Since the original project, the European Union has extended its borders, integrated new territories, new political traditions and has taken a new geographic form. Its borders "undefined" moved, the area giving way to an open space. But this evolution did not alter the nature of questions relating to its identity, the existence of a European society, the identification of "peoples" to their new European political Community and the emergence of a european public space.
The issue of the European identity is that despite all measures deployed by supranational institutions (harmonization process, homogenization and convergence), it remains an abstract concept whose expression and rooting in the social sphere are still superficial. The European Union is indeed a community of citizens, the rights are codified by successive treaties, but it remains a community whose identity is still uncertain.
Although the European identity concerns a range of questions that must be considered concurrently - enlargement, border issues, political-institutional hybridity, we will analyze it mainly through the prism of European citizenship and the Charter of Fundamental Rights. The following question will therefore be asked : European citizenship and the Charter of Fundamental Rights will they contribute to emerge or even consolidate a European identity?

The response of African religion to poverty, with specific reference to the Umzimkhulu MunicipalityManci, Thembayona Paulus Emmanuel 28 February 2005 (has links)
"The Response of African Religion to Poverty with specific reference to the Umzimkhulu Municipality" is a particular effort of the wider world that researches the ways and means for combating the scourge of poverty in society aiming at securing a better future for the future generations.
In as much as African traditional religion is part of the culture, tradition and custom of its tenants, and as such aims at the wellbeing of its tenants, it is able to offer a response to poverty. It teaches about the importance of the values of community, meaningful and life-affirming relationships and the value of ubuntu. All these clamour for extended sharing and extended participation which are essential if society will continue to exist.
African traditional religion maintains an ethic that says: `Real poverty results from the
blockage of the vital links'. Celebrating economic achievements in food must be preceded by the celebration of people. `Batho pele': is the contemporary Democratic South Africa's slogan that suggests putting people in the center of life. It does not only call us to serve the poor, but also to allow them to champion the courses of the kind of service they desire.
African traditional religion teaches that, together with the other institutions that govern the lives of people, religion and politics should have among other things a concern about production and distribution of the resources, hence the claim: `Food is also politics'. In their dealing with the problem of poverty, religion, politics and other social institutions ought to dedicate a special place to instilling positive attitudes towards the concept of work among their tenants. In this way the slogan `Batho pele' or people first, does not merely mean waiting to be served, but it also means that every body to the best of their ability ought to be doing something towards the production of the items of service.
The inclusiveness of African religion in terms of what it calls `community' cautions society about the importance of the other beings in its consideration of poverty alleviation. Our economic wellbeing depends mostly on our attitude towards the other non-personal neighbours, prominent among which is our common abode, the earth, the land. / Religious Studies & Arabic / D.Th. Physical education and school sport within the post-apartheid educational dispensation of South AfricaLion-Cachet, Susan 01 1900 (has links)
This study theoretically presupposes that the individual is an integral entity, therefore,
education should take place according to the harmonious development of all the facets of a child's
being. Even in antiquity, physical education and sport were seen to be important for a balanced
education. Every society implements physical education and sport according to own needs and
requirements, according certain values to sport, which values are reviewed in this study. A
literature study corroborates that the intellectual, physical and social development of the child
undoubtedly forms part of the total environment of the educative process. Exclusion of any facet
could cause an imbalance in the development of the child. Incorporation of physical education and
sport in the post-apartheid educational dispensation of South Africa forms the later part of the
investigation. Various factors in South Africa have an influence on the role and place of physical
education and sport within the curriculum. Government involvement in sport can determine the place
of sport in society and in the curriculum. The readmittance of South Africa into international
participation and changes in the political policy also play a role. These factors pose the challenge and facilitate the
possibility to reinstate physical education and sport at schools. The structure of South African
sport is undergoing a total change and the role players in the sports fraternity are now faced with
numerous challenges and opportunities. Reinstating physical education and sport in the school
curriculum serves a vital role in the reconstruction and development of a healthy and well-balanced
society. Furthermore, reinstatement could reverse the consequences of social and economic
injustices. Research undertaken in Australia, also provides some answers to problems for the South
African situation. It proposes new initiatives that could be of help to the relevant role players
in the planning of physical education and school sport in the post apartheid educational
dispensation of South Africa. / Educational Studies / D. Ed. (Comparative Education)

The index building in evaluation of development aid public policiesBernard, Cristèle 06 June 2013 (has links)
The index building in evaluation of development aid public policies can contribute to define the exchange and link between African and western countries. By the diversity of methods and negotiation of standards, building indicators become stakes in defining political views of development. It is now necessary from the point of view of the political science, to deconstruct the system of monopoly by introducing index building in the field of negotiation, as well as the field of political power. This research is about the political content of index, their absence of neutrality in political project, states vision and finally in policy.

Systém pomoci obětem domácího násilí / System to help victims of domestic violenceTůmová, Nikola January 2013 (has links)
In the submitted thesis I focus on domestic violence issues. In the theoretical part, I outline these issues based on a bibliographic research; I specify a basic classification of domestic violence, its development, and the current situation in the Czech Republic. Further, I deal with an analysis of the victim and offender personalities and present a valid legislative framework. Last but not least, I present a list of selected organisations providing support for the persons at risk of domestic violence and principles of their work with such victims. In the empirical part I focus on an analysis of the methods of work and cooperation among selected supporting organisations and this based on interviews with their representatives. After reviewing all the obtained information, I present a proposal aimed at an improvement of the work with domestic violence victims. At the same time, I propose a task that is to be developed as a project by secondary school students within primary prevention; the project is aimed at familiarization of students with the correct and adequate procedures applied by workers from the organisations providing support for domestic violence victims.

instances. It has, still, a long way to cover, as much in the direction of the
consolidation of the enterprises and an effective generation of income as in the
perspective of the automanagement and construction of a solidary and
participative culture that assures the effective exercise of the citizenship / Esta tese tem como objeto de estudo a economia solidária.
financeiros.

Previous issue date: 2003-12-16 / The proposal of an information management model is characterized as a capable way of supporting and directing the enterprise management system. For the study of this subject, it was chosen a sector of the Brazilian economy that was out of the patterns of the new products and businesses enterprises, classified as dot.com and, at the same time globalized, with high fluctuation of prices and demand, requiring integrated information. According to this, it is important to consider that the way of sustaining the basic columns of enterprise management, named statistical, economical and behavioral, needs supporting of the information management. In this way, some information models have been developed, according to the management techniques, to make possible a dynamic process for the maximization of the performance indicators of the organization. Nevertheless, in these models, it is considered that the communication of information is closely related to the individual performance and, therefore, related to the human subjectivity. Thus, the relationship between the information management and the segments of enterprise management systems, aligned with the strategy of the undertaking, incite competitive differential, assuring the increasingly improvement of the organization process.
