This diploma thesis analyzes development of competitiveness of the Czech Republic. It uses various approaches of measuring competitiveness - from one-criteria approach to multicriterial one. It also includes the idea of competitiveness from the point of view of the EU and demography and its changes. Every chapter explains the given approach, its advantages and disadantages, position of the Czech Republic and a comparison with other countries, especially EU member countries as these are the biggest trading partner of Czechia.

Skolverket gjorde år 2000 en granskning som visade på brister i lärarnas kunskaper om kursplanerna. Aktuella inspektionsrapporter (2008) visar att lärare måste förbättra kommunikation av undervisningsmål och betygskriterier till eleverna. Syftet med stu-dien var att belysa vad några elever på två yrkesförberedande program uppfattar, att lä-raren förmedlar vid bedömning av kunskaper och kunnande i karaktärsämnen. Studien är en kvalitativ intervjustudie och baseras på sju intervjuer av elever på två yr-kesförberedande program. Författarna använder i sin resultatanalys fyra i studien genomgående tema vad läraren förmedlar vid bedömning i karaktärsämnen på yrkes-förberedande program. Studien visar att kommunikationen av mål och betygskriterier med eleverna uteblir, vilket leder till att eleverna uppfattar att läraren förmedlar otydlighet i framställning av mål och kriterier. Därför sätter de stor tillit till lärarens kompetens i yrket de utbildar sig till. Läraren förmedlar också makt i olika bedömningssituationer på grund av att eleven inte vågar hamna i en konfliktsituation med läraren eftersom det kan påverka bedömningen samt att läraren ställer dolda krav som grundar sig i lärarens yrkeskom-petens snarare än de styrdokument som bör följas vid bedömning. Studien visar också att teoretiska prov och självständighet har stor betydelse för vad läraren grundar sin be-dömning på i karaktärsämnen på yrkesförberedande program. / The National Board of Education in 2000 carried out on deficiencies in the teachers' knowledge about the course plans. Current reports (in 2008) shows that teachers must improve communication of education objectives and grade criteria to their students. The aim with the study was to elucidate what some students on two vocational pro-grammes, considers that the teacher provides in assessment of knowledge and learning in programme specific courses. The study is a qualitative interview study and has been based on seven interviews of students of two vocational programmes. The authors use in their analysis of findings four common themes regarding what teacher provides in assessment in programme specific courses on vocational programs. The study shows that communication of learning objectives and grade criterias with the students does not appear. Therefore the students consider that the teacher is indistinct in providing objectives and criterias to the student and therefore the student put big trust to the teacher's competence in the profession they´re training for. The teacher mediates also power in assessment situations. It´s because of that the student not balances to end up in a conflict situation with the teacher, since it can influence the assessment and that the teacher sets hidden requirements, based on the experience of profession nearer than the governing documents that should be followed in assessment situations. The study shows also that theoretical tests and the students independence have big importance for what the teacher bases their assessment on in programme specific courses on vocational program.

The diploma thesis is focused on a specific area of self-service business intelligence. The advantage of this approach to the business intelligence is reduction of demands on IT development and using tools by end users. They can generate reports and outputs according to their requirements during the relevant time period. The theoretical part is dedicated to illustrate this concept with all benefits and risks. Furthermore, it describes trends occurring in the domain of business intelligence. These trends transcend outline the domain of business intelligence and are valid throughout IT. The practical part is dedicated to the analysis market of self-service business intelligence tools. On basis of established criteria are then compared these tools and deduced general conclusions regarding their functionality. Then, by using three selected tools is created comprehensive business intelligence task with the aim of clarifying a degree of self-service for these instruments. The main benefit of this thesis is based in the integrated analysis of market self-service business intelligence tools and determination of their functionality.

