A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the internet. The work from a qualitative case study carried out with 31 students of the third year from a public high school in São Luís/MA (Brazil). The challenges and potential of the methodolgy were examined regarding the students interest in discussing the book Near to the Wild Heart, by Clarice Lispector. A WebQuest entitled Web Adventure with Clarice Lispector was developed and applied to the students during the research. Data collection was conducted through that the WebQuest methodology is a good pedagogical strategy for teaching literature and when it is associated with Web 2.0 tools, it stimulates curiosity, authorship, student's creativity and interest in discussing literary works. / A pesquisa tem como propósito avaliar as potencialidades da metodologia WebQuest para o ensino e a aprendizagem de Literatura. A WebQuest é uma atividade orientada para a pesquisa em que alguma, ou toda, a informação com que os alunos interagem provém de recursos na Internet. O trabalho resulta de um estudo de caso de natureza qualitativa realizado com 31 alunos do terceiro ano do ensino médio de uma escola pública federal na cidade de São Luís/Maranhão (Brasil). No decorrer do estudo são examinados os desafios e potencialidades da metodologia no que concerne ao interesse dos alunos pela discussão da obra Perto do Coração Selvagem, de Clarice Lispector. Durante a pesquisa, foi desenvolvida e aplicada aos alunos a WebQuest intitulada Aventura na Web com Clarice Lispector. O levantamento dos dados foi realizado por meio de questionários e entrevista com os alunos. Os dados obtidos indicam que a metodologia WebQuest constitui uma boa estratégia pedagógica para o ensino de Literatura e que, quando associada às ferramentas da Web 2.0, estimula a curiosidade, a autoria, a criatividade dos alunos e o interesse pela discussão de obras literárias.

To monitor the evolution of these tools and learn how to use them is a constant challenge for Internet Users and companies. We can mention as new tools, the social networks and their thousands of virtual communities, the instant messagings, blogs, widgets, wikis and many others. The focus of my research is to analyze how companies are using these Social Networks and for what purposes, illustrated with real cases. Over fifty Social Networks were mapped and as this sampling is very wide, only three were analyzed in detail, which, for their nature and number of registered members have shown to be favorable to attend the objective of this work. They are: Orkut (www.orkut.com), Facebook (www.facebook.com) and Linkedin (www.linkedin.com). The structure of the work was based on knowledge areas like: Customer Service, Advertising & Marketing, Research and Development, and Recruitment and Selection. Finally, how these Social Networks behave in the mobility world was investigated as an effect of there being accessed from numerous mobile devices that use access ways as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, wi-max, 3G and others. The work concludes that some companies have already woken up to the power of Social Networks, exploring information to generate new ideas. This will put them in advantage to the companies that have not entered the new paradigm / Com o advento da WEB 2.0 como plataforma para um uso colaborativo da internet, surgem novas ferramentas em um curto espaço de tempo. Acompanhar a evolução destas ferramentas e aprender a utilizá-las é um desafio constante para os Internautas e empresas. Podemos mencionar como novas ferramentas, as Redes Sociais e suas milhares de comunidades virtuais, os instant messagings , os blogs, os widgets, os wikis entre outras. O foco desta pesquisa é analisar com mais profundidade o funcionamento e a utilização das Redes Sociais. Analiso como as empresas estão utilizando essas redes sociais e com quais objetivos, ilustrados com casos reais. Foram mapeadas mais de 50 Redes Sociais e por ser uma amostragem muito grande, foram analisadas apenas 3 (três) detalhadamente. Por sua natureza e número de membros registrados mostraram-se propícias para atender o objetivo deste trabalho. São elas: o Orkut (www.orkut.com), o Facebook (www.facebook.com) e o Linkedin (www.linkedin.com). Analiso diferentes usos das redes sociais por diversos departamentos das empresas como: Serviço de Atendimento ao Consumidor, Propaganda e Marketing, Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento, e Recrutamento e Seleção. Por fim, comparo como essas Redes Sociais se comportam no mundo da mobilidade, sendo acessadas de vários dispositivos móveis que utilizam meios de acesso como Bluetooth, wi-fi, wi-max, 3G e outros. No final deste trabalho chego à conclusão de que algumas empresas já acordaram para a utilidade e o poder das Redes Sociais, explorando informações que podem gerar novas idéias o que as diferencia das empresas que ainda não entraram nesse novo paradigma

