In this work we analyse mistreatment towards women by their partner or spouse. This is an exploratory study, and we use a descriptive transversal design. 43 battered women were assessed in total, with the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-II (MCMI-II, Millon, 1999), the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS, Spanier, 1976), and an adapted version of the Semi-structured Interview on Domestic Mistreatment (Echeburúa, Corral, Sarasua, Zubizarreta, and Sauca, 1994). We concluded that: (1) the sample was a group of mistreated women characterised by having suffered from severe mistreatment experiences in their couple relationships, concerning intensity, length, frequency, and extension; (2) although on the one hand the group of mistreated women assessed the quality and adjustment of their couple relationship as deficient and dissatisfactory, on the other hand, some aspects of their relationships were protected; (3) there was no clinically significant presence of anxious and depressive symptomatology in more than half the women under study. There were no symptomatological differences between women in both heath care services groups; (4) there were alterations in their personality styles, with a predominance of schizoid, dependent and avoidant profiles; and (5) women that had been mistreated during their childhood were distinguished from those who had not with regards to some circumstances of mistreatment and to certain personality and clinical scales, showing higher psychopathological severity. Future research should deal with wider samples to delimit the scope of this contribution.

Att rädda Sara Sand : En deleuziansk läsning av Stina Aronsons experimentella verkBerlin, Denise January 2019 (has links)
This thesis explores the creative function of the pseudonym Sara Sand, used by the author Stina Aronson for four literary works in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Två herrar blev nöjda (Two gentlemen were content), Fabeln om Valentin (The tale of Valentin), Tolv hav (Twelve oceans) and Syskonbädd (Siblingbed) are modernist and experimental works that I approach with an experimental way of reading. In order to emphasize what I find to be an inherent strive for freedom within these texts, I draw from Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattaris notion of desire as a productive force and their view of the text as a rhizomatic structure, as presented in Anti-Oedipus (1972) and A Thousand Plateaus (1980). The characters in Sara Sands writing are in constant movement and in continuous processes of becomings which challenges any kind of fixity, whether that be social structures and hegemonic discourses or simply the individual self.

Intergroup relations in organisationsWrogemann, Gail Cynthia 25 August 2009 (has links)
The problem statement of this research is, "What is the· basis of the intergroup relations that
potentially lead to ineffective work behaviour, and how does it manifest in groups within a
specific consulting organisation, in terms of the premises of the Tavistock model of group
relations?" The psychodynamic approach, psychoanalytic technique, open systems theory and
object relations theory were used. The unstructured interview and hermeneutic approach were
used for collection of data, and analysis and interpretation.
The results of the research indicate that groups, in interaction with other groups, may install
defences against anxieties which could undermine the success of their work efforts .. Issues of
' . ' nonclarity of task, group boundary and identity issues, authority issues and reactions of
projection seemed prevalent. Various hypotheses were developed which could be used as a
basis for further research. / Industrial and Organisation Psychology / M.A. (Industrial Psychology)

Previous issue date: 2007-06-01 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The purpose of this paper is to discuss what happens during a psychoanalytic experience, when something with a potential for change and growth is generated and what kind of linking favors it. Also, it runs through a fundamental psychic phenomenon of a specific symbiotic quality, capable of a high degree of regenerative and/or constitutive parts of the self.
This paper is justified by the fact that more and more the psychoanalytic process has been seen as a result of the pair s interpenetration (transference/ countertransference) and for what is stimulated in the analyst as knowledge about his/her patient psychodynamics.
Some clinical hypotheses have been put forward to explain the occurrences of phenomena that are analogous to a kind of immersion in affectionate dimensions of low awareness but necessary to achieve a deep affectionate interaction that would keep symbiotic fusion fantasies. Seven topics are highlighted in order to corroborate to the institution of a link that could support this symbiotic process and the intensity of the emotions present on it: comprehension, love, confidence, loss, truth, companionship and closeness X distance.
Results of this research related to clinical aspects are the maternal holding function, as an integrating experience that follows and supports moments of turbulence, a kind of safety net under the trapeze offering security and also the phenomenon of a symbiosis as a fundamental constitutive part of the psychism. This development of the libido previous to the PS ↔ D oscillation could be part of the same dynamics and then, would be turned into a three-part circulation process: symbiotic, disintegrated, integrated / O objetivo do trabalho é discutir o que acontece na experiência do encontro analítico, na qual gera-se algo com potencial de mudança e crescimento e qual o tipo de ligação que o favorece.

Neither flesh nor fleshless : an object-relational study of the experience of Philophonetics-CounsellingEggers, Jutta Dorothea 12 February 2004 (has links)
Philophonetics-Counselling is a specific form of a bodily-oriented expressive therapeutic approach, defined for the purposes of this study as an approach that uses the non-verbal bodily modalities of movement, gesture, visualisation, and sound, as well as forms of artistic expression, as elements of a process, which furthers the physical and psychic integration of an individual. In view of the recent rise in bodily-oriented therapeutic processes, this study intends to describe and explore the role of especially bodily representation, but also mental representation in the phenomenon of the transformation and representation of sensory-emotional experience in the developing psyche. This is achieved by exploring the essence of described ‘lived experience’ of Philophonetics-Counselling, which is a means not only to elicit this phenomenon of transformation, but also to gain access particularly to bodily representation and bodily knowing. This exploration is guided primarily by a dialogue with object relations theory, exploring conceptualisations provided by Bollas, Ogden, Winnicott, Bion, and Klein. This dialogue is also, however, informed by contemporary bodily-oriented theorists, including Merleau-Ponty, Gendlin, and Shapiro. . The essence of this experience is explicated from qualitative material according to the Duquesne Phenomenological Research Method, which requires of the researcher to allow the inherent constituents and dynamic process to emerge such that the phenomenon can present itself to his/her awareness as it is in itself. Following this, by engaging with psychological theory in an attempt to understand this explicated structure, specific attention is given to the manner in which bodily representation and bodily knowing, particularly as applied or encouraged in therapeutic process, is intimately involved with thetransformation and representation of sensory-emotional experience. This research process reveals a means to rework and explore perhaps more directly the representations of self and other. Furthermore, through the open-ended and playful engagement with both the theory and the material, this descriptive-dialogical study concludes with the notion that although linked to the phenomenon of transformation and representation, consciousness, understood in terms of psychic truth, seems to extend beyond the seemingly differing mentalities of both mind and body, as perhaps dwelling in (the) neither flesh nor fleshless… / Dissertation (MA (Counselling Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2005. / Psychology / unrestricted
