The subject of this bachelor thesis is the logics and counter-logics that have structured the perception of transsexualism and the now abolished sterilization requirement for legal recognition of sex change within the Swedish legal system and governmental authority. The analyzed material consists of judgments from two court cases with opposing verdicts that took place in 2004-2005 and 2012. The main conflict in the first court case was about if the sterilization requirement entailed the destruction of frozen germ cells or not. In the second court case the antagonism was mainly about if the sterilization requirement itself was legitimate or not. The differentiation in the verdicts and the expressed logics between the court cases was through analyze linked to discursive displacements in media coverage and judicial descriptions of transsexuals and their legal rights.

The aim with this study is to investigate how racial biology gained its foothold in the Swedish welfare society, the consequences it entailed and how to motivate sanctions against individuals who were considered to deviate from the norm. In order to investigate these issues, I have used discourse analysis as a method. The material I have used has consisted of motions to the Swedish parliament, journal entries and other documents of importance that have been written during this time. The consequences of racial biology are the eugenics measures that affect a large group of the population, through sterilization and institutionalization. The actions are motivated by the need for protection of society and the need to reduce the risk of degeneration of the genes. The most evident in the documents, to the Swedish parliament, regarding the establishment of a racial biology institute are cost effective and degeneration issues.

Projektet genomförs tillsammans med företaget Getinge AB som ligger i Getinge.   Syftet med projektet är att utveckla en lastbärare som ska bli en Getingelösning. Företaget har föravsikt att kunna erbjuda sina kunder en automatiserad helhetslösning inom steriliseringsprocessen inom Life Science-området. I rapporten så kommer det att presenteras ett slutgiltigt koncept på lastbärare som Getinge kan använda i deras kommande utveckling av lastbärare, för att tillgodose alla behov och krav som ställs. Getinge har ingen universal lösning som kan agera som plattform vid affärsmöjligheter, i stället blir lastbäraren mer kundunik. Projektets mål är att hitta en lösning på problemet och även skapa mervärde åt kunden. Antalet steriliserade produkter begränsas av autoklavens volym samt hur effektiv lastbäraren är på att utnyttja varje volymenhet. Verktygen som tillämpats bygger på Lean Produktutveckling med bland annat SWOT, intervjuer, BAD-PAD-CAD-MAD, FMEA-analys.   Det slutgiltiga konceptet har en innovationshöjd som maximerar kapaciteten och ökar användarmöjligheten. / The project is carried out together with the company Getinge AB, located in Getinge, Sweden.  The purpose of the project is to develop a load carrier that will become a Getinge solution. The company intends to be able to offer its customers an automated complete solution within the sterilization process within the Life Science area. The report will present a final concept for load carriers that Getinge can use in their future development of load carriers, to meet all needs and requirements.  Getinge has no universal solution that can act as a platform for business opportunities, instead the load carrier becomes a unique customer solution. The project's goal is to find a solution to the problem and create added value for the customer. The number of sterilized products is limited by the volume of the autoclave and how efficient the load carrier is at utilizing each volume unit.  The tools applied are based on Lean Product Development with, among other things, SWOT, interviews, BAD-PAD-CAD-MAD, FMEA analysis.  The final concept has an innovation height that maximizes capacity and increases user potential.

The State Institution for Education of Feebleminded Girls was one of the two swedish educational institutions established under state management in the 1920s and came to be the starting point for further government operations for the mentally deficient. The purpose of this paper was to investigate the activities of the State Institution for Education of Feebleminded Girls, out of what needs the institution filled in Sweden’s care for the mentally deficient. The institution has tried to be understood from the view of eugenics and the perspective of children that was current during the 1900s first half.To fulfill the purpose of the study, the archives for the State Institution for Education of Feebleminded Girls was studied and analyzed with basis of previous research on Sweden’s care for the mentally deficient and the impact from eugenics and Sweden’s child perspective.The study shows that the State Institution for Education of Feebleminded Girls mostly existed to educate students and adapt them to the community, which the institution did by education, disciplinary interventions and sterilizations. It is found in the study that the institution didn’t have any regular care of individuals in any great extent, which is also consistent with what previous research have reported concerning Sweden’s care for the mentally deficient. The study further shows that the State Institution for Education of Feebleminded Girls was largely coloured by the perception of mentally deficient as a threat to society. It appears that the institution primarily focused upon the interests of society and therefore often reduced the individual's interests and autonomy.

This bachelor thesis has studied the relationship between politics and birth control for men. By doing a qualitative content analysis on 18 motions and propositions and carrying out two interviews the two following research questions have been answered: How is the relationship between politics and birth control for men? and How is the relationship between politics and innovations in LARC for men? First of all the results show that the relationship consists of a demand for birth control for men from politicians. However, there is a different point of view regarding birth control for men and politicians than what political institutions such as the Swedish riksdag and the Swedish government believe. The motions and the interviews that I studied showed that birth control for men is about prioritising men’s sexual health and right now it is not prioritised. It also indicates that the relationship between politics and innovations in LARC for men is scarce, not many politicians talk about the need for LARCs both in a general sense but also in a specific sense such as vasectomy. Also different committees do not talk at all about LARCs. The results from the interviews showed that both politicians and scientists feel that birth control for men should be a priority and more should be done in order for change to be made. Lastly, more research needs to be done in order to be able to generalize the results to a bigger population.