Social networking software in higher education : investigating the influence of using different interaction levels on learners’ achievement and satisfaction

Education in knowledge society is challenged with a lot of problems in particular the interaction between the teacher and learner in social networking software as a key factor affects the learners’ learning and satisfaction (Prammanee, 2005) where “to teach is to communicate, to communicate is to interact, to interact is to learn” (Hefzallah, 2004, p. 48). Analyzing the relation between teacher-learner interaction from a side and learning outcome and learners’ satisfaction from the other side, some basic problems regarding a new learning culture using social networking software are discussed. Most of the educational institutions pay a lot of attentions to the equipments and emerging Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in learning situations. They try to incorporate ICT into their institutions as teaching and learning environments. They do this because they expect that by doing so they will improve the outcome of the learning process. Despite this, the learning outcome as reported in most studies is very limited, because the expectations of self-directed learning are much higher than the reality. Findings from an empirical study (investigating the role of teacher-learner interaction through new digital media wiki in higher education and learning outcome and learner’s satisfaction) are presented recommendations about the necessity of pedagogical interactions in support of teaching and learning activities in wiki courses in order to improve the learning outcome. Conclusions show the necessity for significant changes in the approach of vocational teacher training programs of online teachers in order to meet the requirements of new digital media in coherence with a new learning culture. These changes have to address collaborative instead of individual learning and ICT wiki as a tool for knowledge construction instead of a tool for gathering information. / Bildung in der Wissensgesellschaft ist mit einer Vielzahl von Herausforderungen verbunden. Insbesondere die Interaktion zwischen Lehrenden und Lernenden ist in sozialen Netzwerken durch Software bestimmt, die als ein wesentlicher Faktor den Lernerfolg der Lernenden und ihre Zufriedenheit bestimmt (Prammanee, 2005), da “to teach is to communicate, to communicate is to interact, to interact is to learn” (Hefzallah, 2004, S. 48). Die Analyse der Art der Lehrer-Schüler-Interaktion auf der einen Seite und das Lernergebnis und die Zufriedenheit der Lernenden auf der anderen Seite, sind einige grundlegende zu diskutierende Herausforderungen hinsichtlich einer neuen Lernkultur mit Social-Networking-Software. Eine Vielzahl der Bildungseinrichtungen achten daher auf die Ausstattung mit Ausrüstungen und zugehörigen Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (IKT) zur Gestaltung von Lernsituationen. Sie versuchen die IKT in ihren Institutionen als Lehr-und Lernumgebungen zu integrieren, da sie damit einen positiven Effekt auf den Ausgang des Lernprozesses verbinden. Trotzdem sind die Lernergebnisse, die in den meisten Studien untersucht wurden, sehr begrenzt. Es zeigt sich, dass die Erwartungen der Lehrkräfte an selbstgesteuertes Lernen viel höher sind, als die Ergebnisse der Studien repräsentieren. Auf Grundlage dieser Ausgangssituation wurde eine empirischen Studie (Untersuchung der Rolle der Lehrer-Schüler-Interaktion durch neue digitale Medien Wiki in der Hochschulbildung und des Lernerfolgs und der Zufriedenheit der Lernenden) durchgeführt. Aus den Ergebnissen wurden Empfehlungen über die Notwendigkeit der pädagogischen Interaktionen zur Unterstützung von Lehr-und Lernaktivitäten in Wiki Kursen abgeleitet, um den Lernerfolg zu verbessern. Die Schlussfolgerungen zeigen die Notwendigkeit für deutliche Änderungen in der Herangehensweise der beruflichen Bildung der Online-Lehrer, um die Anforderungen der neuen digitalen Medien im Einklang mit einer neuen Lernkultur zu erfüllen. Diese Veränderungen beeinhalten im Kern kooperatives statt individuelles Lernen und den Einsatz von IKT-Wiki als ein Werkzeug für die Wissenskonstruktion statt für das Sammeln von Informationen.

