Previous issue date: 2012-03-29 / Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos / In this thesis, we investigate in the first part of the Theaetetus how Plato develops the concept of aísthesis, demonstrating that at first he alternates it between the senses of mental perception and bodily sensation, and finally fixed it as mere passive reception of data from the five senses. This definition has as its objective, unlink it from the character of opinion, that Protagoras associated to the term, while inserting it into the size of the sensible world, whose key feature is the constant change. From this viewpoint, we investigate the centrality of the sense of aísthesis within the theory of perception shown in the secret doctrine, in this dialogue, which in our view, would be a first attempt of Plato to a descriptive theory of perception that explains how we capture sensitive data by through the soul, accepting shares in an effort dialectical thesis of Protagoras and Heraclitus. We also analyze the link between the theories of Theaetetus, Protagoras and Heraclitus exposed in this first part of the dialogue, and how they interrelate in order to make clear that Plato maintains intact his Theory of Forms.

This thesis has two aims: the first is to discuss epistemological presuppositions underlying the internalist conception of mind that emphasizes the representational mediation between a knowing subject and the world. The second consists in proposing and debating the Epistemological Hypothesis (H), according to which there is a Direct Perception of Invariances in Social-Cultural Behavior. At first the methodology of Cartesian analysis and synthesis is discussed, questioning its adequacy to the study of action-perception. Special attention is giving to Ryle s criticism of the Cartesian method of analysis that allows the generation of categorical mistakes, applied to the study of perceptual knowledge. An alternative to representational perception is shown to be the Theory of Direct Perception (TPD), proposed by Gibson, which will be applied to the analysis of socialcultural behavior. Some difficulties are discovered during this project; among them is the problem of personal autonomy. A possible solution for that problem is to emphasize the relational variances between individuals and their environment, these variances occur together with the structural and transformational invariances. The invariants as well as variants form the specifics of the interaction between individual and environment, and thereby shape the personal autonomy.

Narrativas de professores de teoria e percepção musical: caminhos de formação profissional / Narratives of teachers of music theory and musicalperception: professional vocation pathwaysMachado, Renata Beck 26 June 2012 (has links)
This dissertation, intitled Narratives of Teachers of Music Theory and Musical
Perception: Professional Vocation Pathways, is part of the graduate program in
education of the Federal University of Santa Maria, in the line of research Education
and Arts (LP4), and is linked to the Narramus/UFSM research group. The text
discusses the following chapters: Composing the theme, Form, Movement Analysis,
Cadences and Bibliographic References. It includes theory and
undergraduates/teachers Musical Perception of four public institutions of higher
education of music from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The collaborators are graduate in
all grade levels without enabling the specificity for teaching the discipline of theory
and Musical Perception, context from which emerges the point question: how to give
the training processes for the teaching of teachers of Musical Perception and Theory
of this research? To realize this answer, in chapter Form, the focal point is the history
of life, more specifically, of thematic Oral history; speak with Oral history in order to
produce documents from thematic interviews, being that study focused on the
chosen topic. Here are read authors dedicated to methodological studies that take
the lived as a producer of knowledge, being the main Pineau (2006, 2011), Souza
(2006, 2011), Josso (2004), Alberti (2004 e 2005), Szymanski (2004), Schaller
(2011), Meihy (2000), Connelly e Clandinin (1995) and Freitas (2006). To the
interpretations, the text proposed in four movements. The first movement of analysis
give emphasis to the experience and the fascination for lived with the memory as a
source of coherence to the choice of teaching in theory and Musical Perception. The
argument relies on the searches that take the experience as indispensable in the
formative processes and non professional and personal division, among them Nóvoa
(1995), Josso (2004), Holly (1995), Goodson (1995), Pineau (2011), França and
Barbato (2011), Tardif (2010) and Souza (2006). The second movement is the
knowledge necessary to the teacher of theory and Musical Perception, punctuating
these processes of formation. Here are studied Tardif (2010), Josso (2004), Moita
(1995), Otutumi (2008), Barbosa (2009), Morosini (2006), Oliveira (2009), Isaia
(2009) and Maciel (2009). The third movement of analysis focuses on the theory and
Musical Perception in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and, to some extent, to articulate
concepts inherent in the area. To this, approaches Louro (2004), Otutumi (2008),
Galizia (2007 and 2008), Borba (2011), Orlandi (1998), Oliveira (2009), Bernardes
(2001) and Barbosa (2009). Finally, the fourth Movement points Louro (2008), Tardif
(2010), Morosini (2006), Isaia (2009) and Borba (2011), to reflect about the
Participam
Forma, vale-se da História de Vida, mais especificamente, da História Oral temática;
(2004 e 2005), Szymanski (2004), Schaller (2011), Meihy (2000), Connelly e
Clandinin (1995) e Freitas (2006).
A argumentação recorre a
Tardif (2010) e Souza (2006). O Segundo Movimento trata do saber-fazer,
formação do professor dessa disciplina. Aqui são utilizados os estudos de Tardif
(2010), Josso (2004), Moita (1995), Otutumi (2008), Barbosa (2009), Morosini
(2006), Oliveira (2009), Isaia (2009) e Maciel (2009).
Orlandi (1998), Oliveira (2009), Bernardes (2001) e Barbosa (2009).

Previous issue date: 2007-10-19 / There are different ways of conceiving the image in the digital communication. When
investigating some discourses regarding the digital image, we came across some
constant: the prevalence of the vision (ocularcentrism) and the absence of body
reference (disembodiment). The digital image is conceived as simulacrum (Baudrillard),
as disembodiment (Kittler), or phenomenon without reference (Mitchell). Moreover, in
many of the discourses about communication, one conceives a homogeneous space of
absolute transparency, in which obstacles do not exist, either conflicts, or differences
(Vattimo). In our thesis we assert that the reasons of those conceptual marks are the
slight knowledge of simulacrum, deriving from the Platonism; of representation,
deriving from the Cartesianism; of transparency, deriving of the Neoplatonism. We
mainly investigate those conceptual traditions with respect to the concept of image and
the epistemic statute of the perception. We established a connection between some
visual experiences of the past and the new possibilities disposed by the digital
technologies. We then looked for new philosophical bases that could set the image free
from inferior epistemic condition. The Bergson s phenomenology fed the thinking of
the digital image and the perception as embodiment phenomenon, in which the body has
a fundamental role in the significance and in the construction of the subjectivity. Thus,
new corporal and subjective dimensions announce themselves and show new ways of
man being. Body and subjectivity together in the relation to digital medium open new
horizons to think the communication and the epistemic statute of the digital image as a
Investigamos essas
experiências visuais do passado e as novas possibilidades disponibilizadas pelas
tecnologias digitais. Procuramos então novas bases filosóficas que libertassem a
imagem de sua condição epistemológica inferior. A fenomenologia bergsoniana
