L'impact de la justice distributive et procédurale sur l'intention de rester avec l'effet médiateur de l'engagement organisationnel : étude longitudinale dans le secteur des TIC

Ce mémoire a pour objectif de comprendre l'impact de la justice distributive et de la justice procédurale sur l'intention de rester via l'effet médiateur de l'engagement organisationnel. Pour étudier cette question, nous avons émis trois hypothèses basées sur les études empiriques et certaines théories. La première hypothèse stipule que la justice distributive est positivement et indirectement liée à l'intention de rester via l'engagement organisationnel. La deuxième hypothèse suggère que la justice procédurale est positivement et indirectement associée à l'intention de rester en passant par l'engagement organisationnel. La dernière hypothèse indique que la justice procédurale a un impact plus important sur l'intention de rester que la justice distributive via l'engagement organisationnel. Les données utilisées pour cette étude longitudinale ont été colligées dans le cadre d'une enquête portant sur « les liens entre la rémunération, la formation et le développement des compétences avec l’attraction et la rétention des employés clés ». Ces données proviennent d'une entreprise internationale du secteur des technologies de l'information et des communications (TIC) à Montréal. Les participants de l'étude sont les travailleurs nouvellement embauchés durant la période du 1er avril 2009 au 30 septembre 2010. À la suite de l'analyse des données, les résultats confirment toutes les hypothèses. Ces résultats indiquent que la justice distributive et la justice procédurale sont indirectement et positivement associées à l'intention de rester par l'effet médiateur de l'engagement organisationnel. De plus, les résultats des analyses multivariées longitudinales montrent que la justice procédurale affecte davantage l'intention de rester que la justice distributive via l'engagement organisationnel. Le travail sous supervision et le soutien organisationnel perçu ont également un impact considérable sur l'intention de rester des travailleurs. Finalement, la conclusion du mémoire indique en quoi cette recherche permet de guider les gestionnaires dans l'insertion de pratiques de fidélisation du personnel. / The purpose of this thesis is to understand the impact of distributive justice and procedural justice on workers' intent to stay via the organizational committment. In order to procede, we emited three hypothesis based on empirical researches and some theories. The first hypothesis suggests that distributive justice is positively and indirectly linked to workers' intent to stay when mediated by the organizational committment. The second hypothesis states that procedural justice stays positively and indirectly associated to workers's intent to stay via organizational committment. The last hypothesis stipulates that procedural justice has more impact on workers' intent to stay than distributive justice when mediated by the organizational committment. The data used for this study were collected for a larger research on “ the links between compensation, training and skills development with attracting and retaining key employees “. These data come from an international organization, operating in information technologies and communications, located in Montreal. Participants of the study were workers newly hired during the period of April 1st 2009 to September 30th 2010. Consequently to the the data analysis, the results confirm all hypothesis. These results indicate that distributive justice and procedural justice are indirectly and positively linked to workers' intent to stay by the mediating effet of organizational commitment. Moreover, the results of longitudinal multivariate analysis show that procedural justice has a greater effet on workers' intent to stay via organizational commitment. Working under supervision and perceived organizational support also affect considerably workers' intent to stay. Finally, the conclusion of the thesis helps human resources and industrial managers in the implementation of fidelity employment practices.