Der Einsatz von E-Learning durch Studierende der Medizin

Mittels E-Learning kann den spezifischen Erfordernissen der universitären medizinischen Ausbildung auf vielfältige Weise Rechnung getragen werden. Eine in den Anfangsjahren des WWW bestehende große Euphorie ist mittlerweile einer realistischeren Betrachtung der Möglichkeiten von E-Learning gewichen. Umso mehr ist ein gezielter Einsatz der speziellen Stärken von E-Learning – sei es als reines Lernen im WWW oder in Kombination mit klassischer Lehre als „Blended Learning“ – wünschenswert. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden Studierende aus zwei Studienjahren der medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Leipzig zu verschiedenen Aspekten des E-Learnings im Medizinstudium befragt. Der Fokus lag auf der Nutzungshäufigkeit, der Art des Einsatzes und den gewünschten Perspektiven. Zunächst konnte bestätigt werden, dass die technischen Voraussetzungen für die Nutzung von E-Learning mittlerweile bei praktisch allen Studierenden gegeben sind. Das WWW wird auf breiter Front für Studienzwecke eingesetzt und die Studierenden schätzen ihre eigenen Fähigkeiten im Umgang mit dem WWW als gut ein. Dabei besteht eine positive Korrelation zwischen der Nutzungshäufigkeit zwischen der Nutzungshäufigkeit und den selbst eingeschätzten Fähigkeiten. Es zeigte sich jedoch anhand verschiedener Einzelbefunde, dass von Seiten der Studierenden bei Weitem nicht die Möglichkeiten des Lernens mit dem WWW ausgeschöpft werden. Das WWW wird zwar auf verschiedenste Arten für das Studium eingesetzt, der Anteil aktiv partizipierender Nutzer im Sinne des Web 2.0 ist jedoch gering. Eine hohe Bekanntheit der lokalen Virtual Learning Community steht sehr geringen Bekanntheitsgraden von Portalen gegenüber, die eine Übersicht über die Bandbreite des E-Learnings für das Medizinstudium bieten und als Orientierungshilfe bei der Fülle der verfügbaren Angebote dienen könnten. Des Weiteren wird die Integration verschiedener E-Learning-Techniken in das Studium umso zurückhaltender bewertet, je mehr sie die bekannten Pfade der klassischen Präsenzlehre verlassen. Generell wünschen sich die wenigsten Studierenden einen völligen Ersatz klassischer Lehrmethoden durch E-Learning; vielmehr wird eine Ergänzung der klassischen Präsenzlehre durch E-Learning bevorzugt. Eine kritische Reflexion der online gewonnenen Informationen im Sinne der Medienkompetenz scheint mehrheitlich stattzufinden. Unterschiede zwischen den Semestern fanden sich in der vorliegenden Untersuchung kaum – mit Ausnahme einiger relativ gut erklärbarer Bereiche mit häufigerer Nutzung im höheren Semester. Statistisch signifikante geschlechterspezifische Unterschiede fanden sich lediglich bei der Häufigkeit eigener Beiträge im WWW zugunsten männlicher Studierender. Ein möglicher Ansatzpunkt für künftige Forschungsprojekte, der sich aus der Arbeit ergibt, wäre eine detailliertere Betrachtung derjenigen Studierenden, die sehr aktiv im WWW sind. Obwohl sie zahlenmäßig gering vertreten sind, pragen sie doch die virtuellen Lernumgebungen zum Teil erheblich mit. Bezüglich möglicher Perspektiven für die weitere Ausgestaltung von E-Learning besteht in der Zusammenschau der vorliegenden Ergebnisse sowohl auf studentischer als auch auf universitärer Seite noch viel Gestaltungspotential: Einerseits sollte das studentische Wissen um die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten der Integration des WWW in das Medizinstudium gefördert werden; andererseits ist die Umsetzung der von den Studierenden geforderten E-Learning-Techniken wünschenswert und eine verstärkte curriculare Einbindung von E Learning zu überdenken.

