Urbanismo e mobilidade na metropóle paulistana : estudo de caso : o Parque Dom Pedro II / Urbanism and mobility in the São Paulo metropolis. Case study: Parque Dom Pedro II

Tomas André Rebollo Figueiredo da Silva 01 June 2012 (has links)
This study seeks the guidelines for the urban reintegration of the Parque Dom Pedro II area in Sao Paulo, based on the finding of its current role as a metropolitan mobility hub and relying on international examples of urban renewal projects in areas associated with the renovation or construction of major intermodal stations. This path is organized into three investigative axes corresponding to the three chapters of the study. Initially the area of Parque Dom Pedro II is addressed by employing a method of urban analysis which seeks, through its historical trajectory and its current physical and functional characteristics, the guidelines for planning and design for its reintegration in the city. Then, in the second chapter, the most recent urban theories that address the contemporary metropolis are discussed, with emphasis on the role that mobility networks and its interface points with the city, the metropolitan mobility hubs, perform in the organization and structuring of these vast urbanized territories. This chapter is intended to facilitate the understanding of the role that the study area is likely to meet within the logics of operation in place in the Sao Paulo metropolis, updating the meaning of the urban elements analyzed in the first chapter. Finally, in the third chapter, the typological and morphological characteristics of the metropolitan mobility hubs, considered as specific areas of the city - as urban parts - and its main constituents, the major intermodal stations, are analyzed through a brief history of the relationship between mobility, urbanism and architecture, from the proposals of megastructures imagined by architects in the 1950s and 1960s to the contemporary examples of urban projects associated with five renovated or newly designed European stations: Euralille in Lille, King\'s Cross and Sait Pancras in London, HauptBahnhof in Berlin, La Sagrera in Barcelona and Porta Susa in Turin. Closing the third chapter a brief history of the experiences of urban design associated with the construction of the Sao Paulo subway system and stations aims to bring the issues raised closer to the reality of Sao Paulo. Instead of a definitive conclusion about a finished design solution to the area of Parque Dom Pedro II, an epilogue relates the issues addressed in the three previous chapters in order to provide parameters for planning and design in the area.

Effets discursifs de la représentation de la loi dans la littérature argentine : dictature et post dictature / Discursive effects of the representation of the law in Argentine literature : dictatorship and post-dictatorship

Lombardo, Martín 19 September 2014 (has links)
The central issue of this dissertation focuses on the manner in which several fictional texts, evoking events emblematic of the years 1976-2001, represent the law through their discursive effects. In the process of analyzing the discursive effects of the representation of the law in these fictional texts, certain questions must be posed: in which way does literary discourse configure the borders between public and private space, how does it characterize the spaces made visible or invisible, bring repressed statements to the surface, describe the individuals to whom it bestows the right to exercise power and those who there find themselves marginalized or defined as criminals. All of these elements are the discursive effects of the law that not only represent the law, but also denote the interests that have dictated it. We are centering our study on the representation of the law that dictates the internal boundary of the State evoked by Michel Foucault in his concept of biopolitics. We will analyze different novels that address the most representative moments of the period of our research: the military repression, the Falklands War, the return to democracy, the establishment of neoliberalism and finally the crisis of 2001. The novels of Daniel Moyano, El vuelo del tigre, Rodolfo Fogwill, Los pichiciegos, Juan Martini, El fantasma imperfect, Claudia Piñeiro, Las viudas de los jueves, Juan Martini, Colonia, and Pedro Mairal, El año del desierto, will guide our research since they represent, through their discursive effects, the exception to the law in place. The theoretical ideas of Walter Benjamin, Michel Foucault, Giorgio Agamben and Andrea Cavalletti regarding violence, biopolitics, the state of exception, and security will allow us to analyze the relationship between literary text and historical moment.

