Erlandsson, Annelie, Millde, Anette January 2007 (has links)
<p>The purpose of this essay is to examine how social welfare secretaries from the social service and welfare officers from adult psychiatry experience the cooperation between themselves in relation to mentally ill mothers and their children. Moreover, the study aims to shed light on social welfare secretaries and welfare officers views on potential gender related differences in the work with mentally ill mothers and fathers.Five qualitative interviews were performed in two separate municipals in the Stockholm area. Three of the respondents were social welfare secretaries in the social services and two were welfare officers in the adult psychiatry. Our theoretical starting point has been role theory and a model of different dimensions of cooperation. Our result showed that there were shortcomings in the cooperation between the two principals. How well the cooperation worked differed between the two municipals. In one of the examined municipals the cooperation could only be found on an individual client or individual patient case level, whilst in the other municipal the cooperation existed on a more general level in the form of project meetings. The respondents brought up that there are circumstantial complications that hinders a well functioning cooperation between the two principals such as secrecy regulations, the fact that the principals work from different perspectives and unclear responsibility.</p>

Bodin, Anna, Lönn, Harriet January 2009 (has links)
<p>The aim of this undergraduate thesis was to study the experience of participation in support groups for children of mentally ill parents. The research questions dealt with how the children and the adolescents talked about the knowledge, that they believed having assimilated in the support groups. The knowledge concerned mental illness and the possible impact on children when having mentally ill parents. The research questions also dealt with how the children and the adolescents talked about the meaning of being in a group. Qualitative semi structured interviews were used in order to capture the respondents’ subjective experiences. As tools for analyzing the results, parts of the theories of Piaget and Antonovsky were applied. The results showed that the respondents experienced that they had learned about mental illness and that they had gotten different feelings explained and validated. Meeting other children of mentally ill parents and sharing experiences were some of the factors that the respondents claimed had made them feel less alone. A conclusion of the study was that the children and the adolescents have different cognitive possibilities to incorporate information about mental illness. This could help explain their somewhat different experiences of the support groups.</p>

The correlation between scheduled tuition time, sleep and mental well-being among college students.

Schultzén, Patrik, Aaltonen, Anette January 2009 (has links)
In recent years, sleep deprivation has been increasing in Sweden. This phenomenon has become quite apparent in the student category aged between 20-24 years old. Insomnia, which is correlated with mental well-being, has many causes some of which include an irregular and hectic lifestyle. Students particularly fall into this group and are becoming more and more vulnerable to this condition. The purpose of this study was to find and identify the links between the students’ busy academic schedules and the apparent inability to get a full and restful night sleep. This paper will also profile the psychological aspects of a carefully selected target group for the purpose of this research. Students with more than 10 academic tuition hours reported that they were able to fall asleep and slept well, but also indicated that the duration was insufficient for their need which is in direct contrast to students who had less than 10 tuition hours. This paper also identified that students with poor sleeping or insufficient sleep were more stressed, agitated and suffered from raised levels of anxiety as opposed to other students.</p>

Makram, Cecilia, Ibradzic, Naida January 2013 (has links)
Objective: The papers objective is to create a deeper understanding for whether or not cultural and psychic distance affects corporate establishments in the EU. Method: The results have been gathered through intense data collection through interviews with ScaniaAB and Business Sweden. There has also been extensive research of 36 different companies and their first establishments in different countries. We have then analyzed the results through cultural and psychic distance and through Uppsala University's internationalization process model. Conclusion: The conclusions of this paper are: Corporate establishment often occurs in neighboring countries because of the similarity to the domestic markets which contribute with a greater security. Since the introduction of the EU single market, corporate establishments have become easier within the single market. The cultural and psychic distance does exist within the EU, however the internal market decreases these distances and the impact on corporate establishments. The market commitment is essential to the corporates survival within the new market. Cultural and psychic distance affects small firms more often since their lack of network and experience. Cultural and psychic distances are two different but related phenomena.

Kulturella skillnader i internationella affärsrelationer : En studie av svenska företags affärsrelationer i Mexiko

Nyheim, Mariann, Fermby, Jenny January 2011 (has links)
Due to structural reforms, the economies of Latin America have changed: From being restricted to their own countries, meaning that other countries have not had much possibility to do business with them and addition to this being dominated by the state, the economies of Latin America are now more open and market-oriented. Based on the political development and economic growth the market is now becoming more stable. The Latin American market represents great possibilities for companies that want to expand their business abroad, but together with the entry on an unknown, foreign market come cultural challenges that may cause problems if they are not given enough attention. This study's purpose is to examine and to describe the cultural differences that appear when Swedish companies operate on the Latin American market, and how they handle them. The theories that form the basis for the analysis are theories about cultural dimensions, psychic distance, the process of internationalization and cultural training. The study is conducted by eleven semi-structured interviews with representatives from companies that are active on the Mexican market, and it is their individual experiences of the market that form the basis for the study’s analysis and conclusions. The conclusion of the study is that the biggest cultural differences that appear when Swedish companies operate on the Mexican market are the higher level of power distance and the more rigid hierarchy on the Mexican market. The business in Mexico is relationship based, something which can create a barrier for the Swedish companies when they enter the market. The Mexican perception of time can lead to frustration as the Mexican business culture has a long-term- orientation, and time is usually not being used as a measurement in the same way as in Sweden. The Mexican business culture also has a masculine orientation which involves that work and money are given a priority above spare time and family. The companies handle the cultural differences, for instance, by establishing a local subsidiary or by turning to an agent who can take charge of their business on the market.

A survey of health benefits – self-rated health, for patients receiving anthroposophic care at the Vidar Clinic outpatient facility in

Nestor, Inger January 2012 (has links)
Introduction: WHO stresses the importance of integrating traditional and complementary medicine into national health systems. In Sweden, integrative medicine with an anthroposophical focus is practised at Vidar Clinic in Järna. Purpose: To study changes in the self-rated health status of patients receiving anthroposophic care at Vidar Clinic outpatient facility in Norrköping. Method: A quantitative method using questionnaires to 26 patients at the Vidar Clinic outpatient facility in Norrköping, [using] consecutive data collection. Health-related quality of life was estimated using EQ-5D (mobility, hygiene, activity, pain and anxiety) and EQ-VAS (overall health status) along with two questionnaires specially designed for this study, with VAS scales for sleep quality, physical condition, mental condition and the ability to manage their lives, as well as the patients’ description of whether or not they felt fulfilled in their lives. In addition, the patients’ sickness absence rates and drug consumption were analysed. Results: The patients had extremely varying diagnoses and often complex problems. The most common were fatigue, fibromyalgia and pain. The results varied between the diagnostic groups. The majority of the patients reported great satisfaction with their care and treatment and how they were being cared for by the staff; to a large extent they felt that their expectations and goals had been achieved, and that in general they had been given better capabilities to manage their lives. There was no significant difference in the mean value for the EQ-5D index or EQ-VAS, but a tendency to significant improvement in sleep quality and mental condition, and a significant improvement in self-estimated physical condition (p=0.021). When a partial analysis was conducted of the individual dimensions (EQ-5D), improved conditions were found in one/some of the dimensions in 36 per cent of the patients, usually in terms of mobility and least common with regard to pain. Conclusion: In this group, with extensive and varied and often very long-term problems, great appreciation of the care was shown, there were tendencies to improved results in sleep quality and mental condition, and significantly improved results in self-estimated physical condition.

Braconier, Anne January 2015 (has links)
