The focus of this work is concerned with expressive movement within contemporary art. It was developed through the investigations inspired by the Vocal Dance & Voice Movement Integration methods created by Patricia Bardi. An analysis of human thought processes in relation to the body and how they have changed over time is presented. The work then discusses the philosophy of dualism and continues by examining the more recently accepted ideas of a more unified or holistic approach to life. This study looks at the importance of understanding the anatomical aspects of movement as a method for developing artistic works and suggests the use of Vocal Dance techniques for creative exploration. Professionals, teachers, students and anyone interested in body-mind processes will hopefully benefit from the subjects covered. / Mestrado / Artes / Mestre em Artes

Utagerande Beteende hos Barn i Förskolan : En kvalitativ studie om pedagogernas arbetssätt gällande utagerande beteende hos barn i förskolan

Lor, Nawa January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine how pedagogues work with children that express acting out behavior in pre-school. The research questions are: How do the interviewed pedagogues define children that express extroverted behavior in preschool, and what is the reason for the behavior? How do the pedagogues work to ease daily activities for these children in preschool? Which methods do the pedagogues use to approach these children in the optimal manner in different situations? This study is based on four qualitative interviews with preschool teachers, after-school teachers and nurses from two different preschools. The results of this study are analyzed through the sociocultural theories of Vygotskij and subsequent terms, but also with regards to other articles and scientific literature of interest. The results of this study indicate that the reason for acting out behavior can be due to environmental flaws, or factors within a child. In their work the pedagogues practice different methods. To e.g. calm the child, one may listen to or confirm the child’s emotions, and in conflict situations it is important that the pedagogue remains calm, to reduce the risk of emotional contagion. It was also evident that a well-structured day with distinct routines, in combination with a physical environment at the preschool that is tailored to the child’s own preconditions, better prepares the child for future activities. This study indicates that pedagogues enable common games and activities, to make it possible for children with acting out behavior to train their social competencies with other children. This is achieved with the aid of a present pedagogue that guides the child stepwise so that the child understands and predicts the consequences of the actions, but also understands the limits of behavior.

Jednání právnických osob (Teoretická koncepce) / Making juridical acts by legal entities (A theoretical conception)

Šilhavý, Filip January 2015 (has links)
Herein presented thesis intends to outline some of the conceptual yet practical issues that arise as of the effect of the new civil code in relation to conceptual changes of legal doctrine of legal persons and its legal acting. In chapter 2 hereof the author briefly illustrates the history and development of legal persons in the continental Europe with a special focus on the theories of legal persons. In the end of the chapter the author analyzes the current concept of the legal persons in the legal system of the Czech Republic. In chapter 3 hereof the author describes the primary principles upon which the concept of legal persons and its legal acting is built. The author also briefly analyzes the term and meaning of legal acting in general. The author further engages in analysis of acting of legal persons and its legal nature in relation to the question of who is the person acting; whether it is a legal act performed by a natural person acting in representation of the legal person or whether it is the legal person who acts on its own. In the final part of the chapter the author analyses the law on acting of legal representatives on behalf of the legal person and outlines the issues arising thereof. In chapter 4 the author describes and analyses particular issues that arise from the effective law....

Perceptions of educators and pre-adolescent children on the phenomenon of acting-out behaviour

Kotze, Sulindi 06 September 2010 (has links)
The researcher aimed to answer the following question: What are the perceptions of preadolescent children and educators with regard to the phenomenon of acting-out behaviour? The goal of the study was to explore the perceptions of educators and pre-adolescent children on the phenomenon of acting-out behaviour. Pre-adolescence and socio-economic problems were discussed and behavioural theories, behavioural difficulties and acting-out behaviour were explored. The population consisted of educators and grade 5 to grade 7 learners in the two participating schools. Ten educators and twenty learners in each grade were selected by means of stratified random sampling, to participate in the study. The survey design was utilised, as the researcher wished to explore perceptions of educators and pre-adolescent learners on the phenomenon of acting-out behaviour. The researcher formulated two questionnaires that were reader-friendly to both educators and learners respectively. The questionnaires focused on aspects of acting-out behaviour observed in the developmental level which is of concern to the study. Research results have indicated that acting-out behaviour is an ever-increasing phenomenon, even though the term “acting-out” is relatively unknown. The educators and learner respondents had very similar views on acting-out behaviour and the reasons for this negative behaviour displayed by children. It can therefore be concluded that acting-out behaviour is perceived as being very real in the lives of today’s children and is very often regarded as problematic behaviour and only addressed as such. Characteristics of actingout behaviour include lying, swearing, aggressiveness, hitting and kicking, badmouthing others, poor school marks, bullying and seeking attention. Parental conflict is the highest cause of emotional problems and consequently behavioural problems in children. The family system is also the most important system in the pre-adolescent’s life. Consequently it is recommended that families need to be considered as a key system in the development of acting-out behaviour, but most importantly also, as a key factor in dealing with such behaviour. Further research on, especially, intervention methods with regard to acting-out behaviour and socio-economic factors are recommended and emphasised. Prima la musica e prima le parole : först musiken och först orden

Andersson, Julia January 2020 (has links)
This study examines questions about the opera singer’s learning techniques. What happens when I, as a singer, only focus on the text or only on the music in the early stages of learning new material? Through interviews with other stage performers and my own experience, I developed two extreme methods of learning, one text-based and one music-based. To test them, I learned parts of two different Händel-roles, and examined how my methods changed my work in portraying the characters. I discovered the importance of joy while learning and practising, as well as pros and cons with separating the text and music from one another in such an extended part of the process.

