Fenômeno bullying e a ética do saber cuidar

Uma análise do fenômeno bullying por meio das narrativas de vítimas. O teor das narrativas e sua análise interpela-nos para a fragilidade daqueles e daquelas que sofreram os mais variados tipos de violência. O primeiro capítulo apresenta uma reflexão sobre a sociedade e a educação do século XXI, o ser humano e suas relações culturais e sociais com uma visão panorâmica da educação atual, suas crises, influências e reflexos na vida dos jovens. Lança propostas de um olhar esperançoso para atender os anseios e necessidades da educação deste século. O segundo capítulo define o termo bullying e apresenta seu histórico. Descreve o desenvolvimento e a intensidade com que o fenômeno acontece a partir de sentimentos e angústias universais que afetam crianças, jovens e adultos. Trata da sua especificidade e conseqüências, do prejuízo à formação psicológica, emocional e socioeducacional do indivíduo vitimizado pelo bullying. O terceiro capítulo traz o relato de vítimas do fenômeno e a análise das narrativas, seus aspectos individuais e grupais revelam conexões existentes entre si e no espaço escolar, nos convidam assim à ética do cuidado. Apontam caminhos para a promoção da resiliência e o convívio com a tolerância na busca pela igualdade nas relações. Nesta perspectiva, as vítimas retratam o sofrimento, as angústias e o sentimento de impotência diante do bullying, suas experiências e descobertas do fenômeno. O quarto capítulo apresenta a relevância das narrativas no processo de descoberta da subjetividade, das experiências, suas implicações e discernimento acerca do bullying, enfatiza o processo das relações intrapessoais e interpessoais e a procura pelas respostas para entender o fenômeno. Na possibilidade dos relatos é nítida a importância de dar visibilidade e proporcionar entendimento do bullying, legitimando assim o valor das narrativas. No último capítulo são propostos caminhos capazes de contribuir para uma educação voltada para a esperança, fundamentada nas relações de alteridade daqueles e daquelas que sofrem ou sofreram bullying, possibilitando assim interferir e reagir diante de tão complexo e variável fenômeno. Considerou-se fator primordial para esta pesquisa a análise das narrativas a fim de permitir descobrir novos elementos que possam contribuir efetivamente para a paz nas relações interpessoais, suscitar e desenvolver sentidos que venham a integrar e servir de aporte à ética do cuidado, à promoção da resiliência, às relações de alteridade e do cuidado para com o outro, em uma educação voltada para a paz. / The bullying phenomenon analysis using the victims narratives. The tenor of narratives and its analysis interpellates us to the fragility of those who suffered the most diverse types of violence. The first chapter presents a reflection about the society and the education on the XXI Century, the human being and its cultural and social relationships with a panoramic vision of current reeducation, its crisis, influences and reflection in the youngs lives. It makes use of proposals of hopeful look in order to assist the expectancy and necessities of education in this Century. The second chapter defines the term bullying and presents its history. Describes the development and the intensity with which the phenomenon happens from the universal feelings and afflictions that affect children young adults and adults. It deals with its specification and consequences, its prejudice to psychological, emotional and socioeducational formation of individuals victimized by bullying. The third chapter shows the phenomenon victims report and analysis of narratives its individuals and groups aspects reveal existent connections among itself and in scholar environment, they invite us, thus, to the ethic of care. They point out ways to foster resiliency and the acquaintance with tolerance in searching for equality in relationships. In this perspective the victims portray the suffering, expectancy and feelings of impotence facing bullying, its experiences and findings of this phenomenon. The fourth chapter presents the relevance of narratives in the process of subjective development in experiences its implication and reasons about bullying. Emphasizes the process of intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships and the search for answers to understand the phenomenon. In the possibility of these reports its clear the importance of giving visibility and provide the understanding of bullying, legalizing thus, the valve of narratives. In the last chapter there are proposals made using ways capable to contribute for and education faced to hope, based in relationships of respect to others, those who suffer or had suffered bullying, enabling thus, to interfere and react facing so complex and variable phenomenon. We considered prime factors for this research, the analysis of narratives in order to allow the discovery of new elements which might contribute effectively for peace in interpersonal relations; suscitates and develops senses that could integrate and serve fertile ground for the ethic of care the promotion of resiliency the relations of respect and of care to the others in an education faced to hope.

