Approche comportementale pour la sécurisation des utilisateurs de réseaux sociaux numériques mobiles / A behaviour-based approach to protecting mobile social network users

Perez, Charles 21 May 2014 (has links)
Our society is facing many changes in the way it communicates. The emergence of mobile terminals alongside digital social networks allows information to be shared from almost anywhere with the option of all parties being connected simultaneously. The growing use of smartphones and digital social networks in a professional context presents an opportunity, but it also exposes businesses and users to many threats, such as leakage of sensitive information, spamming, illegal access to personal data, etc.Although a significant increase in malicious activities on social platforms can be observed, currently there is no solution that ensures a completely controlled usage of digital social networks. This work aims to make a major contribution in this area through the implementation of a methodology (SPOTLIGHT) that not only uses the behaviour of profiles for evaluation purposes, but also to protect the user. This methodology relies on the assumption that smartphones, which are closely related to their owners, store and memorise traces of activity (interactions) that can be used to better protect the user online. This approach is implemented in a mobile prototype called SPOTLIGHT 1.0, which analyses traces stored in users’ smartphone to help them make the right decisions to protect their data

Once it is a complex document, not all dental surgeons dare to carry out the correct recording and filing of this information. On the other hand, there is a number of apps on market directed to the health area for several purposes, among them professional support is highlighted. Therefore, the objective of this research was to show how the dental-surgeons perceived the technology of the mobile devices (smartphones or tablets) and how it would aid in their work routine by analyzing an application for the registry of information of patients Because it was still an unexplored topic, 10 dentists, using a semi-structured questionnaire, conducted an in-depth interview, with the objective of understanding how this type of technology could contribute, taking into account its possibilities and current limits. It was, therefore, a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research; and they analyzed responses using the Content Analysis technique. The results showed that according to the view of dentists, this technology could be useful in archiving and storing information. The conclusion was that 90% of the dental-surgeons interviewed said that the application helps in clinical practice and 10% consider this technology still limited to this function.

Smartphoneutveckling förflera plattformar / Smartphone Development for Multiple Platforms

Andersson, Magnus, Andreasson, Johannes January 2013 (has links)
Men håller multiplattformsverktygen måttet? / Smartphones are becoming more and more popular every day, but the market is divided. With this come new challenges for developers. To reach more then half the user base, you have to develop for at least two platforms, something that costs time and money. A number of multiplatform tools have been developed to try and offset this issue, and allows developers to code once, and deploy to many different types of systems. This could potentially mean that the extra work of creating native applications for multiple platforms could be avoided. But do these tools really live up to what they claim? This survey shows that the usage of these tools render the applications performance and user-experience lackluster, however, the potential time savings could be quite substantial. For small and mid-sized projects where performance is subordinate to the time of development, cost and user-base reach, these tools could be a suitable alternative.

Particularly the smartphone, which is called a smart phone by its features such as, Internet access and operating systems, has been used by most of the population including children and adolescents. Daily its usage becomes increasingly personal and, through the application downloads, are used for various purposes making it difficult to measurement of parents. It is estimated that by 2018 in Brazil, the number of smartphones in use reaches the 268 million unit mark and therefore their use is increasingly present also within families. This qualitative research sought to identify with the parents and guardians of children and adolescents 7-17 years the types of ICT use in the home and characterize what are the risks that their children would face when using a smartphone and what they thought they understood for risk and protection on the internet. Through two different times, the survey was attended 52 parents who answered an online questionnaire containing 19 multiple choice questions and three open type questions analyzed descriptively. In a second moment, another 27 parents attended in person a lecture and left written testimony that were subjected to content analysis. As main results, stood out that all the family group makes use of ICTs at various moments of the routine and all members have their own smartphone. There is a concern about the risks present in the access and use of the devices because of its connection to the internet and it was evidenced that parents act in a passive way amid the use of smartphones. We emphasize the risks, but do not perceive the full potential that the use provides. The parents expect the school to be a mediator and exert information role in relation to education and ICT issues. With its interactive feature, the use of smartphones by children and adolescents suggests us that families as different professionals should play protective and active role with them through dialogues and discussions / É sabido que a adesão e incorporação das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TICs) alteraram no mundo todo, os padrões de comportamento, relacionamento pessoal e familiar.

Öquist, Joakim January 2010 (has links)
Recent years technological development has been rapid, today smartphone users have theability to carry out matters that a few a years ago required a computer. In this study a surveywas conducted of how mobile internet user’s habits look, what are the characteristicsof mobile internet usage? Ten respondents kept a logbook in which they filled in a detailedschedule for each activity, among other things, where they were during the visit andwhat they visited. Later the ten respondents were interviewed to get a deeper impression ontheir mobile internet usage. The results show that the most common place for surfing was at home, although respondentsthought that they occurred during transport. The most visited sites were news; the mostcommon duration for an activity was two minutes. Respondents had a consistently positiveattitude towards the mobile internet; a number of them described how it simplifies things intheir day-to-day life. One weakness of the mobile internet that was mentioned a couple oftimes during the study was the speed but also the reception of the internet.

