Studiens syfte är att beskriva och förklara strategier och förutsättningar för första linjens chef inom kommunal äldreomsorg för att möta verksamhetens kompetensförsörjningsbehov på kort och lång sikt. Studien avser att besvara syftet utifrån följande frågeställningar. Hur förhåller sig cheferna till sitt uppdrag att bemanna verksamhet med ändamålsenlig kompetens vid rätt tidpunkt och i relation till rådande institutionell struktur? Vilka kompetensförsörjningsstrategier har cheferna? Vilka förutsättningar är möjliggörande respektive hindrande för cheferna att hantera kompetensförsörjnings­utmaningen på längre sikt? Med sikte på år 2035 beskrivs äldreomsorgen vara den arbetsmarknadssektor som i jämförelse med andra, kommer ha störst behov av nyrekryterad kompetens (SCB, 2017). Kraven på chefer inom offentlig sektor är stora och uppdraget har blivit alltmer komplext.  Uppdraget ställer krav på såväl egen handlingskraft som anpassning till organisatoriska strukturer och styrmodeller. Den institutionella struktur som kommunal äldreomsorg är organiserad inom och komplexiteten i chefsuppdraget blev vägledande i studiens val av teoretisk referensram. Institutionell teori och teorin om analytisk dualism är utgångspunkterna för studiens analys av samspelet mellan struktur och agentskap samt dess påverkan på chefers förutsättningar att möta verksamhetens kompetensförsörjningsbehov på kort och lång sikt. Studien genomfördes med kvalitativ metod och empirin baseras på åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer med första linjens chefer inom äldreomsorgen i två kommuner. Med första linjens chef avses den chefsfunktion som har ansvar att leda medarbetare och verksamhet som är närmast kunden. Inom äldreomsorg benämns funktionen ofta enhetschef eller sektionschef. Studien konstaterar att cheferna i hög grad har egna strategier för att attrahera, behålla och utveckla kompetens för att möta verksamhetens kompetensförsörjningsbehov. Strategierna hanteras i huvudsak inom det handlingsutrymme som chefsuppdraget själv förfogar över. Studien fångar inte upp tecken på samspel mellan cheferna och kommunövergripande kompetens­försörjnings­strategier. I chefernas samspel med vissa styrande processer, till exempel för bemanning och rekrytering, visar studien att processen inte utgår från de verksamhetsbehov som första linjens chef ger uttryck för. Studien drar slutsatsen att första linjens chefer upplever sig delvis separerade från den formella strukturen i kommunen (isärkoppling). Studien konstaterar att ökade inslag av tillitsbaserad styrning kan ge gynnsamma förutsättningar för ett proaktivt agerande i en isärkopplad struktur. Som kontrast identifierar studien en stark formmässig likhet mellan äldreomsorgsverksamheter oavsett kommun­tillhörighet (isomorfism). Medveten styrning utifrån denna likhet kan utveckla samordning mellan aktörer inom äldreomsorg i syfte att forma gemensamma strategier att möta kompetensförsörjningsutmaningen på längre sikt.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka hur lärare tolkar estetik i förhållande till undervisning i naturvetenskap i åk 1 – 3. Estetik nämns i mycket korta ordalag i värdegrunden och kursplanerna i Lgr 11, men mer utförligt i Skolverkets kommentarmaterial i biologi, fysik och kemi, där begreppet ”estetiska dimensioner” används. Studiens frågeställningar handlade om estetiska dimensioner, estetiska erfarenheter, känslor och estetik i relation till naturvetenskaplig undervisning. Frågeställningarna undersöktes genom kvalitativa intervjuer med tio verksamma lärare. Studiens resultat visade att lärarna som deltog i studien inte var insatta i kommentarmaterialen, men att lektionsmomenten de beskrev och deras reflektioner både om naturvetenskap i allmänhet och om undervisning i naturvetenskap stod i nära relation till de estetiska dimensioner som beskrivs i kommentarmaterialen och som forskare ringar in som viktiga för barns inlärningsprocesser. Vilka ämnesinnehåll i NO som lärarna betecknade som estetiska differentierade mellan olika individer, men att naturvetenskapen har en inneboende estetik var samtliga på olika sätt, mer eller mindre uttalat, överens om. Studiens slutsats är att en ökad medvetenhet om vad estetik i naturvetenskaplig undervisning kan innebära skulle hjälpa lärare att på ett mer självklart sätt inkludera och utveckla den här sidan av undervisningen.

