no Consórcio Modular (MC) no Sudeste do Brasil e usaram-se as dimensões culturais de Hofstede\'s (2001) para modelar fatores humanos. Os resultados mostram uma evidente relação entre a integração do fornecedor com a baixa Distância do Poder, baixo Individualismo e elevada Aversão à Incerteza, no entanto não foram obtidas relações evidentes para as dimensões Masculinidade e Orientação a Longo Prazo para a Integração do Fornecedor no estudo de caso. A principal colaboração deste trabalho é o fornecimento de uma melhor compreensão do potencial impacto do fator humano para a integração do fornecedor em empresas que possuem operações no Brasil.

Propuesta de construcción de una vivienda modular rural con instalaciones sostenibles en el distrito de Sondorillo – Piura

El presente trabajo de investigación es parte de un proyecto de construcción de una vivienda rural modular con instalaciones sostenibles basadas en la realidad de la Provincia de Huancabamba, distrito de Sondorillo, Piura. El aporte del presente trabajo está sustentado en el tratamiento de data confiable y existente del lugar en estudio para determinar la oferta de los recursos renovables de mayor predominancia, como es el recurso solar, eólico y agua de lluvia; con la finalidad de realizar el diseño de las instalaciones eléctricas y sanitarias de la vivienda modular propuesta teniendo en cuenta la realidad de sus necesidades que ellos demandan. La presente tesis se realizó en base a la metodología de análisis con información de diferentes fuentes e investigaciones a fines. Con ello, se realiza el tratamiento y análisis de la data existente tomando como base data proporcionada en la página oficial de la NASA, SENAMHI y la ANA. Se determinó la estimación de la energía solar global mediante el método de Bristow – Campbell, resultando un valor rentable de 4.98 kW/m2. El valor promedio de velocidad de viento del lugar se realizó mediante la distribución de Weilbull, resultando un valor de 6.32 m/s a una altura de 6 m. Asimismo, se desarrolla la propuesta de captación de agua de lluvia para ser derivada solo al inodoro de la vivienda, donde las aguas domésticas serán tratadas por medio de un biodigestor de 600 L de capacidad, obteniendo con ello una mejor calidad del servicio higiénico para el poblador en la zona rural. Los resultados fueron aprovechados para realizar el diseño de las instalaciones eléctricas y sanitarias, donde se determinó que mediante la demanda eléctrica de la vivienda es necesario contar con solo 1 panel solar de 150 Wp para abastecer a todos los aparatos eléctricos. Asimismo, se evidencia que el aerogenerador puede abastecer hasta 11 viviendas con la demanda eléctrica calculada. Por lo que se concluye, que a pesar que el lugar en estudio cuenta con una notoria carencia de los servicios de luz, agua y desagüe, queda sustentado que son afortunados por contar con recursos renovables altamente viables para su aprovechamiento e inversión. / The present research is part of a construction project of a modular rural housing with sustainable installations based on the reality of the Province of Huancabamba, district of Sondorillo, Piura. The contribution of this work is based on the treatment of reliable and existing data from the place under study to determine the supply of renewable resources of greater predominance, such as solar, wind and rainwater resources; with the purpose of carrying out the design of the electrical and sanitary installations of the modular housing proposed taking into account the reality of their needs that they demand. The present thesis was carried out based on the analysis methodology with information from different sources such as research at ends. With this, the treatment and analysis of the existing data is done taking as a base data provided in the official page of NASA, SENAMHI and the ANA. The estimation of global solar energy was determined by the Bristow - Campbell method, resulting in a profitable value of 4.98 kW/m2. The average value of wind speed of the place was made by the distribution of Weilbull, resulting in a value of 6.32 m/s at a height of 6 m. Also, the rainwater collection proposal is developed to be derived only to the toilet of the house where it will be treated by means of a biodigester of 600 L of capacity, obtaining with it a better quality of the hygienic service for the resident in the rural area. The results were used to design the electrical and sanitary installations, where it was determined that by means of the electrical demand of the house it is necessary to have only one solar panel of 150 Wp to supply all the electrical appliances. Likewise, it is evident that the wind turbine can supply up to 11 homes with the calculated electrical demand. So it is concluded that despite the fact that the place under study has a notorious lack of electricity, water and sewage services, it is supported that they are fortunate to have highly viable renewable resources for their use and investment. / Tesis