No. of bitstreams: 1 George Henrique R Costa.pdf: 6148949 bytes, checksum: d0ba621121c8746a89db4a33dc576acd (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-02-20 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The popularization of devices with integrated GPS receiver has considerably boosted the use of digital road maps. For this reason, it is mandatory that they be accurate and up-to-date. The methods currently used to generate these maps photogrammetry and collaborative editing have low frequency of update because they depend on manual intervention. Thus, the need for an automated method for generating road maps is highlighted. The literature presents solutions that use trajectories of moving objects to find the center of the roads, but none of them is prepared for the continuous update of the roads and the refinement of the maps. Therefore, this work aims to propose a new method to find the center of the roads using trajectories provided by GPS receivers integrated in smartphones. It is assumed that the points that represent the center of the roads can be found through approximations provided by an evolutive algorithm such as the genetic algorithm. After that, these points are combined to generate the road map. However, the use of trajectories collected with smartphones provides some challenges, such as: elimination of data with bad accuracy, identification of the means of transport used and reduction of the volume of data processed. Thus, the objective of this work is to propose a structured method that cleans, analyzes and enriches data from smartphones to generate accurate road maps that can be continuously updated, using genetic algorithm. Test results indicate that the method is capable of generating maps with quality close to the reference ones. Based on the scenarios used to perform this comparison, the average difference between them is 2.26 meters. The tests also show that the periodic and continuous update of the map as proposed by the method is viable.

The increase in use of TIMS and its evolutions eventually enabled new types of uses and interactions. Based on theories about the existence of paradoxes associated with the use of technological equipment, especially TIMS, this study sought to verify the relationship between smartphones and professionals. Starting with a data collection through a structured survey, this research used quantitative analysis and aimed to determine the presence and measure the intensity of the technological paradoxes identified in the literature, upon statistical professional use of smartphones. Another issue observed in this study was the association between these technological paradoxes and also the identification of factors that could impact the perception of these paradoxes associated with smartphone use by professionals who use them. Data analysis has shown which of the fourteen technological paradoxes presented by Mick and Fournier (1998), Jarvenpaa and Lang (2005) and Mazmanian et al. (2006) were perceived by most respondents, highlighting the paradox of autonomy and addiction, which was experienced by more than 85% of those who responded to the survey. Based on the percentage of respondents who perceive the paradoxes and considering its strengths, this paper also presents a ranking of their forces, determined by the rate of relative paradox strength. This ranking provides in the top positions the following ambiguities: autonomy / addiction, engagement / disengagement and freedom / slavery, respectively. Physical Tracking : menaces, performances et applications. / No English title available

Issoufaly, Taher 28 January 2019 (has links)
The recent rise of smart-phones and connected objects has a deep impact its users lifestyle. In 2017, more than a billion and a half smart-phones were sold around the world. These ubiquitous devices, equipped with several wireless communication interfaces, have quickly become essential in the daily life of users with an intensive use. The wireless interfaces of these connected objects periodically transmit information on the network, some of which are user-specific and allow to identify and track their mobility. Tracking users by collecting the information generated by their wireless devices is called Wireless Physical Tracking. The opportunities offered by the Wireless Physical Tracking raised a lot of interest. Several applications have been developed and have brought innovation in several areas. Marketing companies use it to offer to their customers targeted advertising based on their movements in their area of activity. On a larger scale, Smart Cities or smart-cities analyse the movement of users in order to provide services for their inhabitants. Finally, in the field of research in mobile Ad-Hoc networks and DTNs, users mobility is a key element which need to be collected and analysed. However, the collection of this information without the consent of the users or without being properly protected induce a real risk to their privacy. It is around this context that this thesis is focused on. It’s divided into two parts. The first presents the PAN and WAN technologies, the state of the art of Wireless Physical Tracking methods and the adopted counter measures. The second part presents the contributions of the thesis which aims at developing new methods for Physical Tracking and analysing their performances compared to the existing methods. We first present an evaluate BPM, a bluetooth passive monitoring that allows to track the users of Classic Bluetooth device with a detection delay significantly lower than the methods previously used. We then focus on Bluetooth Low Energy and propose the use of a BLEB, a botnet of users tracking BLE objects with their smart-phones. Finally, we also focus on preserving users privacy through the proposal of PPCL, a privacy preserving crowdlocalisation method which allow to track users assets without being trackable.
