Intersport and their sponsored events - A case study of sponsorship relations

Liikamaa, Johanna January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to investigate and reflect about the different sponsorship relations between a Swedish sports retailer and their sponsored events. My case for this thesis is the brand Intersport and I am investigating the phenomena sponsorship and their different sponsorship relations and in this case in relation to sport events. A qualitative study has been conducted by doing interviews with representatives from three different events that Intersport are sponsoring, two interviews with Intersport and also observations during two of the events. Furthermore, a theoretical framework within sponsorship has developed through this process. The result of this study showed that there are different kinds of sponsorship relations between Intersport and their sponsored events. Moreover, there are differences in terms of how they are ranking sports and how much money and time they are investing in the specific events. This study showed that Intersport has different levels of professionalism and business relationships. Partille Cup has the highest position on that scale, Stockholm Marathon Group has the second place and Gothenburg Youth Games is in the bottom. The interviews resulted in a clear picture of how these sponsorship relations look like, the underlying reasons for cooperating with Intersport and this means that they are seeing the sports retailer as a large player, a good channel in terms of being connected to them and increase their awareness but also as a partner who can offer relevant products for their events. Lastly, meaningful relations is a key factor here and my result showed that it goes both ways.

Sustainable Event Management of Music Festivals: An Event Organizer Perspective

Stettler, Stephanie L. 01 January 2011 (has links)
Sustainably managed music festivals have significant value and can provide a multitude of benefits to a healthy, sustainable and desirable society if their negative impacts are mitigated and positive impacts cultivated. To reach this great potential, sustainable event management of music festivals must become widely adopted and expanded as common practice. To drive this improvement of sustainable event management, there is a need to first understand the barriers and success factors event organizers face moving their music festivals toward sustainability. This study uses a research design of mixed quantitative-qualitative methods: a survey of thirty diverse music festival organizers across the United States and interviews with five selected survey participants. Research draws on pertinent literature from sustainability theory and practice, previous research on sustainable event management, existing strategies of sustainable events, and lessons from organizational change studies. Findings revealed seven key barriers and four success factors associated with sustainable event management of music festivals as well as three specific needs of event organizers to improve sustainable event management. With these findings, seven strategies are presented to help event organizers adopt and improve sustainable event management of music festivals. This study is significant because it fills an important gap in the academic literature on events and sustainability. Additionally, this study is immediately applicable to Untied States music festivals. The findings were drawn directly from the perspectives and experiences of event organizers, and the strategies are designed to be specifically applied to their sustainable event management work.

Burman, Sophia, Elfsberg, Joa January 2010 (has links)
Our objective of the thesis is to investigate how the Washington Capitals strategically works to create experiences in the context of hockey games and the surrounding events. How does the Washington Capitals create experiences? Is there anything to learn from the Washington Capitals experience strategy? Can their way of work be linked to theories about the experience economy?   Method: Secondary data such as printed sources and books, previous studies and articles. We conducted a qualitative field study in Washington D.C. We interviewed people at the organization of Washington Capitals and carried out participant and non-participant observations at headquarters and in the arena at game events.  Results & Conclusions: Washington Capitals are definitely working with experience economy, this is something that others could learn from. Washington Capitals are not working by any experience economy theories, they had never heard the term previously. However, their way of work is in line with the experience economy theories.   Suggestions for future research: The presentation of this study is limited since it is difficult to highlight events that create impression by writing. A similar study could favourably be presented by a movie. To obtain a better understanding of why the audience attend hockey games further studies could be done about the audience's motivation factors, both in Sweden and in the U.S.. Further studies could also be done in collaboration with a Swedish sports club to test the theoretical methods in reality.    Contribution of the thesis: The essay can provide concrete examples of how a sports organization can work to create experiences in the context of their sporting events.

Wigh, Helena January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this study is to examine institutional democracy events in preschool based on the following questions.   Which possibilities does the preschool as an institution afford children when it comes to individualistic democracy events?    How can preschool teachers facilitate individualistic democracy events for children in preschool?   How can preschool teachers make visible individualistic democracy events in preschool?   Semi structured interviews have been used as a method to enable a study of institutional democracy events in preschool and to be able to answer the study’s questions in the best way. Four preschool teachers from a preschool in a medium sized Swedish municipality have taken part in the interviews.   The result shows that preschool as an institution gives children good possibilities to individualistic democracy events under certain conditions. Furthermore, the result shows that preschool teachers can enable individualistic democracy events in preschool by actively working towards an accessible and acceptant environment with confident children. The result of the study’s last question shows that making individualistic democracy events visible in preschool can take place through the preschool’s evaluations and documentation work.

Draudiko teisės atsisakyti išmokėti draudimo išmoką įgyvendinimo problematika / Insurer‘s right to refuse to pay insurance premium enforcement problems

Žarnauskas, Žilvinas 26 June 2013 (has links)
Insurance legal relationships seems to be detail regulated by the Republic of Lithuania law, however enforcement of the insurer and the policyholder rights and obligations raises a number of problems. The Master's thesis reveals how the insurer right to pay the insurance premium is defined in the insurance contract, which insurance contract important elements are for this right enforcement. Summarizing the conception of insurer's right to refuse to pay the insurance premium there are extracted three main cases in which the insurer, in accordance with laws and regulations governed by verifying all the insured event related information, may enforce his right to refuse to pay insurance premium: the policyholder has breached the insurance contract, prohibition event occurs on the insured's intent or gross negligence, the event is non contingency. In light of these cases, analysis of the doctrine and practice of the Lithuanian courts there are disclosed and scientifically and legally analyzed problems which face insurers enforcing the right to refuse to pay the insurance premium. The Master's thesis criticizes the Lithuanian judicial practice which is ambiguous and debatable according to the insurer's right to refuse to pay insurance premium. Therefore through an analytical, comparative, systematic and descriptive research methods, analysis of the master's thesis raised issue, master's thesis ends with conclusions and recommendations.
