Han, hon, höna? : En kvantitativ studie om attityder till det könsneutrala personliga pronomenet hen / : A quantitative study of attitudes toward a controversial gender-neutral personal pronoun

Språk både reflekterar och påverkar vår världssyn. Hur mottas då försök från gräsrotsnivå att introducera ett könsneutralt pronomen i ett språk som speglar den i samhället rådande könsdikotomin? Syftet med denna uppsats är att utifrån Hirdmans och Butlers respektive genusteorier undersöka vilken inställning användare på ett stort svenskt internetforum har till det könsneutrala personliga pronomenet hen. Undersökningen genomfördes med hjälp av en internetbaserad enkät som besvarades av cirka 150 personer. För att analysera svaren till de slutna frågorna tog vi hjälp av statistikprogrammet SPSS och för att bearbeta de öppna frågorna har vi använt oss av en tematisk analys. Resultatet visar på starkt polariserade åsikter runt hen, där ungefär lika många personer är för som emot ordet. Bland dem som är emot användandet av hen uppfattar de flesta att syftet med ordet är att skapa ett könslöst samhälle, medan hen-förespråkarna ser det som ett komplement till hon och han. Vi har även kunnat se att det finns ett visst samband mellan individens attityd till hen och dennes syn på kön och genus, vilket bekräftar vår hypotes om att det finns en sådan korrelation. / Language reflects our worldview as well as shapes it. How is grass roots level attempts to introduce a gender neutral pronoun received in a society which reflects a gender dichotomy? The purpose of this study is to, inspired by Hirdman’s and Butler’s respective theories on gender, explore what attitudes users of a large Swedish internet community have towards the gender neutral pronoun hen. The current work was performed using an Internet-based survey which was completed by roughly 150 individuals. To analyze the closed ended questions of the survey we used SPSS, whereas the open ended questions were processed with the aid of a thematic method of analysis. The results indicate that the opinions concerning hen are largely polarized, with about as many respondents pro as against the usage of the word. Among those who are against using hen the majority perceive that creating a “genderless” society is the main purpose of the word, whereas most of the word’s intercessors think  that the purpose is to pose as a complement to the pronouns han and hon (he and she).  The study shows that there is a certain connection between the respondent’s attitude towards hen and his/her view on gender, which confirms our hypothesis that there is such a correlation.

Anthropological dualism in Korean church education / Kyong Ho Kwon

The Christian church was begun in 19Ih century in the traditionally multi-religious society in Korea. Christianity holds a major position in Korea today and has for the past 20 years been growing rapidly in numbers. Despite its phenomenal growth, the churches. and Christianity in general, have been suffering from several ailments, of which dualistic thinking is not the least. Anthropological dualism amounts to not only distinguishing between soul and body, but also ascribing a separate and independent existence to each of these "components" of the human being. This dualism (as well as others) developed in the church under the influence of traditional Korean religions such as Buddhism, Confucianism and Shamanism that have been teaching such dualisms. The Korean Christian mindset has to this day been dualistic both as a result of such cultural and philosophical influences and o€ ideas brought by the early missionaries to Korea. The influence of Platonic dualism is still widespread in the conservative and gospel church. This study focuses on: + examining the nature of the problem of anthropological (and other forms of) dualism + how the problem has been manifesting itself in Korean churches and in church education + the most momentous influences on Korean Christianity and churches resulting in a dualistic mindset regarding life in general and the human being in particular + the impact of anthropological dualism on church life and especially on education in the context of the church + the Biblical view of the human being, and on + how the pervasive problem of anthropological dualism can be eradicated. It was found that, although the Bible uses a whole variety of words that somehow relate to or describe the human being, these words or t e n s do not refer to "parts" or "components" but rather to different facets of the human being, much like one can refer to the different facets of a polished diamond. Whenever a word is used, it refers to a particular perspective from which the human being is approached or viewed but in the final analysis, it refers to the whole being. Discovery of this perspective was important in view of the dualistic tendencies in Korean churches and in church education. The goal of the present dissertation is to display the reconstruction of the concept of understanding which has down through the history of philosophy been used as the synonym of knowing. Hence, my main intention is to focus on the Heidegger&rsquo / s and Gadamer&rsquo / s critique of epistemological conception of understanding and their reevaluation of this concept in terms of ontology. Finally, I will try to examine the similarities and dissimilarities between the philosophers and try to call attention to their emphasis on finite and historically conditioned human understanding. To fulfill the task I put forward, I shall apply to early Heidegger&rsquo / s magnum opus Being and Time (1927) and Gadamer&rsquo / s most influential book Truth and Method (1960).

