Ipendo Web Portal : Utveckling av en flexibel koncernportal i Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

Wallén, Anton January 2009 (has links)

A Contemporary Six Sigma and Lean Integration : Towards the Ideal State / En Modern Integration av Six Sigma och Lean : Mot det Ideala Stadiet

Wenchert, Jonn January 2017 (has links)
A new reality, where human labor is replaced by automated machines is causing production management to rethink how they can steer the production to meet their customers demand. There is a gap of values, techniques and tools to communicate with the processes existing in the new modern factories, where data sometimes is the single output. This thesis purpose was to develop a model out of Lean and Six Sigma, as an answer to how modern factory could work with an information system, reaching the ideal state.   Through a theoretical analysis, Lean and Six Sigma differences in values, techniques and tools were weighted by the ideal state and recommendations from literature. Through a unstructured interview and system design review with a logistic group at a Swedish Modern Factory (SMF) a concept of an information system was developed. A project to test the model was initialized, where Define, Measure and Analyze phase was conducted. The model was thereafter modified from the projects implications.   The result was a Lean Six Sigma model which values are customer focus, ideal state, result orientation, committed leadership, education and involvement. The technique follow a DMAIC cycle and continuous improvements through a current to future state approach. The used techniques were considered Six Sigma heavy, where Leans principles are considered into the models values. The information system supports the model in setting the processes of the factory in either stability or potential state, where they differ in Measure and Analyze phase. The test at SMF developed several assignable causes to variation on the component As lead time. The model adapted after the test to involve a Measurement System Analysis (MSA), before setting the next current state of the process.

Role of CG9650 in Neuronal Development And Function of Drosophila Melanogaster

Murthy, Smrithi January 2016 (has links) (PDF)
The nervous system is the most complex system in an organism. Functioning of the nervous system requires proper formation of neural cells, as well as accurate connectivity and signaling among them. While the major events that occur during these processes are known, the finer details are yet to be understood. Hence, an attempt was made to look for novel genes that could be involved in them. The focus of the present study is on CG9650, a gene that was uncovered in a misexpression screen, as a possible player in neuronal development in Drosophila melanogaster. The first chapter of the thesis reviews existing knowledge about neuronal development and function. The first section of this chapter explains in brief the formation and specification of neural stem cells, and their differentiation to neurons and glia. Sections 2 and 3 describe neuronal connectivity and signaling with respect to axon growth, synapse formation, function and plasticity. A comparison of invertebrate and vertebrate neuronal development is provided in section 4 of this chapter. This part also explains the use of Drosophila as a model for neuronal development and function. Chapter 2 describes the expression pattern of CG9650, which was characterized to gain insights into the possible role it plays during Drosophila neurogenesis.CG9650 is expressed in multiple cell types in the nervous system at the embryonic stage. Some of the cell sub-types have been identified from their morphology and position. Expression was restricted to neurons in the larval stage (except in the optic lobe, where it was expressed in precursors also), and continued in the pupal stage. No expression was seen in adults (except in the optic lobe). CG9650 has a putative DNA binding region, which bears homology to the mouse proteins CTIP1 and CTIP2, implying that CG9650 is possibly a transcription factor. In order to understand the function of CG9650, the protein was knocked down panneuronally. The resultant animals showed locomotor defects at both larval and adult stages, which have been described in chapter 3. Knock down larvae showed reduced displacement and speed of movement. The number of peristaltic cycles was also reduced in these animals but the cycle period was normal. In adults, movement was uncoordinated and righting reflex was lost, resulting in inability to walk, climb or fly. These results imply a defect in neuronal signaling. Sensory perception was unaffected in these animals. Stage specific knockdown of CG9650 indicated that the requirement for this protein is primarily during the larval stage. All CG9650-expressing neurons in the ventral nerve cord were glutamatergic, implying that its role in controlling locomotor activity is likely through glutamatergic circuits. Following up on these observations, signaling at the neuromuscular junction was assessed in CG9650 knock down animals. Chapter 4 discusses the signaling defects seen on CG9650 knock down, and the possible role of this protein. Electrophysiological recordings from Dorsal Longitudinal Muscles showed reduced and irregular neuronal firing in the knock down animals. These animals also had reduced bouton and active zone numbers. Moreover, overexpression of BRP, an active zone protein, rescued the locomotor defects caused by knock down of CG9650. Chapter 5 reports the effect of over expression of CG9650. Pan-neural over expression of CG9650 resulted in embryos with severe axon scaffolding defects, as well as aberrant neuronal and glial pattern. However, the incorrectly positioned glial cells in these embryos did not express CG9650, indicating that their aberrant positioning was probably due to incorrect signaling from the neurons. In conclusion, this study reports the requirement for CG9650, a hitherto unknown protein, in locomotor activity and signaling, thus ascribing for it a role in neuronal development and function of Drosophila melanogaster.