Denna studie är en fortsättning på kandidatuppsatsen Sveriges kommuners turisthemsidor – En studie om var Sveriges kommuner befinner sig i webbutvecklingen i relation till web 2.0 genomförd av Johansson och Winther som är två av författarna till denna studie. Syftet med denna studie är att ge en ökad förståelse för hur Sveriges kommuner arbetar med sina turisthemsidor samt sociala medier. Denna kandidatuppsats genomfördes genom en observation samt kvalitativa intervjuer med tio av Sveriges 290 kommuner. Resultatet visade att kommunerna använder sina turisthemsidor och sociala medier för att nå ut till önskade målgrupper. Det visade sig även att flera av kommunerna befinner sig i en utvecklingsfas gällande webbplatserna. Endast hälften av kommunerna med turisthemsidor har en digital strategi. / This study continues on the bachelor thesis Sweden’s municipalities’ tourist sites - A study of where Sweden’s municipalities stand in their web development compared to web 2.0, conducted by Johansson and Winther who are two of the authors of this study.The purpose of this study is to provide a greater understanding of how Swedish municipalities work with their tourist websites and social media. This bachelor thesis was conducted by an observation and qualitative interviews with ten of Sweden's 290 municipalities. The results showed that municipalities use their tourist sites and social media to reach desired target audiences. It was also found that many of the municipalities are in a development phase regarding their tourist sites. Only half of the municipalities with tourist sites have a digital strategy.

Worldwide result over internetusers show that Sweden internet users comes at third place. The technological development has been explosive. Individuals can with the help of technology live some, in other cases all their social lifes through social media. Therefore organizations has a lot to gain by using social media to interact and start up dialogue with their audicence. There are different views whether a civic society has developed on internet or not. The focus in our thesis has been on NGO’s, if and how they choose to communicate with their audience on Facebook. The NGO’s in question was WWF, The Red Cross, UNICEF and Greenpeace. Our purpose with our thesis was to examine the communication on Facebook and what phraseology the organizations used on Facebook.   We have done this thesis through our theoretical framework with a Habermasian overhaul, further with Web 2.0, PR 2.0 and interactivity. With quantitative and qualitative methods we examined how the organizations used interactivity and if they opened up to a dialogue with their audience.   Our main findings was that the organizations didn’t use interactivity or opened up to a dialogue on Facebook. WWF was the organization that used interactivity and tried to start a dialogue. The organizations language was often casual and sometimes even personal. This suggests that social media has changed parts of the language organization can use on social media. The discussion whether social media is a new place for civic conversations and what role organizations and corportation can and should play is a discussion in time. Further academic research could focus on how NGO’s use different kinds of social media, also how the audience feel and think regarding interaction and dialogue on social media. These are questions that needs to be further explored.

Små till medelstora företags inställning till och användning av sociala medier : - En kvantitativ undersökning av den svenska marknaden

Sedan tidigt 90-tal har internet utvecklats och fått ett större inflytande på marknaden. Web 2.0 har varit en del i den utvecklingen och definieras som en teknologisk infrastruktur som har aktiverat det sociala fenomenet på webben. Web 2.0 har där igenom gett konsumenter en möjlighet att kommunicera med företag via sociala medier. I och med utvecklingen av Web 2.0 kan företag interagera med sina kunder genom nya kommunikationskanaler såsom Facebook, Twitter och Youtube med flera. Sociala medier har en ekonomisk fördel då marknadsföring kan genomföras till en lägre kostnad. Dock menar vissa forskare att sociala medier fortfarande befinner sig i ett embryo-tillstånd då experter tvivlar på dess faktiska betydelse. Att marknadsföra sig online har även bidragit till att teknologiska barriärer minskat, oavsett företagetsstorlek och resurser. Syfte med studien var att mäta små och medelstora företags attityder till och användande av sociala medier. Uppsatsen har genomförts med hjälp av en kvantitativ metod där vi valde att skicka ut en webbenkät till 350 slumpmässigt utvalda små till medelstora företag. Utifrån studiens resultat fann vi tendenser som pekade mot att det var vanligare att B2C företag använder sociala medier. De företag som inte använde sig av sociala medier menade bland annat på att företaget saknade kunskap eller anledning till att använda sociala medier samt att det var för tidskrävande. / For the past twenty years Internet has developed and increased its as cendant on themarket. Web 2.0 has been a part of that development and can be defined as a technical infra structure, which activated the social phenomena on the web and consumers chance to respond and interact with companies through social media. Facebook,Twitter and Youtube are examples of popular social media channels. Social media has economic advantages and can be implemented on a low budget compared to other marketing channels. How ever, some researchers state that social media is still in anembryonic state since experts are having doubts about social media’s actual importance. Online marketing has decreased the technological gap, regardless of company size and resources. The purpose with this study was to measure small and medium sized companies’ attitudes towards and usage of social media. A quantitative method was used for this assignment. A web survey was sent out to a random sample of 350 companies. Based on the results, we could see differences between B2B companies and B2C companies that suggested that users of social media were more common among B2C companies. Companies, which did not use social media,suggested that their company lacked knowledge or reason to use social media. In addition some companies claimed that social media was time consuming.