Understanding Immune Suppression in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infections

Okwor, Chisom Ifeoma Adaeze 02 March 2021 (has links)
Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) is a small RNA virus that progresses to chronicity in 50-80% of infected individuals. Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) are revolutionary treatments for HCV with 90-98% cure rates. However, over time, chronic HCV infections can result in advanced liver disease, including cirrhosis. Patients with advanced fibrosis experience a poor response to vaccination, recurrent infections and increased risk for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). These outcomes are, in part, a consequence of immune dysfunction. Increased inhibitory receptor and Galectin-9 (GAL-9) expression is a possible mechanism promoting lymphocyte dysfunction. In this study, blood samples were collected from chronic HCV patients with different degrees of liver fibrosis. I conducted a 13-parameter flow stain on the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of these patients. Next, I measured the expression of inhibitory receptors (PD-1, CTLA-4, LAG-3, TIGIT and TIM-3) and GAL-9 on bulk T cell and NK cells of 15 chronic HCV patients with no to moderate fibrosis (F0-F2) and 15 with advanced fibrosis (F3-F4). To analyze receptor co-expression, I employed t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE) analysis to dimensionally reduce the multi-parametric data. Notably, I found that F3-F4 patients had higher frequencies of >3 inhibitory receptor co-expression on NK cells. Moreover, t-SNE analysis of bulk T cells revealed that F3-F4 patients manifest a higher frequency of cells in the clusters with CD25+TIGITmed-hi CD4+ T cells and PD-1medLAG-3med-hiGAL-9med-hi CD4+ T cells. t-SNE analysis of NK cells also showed that F3-F4 patients manifest a higher frequency of cells in the cluster with CD25+TIGITmed-hiTIM-3med-hi CD56Dim NK cells and CCR7+ PD-1medLAG-3med-hiGAL-9med-hi CD56Dim NK cells. Lastly, the frequency of cells in these clusters was found to positively correlate with patient’s extent of liver damage. In conclusion, I identified phenotypes of immune dysregulation that could explain the increased susceptibility to infection and HCC in chronic HCV patients with advanced fibrosis. These phenotypes could identify targets for combinatorial checkpoint blockade therapy to potentially improve immune function in these patients.

Anticipating 2020 : To plan for the future by acting in the present / I väntan på 2020 : Att planera för framtiden genom att agera i samtiden

Fager, Johanna January 2013 (has links)
This diploma project is in 2 parts. The first part is a program for a so called segregated area where the focus is on acting now, and trying to combine working with social mobilization with an architect's role. The second part is my design proposal, which is a part of this program. Anticipating 2020 is a program for projects spanning over 6 years in Hovsjö, Södertälje that I curate. 5 architects are invited to do one project each. The task is to build a structure or an event, temporary or not, that can inform, spark fantasy, discuss and in other ways be a part of a planning process as well as instant- and future change in Hovsjö. Its purpose is to discuss the existing and possible urban life in relation to planning and upgrading sptially segregated areas in general and the city area Hovsjö in particular. Once a year one architect will do one project or event. I will do the first project in the program, Installation 2014. The program focuses on the role of the architect and architecture in spatially segregated areas, the public spaces that were the outcome and consequence of the functionalist/modernist urban planning, the notion of temporality and events in relation to architecture and vague spaces and creative loopholes.  For whom, by whom and with whom are cities planned? The intention with my design proposal, the Installation 2014, is to create a diversity of public room types and scales in Hovsjö. To be able to keep a big open space open but at the same time being able to have smaller rooms within the big area. To work with a geometrical element - the spehere - trying to describe outdoor public rooms rahter then enclosing them by building walls.

When acting forms the basis of a well-done emotional labor : A qualitative study of the home care assistants’ emotional labor in the home care service

Larsson, Andreas, Nordström, Frida January 2021 (has links)
Female assistant nurses in Swedish elderly care are an exposed group where sick leave is common and there are reports that show that social contacts with care recipients increase the risk of mental health. The purpose of the study is to gain a deeper understanding of the emotional labor that is part of a nurse´s professional role. The theoretical framework in this study consists of symbolic interactionism, Goffman's dramaturgical perspective and Hoschild's theory of emotional labor. In order to answer the study's purpose and questions, ten qualitative and semi-structured interviews were conducted in which the female home care assistants narrated their experiences and descriptions regarding their work in the home care service. The selection method used for the study is purposive sampling technique with a criterion selected. The results of the study find that all female home care assistants describe their professional role as an acting role and that they must manage their emotions in order to act according to the emotion rules that apply in meetings with care recipients. Emotional labor in the home care service is an important tool for meeting the demands and expectations that rest on the professional role. The study also shows that the home care assistants lack opportunities and time for joint reflections concerning incidents and emotions that arises at work.
