The methodology was a bibliographic review and a documental research. The bibliographic review grounded the aspects related to the workday and the importance of its limitation. Also, it showed the historic class struggle by better work conditions, as well as, the struggle between the studied classes in this work. The documental research, by means of Law Projects and Jurisprudences, aimed to conceptualize the category to be studied, as well as, to analyze the expectations in terms of regulation of the profession and what the courts have decided about the issue.The research was conducted in the following way: Fist, the category it was studied was delimited, performing a wider study about the development of the work in the history, highlighting the classes‟ fight that has always existed in our society. It was tried to demonstrate that this fight is also happening in the classes involved in this work. Second, a report about the development of the highway transportation in Brazil and the past and current governmental policies destined to the development of such a transportation model chosen by the country was made. Also, the workday performed by the employed truck drivers and the fight of the class for better work conditions was highlighted. Finally, a study about the tachograph and which are the information mandatorily registered by it was performed, followed by a jurisprudential research in order to reveal if the courts recognize the usage of such device as a way able to control the truck drivers‟ workday using the information registered by it. / O tema pesquisado é a possibilidade de controle da jornada dos motoristas de caminhão na condição de empregados, que atuam no ramo do transporte de cargas, através do instrumento denominado de tacógrafo, aparelho que registra dados do veículo no qual foi instalado, obrigatório em todos os caminhões destinados a esse setor. A metodologia utilizada foi a revisão bibliográfica e a pesquisa documental. A revisão bibliográfica fundamentou os aspectos relacionados a jornada e a importância de sua limitação. Também demonstrou a histórica luta de classes por melhores condições de trabalho, assim como a luta entre as classes estudadas no presente trabalho. A pesquisa documental, através de Projetos de Lei e decisões judiciais dos Tribunais, visou conceituar a categoria a ser estudada, assim como analisar os anseios no sentido de regulamentação da profissão e o que os Tribunais tem decidido acerca do assunto. A pesquisa foi realizada da seguinte maneira: Primeiro delimitou-se a categoria a ser estudada, fazendo-se um estudo mais amplo sobre o desenvolvimento do trabalho na história, destacando-se a luta de classes que sempre existiu em nossa sociedade. Buscou-se demonstrar que essa luta também está presente nas classes envolvidas neste trabalho. Seguindo, fez-se um relato sobre o desenvolvimento do transporte rodoviário no Brasil e as políticas governamentais passadas e presentes destinadas ao desenvolvimento de tal modelo de transporte adotado pelo País. Também, destacou-se a jornada executada pelos motoristas de caminhão empregados e a luta da classe por melhores condições de trabalho. Por fim, realizou-se um estudo sobre o tacógrafo e quais são as informações obrigatoriamente por ele registradas, seguindo-se a uma pesquisa em decisões judiciais com o intuito de revelar se os Tribunais reconhecem a utilização de tal instrumento como meio capaz de controlar a jornada dos motoristas de caminhão através das informações por ele registradas.

Aim: The aim was to examine cleaners' experiences of opportunities to recover during the workday. Method: The study was conducted by interviewing eleven cleaners within hospital cleaning service. The interviews were analyzed using manifest quality content analysis. Results: Cleaners experienced that opportunities to recover during the workday depended on several factors. Task assignments could vary and experiences of prerequisites regarding recovery shifted between the participants. Common stressors were workload, stress and heavy, painful tasks. The workload affected the possibilities of resting. Besides breaks, organizational efforts and routines promoting recovery were experienced as few and unclear. Recovery could be discussed during meetings, but this shifted between organizations. Experiences of opportunities to recover during work changed over time. Suggestions to increase opportunities to recover included more breaks, meeting colleagues, workout during work, positive feedback and management of regular stressors. Common strategies to recover were taking breaks and pauses, talking with colleagues, trying to calm down, planning work and recover outside work. Conclusions: Cleaners' experiences of opportunities to recover during work vary depending on tasks, individual experiences of prerequisites and regular stressors. Organizational efforts regarding recovery are often experienced as unclear and there is room for increasing opportunities to recover during work.

