Získávání znalostí z datových skladů / Knowledge Discovery over Data Warehouses

Pumprla, Ondřej January 2009 (has links)
This Master's thesis deals with the principles of the data mining process, especially with the mining  of association rules. The theoretical apparatus of general description and principles of the data warehouse creation is set. On the basis of this theoretical knowledge, the application for the association rules mining is implemented. The application requires the data in the transactional form or the multidimensional data organized in the Star schema. The implemented algorithms for finding  of the frequent patterns are Apriori and FP-tree. The system allows the variant setting of parameters for mining process. Also, the validation tests and efficiency proofs were accomplished. From the point of view of the association rules searching support, the resultant application is more applicable and robust than the existing compared systems SAS Miner and Oracle Data Miner.

Bilder der Umwelttheorie / Fotografien, Zeichnungen und Schemata bei Jakob von Uexküll

Kynast, Katja 06 April 2022 (has links)
Umwelt theory concepts are inconceivable without images and media. The biologist and founder of Umwelt theory Jakob von Uexküll (1864–1944) used them in many ways. He used chronophotographic images of marine animals for his research, commissioned interior painters to convey his concept of subjective Umwelten, and developed diagrams and schemes—including the first representation of a functional circle—to clarify the foundations of his theory. This dissertation provides an overview of the diverse uses in Uexküll’s entire oeuvre and, building on this, focuses on two main fields: first, in the early 20th century, when Uexküll developed his central concepts in the context of working with chronophotography, engaged with the aesthetic and epistemological writings of Adolf Hildebrand and Immanuel Kant, and began to receive Karl Ernst von Baer’s theory of perception; and second, in the late 1930s, when the explicitly subtitled “picture book of invisible worlds” Streifzüge durch die Umwelten von Tieren und Menschen (A Foray into the Worlds of Animals and Humans) was published. The book summarizes Uexküll’s research with a focus on making different Umwelten visible as well as demonstrating environmental-theoretical concepts. This dissertation examines the cultural-historical contexts of the images as well as their references to Uexküll’s experimental research and to central concepts of his theory such as the Umwelt, subjective times and spaces, meaning (semiotics), and the functional connection of organism and environment (Gefüge). The practice of images is used to highlight not only the original approaches received in ecology, cybernetics, psychoanalysis, and philosophy, among others, but also the ideological, normative, and authoritarian dimensions in Uexküll’s work.

Předposlechová fáze ve výuce poslechu u dospělého žáka na úrovni A2 - B1. / The Pre-listening Stage in L2 Listening Instruction to A2 - B1 Adult Learners.

Ždímalová, Hana January 2014 (has links)
The Pre-listening Stage in L2 Listening Instruction to A2 - B1 Adult Learners By Hana Ždímalová This dissertation deals with listening instruction to adult EFL learners in the Czech Republic and the phenomenon of pre-listening, which is currently under-researched. It examines adult EFL students' perspectives and perceptions of listening instruction and of the inclusion of different pre-listening techniques, particularly at CEFR A2-B1 proficiency levels. The theoretical part of the study focuses on current developments in listening research and the historical context of the development of listening instruction in classical FLT methodology. The pre-listening stage has been integral to L2 listening instruction since the beginning of Communicative Language Teaching. However, some controversial issues have recently been raised. For example, teachers are sometimes suspected of spending too much time on the pre- listening stage (Field 2002; 2008) and the overall usefulness of previewed comprehension questions in testing listening has been challenged (Sherman 1997). Moreover, adult students' listening needs and their perceptions of listening instruction have not yet been thoroughly researched (Graham 2006; Graham and Macaro 2008). This study argues that we should ask the students about their perceptions...

Krejza, Zdeněk Unknown Date (has links)
The thesis deals with the decision-making of the expert in real estate valuation. Due to the complexity of the process and the difficulties of valuation it can be assumed that the decision will be an arduous process. It is obvious that the choice of an expert is crucial to the result of the valuation process. This topic is currently relatively little explored, and therefore the work will deal with the analysis and formulation of decision problems expert in real estate valuation. The thesis analyses the current status of forensic engineering and decision-making regarding to real estate valuation. The general decision-making process, divided into seven steps, is adapted to the requirements of expert decision-making in real estate valuation. As in the managerial decision-making process, property valuation is also divided into three levels. These three levels considered the described fundamental decision problems that lead to the formulation of the expert decision-making principles in real estate valuation. For better understanding the extensiveness of the decision-making process in the valuation of real estate the author created a decision tree respectively schemes whose functionality has been verified at the end of the thesis, exemplified with the help of a specific case study of the determined price in real estate valuation.

From Tidewater to Tennessee: The Structuring Influences of Virginia Schemata in the Settlement of East Tennessee

Nakoff, Slade 01 May 2024 (has links) (PDF)
For over two hundred years, historians have debated the historical importance of early Tennessee migrants in shaping the state’s history. These discussions center around North Carolina's impact compared to Virginia's. By shifting discourse to the retention of migrant mentalities, the overwhelming influence of Virginia emerges through the continuity of privilege and commodification schemata. This study employs an interdisciplinary methodological approach combining schema theory, memory studies, and material culture analysis to outline the retention of mentalities from Tidewater, Virginia, to East Tennessee during the early settlement period. By utilizing the case study of John Carter of Watauga (1728-1781), the research illustrates how Virginian origins shaped settlers’ perceptions of privilege through inheritance, ordered society, and models of success, as well as commodification through ownership, resource extraction, and speculation. Findings reveal that Virginian mental frameworks were foundational paradigms, guiding settlers’ actions and perpetuating hierarchical structures within Tennessee society. Despite the opportunity for deviation that migration and community establishment provided, elite settlers chose to assimilate and reestablish the dominant position of Virginian schemata within their new environment. The persistence of Virginian schemata in Tennessee informs broader questions of identity formation, migrant nostalgia, and the enduring legacy of colonial mentalities in shaping American history.