Die Wirtschaftskrise der Jahre 2007 bis 2010 ist an der deutschen Industrie nicht spurlos vorüber gegangen. Neben den drastischen Einbrüchen in Absatz und Umsatz, war sie aber auch dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die betroffenen Unternehmen sehr verhalten mit Mitarbeiterentlassungen reagierten. Vielmehr haben die Organisationen an ihrem Stammpersonal festgehalten, um sich deren Know-how zu sichern. Infolge der Krise war der Tenor der Wirtschaftsteilnehmer, dass aufgrund der weltweiten Vernetzungen, sie den volatilen Konjunkturverläufen auch zukünftig ausgesetzt sein werden. Die Unternehmen müssen deswegen lernen mit ihnen umzugehen. Dabei rücken immer mehr neue Technologien in den Fokus, die innerhalb des Unternehmens, die Zusammenarbeit der Mitarbeiter verbessern sollen. Das Thema ‚Enterprise 2.0‘ nimmt zunehmend Form an, die Vorstellungen und Umsetzungen werden konkreter. ‚Enterprise 2.0‘ ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sowohl Mitarbeiter als auch bestehende Unternehmensprozesse und -kommunikation vor neue Herausforderungen gestellt werden. Der Autor des Beitrags nimmt dies zum Anlass, in seinem Promotionsvorhaben den Fragestellungen nachzugehen, ob für den Einsatz von Web 2.0-Technologien, den Medien, die bei Enterprise 2.0 Verwendung finden, eine neue Generation Mitarbeiter notwendig ist.

O termo web 2.0 surgiu para qualificar uma segunda geração de comunidades e serviços, em um ambiente de interação e participação que engloba diversas linguagens. Com o crescimento da adesão à tecnologia digital, algumas barreiras que limitavam a colaboração nos conteúdos informativos foram superadas e o ambiente comunicacional tornou-se um espaço de intercâmbio para experiências e práticas do cotidiano. Nesse cenário, os internautas passam a ter uma relação mais aproximativa nos processos midiáticos presentes no suporte digital, no qual o cidadão pode se expressar, ter maior visibilidade e se relacionar a partir do momento em que ele produz, publica e compartilha qualquer tipo de conteúdo, seja de caráter informativo ou de entretenimento. A revisão bibliográfica abrangeu autores como Ciro Marcondes Filho, José Marques de Melo, Nelson Traquina, Alex Primo, Ana Brambilla, Marcelo Träsel, Raquel Recuero, Polyana Ferrari, Squirra, entre outros. O método de investigação utilizado é o qualitativo, por meio de uma pesquisa exploratória descritiva, do tipo estudo de caso. Os instrumentos para a investigação foram a observação direta assistemática e a entrevista semiestruturada (ou semiaberta). O principal resultado obtido é que o webjornalismo colaborativo no Portal R7 é prioritariamente induzido pelas redes sociais, especialmente o Facebook e o Twitter, inspirado no “call for action”, como estratégia para chamar à colaboração. As práticas jornalísticas estão intrinsicamente dependentes da ação do usuário, sendo que o jornalista agrega às práticas de checagem uma nova etapa, a de relacionamento com o usuário do Portal, para agregar e fidelizar a audiência, valorizando a colaboração em todas as etapas de produção.