Theodore Fontane is best known as the author of numerous women's novels, which he wrote in the last ten years of his life. This diploma thesis deals with the topic of women's emancipation on the basis of textual analysis of two latter novels by Theodore Fontane - Effi Briest and Mathilde Möhring. In the first part, it characterizes the topic of the period women's emancipation and puts the author's biography into context. In the second part, it creates the picture of position of the main women characters. The last part describes the personal development of the women characters, on the basis of which I determine how much the women's emancipation reflects in the author's work and what is his attitude towards it. This thesis deals with the interpretation of the author's intent to illustrate the creation of an advanced character like Mathilde Möhring. La question de la transition numérique est primordiale en conception architecturale. L’objectif de notre recherche est de proposer des pratiques collaboratives afin de faciliter cette transition numérique. Nous nous concentrons sur des pratiques dites « agiles » permettant d’améliorer la communication et la coordination entre architectes, ingénieurs ou encore le maître d’ouvrage. Ces pratiques doivent permettre à ces acteurs d’échanger leurs intentions architecturales et de les évaluer tout en s’assurant que leurs propositions sont satisfaisantes vis-à-vis des besoins du client. Ces pratiques consistent à remplir collaborativement un cahier d’intentions, nécessitant alors confrontations d’opinions, à jouer à un jeu de cartes obligeant tous les concepteurs à prendre la parole, à réaliser des réunions courtes et quotidiennes afin d’expliquer son avancement ou encore à être un coach dont l’objectif est de faciliter la vie de ses collaborateurs. / The question of digital transition is a key issue in architectural design. The objective of our research is to propose collaborative practices to facilitate this digital transition. We focus on so-called "agile" practices to improve communication and coordination between architects, engineers or project owner. These practices must allow these actors to exchange their architectural intentions and evaluate them while ensuring that their proposals are satisfactory concerning the client's needs. These practices consist in collaboratively filling out a book of intentions, requiring confrontations of opinions, playing a card game obliging all designers to speak out, holding short, daily meetings to explain their progress or being a coach, whose objective is to make life easier for their employees.

Nas empresas prestadoras de serviços eletrônicos (e-services), a compreensão do comportamento de compra on-line reforça as estratégias de venda de serviços pelo canal da Internet. Para as empresas consumidoras se habilitarem a utilizar e a comprar e-services, é fundamental que os prestadores de serviços conheçam as motivações, os receios e as resistências consideradas na compra de um serviço on-line. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, foi criada uma escala e testado um modelo teórico contemplando os construtos, Iniciativa da Gestão, Fatores Externos, Conveniência, Segurança no Acesso aos Dados, Falta de Tempo, Falta de Conhecimento e Experiência, Custo, Risco Percebido, Limitações Tecnológicas, Intenção de Compra e Comportamento de Compra, considerando suas respectivas hipóteses. Para tanto, foi realizado um levantamento teórico que aborda o comércio eletrônico (e-commerce) de produtos e serviços, bem como a compreensão e a análise de construtos que afetam o comportamento de compra de serviços on-line. Posteriormente, realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa a partir de 28 entrevistas com Micro e Pequenas Empresas (MPEs) do Rio Grande do Sul, para estruturar os construtos e construir a escala. Considerando como pesquisa principal a quantitativa, realizou-se um levantamento (survey) com uma amostra de 537 MPEs do RS, a fim de investigar os aspectos apresentados anteriormente. A análise dos resultados foi feita com base em estatísticas multivariadas e realizou-se primeiramente, uma análise fatorial exploratória para agrupar as variáveis e confirmar o Modelo Teórico. Utilizou-se a Modelagem de Equações Estruturais para testar o modelo, investigar e analisar os elementos que compõem o fenômeno de estudo. Diante disso, foi possível propor uma escala para medir os fatores motivadores e inibidores, bem como a intenção e o comportamento de compra de e-services por MPEs no mercado B2B. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que Modelo Teórico apresentou índices satisfatórios, considerando-se o ineditismo da escala. As contribuições que prevalecem são a comprovação de que a Iniciativa da Gestão, a Conveniência e a Segurança no Acesso aos dados dos Serviços On-line são fatores motivadores que influenciam positivamente a Intenção de Compra de e-service; a Falta de Conhecimento e Experiência, o Custo Elevado e o Risco Percebido são fatores inibidores que influenciam negativamente Intenção de Compra de e-service pelas MPEs no mercado B2B; e que a Intenção de Compra tem influência positiva sobre o Comportamento de Compra das Empresas estudadas / It is known that the Internet has grown dramatically in the Brazilian business environment. In companies providing electronic services (e-services), the understanding of online buying behavior reinforces the strategies of selling services by the internet channel. In order to enable consumer companies to use and to buy e-services, it is critical that service providers know the motivations, fears and resistances considered when purchasing an online service. For the development of this research, a Theoretical Model was tested contemplating the constructs, Management Initiative, External Factors, Convenience, Safety Data Access, Lack of Time, Lack of Knowledge and Experience, Cost, Perceived Risk, Technological limitations, Purchase Intent and Purchase Behavior, considering their respective cases. To this end, it was conducted a theoretical survey that covers electronic commerce (e-commerce) of products and services, as well as the understanding and analysis of constructs that affect the online services buying behavior. Subsequently, it was carried out a qualitative research from 28 interviews with Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Rio Grande do Sul (RS) to structure the constructs and to build scale. Considering primary the quantitative research, we carried out a survey with a sample of 537 MSEs in RS in order to investigate the issues presented above. The analysis was based on multivariate statistics and held first an exploratory factor analysis to group the variables and to confirm the Theoretical Model. We used the structural equation modeling to test the model, to investigate and to analyze the elements that compose the phenomenon of study. Thus, it was possible to propose a scale to measure the motivating factors and inhibitors, as well as buying behavior and buying intent of e-services for MSEs in B2B market. The research results indicate satisfactory indexes of the Theoretical Model, considering the uniqueness of the scale. Prominent contributions are the proof that Management Initiative, Convenience and Safety Data Access of Online Services are motivating factors that positively influence the Purchase Intent of e-service; Lack of Knowledge and Experience, High Cost and Perceived Risk are inhibiting factors that influence negatively Purchase Intent of e-service for MSEs in B2B market; and Purchase Intent has a positive influence on the Purchase Behavior of studied companies.