Uso do espalhamento de luz para o estudo do efeito de uréia sobre agregados supramoleculares e monitoramento do peso molecular em reações de polimerização / Use of light scattering to study the effect of urea about supramolecular aggregates and monitoring of the molecular weight in polymerization reactions

Fábio Herbst Florenzano 18 June 1999 (has links)
Light scattering techniques (static and dynamic) were used to detenninate the effect of urea on supramolecular aggregates and to monitor on-line molar mass ofpolymerization reactions. For the first set of investigation it was already established that urea increases the CMC and the dissociation degree (α) of ionic micelles (CTABr, TTABr, and SDS). From fluorescence suppression studies it was found that urea diminishes the ionic binding in zwitterionic and cationic micelles as well as in cationic vesicles. Bromide and chloride ionic selectivity in cationic micelles was found to nearly disappear in the presence of urea. Light scattering (static) detenninations showed that the weight averaged molecular weight (Mw) ofboth SDS and CTABr are invariant by the presence of the denaturant. A slight increase in the excluded volume tenn (A2) was detected for CTABr in the presence of 3M urea. In parallel both A2 and the radius of gyration (γ) of two polyelectrolytes (PAA and Hyaluronic acid) were not affected by the presence of urea. Sphere-to-rod concentration transitions (2nd CMC) of TIABr micelles increased in the presence of urea and the MW of rod particles were observed to decrease. For the insoluble mixture of CTABr/Polystyrenesulfonate solubilization was achieved in the presence of 3M urea. These set of results were explained as a result of the dual effect of urea, that is, the indirect effect by changing the properties of the solvent and the direct effect by solvating the hydrophilic domain of the aggregates and contributing with a stronger dipole moment. The second set of experiments was directed towards the real-time, on-line monitoring of Mw of polymerization reactions. This new approach could be succeeded by the coupling a light scattering detector, an UV photometer and a differential refractometer on line with a HPLC system. Mw growth formed in the polymerization of N-vynil-pirrolidone was accomplished with a small inherent error. Within the studied conditions Mw reached a plateau at early polymerization stages, after that only an increase in the number of polymer kinetic chains was observed. Current kinetic models were unable to predict the observed Mw growth pattern. This system is of great importance in basic and technological applications by virtue of its on-line capability.

Norman, Agnes, Lundin, Carl January 2021 (has links)
This thesis explores if there is a connection between municipal demographics and how often the municipality involves users with disability in the development of its online services. The thesis derives its theory from previous studies on user involvement and participation (UPI),  e-government development and county bureaucracy. The method is quantitative, with data gathering through surveys aimed at municipality representatives as well as downloaded from Statistiska Centralbyrån. The analysis consists of statistical methods and tests of analysis using the software SPSS. The result is analyzed by being compared to previous studies to find explanations for any existing relationships. The thesis has found some correlation between the size of a county’s population and its user involvement, when developing public digital services. The thesis has also found some correlation between a county’s population size and how often they involve users with disability. Furthermore, the thesis has found some correlation between the mean of age of a county’s population and how often they involve users with disability. The study also shows a lack of awareness of the importance of user involvement. One explanation for the findings could be the bureaucracy that controls the municipal finances.