Utilização das tecnologias da informação e comunicação, no contexto da web 2.0, na prática docente na educação superior / Use of information technology and communication in the context f web 2.0 in teaching practice in higher education

The use of Information and Communication Technologies constitutes pedagogical possibilities even more applied in the educational field. It shows a great expansion in the use of digital media and Web 2.0 services through collaborative tools that enable communication and collective formation of knowledge, recreating the traditional roles of professors and students. Based on this scenario, this research investigates the use of the Web 2.0 resources in the pedagogical practice of bachelor s degree professors from the possibilities offered by these tools of technology in the educational environment and through important factors in this process, such as the interaction and collaboration, it is also investigated whether the use of Web 2.0 helps develop cognitive skills in professors and students who use it. The locus of the research involved four schools in the Centro de Estudos Superiores de Maceió: School of Biological Sciences and Health, School of Applied Sciences and Technology, School of Education and Communication and School of Applied Social Sciences. The ones involved were the professors who teach in undergraduate courses at that institution, as well as students of these professors. The methodology used was the case study with a qualitative approach. Being the object of the study are the possibilities of collaboration tools for students and professors, which Web 2.0 features are being used on teaching practice, causes of non-use of tools, the results achieved by those who have included them in their subjects and content of Web 2.0 services and the development of cognitive skills for cyber-education. The results indicate that most professors still do not use the web 2.0 in their practice for reasons such as lack of time or they were not trained. They also indicate that using Web 2.0 in the educational context, professors and students develop cognitive skills that are essential to a good education, where collaboration and interaction are present. The research suggests that institutions of higher education must adopt policies for access and technical and teaching training for educators involved in the context of the new educational reality so more dynamic, interactive classes and real learning will be generated / A utilização das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação constitui possibilidades pedagógicas cada vez mais recorrentes no contexto educacional. Evidencia-se grande expansão no uso das mídias digitais e dos serviços da Web 2.0, por meio de ferramentas colaborativas, o que possibilita a comunicação e a formação coletiva dos conhecimentos, transformando os tradicionais papéis de professores e alunos. Com base nesse cenário, esta pesquisa investiga a utilização dos recursos da Web 2.0 na prática pedagógica de professores do bacharelado, a partir das possibilidades oferecidas por estas ferramentas da tecnologia no ambiente educativo, por meio de fatores importantes neste processo, como a interação e a colaboração. Investiga também se o uso da Web 2.0 ajuda a desenvolver competências cognitivas nos docentes e alunos que a utilizam. O lócus da pesquisa englobou quatro Faculdades do Centro de Estudos Superiores de Maceió: Faculdade de Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde; Faculdade de Ciências Exatas e Tecnológicas; Faculdade de Educação e Comunicação; e Faculdade de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas. Os envolvidos foram os professores que lecionam em cursos de bacharelado na referida instituição, bem como os alunos destes docentes. A metodologia utilizada foi o estudo de caso com abordagem qualitativa. No estudo são tratadas as possibilidades de colaboração das ferramentas para alunos e docentes, quais recursos da Web 2.0 estão sendo utilizadas na prática docente, as causas do não uso das ferramentas, os resultados alcançados por aqueles que já inseriram em suas disciplinas e conteúdos os serviços da Web 2.0 e o desenvolvimento de competências cognitivas para a cibereducação. Os resultados indicam que boa parte dos docentes pesquisados ainda não utiliza a Web 2.0 em sua prática pedagógica por motivos como falta de tempo ou por não estarem capacitados; indicam, também que ao utilizar a Web 2.0 no contexto educacional, alunos e docentes desenvolvem competências cognitivas essenciais para uma educação de qualidade, em que a colaboração e a interação se fazem presentes. A pesquisa sugere que as instituições de ensino superior devem adotar políticas de acesso e capacitação técnica e pedagógica para os educadores envolvidos no contexto da nova realidade educacional.
