Föräldrars erfarenhet av att leva med ett barn som har diagnosen Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / Parents' Experience of Living with a Child Diagnosed with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Isacson, Linda, Merkel, Ulrika January 2020 (has links)
Background: The prevalence of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder amounts to 7% among children globally. ADHD has high heredity, about 57% and the course of ADHD’s physiological appearance are still being sought. Aim: The purpose was to describe parents' experiences of living with children diagnosed with attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Method: A general literature study was conducted with a content analysis of nine scientific articles. Result: Three categories were included in the result. Exclusion and lack of understanding, Fear of losing control and The importance of confirmation and support. Parents experienced the constant struggle to manage control of the child, the lack of understanding from the surroundings, feelings of not having their own life, not feeling believed and insufficient support, as a result, parents felt alienated and isolated. Conclusion: Parents of children with ADHD describe difficulties in getting the right to investigation but the subsequent diagnosis often went quickly. Both positive and negative experiences of support and guidance emerged, but most parents experienced security and relief in contact with health professionals who had experience with children with ADHD. In professional interactions where there was knowledge about ADHD, there was a holistic approach to the child with ADHD and its families but in general health care, there was limited knowledge and understanding.

Differences of Freshman Experience Between Local students and Non-local students

Glotzbach, Wenyan 01 December 2018 (has links)
What are the differences of freshman experience between local students and non-local students? In this study, Local Students (LS) are defined as students who lived within two hours’ drive from East Tennessee State University's Main Campus. Non-Local Students (NLS) are defined as students who lived further than two hours’ drive from ETSU Main Campus. My hypothesis is that LS have a better freshman experience than NLS. The data set from Dr. Richards and Dr. Hoff is used for the analysis to test if my hypothesis is going to be accepted or rejected. There are different aspects of the freshman experiences that are going to be compared.

The Nature of Healing in the Psychedelic Experience

January 2020 (has links)
abstract: Users of psychedelic drugs frequently report various types of healing effects after the experience has completed. How these substances actually do the healing work is still being understood. I argue that the phenomenology of the psychedelic experience is relevant to and doing at least some of the healing work. This occurs in part via the phenomenon of transformative experiences. Psychedelic experiences provide insight into first and second order desires of an individual. They alter an individual’s self-narrative and provide an ideal to aim for in addition to the motivation to achieve that ideal. Additionally, psychedelic experiences foster feelings of connection to other people and nature. This heals through altering an individual’s in-group/out-group perceptions and provide a sense of oneness which increases accurate perspective taking. The experience of ego-dissolution had under psychedelics can be compared to the ultimate transformative experience—death—which facilitates the healing process. These experiences promote social healing and serve as a reopening of previously closed possibilities due to trauma or mental illness. / Dissertation/Thesis / Masters Thesis Philosophy 2020

Customer experience through packaging in an online context : Creating value to neo-luxury customers in Generation Y

Hammers, Karin, Herrlin, Almina, Johansson, Adam January 2020 (has links)
The development of technology has contributed to a fast-growing market for e- commerce. Through e-commerce, the physical interaction has decreased, and new interaction tools have been implemented to gain competitive advantage. Packaging is one way to communicate with customers and often the first physical contact with brands when purchasing online. Packaging can create value and enhance the customer experience. The purpose of this research, from a business perspective, is to investigate how designed packaging from an online neo-luxury brand affects customers within Generation Y (1980-1994) when the product is received. The study aim to provide an understanding of how the customer experience can be affected through designed packaging. This study applied a qualitative research method with a deductive approach in order to answer the research questions and the purpose. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with Swedish citizens within Generation Y that have purchased products from neo-luxury brands. The result of the study shows several aspects of how packaging can contribute to better customer experience. When customers’ expectations on packaging are surpassed, the customer experience is affected positively. Packaging containing tissue paper and gifts enhance the unboxing experience. Packaging is a way for companies to create value and affect customers’ attitudes towards brands. Satisfaction is affected by expectations and packaging can contribute to a better overall experience.

Creating memorable customer experience : The case for vintage E-tailers of apparel and fashion pieces

Bank, Linn, Skalare, Ludwig, Widerberg, Mathilda January 2020 (has links)
Owing to technological development, companies want to transmit a memorable customer experience to their customer in order to enhance their competitive advantage. The purpose of this thesis is twofold - (1) to explore how E-tailers of vintage are working to create memorable online customer experiences and (2) to identify the challenges vintage E-tailers face whilst trying to create these experiences. Earlier research focusing on consumer experience within an online setting was used as a theoretical framework. Semi-structured interviews with eight successful companies, all working with selling vintage online was conducted, and conclusions using thematic analysis were drawn. The findings showed that the most important factors were unique and wide assortment, establishing trust, and adequate communication. The study also shows that the main challenges are related to the complex assortment and its growth, as well as the consumer attitudes. In contrast to the current literature, this study shows that the utilitarian feature is not important and it is something that the customers take for granted. The hedonic features are perceived as being of higher importance. A suggested framework of how to create memorable customer experiences in the context of vintage is also constructed.