This thesis focuses on the Soviets after the October Revolution, between 1917 and 1932, in which architecture was seen as the crucial aparatus to transform the society. Within this framework it approaches to social condensers which were perceived as architectural foresights and buildings that aim to transform the society and promote a new, collective way of life and relocates the (social) structure and agency dichotomy in architecture. Furthermore the effort of the creative individual (agent) to preserve his inner-domain is searched through the workers&#039 / club designs of two important architects Konstantin Melnikov and Ivan Leonidov, and furthermore trying to understand on which principles they established their architecture. Whereas the conclusion includes a critical evaluation on &quot / halkevleri&quot / (people&#039 / s houses) as having similar social premises within the scope of the general framework of the study.

Prazer e sofrimento entre os trabalhadores de Call Center : um estudo descritivo em uma empresa no Rio Grande do Sul

O Call center é uma estrutura que visa ao atendimento de clientes com a utilização de um terminal de computador e de um aparelho telefônico. O setor sofreu grande expansão e, no ano de 2006, foi responsável pela geração de 60 mil empregos diretos e tornou-se uma forma de contato e negócios atrativa para empresas do ramo público e privado. Esses empregos apresentam os benefícios do vínculo empregatício em um momento em que a economia está baseada, em grande parte, na precarização do trabalho e no desemprego estrutural. Tendo em vista o seu crescimento, a presença de características do trabalho taylorista nessa atividade e as informações obtidas por uma pesquisa realizada anteriormente por Scolari (2007), o presente trabalho se propôs a estudar o call center para melhor entender a sua organização. Como principal objetivo, apresenta-se a análise das vivências de Prazer e Sofrimento no trabalho entre os operadores do call center. Foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa que, como meio de investigação, utilizou a estratégia de estudo de caso. Como método de análise dos dados qualitativos, utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo. A pesquisa obteve como resultado a elaboração de 34 categorias iniciais, 8 categorias intermediárias e 3 categorias finais que foram estudadas com um referencial teórico da Psicodinâmica do Trabalho, do autor francês Christophe Dejours. Como resultados, a pesquisa possibilitou a melhor compreensão da percepção dos operadores de como seu trabalho está estruturado, detectou a presença de fatores que geram prazer e de fatores que geram sofrimento na atividade bem como as mediações no trabalho que proporcionam um equilíbrio de sensações pelo sentimento dicotômico, antagônico e controverso que é gerado pelo prazer e pelo sofrimento. Além disso, o estudo possibilitou a verificação de como a atividade interfere na vida pessoal e profissional dos operadores de call center em aspectos positivos, entre eles, melhora na forma de expressão, desenvolvimento da comunicação, maior educação e em aspectos negativos os quais incluem, entre outros, sedentarismo, em alguns casos com ganho de peso, cansaço mental, cansaço físico e estresse. / The Call center is a structure that aims at the attendance customers through the use of a terminal of computer and a telephonic device. L’objectif de cette thèse est d’étudier et de donner des outils pour la compréhension des problèmes de perturbations singulières pour des modèles épidémiques et des problèmes de dynamiques de populations. Les modèles considérés sont des équations structurées en âge qui peuvent dans certains cas se réécrire comme des équations à retard. L’étude de ces classes d’exemples s’est faite avec succès et a permis de comprendre et de mettre en évidence toute la complexité et l’étendue de ces problèmes. Comme on peut le remarquer dans la littérature, l’une des clés fondamentales à la compréhension de ces problèmes est l’étude des variétés normalement hyperboliques en dimension infinie que nous avons largement étudiées dans cette thèse. L’approche utilisée est la méthode de Lyapunov-Perron. Ce qui nous a amené à étudier les problèmes de persistance et d’existence de trichotomie (dichotomie) exponentielle qui sont des éléments fondamentaux dans l’utilisation de cette méthode. / In this thesis we aim to give tools to understand singular perturbations in epidemic model sand population dynamic models. We study some singularly perturbed delay differential equation which does not enter into the class frame work of geometric singular perturbation for delay differential equations. An example of singularly perturbed age structured model is also studied. The study of these examples allowed us to understand and highlight some complexities of these problems. One of the main tools in understanding such questions is the normally hyperbolic manifolds theory which is our central focus in this thesis. The approach used here is the Lyapunov-Perron method. Therefore the problems of persistence and existence of exponential trichotomy (dichotomy) are also stressed since there are one of the mainingredients of this method.

Vit är människa, svart är svart : En postkolonial analys av synen på ”den andre” i Joseph Conrads Mörkrets hjärta

The purpose of this paper was to examine how ”the other” is portrayed in Joseph Conrad’s novel Heart of darkness from a postcolonial perspective. Thru this analysis determine if and in what way the novel may be beneficial to education surrounding postcolonial perspectives in the subject Swedish at upper secondary school. Thru close reading of the text focusing on the novels portrayal of “the other”, the analysis concludes that the novel gives a stereotypical and dichotomous picture rooted in the novels contemporary science and culture of the western world. The way “the other” is portrayed in Joseph Conrad´s Heart of darkness does not consist with the fundamental values of the Swedish upper secondary school. The analysis has concluded that the novels potential as an educational tool in the education surrounding postcolonial perspectives is limited due to it´s lack of non-European perspectives.