Transcriptome dynamics in early Drosophila development at tissue and single-cell resolution

Wahle, Philipp 14 May 2019 (has links)
The embryonic nervous system of Drosophila melanogaster derives from the neurogenic ectoderm, which is subdivided into three distinct domains. Several key transcription factors show expression exclusive to individual columns and endow their expression domains with characteristic identities. The genes vnd and ind, for example, are homeodomain transcription factors expressed in two columns. Both have been argued to be necessary and sufficient to confer the ventral column or intermediate column fates. To address the question how these transcription factors confer identities to their expression domains I determined the transcriptomic profile of these tissues in wild type and a Vnd mutant embryos. In order to do this, I established a protocol that allowed me to sequence the transcriptomes in developing embryos with spatio-temporal resolution. I found that upon knockout of Vnd, the ventral column largely looses its neurogenic identity rather than converting its fate, as models would predict. I identified Eyeless as a novel candidate transcription factor that shapes early nerve cord identities. Furthermore the data indicates that in Vnd acts as both, activator and repressor. Excessive co-binding with the GAGA-factor GAF suggests a mechanism by which this activation might be achieved. To push spatio-temporal resolution towards the single cell level, I collaborated with Nikolaos Karaiskos to extract single cell transcriptomes of a single developmental stage. This has allowed us to establish a digital single-cell resolved transcriptomic map of a single developmental stage. We used this map to predict expression patterns of thousands of genes with striking accuracy. We identified the Hippo signaling pathway as a spatially regulated pathway in early embryos and showed that it directs the interruption of cell cycle synchronicity in specific areas of the embryo.

Nowak, Jesper, Ström Liljengård, Emma January 2015 (has links)
Open-plan offices are widely used by companies today. There is also secluded rooms in the form of group and meeting rooms, although these are often limited in numbers. Not being able to book these rooms when needed leads to problems planning for example customer meetings. Which is also a problem for students in the school world. Today there is a number of studie rooms at Royal Institute of Technology in Kista, school for information and communication technology, where none of them are bookable. Earlier there where bookable studie rooms in the library and in other parts of the school, but such a system is no longer available because of the new facilities. The result of this is that students at the school are not able to plan their studies in an effective way because they do not know if they have a suitable place to study at between lectures or exercises. Because of this there is a need for a system that can provide students the opportunity to book a studie room. The thesis documents the development of a booking system prototype for study rooms. The prototype have been developed with HTML, PHP, PostgreSQL, JavaScript och Ajax. The thesis contains a literature studie of the current booking systems available. An analysis and an evaluation of these systems have been used as a foundation for the development. Interviews of students have been used as a data collection method. Summarizing the students opinion gave an indication of what is required by the system in terms of functionality and the user interface. The project also describes the working methods that have been used. The project resulted in a prototype for the booking system, where users can see all the available study rooms, make a booking, confirm the booking and remove their bookings. The prototype uses a database that is fully modified. The result from an evaluation of the prototype indicates what aspects that needs to be improved in future work.

Designing for Programming Without Coding : User Experience of Mobile Low-code Software

Korczak, Anna January 2023 (has links)
In our progressively digitized world, the escalating demand for software solutions intensifies the need for proficient developers. Low-Code Development Platforms (LCDPs) present a promising approach to address this necessity, empowering individuals without traditional programming skills to create software applications. However, despite their potential, these platforms are often not accessible or intuitive for non-professional developers. This research examines the design of LCDPs, with an emphasis on enhancing the user experience for non-programmers. By investigating the usability of LCDPs and designing a prototype based on the findings, my aim is to contribute to the ongoing discussion about the democratization of software development and to propose enhancements that could make LCDPs more user-friendly, inclusive, and usable across devices. The research involves a combination of literature review, interviews, prototype development, and user testing, providing a multifaceted perspective on the topic. Moreover, it discusses potential implications for the design of LCDPs, as well as for the broader field of interaction design.