O conceito de eutanásia em Ronald Dworkin

A presente dissertação investiga o problema da eutanásia. A tecnologia biomédica avançou nestas últimas duas décadas de forma notável, no bom e no mau sentido. É graças a esta tecnologia que muitos e muitos doentes têm sido salvos de suas enfermidades transitórias, porém, de outro lado, estas mesmas medidas, escravizam milhares de vidas a serem vividas sem qualquer perspectiva de cura ou melhora, somente prolongando a vida e o sofrimento de pacientes terminais. Nesse contexto, buscou-se trazer para conhecimento de toda comunidade científica, bem como dos estudantes de direito e afins, as teorias de direito do notório autor Ronald Dworkin, para possibilitar, num primeiro momento, demonstrar como este vê e entende o Direito e para, após, apresentar sua visão acerca do instituto da eutanásia. Por fim, expor a proposta de Dworkin em face de pedidos de eutanásia, bem como trazê-la para a realidade brasileira, verificando a possibilidade de sua implementação face à legislação vigente. After that, it displays the Dworkin’s proposal in face of euthanasia order, as wel as brings his proposal for the brazilian reality, verifying the possibility of it is implementation face the current Law. It is expects with this work to provide plus a new source of knowledge to instigate the reflection concerning the euthanasia in our society. Autores como Jean Piaget e Paulo Freire, com suas teorias consistentes e críticas, podem contribuir para um aprofundamento dessa reflexão. Nesta pesquisa, fixamos como objetivo verificar quais são as aproximações entre as teorias de Jean Piaget e Paulo Freire, no que se refere a aspectos do desenvolvimento moral e, ainda, analisar as implicações dessas aproximações para a teoria e a prática educativa. Para tal, utilizamos como metodologia a pesquisa bibliográfica, analisando conceitos fundamentais sobre a moral, nessas teorias, e estabelecendo as relações entre eles. Observamos que ambos os autores apresentam uma concepção de que o desenvolvimento moral ocorre a partir da oposição entre dois tipos de relações sociais: as relações coercitivas ou opressoras, nas quais predomina o respeito unilateral, e levam o sujeito a posicionamentos teóricos e práticos heterônomos; e as relações cooperativas ou dialógicas, em que se sobressai o respeito mútuo, e conduzem à autonomia e à liberdade. A fim de evidenciar as aproximações, elegemos eixos teóricos fundamentais para Freire e Piaget, que são o respeito mútuo, a autonomia e a educação moral. A partir desses eixos, encontramos relação entre as díades conceituais: respeito unilateral e opressão; respeito mútuo e diálogo; heteronomia e cultura do silêncio; autonomia e liberdade. Não estabelecemos identidade entre esses conceitos, porém, destacamos as aproximações entre eles, no que diz respeito à moral. Percebemos a tomada de consciência como processo importante, em ambas as teorias, para que o sujeito, com base nas relações de reciprocidade, alcance a autonomia moral. Essas aproximações nos possibilitaram chegar a implicações para a educação que apontam, para além da autonomia intelectual, a necessidade de uma educação para a formação humana, para a autonomia moral. Trata-se de uma educação ativa, baseada na reciprocidade e no respeito mútuo, portanto, no diálogo, preocupada com a conscientização e com a transformação social. Diferentemente da educação verbalista, que emprega as lições de moral, essa educação para a autonomia, indicada por Paulo Freire e Jean Piaget, é pautada em experiências cooperativas e democráticas, vislumbrando a formação de cidadãos críticos e engajados. / Nowadays, the Brazil educational reality, mainly authoritarian, violent and reproductive, demands us as educators and researchers the reflection about how to form people to moral autonomy and achieve, thereafter, a more effective social intervention. Authors such as Jean Piaget and Paulo Freire, with their consistent theories and critical reviews, can contribute to deepening this reflection. It was aimed in this study the verification of which are the approximations between the theories of Jean Piaget and Paulo Freire related to moral development aspects and, in addition, examine the implications of these approaches to theory and educational practice. For such purpose, it was used as methodology the bibliographical research in order to analyze the fundamental concepts about the moral in these theories and establish the relationships between them. It could be verified that both authors have a conception that moral development occurs from the opposition between two types of social relations: the relations of coercive or oppressive, in which predominates the unilateral, and lead the subject to theoretical and practical placements heteronomous; and, the cooperative relationships or dialogical, in which predominates the mutual respect, and lead to the autonomy and freedom. In order to highlight this approach between Piaget and Freire theories, it was elected fundamental theoretical pillars for the authors that are: mutual respect, autonomy and moral education. From these pillars, it was found a relation between conceptual dyads: unilateral respect and oppression; mutual respect, and dialog; heteronomy and culture of silence; autonomy and freedom. It wasn’t established identity among these concepts, but it can be outlined approximations between respect and moral. We are aware how important process of consciousness is in both theories to the subject, for from the relations of reciprocity it can reach the moral autonomy. These approximations have enabled us to arrive to implications for education that indicate that in addition to the intellectual autonomy there is the necessity of an education for human formation, for a moral autonomy. It is an active education, based on reciprocity and mutual respect, it means, based on the dialog; and concerned with the process of consciousness. Unlike the verbalist education, which employs the moral lessons, this proposed education for autonomy, indicated by Paulo Freire and Jean Piaget, is based on democratic and cooperative experiences, glimpsing the formation of critical citizens and engaged.