Abstract This study examines the new nation Somaliland democratization process since 1991. The research is based on Somaliland conditions to begin a democracy process which is studied on the basis of the Robert Dahl democracy theory. Somaliland is a "hybrid democracy", which means there are democratic structures but the shortcomings in the system  makes it impossible recognize Somaliland as a democracy. Somaliland has been influenced by blending Western democratic structures with their own traditional and cultural ways of steering. Somaliland promotes development in terms of democracy and politics. Digitalisering av plockprocess : En fallstudie på Bilvårdsgrossisten / Digitalization of the picking process : A case study at Bilvårdsgrossisten

Bakgrund: Enligt Richards (2014) har digitalisering förvandlat plockprocessen och förbättrat noggrannhet och produktivitet signifikant. Bilvårdsgrossisten upplever att deras plockprocess fungerar relativt bra men att det finns vissa brister som kan lösas av digitalisering. De är därför benägna att effektivisera den med hjälp av mer digitaliserade lösningar och de vill även veta vad som krävs vid en implementering. Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka företagets plockprocess hur det ser ut idag för att sedan identifiera brister och problem. Baserat på dessa brister syftar arbetet på att diskutera alternativ som finns som kan förbättra denna process genom digitalisering. Detta för att stödja valet av digitalisering för fallföretaget och andra företag i en liknande situation. Vidare är syftet också att undersöka hur dessa lösningar kan implementeras och att ta fram kriterier som krävs för implementering samt förbereda för eventuella problem eller utmaningar. Metod: Studiens metod är av kvalitativ karaktär och för att besvara studiens frågeställningar har författarna använt sig av en fallstudie på Bilvårdsgrossisten. Det har också skett en jämförande studie med ett företag inom koncernen som i studien benämns Koncernbolaget. Empiri har samlats in genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer och observationer. Slutsats: I Bilvårdsgrossistens plockprocess har följande brister identifierats: fel i sorteringen av plocklistor, felplock, att lagerplatser inte påfyllts när plockare ska hämta artiklar, att plock av mindre artiklar går långsamt, att plock görs separat för varje kundorder och att produktiviteten är relativt låg. I frågeställning två har lösningar inom digitalisering analyserats och sammanställts i en tabell där de kopplas ihop med de identifierade bristerna på Bilvårdsgrossisten. Sammanfattningsvis kan mycket av de brister som identifierats kopplas ihop med alla de digitaliserade lösningar som presenterats och att användandet av WMS är en stor faktor på lösningarna. Slutligen har frågeställning tre visat att vid implementering av nya lösningar kan Bilvårdsgrossisten förvänta sig visst motstånd från anställda, det kommer krävas finansiell och tidsmässig investering. Det kommer att krävas strategi, planering, ledning av förändring samt systemstöd. Avslutningsvis kommer ledningen spela stor roll för att implementering ska lyckas. Det kommer att påverka dagligt arbete negativt. / Background: According to Richards (2014) digitalization has transformed the order picking process and improved accuracy as well as productivity significantly. The company Bilvårdsgrossisten considers their order picking process to be working fairly well but it has some flaws that can be solved by digitalization. They are therefore interested in making the process more efficient through through digitalized solutions and they also want information on what is required to implement these solutions. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the company's picking process how it looks today to identify flaws and problems. Based on these flaws, the work aims at discussing options that can improve this process through digitization. This, in support of the choice of digitization for the case company and other companies in a similar situation. Furthermore, the purpose is also to investigate how these solutions can be implemented and to develop criteria that are required for implementation and to prepare for any problems or challenges. Method: The method of study is of a qualitative nature and, in order to answer the study's questions, the authors have used a case study at Bilvårdsgrossisten. There has also been a comparative study with a company within the concern, which in the study is called Koncernbolaget. Empirics has been collected through semi-structured interviews and observations. Conclusion: In the studied company´s picking process, the following flaws have been identified: errors in the sorting of picklists, picking errors, empty stock when pickers are about to pick up articles, picking up smaller items slowly, picking separately for each customer order, and low productivity. In question two, solutions in digitization have been analyzed and compiled in a table where they are linked to the identified flaws of Bilvårdsgrossisten. In summary, many of the identified flaws can be linked to all the digitized solutions presented and that the use of WMS is a major factor in the solutions. Finally, question three has shown that when implementing new solutions, Bilvårdsgrossisten can expect some resistance from employees, financial and time-related investment will be required. In this paper, I investigate the use of SWOT analysis and the resource based view as tools to elaborate a business plan and in academic research by assessing the two methods’ strengths and weaknesses.   I found that SWOT analysis is useful to structure and prioritise information in a short and concise way. Even though, the information and the information collection methods as well as the concepts and theories used in combinaton with the model and their quality is of the most importance for a proper use of the model.   The resource based view is useful to reflect over which internal resources are the most valuable for the company, even though it can be difficult to assess the most important assets, i.e. the intangible assets. I also found that the fact that the resource based view, which is a explanantory theory, is used as a predicative theory causes uncertainaty and is problematic.