Modular Kinematic Analysis Of Planar Linkages

This thesis has developed an efficient methodology for automatic kinematic analysis of planar linkages using the concept of modular kinematics. Unlike conventional general purpose kinematic analysis packages where each joint in the mechanism is represented using a set of non-linear constraint equations which need to be solved by some iterative numerical procedure, modular kinematics is based on the original observation by Assur that kinematic state of a mechanism involving large number of links can be constructed out of the kinematic states of patterns of sub chains called modules taken in a given sequence called module sequence which in turn emulates the step by step construction procedure of traditional graphical methods. The position, velocity and acceleration analysis of modules are available in closed form. Kinematic analysis of modules later in the sequence is enabled by those of the ones earlier in the sequence, hence, the kinematic analysis of a mechanism is accomplished without any iterative endeavor by doing the kinematics of the modules as given in the module sequence. [102] classified all modules into three fundamental types namely input, dyad and transformation and also introduced the concept of constraint module for analyzing graphically non-constructible mechanisms within the paradigm of modular kinematics where a small step of numerical search was needed in an over all closed form kinematic formulation. Module sequence for a mechanism using the modules is not unique. Choice of a later module in the sequence depends upon the selection of modules earlier in the sequence. This thesis has presented a systematic approach of identifying all such methods for all the inversions of the mechanism and represented in the form of a module hierarchy or a module tree where each path from root to the leaf node represents a valid module sequence for the kinematic chain in hand. The work also extended the set of modules by adding eight new modules to what has already been used in literature to make it complete in the sense that all planar mechanisms involving revolute, prismatic and pin-in-slot (including circular slots) can be handled. The computational effort involved for analyzing these mechanisms thus depend on the number of constraint modules occurring in succession in the module sequence. However, maximum possible number of constraint modules in any mechanism with up to twelve links is only two. The derivative analysis also uses the same module sequence, but they are always devoid of any iterative steps. During the process of generation of a module sequence, at every stage multitude of modules could be identified for their potential placement in the sequence. But for every module sequence the difference between the number of input modules and that of constraint modules is constant and is equal to the kinematic degrees-of-freedom (d.o.f) of the mechanism. The algorithm presented in this thesis minimizes the number of generalized inputs (and hence extraneous constraints) and thus attempting to identify the simplest of the module sequences. In that sense the module sequences represented in the module tree are all optimal module sequences. The present work introduced the concept of multi phase modular kinematics which enables a large variety of mechanisms, conventionally identified as complex mechanisms, to be solved in closed form. This is achieved through the use of novel virtual link and virtual joints. Virtual link is slightly different from a normal rigid link in the sense that the joint locations on this are functions of some independent parameters. Since, the locations of joints are not fixed even in the local coordinate frame of the virtual link, the relative velocities between joints are not zero, they need to be appropriately accounted in kinematic analysis. The theory presented in the thesis is implemented in a computer program written in C++ on Windows platform and Graphics library (OpenGL) is used to display linkage configurations and simulations. The program takes the data of joints, input pairs, ground link in certain format through a file. Geometric models developed in any of the existing modeling softwares like ProE, Ideas, AutoCad etc. can be imported in VRML format to the links and in case of no geometric models a simple convex 2D geometry is created for each link for the purpose of visualization. Geometric import of links helps not only in understanding the simulations better but also in useful for dynamic analysis, dynamic motion analysis and interference analysis. A complete kinematic analysis (position, velocity and acceleration) is given for a four bar mechanism and illustrated the positional ( configuration) analysis using modular kinematics for several other examples like old-ham, quick-return mechanisms etc. in the current work. Multi-phase modular approach is illustrated using a five bar with floating input pairs, a back actor and a drafter mechanism and the Back actor configuration is shown with the imported link geometries. It is observed in practice that there are many apparently spatial Mechanisms, which are constructed out of symmetric dispositions of planar mechanisms in space. A pseudo spatial mechanism concept is proposed to solve this class of spatial mechanisms, which can actually be analyzed with the effort of solving only one such component. This concept is illustrated with Shaker and Umbrella mechanisms. Possible extensions of the concept for modeling and analysis of more general class of pseudo-spatial mechanisms are also indicated.