Caring and Respect in Preschool Classrooms: Connecting Ethical Theory to Empirical Research

abstract: This study focuses on the principles of caring and respect for persons, and how they are manifested in the preschool classroom. Caring and respect are core ethical principles. When applied, they inform our thinking and guide our behavior. Leading ethicists, including Immanuel Kant and Nel Noddings, have argued that caring and respect are vital elements in ethical human relationships. This dissertation is at the forefront of a new line of inquiry which is seeking to connect the philosophical with the empirical in ways that can be illuminating for both, and for education research and practice more generally. The study connects ethical theory with a qualitative analysis of how the principles of caring and respect do and do not manifest in pre-K classrooms. The empirical portion of this study is a secondary data analysis of classroom videos collected for a large-scale research project conducted by the National Center for Research on Early Childhood Education (NCRECE). Using maximum variation sampling, I identified six preschool classrooms to examine in regard to my research questions and identify observable behaviors associated with caring and respectful interactions. These video samples of teachers interactions with small and larger groups of children were then transcribed, described, analyzed, and discussed through the lens of the ethics of care and respect for persons. The study found that caring and respect for persons were either not demonstrated or were demonstrated in very limited ways in the observable behaviors of teachers in the samples of preschool classrooms under examination. Um lugar ao território : utopia e respeito em política habitacional

A proposta deste trabalho constitui-se através do acompanhamento de um projeto de habitação popular na Vila dos Tocos (Palmares do Sul / RS), realizado no ano de 2004. Ele é o ponto de partida para pensarmos as intervenções públicas nas formas de habitar. Analisaremos os elementos que antecedem os projetos, as propostas apresentadas no papel e os efeitos desta junção para pensarmos em alternativas que ampliem a autonomia dos sujeitos e mantenham a esfera do desejo presente. Como alternativa possível para alcançarmos um respeito mútuo inclusivo, capaz de não apagar o desejo, propomos um olhar maior sobre as utopias iconoclastas. Estas se apresentam como possibilidade por serem capazes de mostrar os limites de nosso pensamento, propondo um tempo de espera e uma possibilidade outra de vir-a-ser. / The purpose of this paper is established through the observation of a housing project in Vila dos Tocos (Palmares do Sul / RS), held in 2004. This project is the starting point for thinking about public interventions in diverse forms of living. We will analyze the elements prior to the project, written proposals and the effects of this junction to think of alternatives to enhance the autonomy of individuals and keep the desire present. As a possible alternative to achieve an inclusive mutual respect, one that will not erase the desire, we propose a greater look on iconoclastic utopias. These are presented as a possibility for being able to show the limits of our thinking, proposing a standby time and potential outcomes.