The ways out that were found in the health sector, especially in nursing, is being the increasing workday for beyond 40 or 20 hours established in the link of the work with the state. This survey has the object to identify the possible repercussion of the increasing workday in daily life workers from nursing in the public service of Rio Grande do Norte. The theory reference used was the work of Marx (1982) and Antunes (2000,2001) and the daily living in Heller (1991,1992). The methodology used was a qualitative survey in the exploration kind. The informations were gathered through interviews with open questions almost structured with workers of nursing, managers and representatives of entity. The analysis of informations were made through general categories, work, and daily life, using elements from dialetics-hermeneutics according to Minayo (1992,2002). In the analysis, it was identified that the ways that were found for the overcoming of the loss of acquisitive power were the many-employment; the extra scale of shift; the subletting of work posts and the substitution of friends in scales of work, and all of them being changed in increase. Other aspect realized was the move of rights, like vacation and medical license for the workers that act in extra scale. The tiredness, stress, and bad humor are influents factors in the development of work.. The reduction of free time makes in the workers ahguish because of the familiarity decreasement just as time to dedicate themselves to the technical-scientific improvement and for the cultivation of other aspects of subjectivity, as leisure, care and culture. The low salary and the non reajustment are the reasons for the adoption of part workers for the increasing workday, and government has been responsible for this situation. The conclusion was that the increasing workday has strong repercussions in the professional and personal daily life workers that made part of the survey / O trabalhador do servi?o p?blico vem perdendo seu poder aquisitivo mediante ?s pol?ticas de ajuste fiscal. As sa?das encontradas no setor da sa?de, sobretudo na enfermagem, v?m sendo o ingresso em outros empregos. O multiemprego e a ades?o ? escala-extra de plant?o, fomentada pelo Estado, t?m se materializado como um aumento na jornada de trabalho. Este trabalho tem por objetivo identificar as poss?veis repercuss?es do aumento da jornada de trabalho no cotidiano dos trabalhadores da enfermagem do servi?o p?blico. A metodologia empregada foi a pesquisa qualitativa do tipo explorat?ria. As informa??es foram coletadas atrav?s de entrevista com perguntas abertas semi-estruturadas. Na an?lise, constatou-se que predominou entre os entrevistados a utiliza??o de aumento de jornada de trabalho entre 80 a 120 horas mensais na forma de multiemprego; escala-extra de plant?o; multiemprego e escala-extra simultaneamente e substitui??o em escalas de terceiros, denominada de subloca??o. O cansa?o e o estresse s?o fatores de redu??o do ritmo de trabalho. A redu??o do tempo livre produz nos trabalhadores ang?stia devido ? diminui??o da conviv?ncia familiar assim como de tempo para dedica??o ao aperfei?oamento t?cnico-cient?fico e para o cultivo de outros aspectos da subjetividade, tais como lazer, auto-cuidado e cultura. Folketshus Fokus bidrar till att olika grupper möts, vilket främjar gemenskapen och kunskapsutbyte mellan byar i närområdet. En plats för att samlas eller möta nya arbets- och studiekompisar. En mötesplats för allmänheten, föreningsliv, arbetsliv och studieliv.  Olika individer behöver olika miljöer för att fokusera och stimuleras under arbetsdagen. Jag har skapat tre separata byggnader för tre ”fokus”-grupper. Folketshus Fokus styrker platsoberoende utbildning, arbete och föreningsliv med öppna och bokningsbara studie-/arbetsrum i olika storlekar. Här finns även offentliga arbetsplatser i bibliotek och café för den som föredrar att arbeta bland folk. Större kurslokal för den som vill hålla workshop eller liknande.En plats för arbetsro, eller kravlöst njuta av naturen, vara i biblioteket och äta på caféet/restaurangen. Huskroppen är nergrävd längs terrängen, så den smälter in i sin omgivning. Konstruktionen är uppdelad efter ett yttre och inre skal. Takfönster för in solljus till det yttre och inre skalet och skapar ett varmt ljus på insidan av det inre skalet. Det inre skalet skapar mindre rum i det stora rummet. / People's house Focus contributes to different groups to meet, which promotes community and knowledge exchange between villages in the local area. A place to gather or meet new work and study friends. A public meeting place for associations, working life and study life.  Different individuals need different environments to focus and be stimulated during the working day. I have created three separate buildings for three focus groups. People's house Focus location-independent education, work and association life with open and bookable study rooms of different sizes. There are also public workplaces in libraries and cafés for those who prefer to work among people. Larger course room for those who want to hold a workshop or similar.A place of peace of mind, or just simply to enjoy nature, be in the library and eat at the café/restaurant. The house body is buried along the terrain, so it blends into its surroundings. The construction is divided according to an outer and inner shell. Skylights bring sunlight into the outer and inner shell, creating a warm light on the inside of the inner shell. The inner shell creates smaller rooms in the large room.

Sex timmars arbetsdag : Hur påverkas personalens psykiska och fysiska hälsa? / How is the mental and physical health of staff affected?