Detta projekt utfördes som examensarbete för högskoleingenjörsexamen i innovationsteknik och design, 22,5 högskolepoäng, vid Karlstads universitet. Som uppdragsgivare stod Reminiscor AB. Uppkomsten av projektet låg i en förfrågan från företaget att utveckla ett moduluppbyggt pedalbord för gitarrister.Det här produktutvecklingsprojektet genomfördes med användarkrav och användarönskemål i fokus för att definiera lämpliga funktioner för och utformning av ett modulbaserat pedalbord. Arbetet inleddes med att undersöka utbudet av olika typer av pedalbord och effektpedaler på marknaden. Intervjuer med gitarrister i olika åldrar och från olika genrer genomfördes för att skapa en uppfattning om gemensamma krav och önskemål som kunde ligga till grund för det fortsatta arbetet. Utifrån observation av pedalbordsanvändning och litteraturstudier ingick även ergonomiska avvägningar i utformningen av konceptet.Konceptet som projektet resulterade i togs fram bl.a. med hjälp av Modular Function Deployment-MFD, en metod för att finna lämplig modulindelning av produkter. Denna metod innefattar Quality Function Deployment-QFD, funktionsanalys, modulindikationsmatris-MIM, utvärdering och förbättring på modulnivå. Arbetet presenterar även hållfasthetsberäkningar och visualisering av det framtagna pedalbordskonceptet.Det framtagna konceptet består av sex olika moduler av två olika typer, främre och bakre. Dessa finns i sin tur i tre olika längder som kan kombineras och monteras samman för att utgöra pedalbord av olika storlek. Varje enskild modul är dessutom försedd med en funktion som gör att monteringsytan för pedaler kan ställas i olika inbördes vinklar. På så sätt möjliggör modulerna ett pedalbord med stora anpassningsmöjligheter för användaren. / This is a Degree Project for a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering, 22.5 ECTS Credits, at Karlstad university on assignment by Remiscor AB. The project originated in a request from Reminiscor AB to develop a modular pedalboard for guitarists.In order to define appropriate functions and design of a modular pedalboard, user requirements was the focus point of this product development project. The early stages of the project involved research on the range of different kinds of pedalboards and effects pedals offered on the market. Interviews with guitarists of different age and from different genres were carried out to give an understandingo f common demands and preferenses, to serve as a foundation for further work. From observation of pedalboard use and litterature studies, the design of the concept also included ergonomical considerations.One of the methods used to develop the concept that this project resulted in was Modular Function Deployment-MFD. This method helps defining an appropriate modular structure in a product. It involves Quality Function Deployment-QFD, function analysis, Module Indication Matrix-MIM, evaluation and improvement on a modular level. This work also present calculations on Solid Mechanics and visualisation of the developed pedalboard concept.The presented concept consists of six different modules divided into two types, front and back. Each of these include three different lengths that can be combined to constitute pedalboards of different sizes. Each individual module contain a function to enable different angle settings of the pedal mounting surface, independent of adjacent modules. With these properties, the modules make a pedalboard with considerable customization options for the user possible.

In dieser Arbeit werden die Modularobjekte zu zyklischen und separierenden Vektoren für von-Neumann-Algebren untersucht. Besondere Beachtung erfahren dabei die Modularoperatoren und deren Spektraleigenschaften. Diese Eigenschaften werden genutzt, um Klassifikationen für Lösungen einiger inverser Probleme der Modulartheorie anzugeben. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit wird zunächst der Zusammenhang zwischen dem zyklischen und separierenden Vektor und seinen Modularobjekten mit Hilfe (verallgemeinerter) Spurvektoren für halbendliche und Typ $III_{\lambda}$ Algebren ($0<\lambda<1$) näher untersucht. Diese Untersuchungen erlauben es, das Spektrum der Modularoperatoren für Typ $I$ Algebren anzugeben. Dazu werden die Begriffe {\em zentraler Eigenwert} und zentrale Vielfachheit eingeführt. Weiterhin ergibt sich, dass die Modularoperatoren durch ihre Spektraleigenschaften eindeutig charakterisiert sind. Modularoperatoren für Typ $I_{n}$ Algebren sind genau die $n$-zerlegbaren Operatoren, die multiplikatives, zentrales Spektrum vom Typ $I_{n}$ besitzen. ähnliche Ergebnisse werden auch für Typ $II$ und $III_{\lambda}$ Algebren gewonnen unter der Vorausetzung, dass die zugehörigen Vektoren diagonalisierbar sind. Im zweiten Teil der Arbeit werden diese Ergebnisse exemplarisch auf ein inverses Problem der Modulartheorie angewendet. Dabei stellt sich heraus, dass die Begriffe zentraler Eigenwert und zentrale Vielfachheit Invarianten des inversen Problems sind und eine vollständige Klassifizierung seiner Lösungen unter obigen Voraussetzungen erlauben. Außerdem wird eine Klasse von Modularoperatoren untersucht, für die das inversese Problem nur ein oder zwei Lösungsklassen besitzt. / In this work modular objects of cyclic and separating vectors for von~Neumann~algebras are considered. In particular, the modular operators and their spectral properties are investigated. These properties are used to classify the solutions of some inverse problems in modular theory. In the first part of the work the correspondence between cyclic and separating vectors and their modular objects are considered for semifinite and type $III_{\lambda}$ algebras ($0<\lambda<1$) in more detail, where (generalized) trace vectors are used. These considerations allow to compute the spectrum of modular operators for type $I$ algebras. To this end, the notions of central eigenvalue and central multiplicity are introduced. Furthermore, it is stated that modular operators are uniquely determined by their spectral properties. Modular operators for type $I_{n}$ algebras are exactly the $n$-decomposable operators, which possess {\em multiplicative central spectrum of type $I_{n}$}. Similar results are derived for type $II$ and $III_{\lambda}$ algebras under the assumption that the corresponding vectors are diagonalizable. In the second part of this work these results are applied to an inverse problem of modular theory. It comes out, that the central eigenvalues and central multiplicities are invariants of this inverse problem and that they give a complete classification of its solutions. Moreover, a class of modular operators is investigated, whose inverse problem possesses only one or two classes of solutions.

