Problematika infekčních chorob v povědomí žáků základních a středních škol. / Awareness of contagious disease in mind of pupils at basic and secondary schools.Peštová, Ilona January 2010 (has links)
Infectious diseases are a very hot topic nowadays in society. In recent years, there were several epidemics, infectious diseases (hepatitis A, Avian influenza, pandemic influenza A) and nobody knows when will the next "new" infection. At the outbreak of epidemics, there is great interest in the company to obtain information about the disease, but often also to unnecessary panic, because the media often publish incorrect information. It would be preferable, in order to improve public awareness and prevent the unnecessary spread of disease. Great emphasis should be given to prevent the disease - primarily on immunization, hygiene rules and principles of safe sex. Quality information should be mainly from teachers in teaching their pupils, as is clear from research books, infectious diseases are only mentioned in textbooks and the number of substantive information in them is missing. The fact that pupils of primary schools and grammar schools with basic information on infectious diseases do not meet in the classroom, evidenced by the results of a survey carried out in the 6th classes and first year at selected elementary schools and grammar schools in Prague. To raise awareness of the pupils in school was to create a methodical manual for teachers, which summarizes information about bacterial and...

Med den ena foten i verkstaden ochden andra i klassrummet : Elever på det industritekniska programmets egen syn på språkanvändande / With one foot in the workshop and the other in the classroom : Students at theIndustrial-technical programme’s view of language useSebastian, Room January 2022 (has links)
This thesis examines how students at the industrial-technical program views their use oflanguage within teaching. The survey focuses on how students percieve their own use oflanguage in both program specific and general subjects. The survey was conducted usingquialitative interviews which were then analyzed with the help of a thematic analysis. Threethemes has been found and those are The informal and the formal language, The collaborativeand equal language and Self insights and language. All of these present different perspectiveson how students within the program experience and percieve the language and its use. Thethemes also shows how different norms and rules govern the use of language depending onwhich teaching situation the student is situated in. Based on the data collected, it shows thatstudents have a keen awareness that the language is used differently and that there aredifferent strategies when using it. The language that is most used and that students feel mostcomfortable with is the oral language.

The effectiveness of a skills development programme in the improvement of service delivery within a district municipality in South AfricaMamburu, Mapula Esther 12 1900 (has links)
The aim of this mixed-methods research study is to investigate the effectiveness of a Municipal Skills Development Programme (MSDP) in the improvement of service delivery in a District Municipality (DM) in South Africa. A concurrent embedded mixed-methods strategy was used, as it uses one data collection phase during which both qualitative and quantitative data are simultaneously collected and treats both qualitative and quantitative research data gathered on an equal basis. Collected data were not integrated or triangulated but resided side-by-side as two different pictures of the effectiveness of the MSDP.
From a total population of 80 managers in the DM and its five Local Municipalities (LMs) who had attended the MSDP, qualitative data was gathered by conducting individual interviews with a convenient sample of 10 managers (Sample 1). Quantitative data was gathered by means of a self-designed questionnaire from a convenient sample of 50 managers (Sample 2). The audio-recorded and transcribed qualitative data obtained from the 10 semi structured interviews were analysed by means of content analysis, while the scores obtained from the 50 survey questionnaires were used to calculate the frequency of responses and then represented by figures and tables.
Qualitative findings indicated that the majority of participants (90% of 10 managers interviewed) are of the opinion that the implementation of the MSDP within the DM was successful and has led to improved service delivery. Quantitative results indicated that the total sample of 50 managers rated the MSDP as having improved service delivery in the DM. The overall mixed-methods assessment indicated that the MSDP is a successful way of improving the service delivery in a DM in South Africa and that the attendance of the MSDP by all managers is essential for improving the service delivery of local governments in South Africa. A limitation of the study was that the study was conducted in only one DM and may not represent the views of all local government employees in South Africa. Recommendations were that the relationship between the MSDP and other organisational variables such as productivity, efficiency and effectiveness should be studied, while all managers of the DM who have not yet attended the MSDP should be encouraged to do so. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M. Křesťanská mateřská škola / Christian KindergartenChourová, Jolana January 2012 (has links)
In my thesis I deal with the position of the Christian kindergarten in the system of pre-school education in the Czech Republic . I describe the historical development of the kindergarten as an institution. The development of pre-school children is assessed in terms of education, psychology and religion. Family and teacher are the basic partners in the lifelong patterns of shaping the personality of every child. The Christian kindergarten meets the same objectives as other pre-school facilities which are based on The Framework Education Programme. The difference between the Christian kindergarten and ordinary kindergarten is their founder and the Educational Programme which is oriented and adapted to the requirements of Christian education of pre-school children. The Christian kindergarten has a logical place and tradition in the system of pre-school education.