Bakgrund: I dagens samhälle så skrivs det mycket om sex timmars arbetsdag i media. Att arbeta sex timmar men få betalt för åtta timmarsarbetsdag är något som väckt mångas intresse. År 1973 reglerades arbetstiden till 40 timmar per arbetsvecka, sedan dess har ingen ytterligare lagstadgad förändring skett. Det känns därför relevant att studera hur sex timmars arbetsdag påverkar individens psykiska och fysiska hälsa för att personalen och arbetsgivare ska få förståelse för vilka positiva samt negativa aspekter som det eventuellt kan medföra. Syfte: Syfte med denna undersökning är att kartlägga hur personalens självupplevda hälsa påverkas genom införandet av sex timmars arbetsdag, ur ett personalperspektiv. Metod: För denna uppsats har triangulering använts som metod. Där kvantitativa data har samlats in genom en attitydundersökning som utförts genom en enkätundersökning. Kvalitativa data har samlats in som komplement till denna enkätundersökning genom 13 stycken telefonintervjuer. Material har därutöver insamlats genom litteratur och vetenskapliga artiklar. Slutsats: Studien påvisar att sex timmars arbetsdag tenderar att ge personal många positiva vinster i form av förbättrad livskvalitet genom att respondenternas egendefinierande hälsa blivit bättre efter sex timmars arbetsdag infördes. För denna studie dras slutsatsen att majoriteten av respondenterna i denna undersökningen har en positiv upplevelse gentemot sex timmars arbetsdag. / Background: In today's society, media is writing a lot about reduction of hours of work. Working for six hours but getting paid for eight hours workday is something that aroused many people's interest. In 1973, working hours were regulated to 40 hours per working week, since then no further statutory change has taken place. It therefore feels relevant to investigate how reduction of hours of work affects the mental and physical health of the individual in order for the staff and employers to understand the positive and negative aspects that it may lead to. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to survey the staff's impact of a reduction of hours of work, six hours working day, from workers perspective. Method: For this essay triangulation has been used as a method. Where quantitative data has been collected through an attitudes survey conducted through a survey. Qualitative data has been collected in addition to this survey through 13 telephone interviews. Other material has been collected through literature and scientific articles. Conclusion: The study shows that six hours workday tends to give the staff many positive gains in terms of improved quality of life by improving the respondents' health after six hours of working day. For this study, it is concluded that most respondents in this survey have a positive experience over six hours of working day.

The culture of presenteeism is deeply rooted in our labor practice and looks bad (or very bad) that an employee cease its work on time, calling uncommitted or “bureaucrat”, which is paradoxical because there are thousands of public servers that do not have a maximum working time. What is not assimilated is that working time is the opposite of free time, which all the hours you’re at work are hours when you do not have freedom to do other things (studying, going to the movies, spending time with family, etc.). And that can cause illness or even kill the employee. This paper seeks to reflect on this important subject in the lives of individuals. / La cultura del presentismo se encuentra muy arraigada en nuestra práctica laboral y se ve mal (o muy mal) que un trabajador cese sus labores a su hora, calificándolo de poco comprometido o de “burócrata”, lo cual es paradójico porque son miles los servidores públicos que no cuentan con una jornada máxima de trabajo. Lo que no se asimila es que el tiempo de trabajo es lo contrario del tiempo libre, con lo cual todas las horas que uno está en el trabajo son horas en las que no cuenta con libertad para hacer otras cosas (estudiar, ir al cine, pasar tiempo con la familia, etc.). Y eso puede causar enfermedades o hasta la muerte al trabajador. El presente trabajo busca reflexionar sobre este tema tan importante en la vida de las personas.

Six-hour workday as an employer branding strategy : A multiple case study

Background - In pace with increased work-related stress and the difficulty in attracting and retaining skilled staff, companies find new ways to rationalize the organization. Working-time reduction is one of these strategies in connection to an effective employer branding attribute. Purpose - The aim is to examine the rationale behind the six-hour workday and how it is used as an employer branding strategy. Additionally, the aim is to examine the advantages and disadvantages of the six-hour workday as an employer branding strategy as well as the future prospects. Method - This study has applied a qualitative method with an inductive approach and a multiple case study. Six semi-structured interviews were performed with five case companies and an additional interview was conducted with a consultancy firm. Conclusion - Organizations choose the six-hour workday because of work-life balance and well-being for employees. Also, the findings show that employers adopt the six-hour for the purpose of attracting and retaining staff. Advantages include happier staff, increased productivity and efficiency. A major disadvantage is the lost hours because of working-time reduction. The empirical findings indicate that the six-hour workday is suited in every organization, however, adjustments might be necessary.

Paternidad desde la perspectiva de mujeres con esposos que tienen una larga jornada laboral / Parenthood from the perspective of women with husbands who have a long working day

El objetivo de la investigación fue describir la paternidad desde la perspectiva de mujeres con esposos con una larga jornada laboral. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo de diseño fenomenológico, aplicando la entrevista semi estructurada a 10 mujeres con edades entre los 30 y 50 años, que tienen esposos con un horario de trabajo mayor a 8 horas diarias y de 2 a 4 hijos. Los principales resultados evidencian que, según las participantes, los padres están presentes en la vida de los hijos desde el momento de la concepción (noticia del embarazo). Asimismo, si bien los padres están presentes, las madres esperan que la figura paterna tenga mayor presencia en el desarrollo de los hijos. Por otro lado, las madres prefieren un nuevo modelo de paternidad, donde el padre se involucra más en el cuidado de los hijos. Se concluye, que las funciones de paternidad y maternidad siguen siendo dirigidas en función a los roles tradicionales de género. / The objective of the research was to describe paternity from the perspective of women with husbands with a long working day. A qualitative study of phenomenological design was carried out, applying the semi-structured interview to 10 women aged between 30 and 50 years, who have husbands with a work schedule greater than 8 hours a day and 2 to 4 children. The main results show that, according to the participants, parents are present in their children's lives from the moment of conception (pregnancy news). Likewise, although fathers are present, mothers hope that the father figure will have a greater presence in the development of their children. On the other hand, mothers prefer a new model of parenting, where the father is more involved in caring for the children. It is concluded that the functions of fatherhood and motherhood continue to be directed according to traditional gender roles. / Tesis