Dentre os métodos estudados, os métodos MFD (Modular Function Deployment) e DSM (Design Structure Matrix) foram escolhidos, basicamente em função de possuírem: aplicação prática, repetibilidade dos resultados, softwares disponíveis e facilidade de organização dos dados. O método DSM serviu de base para gerar os primeiros possíveis módulos e simplificar o problema dos inicias 44 componentes para 26, simplesmente com uma visão funcional e técnica. O MFD foi utilizado principalmente para estruturar o processo de modularização e atender aos requisitos dos clientes e estratégias do negócio. Os resultados apresentados pelos dois métodos foram analisados de forma detalhada e indicaram a formação de sete módulos, que foram obtidos tanto diretamente dos métodos DSM e MFD, quanto da combinação de ambos. Ficou evidente, através dos resultados alcançados, que a utilização conjunta desses dois métodos, juntamente com a análise criteriosa dos resultados no desenvolvimento do produto aumentou consideravelmente a eficiência do processo de modularização. / This work presents and compares qualitatively seven modularization methods, in order to choose and apply those that best suits for a rear air suspension modularization pilot project for trucks and buses. Among the methods studied, the MFD (Modular Function Deployment) and DSM (Design Structure Matrix) methods were mainly chosen on the basis that they present: practical application, repeatability, software availability and ease data organization. The DSM method was the basis to generate the first possible modules and simplify the problem from the initial 44 to 26 components, only with a functional and technical approach. The MFD was mainly used to structure the modularization process and meet the customer requirements and business strategies. The results shown by the two methods were analyzed in detail and resulted in the generation of seven modules, which were obtained either directly from DSM and MFD methods, or from the combination of both. It became evident, by the results achieved, that the combined use of these two methods, along with a careful analysis of the results on product development, greatly increased the modularization process efficiency.

First, this research uses a theoretical boarding within a bibliographical revision about concepts of industrialized construction, approaching the current technician scene in Brazil, and confronting some of the main industrialized technologies available today in the segment of construction. Then, it is tried to demonstrated the technique viability of constructive and structural steel system through the development of a module that could be adjust to diferent archetypes of constructions. Such a way, it was opted to the choice of an existing building in the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), called building of theoretical class rooms 7 (AT7), adapting its educational demand into a system modular in steel. For such boarding,the elaboration of solutions techniques, in a flexible and adaptable way to the initial projetual conception was necessary, contemplating not only space geometry in respect to its structure, but also considering closings systems, installations and logistic, inside industrialized construction thematic. As result, a viable technically modulation was elaborated, considering dimensional, structural and logistic points, so it could be applied or adjusted according to some situations of project, inside constructive and structural types boarded in this study. In this manner, the research presents practical character, therefore it is motivated by the necessity of approaching relative real problems to the projetual conception, supplying and fomenting techniques choices about industrialized systems, cooperating in the spreading of the concept of Industrialization in the technician scene. / No contexto da Construção Civil, o sistema construtivo e estrutural responde por considerável parcela do desempenho da edificação após sua ocupação. Valendo-se inicialmente de uma abordagem teórica, o trabalho apresenta uma revisão bibliográfica sobre conceitos de construção industrializada, abordando o atual cenário técnico no Brasil, e confrontando algumas das principais tecnologias industrializadas presentes hoje no segmento da construção civil. Na sequência, procurou-se demonstrar a viabilidade técnica de utilização do sistema construtivo e estrutural em aço, através do desenvolvimento de um módulo adequável a variadas tipologias de edificações. Para tanto, optou-se pela escolha de um edifício existente na Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), denominado Edifício de Salas de Aulas Teóricas 7 (AT7), adaptando o sistema modular à demanda do espaço didático. Para tal abordagem, foi necessária a elaboração de soluções técnicas, de modo flexível e adaptável à concepção projetual inicial, contemplando não somente a geometria espacial em relação à sua estrutura, mas também considerando os sistemas de fechamentos laterais e verticais, instalações e logística, dentro da temática da industrialização da construção. Como resultado, foi elaborada uma modulação tecnicamente viável de ser executada, tanto do ponto de vista dimensional, quanto estrutural e de logística, e que pode ser aplicada ou adequada a várias situações de projeto, que optem por este partido construtivo e estrutural. Desse modo, a pesquisa apresenta caráter aplicativo, pois é motivada pela necessidade de se resolver problemas reais relativos à concepção projetual, fornecendo subsídios para fomentar escolhas técnicas relativas a sistemas industrializados, colaborando na divulgação do conceito de Industrialização no meio técnico.