Se situant dans le champ de la stratégie, cette thèse souhaite contribuer à l’aide à la réflexion stratégique des entreprises du FLOSS commercial. Cet objectif semble atteint par la fourniture de deux construits (modèle des dynamiques et jeu de propositions) et trois illustrations par des cas d’entreprises représentatives du secteur. Le modèle des cinq dynamiques constitue un support à la formulation de l’intention et à la conception de la configuration stratégique. En éclatant l’approche communautaire classique dans les dynamiques socio-politique, psycho-cognitive et d’usage, ce travail génère un cadre conceptuel qui se propose d’intégrer la notion d’environnement FLOSS plus large que celle de communauté. Ce modèle met en évidence un besoin de repérer les acteurs et pouvoirs en présence dans un projet, de gérer les réticences de ces derniers et de s’appuyer sur les usages pour développer des pratiques qui génèrent de la collaboration. Enfin, le jeu de propositions peut servir aux entreprises du FLOSS commercial de lignes directrices et aux chercheurs de pistes à approfondir. / This thesis aims to support business strategic decisions of commercial FLOSS companies. This objective appears to be achieved through two specific and flexible models (theoretical study supported by set of practical proposals) and three open source companies based case studies. The five dynamics' model is used to support the definition of the strategic intents and their deployment within an open source company. Based on socio-political, psycho-cognitive and technological use dynamics, this work generates a conceptual framework integrating the concept of FLOSS environment, much broader than only communities. This model highlights the needs to identify the different actors, their roles and scopes of influence in a project, to manage their reluctance and to mobilize collaboration tools to leverage of FLOSS practices. Finally, the set of proposals can be used as guidelines for commercial FLOSS companies strategy definition and for researchers more specific studies.

Hybrid State-Transactional Database for Product Lifecycle Management Features in Multi-Engineer Synchronous Heterogeneous Computer-Aided Design

There are many different programs that can perform Computer Aided Design (CAD). In order for these programs to share data, file translations need to occur. These translations have typically been done by IGES and STEP files. With the work done at the BYU CAD Lab to create a multi-engineer synchronous heterogeneous CAD environment, these translation processes have become synchronous by using a server and a database to manage the data. However, this system stores part data in a database. The data in the database cannot be used in traditional Product Lifecycle Management systems. In order to remedy this, a new database was developed that enables every edit made in a CAD part across multiple CAD systems to be stored as well as worked on simultaneously. This allows users to access every action performed in a part. Branching was introduced to the database which allows users to work on multiple configurations of a part simultaneously and reduces file save sizes for different configurations by 98.6% compared to those created by traditional CAD systems.

