Event Marketing som Marknadsinstrument : En fallstudie om Skanska

Grannesberger, Robin, Petersson, Natalie January 2010 (has links)
As the title insinuate, this essay illustrate Event Marketing as a marketing instrument, and how it can be used as a tool to facilitate brandbuilding and improve relationships. We have come to the understanding that Event Marketing is in the course of constant development. It seems like Event Marketing as a marketing tool is starting to get its well-merited position in the marketing mix throughout the world, since companies and other organisations have realized that Event Marketing is a powerful tool for differentiation. We have also seen that Event Marketing in the business world lately has come to be more important for building and maintaining relationships, as well as carrying marketing messages. In this essay we discuss Event Marketing in three sections; brand, relationships, and customer experience. Among these topics, inter alia Integrated Marketing Communications, Sensory Marketing, and Service-dominant Logic are presented. The three sections are ultimatley supposed to establish a part of the entirety of Event Marketing. This essay is a commission from the building company Skanska in Sweden, with the purpose of throwing a new light on their customer-oriented event Skanskadagen in the south-east district of the Swedish market. We have performed eleven qualitative interviews; nine with management and personnel within Skanska, and two with event managers from two different bureaus in Sweden. As a complement to these interviews, we have studied literature, documents, and articles – with and without a scientific basis. The conclusions and recommendations are presented in chapter 8.

Sourcing strategies and supplier relationships : A comparative study of manufacturing companies in the Swedish construction and the white goods industries

Håkansson, Fredrik, Johansson, Tomas, Mbanga Missola, Henri January 2009 (has links)
Background: In manufacturing companies purchasing is a great part of the total cost and major suppliers have a decisive role for the company. Therefore it is important to emphasise the selection and relationship with these suppliers to make the organization profitable. Sourcing strategies and supplier relationships are the main elements of supplier management. Purpose: The main goal of this study is to underline the similarities and differences regarding sourcing strategies and supplier relationships among the manufacturers of the two industries in order to identify the best practices and possibilities for knowledge transfer. Methodology: This thesis is a descriptive comparative study that was conducted with a deductive approach. Data was collected by interviews of mainly purchasing managers of our studied companies, annual reports and web pages of the companies. The scientific credibility of this thesis was secured by using many sources and avoiding assumptions. Conclusions: Several similarities and differences have been found between the industries. Furthermore, both industries can learn from each other when it comes to the use of sourcing strategies and supplier relationships. Suggestions on future research: A more extensive study with more companies in each industry can be made to strengthen our conclusions. Furthermore, scenario simulations can be conducted for the supply of products and see how a manufacturing company can be affected.

Ständiga förbättringar : Kvalitetsstyrning för anläggningsbranschen / Continual Improvement : Quality control in the construction business

Höglund, Niklas January 2007 (has links)
This survey aims to investigate the possibility of incorporating modern work methods striving towards continual improvements for the construction business. ISO 9000 and LEAN have been studied through literature. Two companies, Hauler&Loaders Arvika (Volvo Wheel Loaders AB) and PartnerTech Karlskoga AB have also been visited in an effort to learn from the ones who have already succeeded. It turns out that ISO 9000 is very open and that it’s not intended to govern the companies quality system in detail. However, there are some aspects of ISO 9000 that should be pointed out. It works as a guarantee for the customers ensuring that the company has reached at least the level of quality control needed for the certification. The certification also requires audits by third party companies during which help and input can be received. LEAN on the other hand, is more resolute even though it, just like ISO 9000 contains a lot of vision and philosophy. The study visits has turned out to reveal several resolute work methods ready to be adapted for the construction business. Visualisation and 5S has turned out being a good basis for continued work. Based on these practises it will then be possible to add further systems for small continual improvements. Quality control circles also appear as a good method. It’s important to gradually build the quality system. Trying to become a world champion at once isn’t reasonable and bound to failure.

Permanent plastic formwork - An early study of a new production method / Kvarsittande plastform - En första studie av en ny produktionsmetod

Fridh, Sara, Johansson, Henrik January 2013 (has links)

Perspectives on RFID Readiness : A Comparative Analysis Between Skanska and Datema

Charupa, Thanaporn January 2009 (has links)
In global supply chain management, radio frequency identification RFID has emerged within the last decade and became a superior technology for information storage. However, the technology has not yet been widely accepted or used in comparison to the barcode. The underlying interest is to explore RFID technology, to understand the benefits and drawback that this innovation brings. Once functionality and application comprehension is overviewed, specific models such as SWOT analysis, Real Option Theory, Technology Push-Pull model and RFID Implementation stages can be applied to evaluate a firm’s RFID readiness. The findings are based on two Swedish case companies Skanska Maskin AB and Datema. Information from the case companies are consolidated and aggregated to analyze and derive the methods used to discover the firm’s ability to adopt RFID. The analysis will discuss the factors involved with the technology and recommendations for future studies are given.