O respeito na escola: a visão dos coordenadores pedagógicos / The respect at school: the view of educational coordinators

A escola é um local de constante transmissão de princípios e regras morais aos alunos e a formação do respeito acontece em todas as relações estabelecidas em seu interior. Os professores são aqueles que estão mais diretamente ligados aos jovens, mas na escola há outras funções com grande influência sobre o ensino e que são pouco estudadas. Na presente pesquisa buscou-se investigar a visão dos coordenadores pedagógicos de Ensino Fundamental I e II de escolas públicas e particulares sobre o respeito na escola. Para isso foram entrevistados 20 coordenadores sendo 10 de escolas públicas e 10 de escolas particulares. A entrevista continha duas partes: uma semidirigida, com perguntas norteadoras, e a outra era composta de três pequenas histórias-problema com alternativas de ações. Os resultados demonstraram que para os coordenadores é muito difícil trabalhar com os professores, que seriam seu foco de atenção e atuação. Há uma discrepância significativa entre os que os coordenadores dizem fazer e o que pensam que os professores fazem em ambas as redes, sendo estes últimos vistos como mais autoritários pelos coordenadores nas escolas públicas. Há situações de desrespeito em diversas esferas e, apesar de terem dificuldade de se lembrar, também acontecem situações de respeito. Os alunos são o maior foco de atenção dos coordenadores o que dificulta ainda mais o seu trabalho com os professores. Percebeu-se também uma tensão entre nas relações entre esses dois profissionais. Pode-se constatar que a formação moral nas escolas ainda acontece de forma pouco planejada e que há pouco espaço para a cooperação e o diálogo entre os adultos, algo que parece se estender nas relações adultos x crianças, principalmente nos órgãos públicos / The school is a place where all moral principles and rules are transmitted to the students constantly. Learning how to respect happens in all relationships established within it. Teachers are those who are most directly linked to students. School has another skills with great influence on education which are poorly studied. This research has investigated the view of educational coordinators about the respect at school. Coordinators from Elementary I and II were interviewed in 20 different schools. Half in public schools and the other half in private schools. The research happened in two parts. First one with guiding questions and the second one were composed by three problem situations with different actions. The results showed how difficult it is for the coordinators to work with the teachers, who should be their focus of attention and action. There is a significant gap between what the coordinators do and what they think the teachers do at the school, even at the public or the private school. The public school teachers are seen by the coordinators as the most authoritarian ones. There are a lot of disrespectful situations. Although they find hard to remember, it also occurs situations of respect. The students are the major focus of the attention of the coordinator which makes even harder the work with the teachers. We also noticed a tension in between these two professionals in their relationships. It is evident that the moral education at school is still so poorly planned. There is a small space for cooperation and dialogue between the adults. It is something that seems to extend through relationships between adult x children, especially in public schools