This work attempts to outline concepts associated with body in the Old Norse literature. As the word for the body (líkamr) as well as the term for an incorporeal soul (sál) do not occur in the Old Norse literature until the translated Christian works and cannot therefore be used as markers, two areas closely connected with the concept of body have been chosen for the research: shifting of shape (hamr) and somatic expressions of emotions. In the first area, i.e. phenomena associated with shape-shifting, contexts of all (113) occurrences of radix ham- in the Old Norse literature are analysed in order to describe the semantical field of this root. Within the themes that have appeared in the material (i.e. shape-shifting related to flying, battle frenzy and magic), occurrences are ordered on an axis from those where the form (hamr) is considered to be holistic to those where just the form of body or soul is described. In this context, it is important to mention the proximity of man and animal in the Germanic environment, as shape-shifting is often related to an animal and thus points to the limits of human identity. I denna uppsats analyseras Maria Hellboms Älgkungen (2021) ur ett ekokritiskt perspektiv, med stöd i ett didaktiskt sådant. Syftet med studien är att lösa upp dualismen mellan antropocentrism och ekocentrism. Syftet är vidare att problematisera dualismen mellan didaktik och estetik. Genom en analys med fokus på tre för texten centrala karaktärer – skogsfruarna Sara och Aud, de mäktiga varelserna Midvinterdrottningen och Älgkungen, samt protagonisten Klara – visas hur antropocentrism med stöd i magisk realism har en didaktisk potential att skapa miljömedvetenhet hos läsaren. Detta i motsats till hur forskare inom ekokritiken annars ofta fokuserar enbart på ekocentrism som en källa till ekolitteracitet. Vad gäller didaktik och estetik ämnar studien att sätta fokus på hur dessa inte behöver konkurrera. Resultatet av studien visar på att även om syftet med läsningen är för det estetiska nöjets skull, kan slutresultatet ändå vara att läsaren lär sig något under tiden. Detta tack vare textens inneboende didaktiska potential och det fokus som läggs på klimat- och miljöfrågor i just denna text. Den ekokritiska teorin för uppsatsen baseras främst på Greg Garrards Ecocriticism (2012), samt på en ekokritisk översiktsartikel av Henrik Görlin (2009). Didaktisk potential baseras i sin tur på Malin Alkestrands (2016) definition av begreppet. Vidare används även de avsnitt av Barnradions bokpris – där juryn består av fem barn ur femte klass – som behandlar Älgkungen som underlag för analys och resultat. Genom dessa läggs en ytterligare dimension till denna analys: barns egna åsikter och tankar kring just denna text agerar utgångpunkt för min egen analys och det resultat som framkommer.

Theological dualism is a primary element in George Herbert's poetry. Poems such as "The Flower," "Affliction I," "Affliction V," "The Banquet" and "Love III" illustrate the necessary tension inherent in the polarity of theological dualism. Abstractions such as joy, grief, pleasure, pain, birth, and death form the framework for Herbert's illustration of the Christian pilgrim in search of divine communion. For the searching Christian to understand one abstract principle, its opposite must be equally explored. In this journey to comprehend the duality of the Christian life, one reaches spiritual enlightenment and communion with God. Although several critics have recognized the importance of theological dualism in Herbert's works, none have closely examined its significance in the poems' overall meaning. Not only does Herbert incorporate theological dualism into his poetry, but he also provides a sense of closure for the journeying Christian who seeks to understand the creator's mysterious ways.

It is often claimed that interactionistic substance dualism is causally problematic. In this paper I review some of the most common causality-based objections to interactionistic substance dualism: the problem of interaction, the exclusion problem, problems from the conservation laws of physics and Chalmers' argument from psychons. The claim that the nature of causality precludes causal relations between the physical and the non-physical is argued to lack sufficient support. It is also argued that the dualist does not need to accept the causal completeness of physics or that the conservation laws of physics applies universally. Further, I argue that Chalmers' argument from psychons rests on incorrect assumptions about the relation between conceivability and possibility and that Kims’ pairing problem can be solved by the soul existing in space. The conclusion is that while we can't be absolutely certain that there is a non-physical substance, there are no obstacles for such a substance to relate causally to the physical if it exists. / It is often claimed that interactionistic substance dualism is causally problematic. Embedded in debates concerning Britishness and citizenship, this thesis considers the influence of the dualistic tradition on citizenship theory and highlights the exclusionary nature of citizenship as founded in this paradigm. Working within this dualistic paradigm means that the lives and practices of being a citizen are not captured, creating an exclusionary cycle whereby the concept excludes the lives of many citizens, and many individuals are excluded from being a citizen as defined by the concept. This thesis used participatory, visual and online methods to explore belonging and exclusion with young people around England. Informed strongly by the field research, this thesis analyses citizenship as defined through dualistic and embodied paradigms and considers the potential of an embodied concept of citizenship for engaging young people.

Der Aufsatz enthält eine Analyse von Richard Strauss' 'Frühling', dem ersten seiner letzten vier Lieder aus dem Jahr 1948. Ich verwende den harmonischen Dualismus von Moritz Hauptmann und Hugo Riemann - eine theoretische Perspektive, die die Ideale der deutschen Romantik widerspiegelt. Diesem Ansatz stelle ich die Schenker'schen und neo-Riemann'schen Analysen des Liedes von Richard Kaplan und Richard Cohn gegenüber. Zwei zentrale Merkmale meiner Analyse sind: 1) die Ablehnung der enharmonischen Äquivalenz und 2) die Funktion einer speziellen Art von überhöhter Sexte, einer 'Frühlingssext', die die Musik vorantreibt und dem Lied seinen charakteristischen chromatischen Klang verleiht. Unter Verwendung des Riemannschen Schritt/Wechsel-Systems zeichne ich die großräumigen harmonischen Bewegungen des Stücks auf einem 'Klangnetz' auf und zeige, wie die verschiedenen harmonischen Transformationen bestimmte Schlüsselbereiche artikulieren und die Bedeutung des Liedtextes reflektieren. / The paper presents an analysis of Richard Strauss’s “Frühling”, the first of his Last Four Songs composed in 1948. I adopt the harmonic dualism of Moritz Hauptmann and Hugo Riemann—a theoretical perspective which reflects the ideals of German Romanticism. I contrast this approach with Schenkerian and Neo-Riemannian analyses of the song by Richard Kaplan and Richard Cohn. Two features central to my analysis are: 1) the rejection of enharmonic equivalence, and 2) the function of a special type of augmented sixth, a “Frühling sixth”, which propels the music forward and gives the song its characteristic chromatic sound. Using Riemann’s Schritt/Wechsel system, I chart the large-scale harmonic moves of the piece on a ‘Klangnetz’, showing how the various harmonic transformations articulate certain key areas and reflect the meaning of the song’s text.