The Controversial Identity of Flamenco Jazz: A New Historical and Analytical Approach

Pamies, Sergio, 1983- 05 1900 (has links)
There are certain recordings by important artists such as Lionel Hampton, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Pedro Iturralde, Chick Corea, and Paco de Lucía, among others, that have been associated with the label flamenco jazz. This label is entering jazz discourse, and it needs to be better understood in order to clarify its history, its identity, and its impact on recent developments in flamenco that are labeled nuevo flamenco. There is a lack of agreement in the existent literature on flamenco jazz on the evaluation of these recordings and these artists' achievements and contributions to this field. These writings encompass authors from different backgrounds: journalists, critics, and musicologists, who have approached their analysis of the recordings from different perspectives. The differences in professional backgrounds, approaches, and purpose of the writings of these authors has resulted in controversy about this label. Therefore, the flamenco jazz scholarly conversation needs more objective writings from an analytical point of view. This historiographical study presents a more comprehensive evaluation of flamenco jazz by discussing selected recordings using analytical tools from jazz studies. These analytical arguments clarify the aesthetics of flamenco jazz and the artistic processes that these artists went through when combining musical elements from flamenco and jazz, which in some cases are described as creative misreading. In this century of cultural globalization, where jazz has become a diverse expression of world music because of its capacity to absorb traits from other musical practices, this study can be a resource for international jazz musicians who are seeking to combine jazz with their musical cultural heritage.

Drouin-Gagné, Marie-Eve 01 1900 (has links)
Understanding the assumptions underlying the relationships between individuals and the world according to their civilizational affiliation requires tools and a method to address three main questions. First, how to approach the relationship individuals and their collectivities maintain with the world and with the Other according to their own set of interpretations and meanings of these realities? Second, how to envision the diversity of human collectivities which establish such relations? Finally, how to approach the collective dimensions through limited individual discourse? Two tools enabled me to distance myself from my own subjectiveness and to attain a certain degree of reality and validity as to the stated facts and the achieved results. First, the notional network linking worldviews (Ikenga-Metuh, 1987) as a civilizational phenomenon (Mauss, 1929) accessible through the analysis of social representations (Jodelet, 1997), enables the identification of an interface which can be studied between the individual and the collective. Secondly, research operationalization makes it possible to identify the sixteenth century as a significant crossroad for the study of Western and Andean civilizations through Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa’s representations of the Spanish Self and the Inca Other. Finally, discourse analysis (Sabourin, 2009) unveils a polarizing social grammar between the Self and the Other which involves the three realms of meaning (religious, intellectual and political) observed in Sarmiento’s discourse. The author’s theological, intellectual and political positions thus revealed lead, in turn, to the collective stories and discourses which prevailed in Western and Andean civilizations at the time, and invites a further question: Is this polarization unique to Sarmiento’s social location or does it constitute a truly Western civilizational phenomenon?

The way the Old Republic had absorbed the national culture as well as differences in Portuguese Language in Brazil has been studied in this work. To do so, the Pedro II School s Teaching Programs ( Programas de Ensino do Colégio de Pedro II ), the National Anthology ( Antologia Nacional ) , written by Fausto Barreto and Carlos de Laet, the History of Brazilian Literature ( História da Literatura Brasileira ) from Sílvio Romero, and the Portuguese Grammar ( Gramática Portuguesa ) written by Júlio Ribeiro have had to be analyzed within it. In this matter the changes in the teaching of Portuguese Language and reading as well as its difficulties and connection with national culture might become known and interpreted. The starting point is the work basis of the History of the Linguistics Ideas, and a panorama of politics, economics, society, intellectuality, and culture in Brazil. The aim has been to know the Brazilian society at that time as a whole, and furthermore, comprehend the nature of the decisions made at the Ginásio Nacional ex- Pedro II School s in the teaching of Portuguese Language. Moreover, the three above mentioned works were analyzed and their authors roles in the teaching and in the national culture cleared up along with the choices presented in each compendium related to the themes and authors National Anthology and History of Brazilian Literature. The connection between these compendiums about a supposed build-up of a Brazilian culture belonging is presented after having identified their writers attitudes towards the language changes in phonetics, morphology, and syntax. At last, the teaching in Portuguese is related to the heritages of the Old Republic.