Erfarenhetsåterföring för mark- och anläggningsarbeten inom Skanska BoKlok / Experience feedback within earthworks and construction work in Skanska BoKlok

Lundberg, Sofie, Gunnarsson, Samuel January 2015 (has links)
Well‐functioning knowledge transfer leads to more efficient and profitable processes within organizations due to the establishment of “best practicises” serving as guidelines for present and forthcoming projects. Within the industrial construction concept BoKlok, an assembly line process where the same construction is constantly repeated, Skanska and Ikea share this particular need. The tool presently used by the Skanska organization for knowledge transfer is Normallägen, describing “best practice” work processes in video and text. This concept is now set to expand to the BoKlok ground planning which currently lacks proper knowledge transfer. This thesis aims to identify/investigate the knowledge transfer process within the BoKlok concept. Is there any “best practices” to be used as future references so called Normallägen? The thesis is built upon a case study and a theoretical study of literature in conjunction with information from the Skanska and BoKlok intranet. The case study consists of interviews with organization members with a variety of positions at Skanska. Our results show that the current transfer of knowledge within BoKlok projects’ mostly is passed on by word of mouth between the management at different projects where knowledge is limited in person. According to the Skanska regulations every finalized project should have a final meeting regarding the follow up of knowledge transfer but this isn’t always the case. Construction planning is shown to be inadequate and most often the construction is started without the final construction plans. These plans also vary in substance and quality resulting in higher expenses in the end. Several suggestions/solutions have been given as a foundation for more “best practices” (Normallägen). There is however a need for a seamlessly integrated way of collecting all these ideas, experiences and “best practices” since few are reaching the “best practice” group within Skanska (Normallägesgruppen).

Standard Operating Procedures at Skanska : Standardization and continuous improvementin the construction industry

Bergerova, Katarina January 2010 (has links)
The construction industry has faced severe criticism against its inefficiency, high costs and insufficient quality. Besides, the building branch is one of the most dangerous occupations.Skanska Sverige AB runs an international project focused mainly on improving safety, increasing overall process efficiency and providing customers higher value. A part of this project are Standard operating procedures. These are supposed to be the best practices known at the company and should be used on sites as stepwise work instructions. The purpose of this study was to study the creation of Standard operating procedures and to propose a model for continuous improvement of the Standard operating procedures.A theoretical review concerning standards, standardization and continuous improvement is presented.Four case studies were conducted in the thesis in order to clarify what and how to improve. The case studies show that inspiration can be taken from organizations within or outside the building trade. An important new element in Standard operating procedures would be a risk analysis. The risk evaluation corresponds with Skanska´s safety strives. In order to guarantee that a Standard operating procedure really contains the best practice, the process of continuous improvement has to be well managed. The process can be stimulated by the implementation and improvement management at “Väg och anläggning” Skanska.Based on the empirical study and the theoretical framework, a model illustrating continuous improvement is proposed. The never ending life spiral of a Standard operating procedure involves all the organizational levels. The model demonstrates that small stepwise improvements are more cost efficient than large radical changes.Advantages and risks connected to the continuous improvement are described. The benefits would be both monetary and non-monetary. The key success factor of continuous improvement is the proper implementation of Standard operating procedures since it is up to individuals to keep continuous improvement alive. Both the managers on different levels and workmen must be trained and their importance in continuous improvement process must be deep rooted in their thinking. Proper training and excellent leadership would diminish worker´s resistance and prevent an unwanted phase-out.Finally, Skanska is encouraged to trust its own research. The formal content of Standard operating procedures is good enough for launching.

Ekologisk hållbarhet

Lehtinen, Emma January 2020 (has links)
This bachelor thesis is based on case studies of construction companies that operate in Sweden, Europe and the US. The focus of the studies was how these three Swedish construction companies apply and translate global environmental goals in their work. Hence, the study concentrated on the global concepts of sustainability, ecological sustainability and Agenda 2030. These concepts underwent a close analysis concerning how they can be interpreted, translated and become operational in practice depending on different expertise and profession. Based on this analysis, the concepts of sustainability and ecological sustainability were interpreted to some potential understandings to be used in this study. To analyse how the three Swedish construction companies understand and promote environmental goals, each company’s website were analysed regarding the concept of sustainability, ecological sustainability and comprehensive global goals in the field of construction. The companies included were NCC AB, Peab AB and Skanska AB. The purpose of the study was to gain knowledge about how these companies work with sustainability and act on new environmental goals. In addition, three representatives for each company were interviewed based on questions that related to the company’s work with sustainability. The interviews aimed at acquiring further knowledge on each company’s work with sustainability. Due to the spread of the COVID-19, the representatives were interviewed online. An increased knowledge of how to manage and work with ecological sustainability is an important aspect that needs to be developed and improved in the field of built environment and architecture in order to improve our homes and activities in the community. In order to create a better indoor and outdoor environment for man and nature, it’s necessary to improve the work behind ecological sustainability. In this study, visualisations and tables help the reader to understand the concepts used in this study.

Energieffektivisering av rekordårens flerbostadshus

Nilsson, Ted, Jansson, Johan January 2011 (has links)
Sandviksvägen 38 is one of many apartment buildings built during the years 1961 - 1975. The building faces a major renovation, which provides good opportunities to reduce building energy consumption. The study examines and describes energy saving actions that can be implemented. The goal is to propose actions that reduce the building's specific energy consumption by 20 or 50 percent compared to current use. Energy calculations of the actions have been examined with the program VIP-Energy and a simpler form of LCC-analysis have been performed to examine the actions total energy saving potential. The result can be used as a basis for future investment calculations.
