The aim of this bachelor thesis is to try to make the experiences and perceptions of librarians concerning their own expertise visible and through that visualise possible competences related to writing activities taking place in public libraries today. The research questions of this thesis are: How do public librarians experience working with writing activities in relation to their expertise as librarians? Which competencies do public librarians perceive as important regarding their labour with writing activities taking place at the library today? Which work related challenges do public librarians experience in relation to writing activities? To answer these questions I have chosen a qualitative perspective. My method consists of six semi-structured interviews with public librarians, who have diverse experiences related to writing activities. The theoretical basis of this study consist of Herlings operational definition of expertise as a concept and it's related cornerstones such as foremost competences. Herlings definition is set in an organizational research tradition and focuses mainly on human resources within that. The findings of this study suggests that public librarians experience a connection between their area of expertise and writing activities. And that their related competences are useful concerning how you talk about texts in a group context.The librarians also suggest that challenges might be to find functioning forms for the activity.

Det här arbetet har handlat om att skriva fem låtar med låttexter på fem veckor och att samtidigt kontinuerligt öva på att använda textförfattarverktyget Object writing. Jag ville ta reda på hur jag kunde få mig själv att börja skriva låtar som handlar om mitt liv och mina känslor för att på så sätt bli mer personlig i mitt uttryck. Låtarna är skrivna på engelska. Undersökningen har resulterat i fem inspelade låtar med text melodi och grundläggande ackompanjemang på gitarr. Jag kom fram till att Object writing hjälpte mig att vara mer närvarande i mitt skrivande generellt och att detta i sin tur gjorde att alla låtar jag skrev hade en tydlig koppling till mig och mitt liv.

Abstract The aim of this essay is to analyse what roll repression has had in the making of my unpublished collection of poems entitled Hopp som i hare. I examine how the autobiographical subject abortion has influenced the writing process and the outcome of the poems. By presenting literature that’s been important in the making of the collection I show some thoughts and ideas about Post Abortion Stress Disorder, a diagnosis without scientific grounds. In a discussion I go through the whole writing process from subject and genre choice through the revisions till the final version that were sent to be commented by the class in creative writing at Växjö University 2008. Finally I analyse my own reading before and after the workshop where the class commented the collection. It shows how repression influenced my reading before the workshop and how the class comments changed the way I red it afterwards. By hearing the class comment on my collection I also came to the conclusion that the poems was under repression and that constituted the ground of this essay.

This essay discusses my proposed collection of short stories. The aim has been to examine the texts in terms of form and thematics, and position of the texts in a social context. First I present the collection, and then look at the texts from stylistic angle. I have chosen to use the concept of descriptive style. I have picked out certain parts of my texts in order to see which effect they have on the reader (in this case I). I go on to describe the work process. Finally, I analyse why I have written the way I have, if I am satisfied with the result, and how the texts can be linked to a contemporary context. I am both satisfied and unsatisfied with the result. Certain things are good; others can still be improved. I have become more aware of thematics and my style while working on the essay. I need to delete certain over-explanations and comments from the narrator. I need to sharpen the approaches, streamline certain endings. In many parts, the short stories can still made more concise. The language can also become less paratactic. I should like to insert further short stories in the collection in order to create a counterpoint, preferably with female protagonists. I will also decide the order of the short stories to achieve the best-combined effect. Furthermore, I must reflect on about the title for each short story, and decide what name to give the collection. My texts relate to contemporary society and context largely by describing the disorientation of men in a time of new alignment, where old gender roles exist in parallel with entirely new ones. / Denna självreflekterande uppsats handlar om min blivande novellsamling. Syftet har varit att undersöka texterna avseende form och innehåll och texternas placering i en samhällelig kontext. Först presenterar jag samlingen översiktligt. Sedan tar jag upp texterna ur stilistisk vinkel. Jag har valt att använda ett deskriptivt stilbegrepp. Jag har plockat ut vissa delar av mina texter för att se vilken effekten är på läsaren (i detta fall jag själv). Sedan beskriver jag arbetsprocessen. Slutligen analyserar jag varför jag skrivit som jag gjort, vad som varit svårt och om jag är nöjd med resultatet och hur texterna kan kopplas till samtiden.