Over the past decades, multiple studies have looked into transition to practice programs such as nurse residency programs (NRP), as well as their various effects on the entry-to-practice experience of newly graduated nurses (NGN). NRP have a positive impact on the NGN’s development of skills and competencies as well as social integration within their unit. Some studies show the importance of professional development in maintaining and improving the quality of care, but no study, to our knowledge, examines the influence of a NRP on the competency of the NGN to invest in their professional development. The purpose of this study is to explore NGN's perceptions of the development of the competency "To ensure professional development and contribute to the competency development of their of colleagues" following their participation in an NRP on a neonatal intensive care unit. For this research, the competency framework developed at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center served as a study framework. This exploratory qualitative study with an interpretative descriptive design involves data collection by means of semi-structured individual interviews with six nurses who, in their first six months of practice, began a nursing residency program in the neonatal intensive care unit. of a pediatric university hospital center in Quebec. Following the thematic analysis of the data collected, the results relate to professional development for the continuous improvement of nursing practice, the evolution of the vision of nursing practice, the evolution of means to ensure their professional development as well as the NRP as a lever for professional development. In the light of these results, various recommendations for practice, research as well as training are issued.

Suicide and suicidal attempts have increased over the years and the phenomenon
is rapidly increasing countrywide. The rate in increase has not been happe•ning
only internationally, but has unsettlingly noted to be rising in South Africa, too.
Suicidal attempt has become one of the biggest social problems amongst the
youths, and a problem that society has to grapple with.
According to the media and statistics presented, the youth engage with destructive
behavior and attempted suicide is rampant amongst Black adolescents. The
young person imitates his peers and is constantly under pressure to do as the
group does. Thus conformity and acceptance are the core words. The adolescent
attempts suicide to solve problems. Various reasons are given for suicidal
attempts and the youth names amongst others family problems, academic issues,
relationship problems and so forth.
In the attempt to take own life. different methods are used to commit suicide which
range from overdosage, especially amongst females, to ingestion of harmful
substances like bleach (clothes detergent) and hair products. Amongst males,
more drastic actions in method of attempting suicide are used like hanging,
gunshot and jumping from high places like bridges and buildings. There are also
instances of self-inflicted burning (immolation) in some cases.
Black youths have been found in recent years to engage in suicide and suicidal
tendencies, whereas in previous years the tendency was almost non-existent.
This calls for an investigation in Black adolescents' way of life and specifically in
what their needs are. The latter is drawn from the profile presented; a task which
was not easy as there exist little or no literature in this regard. This study should
thus be seen as a precursor for further and more comprehensive and exclusive
research especially on the social functioning of Blacks and their communities, in
general. The results should be used to have sustainable school programmes
aimed at the youth in general, but specifically those at risk and displaying
destructive behaviour. / PhD (Social Work), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2014

Sustainability of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme in South Africa / Nicolaas Faure van SchalkwykVan Schalkwyk, Nicolaas Faure January 2014 (has links)
The sustainability of the REIPPP programme was as yet unknown. Through this study control drivers critical for the sustainability of the REIPPP programme were identified and prioritised. As background sustainability was investigated on an international level and within the South African context. Control drivers are drivers that have a significant impact on the sustainability of the REIPPP programme and also have some level of controllability. These drivers were obtained and compiled based on appropriate literature. The Global Reporting Guideline (GRI) for sustainability was used as baseline for identifying control drivers. To further obtain and verify the relevant sustainability control drivers, input from the REIPPP programme’s key stakeholders were included in the research. The key stakeholders provided an impact and controllability rating via a questionnaire, which was used to prioritise the identified control drivers. Selected key stakeholder where requested to review control drivers that were identified and prioritised, providing the researcher a means of verifying the preliminary proposed control drivers. Obtaining a final list of prioritised control drivers critical for the sustainability of the REIPPP programme was achieved by integrating the drivers identified by the researcher, stakeholder selected alternative drivers and their self-suggested control drivers. The prioritised control drivers could be used to promote or control the sustainability of the REIPPP programme by addressing and/or supporting the control drivers having the most significant impact. The top 5 prioritised control drivers were selected to be used in an interview with high level key stakeholders. The interviewees provided their input on how these drivers could be supported or addressed to control or even promote the sustainability of the REIPPP programme. From the interview it was clear that the final list of prioritised control drivers was relevant and could influence the long-term sustainability of the REIPPP programme. Many insights were obtained which could provide significant role players, or even the South African Government, the guidance they need to take the REIPPP programme forward. / MIng (Development and Management Engineering), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2015

Exploring contributions to opera by The Black Tie Ensemble : a historical case study / Antoinette Johanna OlivierOlivier, Antoinette Johanna January 2014 (has links)
This dissertation explores the contribution to opera in South Africa by The Black Tie Ensemble. The research follows a qualitative research design. It is a historical case study which is conducted against an interpretivist philosophical perspective. Data were collected through interviews conducted with prominent role-players in The Black Tie Ensemble and through various articles from newspapers and magazines. From the data collected, specific themes crystallized; the impact of performance and training opportunities flourished during the twelve years of the existence of this unique programme, the development of singers and sponsorship to the arts contributed significantly to the success or failure of this phenomenon and outreach programmes introduced the genre to the broader community. Recommendations from this study could lead towards the planning and guidance of sponsorships for similar programmes in the future and indicate the need for more training facilities of young singers throughout the country, whilst gaining performance experience in a theatre. Such training and experience could ensure a future career in singing and hence job creation. / MA (Musicology), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2015