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This dissertation aims to explain and discuss the Kantian proposal regarding the grounds of moral action from the pure practical reason, and the relationship between these grounds and the "moral sense", i.e., the feeling of "respect". Thus, it is presented the reconstruction of the Kantian argumentation concerning the problem of objective validity of the moral law as a determinant of human will, as well as an analysis of the respective sections of the Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals and the Critique of Practical Reason, which present the Kant's arguments concerning the relation between the moral law and the feeling of respect, as a central figure to the practice of this law. In order to do so, the first chapter deals with a terminological analysis of the concept of feeling of Respect, distinguishing it from the conception of moral sense and the feeling of happiness. In the second chapter it is intended to show how the moral law can be realized in the hearts of a finite rational human being like a man, in view of the issue of moral motivation and the systematic link between the feeling of respect and the moral law. Finally, in the third chapter, the dissertation addresses the relationship between the feeling of respect and the fact of reason. / A presente dissertação tem como objetivo principal explicitar e discutir a proposta kantiana quanto à fundamentação do agir moral a partir da razão prática pura, e a relação desta fundamentação com o chamado sentimento moral , i.e., o sentimento do respeito . Nessa medida, apresenta-se a reconstrução da argumentação kantiana acerca do problema da validade objetiva da lei moral como determinante da vontade humana, bem como uma análise dos respectivos trechos da Fundamentação da Metafísica dos Costumes e da Crítica da Razão Prática, que apresentam os argumentos de Kant referentes à relação da lei moral com o sentimento do respeito, como figura central para a prática desta lei. La représentation de l'autre dans les Œuvres de Jean Potocki / Jean Potocki and otherness

Depuis quelques décennies, la communauté scientifique s’intéresse de plus en plus à l’œuvre de Jean Potocki (1761-1815), l’auteur du Manuscrit trouvé à Saragosse. Ce « roman encyclopédique » apparaît comme un texte qui rassemble les regards que l’écrivain porte sur le monde. Par ses nombreux voyages, il découvre la diversité humaine et rapporte ses expériences. Erudit inlassable, il construit un discours universaliste qui dépasse les particularités. Homme politique, Jean Potocki fonde son rapport à l’autre sur le savoir et l’action. Dans l’espace littéraire, son écriture reste marquée par les croisements de tons, le syncrétisme culturel et philosophique. En parcourant cette œuvre riche en approches et en thématiques, on constate que la question de l’homme demeure incontournable. Jean Potocki n’écrit pas seulement pour le plaisir de décrire l’inconnu : il veut comprendre et façonner une manière d’aborder l’autre. L’intérêt de ce travail consiste à montrer comment l’auteur réunit ses connaissances, ses expériences et son imagination pour créer un univers qui transcende les barrières conventionnelles pour dire la complexité du monde. / For several decades, the scientific community has become more and more interested in the work of Jean Potocki (1761-1815), the author of the Manuscrit trouvé à Saragosse. This "encyclopaedic novel" appears as a text that gathers the writer's view of the world. Through his many trips, he discovers human diversity and reports his experiences. An untiring erudite, he constructs a universalist discourse that transcends peculiarities. A politician, Jean Potocki bases his report on the other on knowledge and action. In the literary space, his writing remains marked by the crossing of tones, cultural and philosophical syncretism. Through this work rich in approaches and themes, we see that the question of man remains inescapable. Jean Potocki writes not only for the pleasure of describing the unknown: he wants to understand and shape a way of approaching the other. Thanks to the publication of the works undertaken by Dominique Triaire and François Rosset since 2004, it is possible to have an enlarged view on the mechanisms that participate in the construction of otherness in Jean Potocki. The interest of this work is to show how the author combines his knowledge, experiences and imagination to create a universe that transcends conventional barriers to mean the complexity of the world.

Respect as a factor influencing the value proposition for low income consumers

The purpose of this study was to explore the interaction between respect or disrespect and the customer value proposition, including identifying experiences of respect or disrespect, within the context of low income consumers. The study was conducted by means of exploratory research, applying the critical incident technique, whereby a positive and a negative experience in the marketplace was analysed for each low income participant. The study showed that low income consumers value respect in the marketplace, and are typically prepared to pay a premium for respectful treatment. As regards disrespectful treatment, the study showed that low income consumers have a strong tendency to complain when faced with disrespect, and if this is not remedied, the low income consumer is extremely likely to not purchase from the relevant supplier then or in the future, regardless of price or convenience.