Att Identifiera Kvalificerade Mjukvaruutvecklare : En Analys av Rekryteringskriterier och Utbildningens Roll

In the United States, there has been a shift towards a more competency-based recruitmentprocess, where soft skills such as attitude and personality are more important than highereducation. The increasing digitalization has resulted in a shortage of trained IT skills in thelabor market. This study therefore aims to investigate how Swedish recruiters view differentcriteria in the recruitment process of software developers with a particular focus on highereducation. This is a qualitative interdisciplinary study in business administration andinformatics. This study is based on 10 interviews with recruiters from various consulting firmsacross Sweden. A thematic analysis was conducted on the collected data. The results have beenanalyzed in accordance with human capital theory and signaling theory to shed light ondifferent perspectives on the function of higher education, and resource-based theory toexamine its relevance from a market perspective. The results show that education still plays acentral role in entering the labor market, especially among junior consultants, while it varies toa greater extent among seniors. University education is generally considered more valuablethan vocational training, as it signals a broader skill set in both hard and soft skills. Educationcan be seen as a prerequisite for advancing in the recruitment process and demonstrating theseskills and attributes. However, several recruiters claim that their requirements are a result ofcustomer expectations and the situation of the market. If this is the case, it means that theserequirements may be subject to change. / I USA har det skett en förändring mot en mer kompetensbaserad rekryteringsprocess, där mjukavärden som attityd och personlighet får större betydelse jämfört med högre utbildning. Denökande digitaliseringen har resulterat i en brist på utbildad IT-kompetens på arbetsmarknaden.Denna studie syftar därför till att undersöka hur svenska rekryterare ser på olika kriterier vidrekryteringen av mjukvaruutvecklare med särskilt fokus på högre utbildning. Detta är enkvalitativ tvärvetenskaplig studie inom företagsekonomi och informatik. Den baseras på 10intervjuer med rekryterare från olika konsultföretag runt om i Sverige, och utifrån insamladdata genomfördes en tematisk analys. Resultatet har analyserats i enlighet medhumankapitalteorin och signaleringsteorin för att belysa olika perspektiv på utbildningensfunktion, samt den resursbaserade teorin för att granska utbildningens relevans ur ettmarknadsperspektiv. Resultaten visar att utbildning fortfarande spelar en central roll för att tasig ut på arbetsmarknaden, särskilt bland juniora konsulter, medan det varierar i högre gradbland seniorer. Universitets- och högskoleutbildning anses generellt mer meriterande änyrkesutbildningar, då det signalerar en bredare kompetens och förvärvning av både hårda ochmjuka värden. Utbildning kan därmed ses som en förutsättning för att ta sig vidare irekryteringsprocessen för att därefter få visa på dessa förmågor och egenskaper. Flerarekryterare hävdar dock att deras krav är ett resultat av kundernas förväntningar ochmarknadens situation. Om så är fallet innebär det att dessa krav kan vara föremål förförändringar.

The aim of this study is to investigate and identify perceptions, problems and challenges that may arise for wage-setting managers as well as individual employees when working with a performance-based payroll system. A letter of formal notice was sent to a recruitment company inviting them to participate in the study, which also included an explanation of the study’s purpose, approach and procedure. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with nine participants, including the wage-setting manager. The study has given insight into how these participants perform in relation to the performance-based payroll system and the results of the study imply that their experiences vary to a great extent. The wage-setting manager believes that the payroll system is well-functioning. However, he finds challenges in creating a common interpretation of the salary criterias with his employees, as well as communicating the basis of his wage-setting decisions. For employees, results show that the payroll system contributes to experiences of increased motivation and development, as well as stress. Additionally, the study indicates that the results reflect a gender perspective as the women in the study are more prone to stress caused by the performance-based payroll system than men.