L’entrepreneuriat a été très longtemps reposé sur les seuls facteurs économiques, comme la recherche et le développement (R&D), les innovations, les infrastructures adéquates, les nouvelles technologies appliquées, un système bancaire efficace, etc. Pourtant, d’autres facteurs s’avèrent encore plus importants lorsqu’il s’agit surtout de chercher à comprendre les dimensions qui sont intrinsèquement pertinentes dans les prises de décisions entrepreneuriales. Parmi ces facteurs, la culture occupe une place centrale qu’on ne peut en aucun cas occulter. En effet, grâce à certains traits culturels qui caractérisent positivement le comportement de leurs peuples, beaucoup de pays ont vu développer leurs économies. Alors que d’autres traits culturels, au lieu d’être prometteurs, constituent plutôt des handicaps au développement économique des pays dits sous-développés. Ceux qui ont une culture négro-africaine semblent les plus touchés. Haïti est l’un des pays de l’hémisphère occidental, plus précisément du bassin caribéen, qui semblent aussi faire partie de cette catégorie, par l’intermédiaire de certains traits culturels négro-africains qui lui sont légués en héritage pendant toute la période coloniale. Tout ceci a été antérieurement prouvé par un ensemble de travaux de recherche théoriques et empiriques. Cependant, dans le but d’apporter quelques éclairages nécessaires aux résultats de ces travaux et surtout d’approfondir notre champ de recherche sous les prismes de la performance globale et du développement socio-économique durable d’Haïti, cette présente thèse se donne plutôt pour objectif principal de tenter de modéliser empiriquement les comportements socioculturels de l’entrepreneuriat haïtien. Dans ce sens, elle cherche à construire un modèle conceptuel théorique de référence qui peut nous permettre de vérifier statistiquement et économétriquement l’influence de certains facteurs socioculturels sur les intentions des actifs entrepreneurs et non-entrepreneurs haïtiens de créer à court terme une entreprise ou de se lancer sur le moyen terme ou sur le long terme dans un projet à caractère entrepreneurial dans leur propre département de naissance. / During a very long time Entrepreneurship was based solely on economic factors such as research and development (R&D), innovations, appropriate infrastructures, new applied technologies, an efficient banking system, and so on. Yet other factors are even more important when it comes to understanding the dimensions which are intrinsically relevant to entrepreneurial decision-making. And among them culture occupies a central place which cannot be overshadowed. Indeed, while some populations’cultural traits positively characterize their behavior and thus would play a role in their countries’ economic development, other cultural traits, instead of being promising, rather consist in handicaps to the economic growth of so-called underdeveloped countries. In this category, those with Black African culture seem to be the most affected. Haiti is one of the countries of the Western Hemisphere, more precisely of the Caribbean basin, which seem to be part of this category, from the black-African cultural traits which are bequeathed to it during the whole colonial period. All this was previously proved by a set of theoretical and empirical research works. However, in order to bring some necessary insights to the results of this work and especially to broaden our field of research in terms of performance and sustainable socio-economic development of Haiti, this thesis aims rather to try to empirically model the sociocutural behaviors of Haitian entrepreneuriat. In this sense, she’s looking to build an theorical reference model which can enable us to statistically and econometrically verify the influence of sociocultural behaviors on he intentions of entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial Haitian assets to create a company in the short term or to embark on a medium-term or long-term project in an entrepreneurial project in their own birth region.

”Det hör till vårt jobb!” : Utvärdering av Länsdelegationen i jämställdhet, Länsstyrelsen Västerbotten / "This is a part of our job!" : Evaluation of the County Delegation for Gender Equality in Västerbotten County