No. of bitstreams: 1 marcia goncalves.pdf: 609718 bytes, checksum: 703c62279bb14a3fa9853746fa39e4ad (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-05-28 / This paper relates to the research line of History and Description of Portuguese Language. It has as theme the reforms in Portuguese Language programs in late 19th and early 20th century, and, as subject matter of study, the Official Programs of the Curriculum of Portuguese Language from the years of 1882 to 1912 of the secondary course of Colégio Pedro II (RJ). The purpose of this work is to examine the Portuguese Language programs of the delimited period. Specifically: 1. to describe the Portuguese Language programs from 1882 to 1912; 2. to compare their similarities and differences. The study is theoretically based on the History of Linguistic Ideas. The material for analysis was selected from the work of Ariclé Vecchia and Karl Michael Lorenz, Programa de Ensino da Escola Secundária Brasileira (1850-1951). As regards the purpose, the results obtained indicated that, in the educational programs, the Brazilian historical and political moment is present in the composition of the Portuguese Language Programs, designed for Imperial Colégio Pedro II, under the influences of illuminist and scientistic trends. The description and comparison of these programs indicate constant changes, most of the time, similar in their extension and different in their content. It was concluded that the organization of the programs and their continuous reforms resulted in detriment to teaching and learning. Studying the organization of Portuguese Language programs of past times is relevant to re-think current educational practices. Notwithstanding, such studies need to be continued, as the investigation performed focused only on the Portuguese Language programs from 1882 to 1912 / Esta dissertação situa-se na linha de pesquisa História e Descrição da Língua Portuguesa.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Adriana Alves Moraes de Souza.pdf: 767217 bytes, checksum: 889c80bf275cc4ad0a61ebf5ca34b67a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-05-28 / Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais / The theme of this dissertation is the process of referenciality and the objective of analyzing the direct and indirect anaphoric processes for the (re) construction of discourse objects and of these to the meaning of the text, in chronicles produced in the Middle Ages by Fernão Lopes. The research, under the viewpoint of Textual Linguistics, justifies itself through the relevance of the theme, mainly due to a lack of works of this textual sort, which circulated during the Middle Ages. Keeping the objective of the research in mind, two of Fernão Lopes chronicles were chosen, having as their theme the romance between D. Pedro I and Inês de Castro, in which the direct and indirect anaphoras used in the construction of the discourse objects were analyzed, for the understanding of the text as a whole, seeing that such objects are built from a determined historical context. The results indicate that Fernão Lopes, in his chronicles, after having introduced the references, keeps us bound predominately by using pronominalizations, repetitions, defined nominal expressions and elipses, ensuring the flow of the text and the textual coherence.

Visiting the classic narratives, the intertextual dialogue is established between the oral tradition and modern and contemporary texts based in building procedures that bring to evidence the humor and the parody. The adopted methodology used for reading the corpus is descriptive-analytical. The theoretical support that backgrounds the identification of the intertextuality and parody in the selected writings are referred in the authors Mikhail Bakhtin, Julia Kristeva, Linda Hutcheon e Affonso Romano de Sant Anna. In the study of fairy tales André Jolles e Nelly Novaes Coelho deserve to be emphasized. Monteiro Lobato innovates children s literature inserting criticism and freedom of expression, disrupting the traditional pattern. In the specific case of the recovery of fairy tales, Monteiro Lobato institutes the dialogical scene, modifying the narrator s status now less authoritative and closer to the reader. Through intertextuality, the author revisits the traditional narratives, creating a new way of telling these stories giving bigger dynamicity to the text, due to the colloquialism adopted in the language, in addition to the active participation of several characters, specially the childish ones. Pedro Bandeira takes the same direction intensifying the parodistic effect building the narrative, what leads to the supposition of his affiliation to Monteiro Lobato when you verifies that to build the dialogue with oral tradition in O Fantástico Mistério de Feiurinha, firstly, the author revisits the episodes of Reinações de Narizinho / Este trabalho analisa as obras Reinações de Narizinho, especificamente, o recorte Cara de Coruja , de Monteiro Lobato e O Fantástico Mistério de Feiurinha, de Pedro Bandeira a partir do resgate dos contos de fadas.