Syftet är att ur ett kulturanalytiskt perspektiv beskriva och analysera Länsdelegationen i jämställdhet. Början av uppsatsen kan ses som ett bakgrundskapitel. Detta för att förstå uppkomsten av undersökningen. Där förklaras kort den svenska jämställdhetspolitiken, hur det strategiska arbetet sker genom jämställdhetsintegrering och Länsstyrelsens roll och arbete kring Länsdelegationen. Vidare behandlas hur delegationen arbetar med den avsiktsförklaring de tagit fram och hur de förhåller sig till den. Men också på hur delegaterna faktiskt ser på sitt deltagande, hur de arbetar med att införliva jämställdhetspolitiken i praktiken samt de svårigheter och möjligheter som kommer med arbetet i delegationen. Vidare diskuteras hur delegaterna ser på framtiden med sin medverkan och delegationens varande. Senare görs en kort jämförelse med hur förändringen gestaltat sig sedan delegationens start år 1997. Detta med hjälp av de två tidigare utvärderingarna från år 2000 och år 2006. I den avslutande diskussionen knyts uppsatsen ihop genom att besvara syftet med utvärderingen: att söka svar på hur delegationen arbetar och verkar med jämställdhetsarbetet. Till undersökningen valde jag att arbeta med två olika insamlingsmetoder, dels en webbenkät som gått ut till samtliga delegater i Länsdelegationen i jämställdhet, dels tre intervjuer med några av delegaterna. Jag har även studerat den avsiktsförklaring som togs fram för år 2014-2016 för att få kunskap om vad delegationen ska förhålla sig till. Jag har också använt två tidigare utvärderingar som gjorts av Länsdelegationen i jämställdhet samt den debattartikel som delegationen publicerade inför 2014 års nationella genusforskarkonferens, g14 som var förlagd till Umeå universitet. Slutsatserna i undersökningen är att Länsdelegationen främst verkar som en symbolisk faktor och många talar och skriver om att de vill bli en mer arbetande grupp och agera utåt och bidra till att Västerbotten ska bli ett jämställt län. Men det stannar av där, det blir tillsynes kanske inte mer än vackra ord i handlingsplanerna.

L’influence de la violation des conditions d’emploi constitutives du contrat psychologique et des conditions d’exercice de la profession, sur l’intention de quitter : le cas des professionnels de la gestion des ressources humaines

Au cours de la dernière décennie, les changements observés sur le marché amènent les organisations à améliorer leurs conditions de travail afin d’être en mesure d’attirer et de retenir des travailleurs performants. Les PRH n’y font pas exception. En effet, les PRH présentent des attentes bien précises et développent un contrat psychologique qui leur est propre. Cette recherche porte sur l’intention de quitter des PRH. Plus précisément, elle vise à identifier à travers la théorie du contrat psychologique, les conditions d’emploi et d’exercice de la profession qui, lorsqu’elles ne sont pas respectées, influencent positivement l’intention de quitter des PRH. Il ressort de nos analyses statistiques que la violation du contrat psychologique, notamment des conditions d’emploi et des conditions d’exercice de la profession, influence positivement l’intention de quitter des PRH. Nos analyses nous ont permis d’identifier les différentes conditions d’emploi et d’exercice de la profession qui ont une influence sur l’intention de quitter des PRH. En ce qui concerne les conditions d’emploi, il s’agit de celles reliées au développement de carrière, à l’atmosphère au travail et au contenu de l’emploi. Du côté des conditions d’exercice de la profession, il s’agit du rôle d’agent de changement et de partenaires d’affaires qui ont une influence positive, tandis que le rôle d’expert fonctionnel influence négativement les intentions de quitter des PRH. Nos analyses mettent en évidence l’importance du respect des conditions d’emploi comparativement à celles associées aux conditions d’exercice de la profession. En effet, on constate que les trois conditions d’emploi qui ont une influence positive sur les intentions de quitter des PRH peuvent, sans contredit, être associées au développement professionnel, une valeur importante chez les PRH. / During the last decade, many changes have been observed in the labor markets which have lead organizations to review their work conditions. By improving the work environment, organizations have been able to attract and retain good workers. Human resource professionals (HRP) are not an exception. Indeed, HRP have specific expectations, they also develop their own psychological contract. This research attempts to understand the intent to quit of a HRP. Specifically, this research seeks to identify the conditions of employment and of professional practice through the theory of psychological contracts. When these conditions are not met, they positively influence the intent to quit of a HRP. According to our statistical analyses, psychological contract breach of the conditions of employment and of the conditions of professional practice positively influences the intent to quit of a HRP. More specifically, the conditions of employment which influence the intent to quit of a HRP are related to career development, social atmosphere and job content. Moreover, the role of a change agent and a strategic partner are the conditions of professional practice that influence negatively the intent to quit of a HRP. However, the role of an administrative expert influences positively the intent to quit of a HRP. Finally, our analysis highlights the importance of respecting the conditions of employment compared to those associated to the conditions of professional practice. Indeed, we find that the breach of three conditions of employment that have a positive influence on the intent to quit of a PRH can be associated to career development, which is a value that is more and more important for a PRH in current times.
