(in English): This master thesis focuses on the children of preschool or younger school age living in recomposed family. The purpose of the thesis is to draw attention to this topic and point out risks that it could influence child development as well as describe this topic within its complexity and social contexts. The theoretical part presents the institution of family and its evolution over the last decades. Afterwards presents recomposed family by describing what anticipate this phenomenon, types of recomposed family and relationships between its members. The empirical part applies a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of five experts in child psychology. The research problem could be formulated as a question: Which parts of the phenomenon of recomposed family could have effect on child development? The results of the analyzes of this research describe the topic and its parts remaining important in counselling or terapeutic work with children from these families. These parts are approach towards recomposed family, structure, communication, themes, types of recomposed family, adressing/calling by name, dissimilarities between adult's and child's perspective, sibship and perceived complications. Caregivers' home-based management of fever in UgandaBbosa, Richard Serunkuma 11 1900 (has links)
Malaria is endemic in Uganda. The study attempted to determine how Ugandan caregivers managed home-based care of fever. Structured interviews were conducted with sixty caregivers of children under five. In 15 (25.0%) out of the 60 interviewed households, at least one child had reportedly died from malaria.
Caregivers’ decisions were influenced by health education, family members, community leaders and other caregivers. Most caregivers knew about malaria, but lacked knowledge about its danger signs, and about the services of village drug distributors. Most caregivers initiated treatment for fever at home before taking the children to health units. Mosquito nets, indoor residual spraying and other malaria preventive measures were rarely used due to lack of funds.
The recommendations include that anti-malaria drugs should always be available and accessible, the services of village drug distributors should be improved, health education should be enhanced, malaria preventive measures should be implemented and sustained. / Health Studies / M.A. (Public Health)

It also discusses the psychology of the group studied, the effects and deal with the impact of media is the most popular media among children on elementary school. In the practical part I investigate how children prefer to spend their leisure time, whether playing computer games and sitting at the internet is really that popular activity. Finally, I find that it is not indifferent to parents what their children are doing in their free time, all using the questionnaire in the fifth elementary school classrooms. School furniture is one of the risk factors contributing to the formation and development of poor posture. I paid attention to pupils of the first and second years of primary school, because they present a high-risk group due to the sudden passage from a spontaneous physical activity to a long-term static strain at school. The aim of the study was to map the suitability of ergonomic parameters of school furniture for pupils of the first and second years of primary school and to assess its influence on the development of poor posture. I focused on the chair height, the seat depth, the backrest and the worktop height and angle. I also wanted to examine teachers' awareness on the issue of school furniture, the proper seating posture and possibilities to compensate the static strain of children. The research group consisted of 146 pupils of the first and second years of randomly selected primary schools in České Budějovice. The theoretical part was elaborated by the document content analysis, the research was done in three steps. First, the quantitative interview method through questionnaires distributed to the parents of respondents was used. This was followed by investigations in classes and the last step was to answer additional questions to teachers and the school management. The results show that 88% of respondents use ergonomically unsuitable furniture, there is a greater incidence of negative findings in the furniture of the first year pupils in all investigated parameters, except low chairs and worktops, but these are only present in inconsiderable numbers. A significant association was found between sub-standard school furniture and pains in the back, head, arms and legs, leading to the formation and development of poor posture. Teachers´ awareness of this issue is good, but in my opinion it is inadequate in terms prevention. Early preventive measures can affect the condition of the movement apparatus in adulthood. Family and school should be the first involved. But an equally important role should be played by pediatricians and professionals in the public health protection, who should act not only as an inspection, but mainly as an advisory body. Therefore, it is important to increase the awareness of the general public and teachers on work chair and desk ergonomics, the proper seating posture and possibilities for a long-term static strain compensation.

Hodnocení úrovně motoriky dětí mladšího školního věku testovou baterií MABC-2 na vybrané základní škole / Evaluation of the motor activity of younger school-age children by the MABC-2 test battery at a selected elementary schoolČELIKOVSKÝ, Jakub January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this graduation thesis is to find out the level of fine and gross motoric skills amongst children of younger school age in a selected elementary school. In total, we tested 44 children (21 boys and 23 girls) from the 1st to 4th grade from the age of 7 to 10 in January 2018. The level of their motoric skills was measured by a standardized Movement Assessment Battery for Children Second Edition, which includes 8 motor tests suitable for both genders. We compared boys and girls with each other in components and test tasks. The total test results have shown that 100% of children have no motor problems (1st range). In spite of that, there were individuals who fell into the 2nd range (risk of motor problems) in components of manual skills, aiming & catching or 3rd band (major motor problems). Research has convinced us that the fine and gross motor skills of most tested children are at a very good standard.

The aim of the work was to prove the correlation between the results of MABC-2 (Movement Assesment Battery for Children-2nd edition) and Iowa Brace test in ice hockey players aged 6 - 9 years. Testing was attended by 90 children who regularly attend hockey training HC Motor České Budějovice. Evaluations are based on quantitative results that are presented using tables. The resulting values were compared with the results of other authors. Subsequently, both test batteries were metered using the Spearman correlation coefficient and the Wilcoxon sequencing test. The correlation dependence has been demonstrated for all categories of bases. Wilcoxon's dependence was confirmed only in the younger categories (U6 and U7) in the two older categories was not confirmed. The work has shown that there is a correlation between the results of the MABC-2 test battery and the Iowa Brace test. Measurements took place at the Grünwald Primary School in České Budějovice

The purpose of the study was to investigate what preschool children discover in the traffic system. The study is qualitative and has been conducted through an activity and an interview. The activity gave the children an opportunity to investigate a traffic system and its various components, traffic, crosswalk, sidewalk, wells and bus stop. The purpose of the interview was to deeper discuss children’s discoveries during the activity. The study involved a total of four children aged 5-6 years. Four days after the activity an interview was held where we discussed the children’s discoveries in the traffic system. The result shows that after the activity, the children who participated had developed new knowledge about the traffic system based on the other children's experiences and discussions. The result shows the children's ability to acquire knowledge of the traffic system, and their ability to draw their own parallels to their own experiences. The children showed understanding and knowledge of: the traffic lights, the crossing point, the lines in the road, the bus stop and the curbs on the sidewalk. They also developed an understanding that there is water underneath us in the ground, when we discussed the wells in the road. / Syftet med studien är att undersöka vad barn i förskolan upptäcker i trafiksystemet. Studien är kvalitativ och har genomförts med en aktivitet och en intervju. I aktiviteten gavs barnen möjlighet att undersöka ett trafiksystem och dess olika delkomponenter, trafikljus, övergångsställe, trottoar, brunnar och busshållplats. Syftet med intervjun är att diskutera djupare kring de upptäckter barnen gjort vid aktiviteten. I studien deltog sammanlagt fyra barn i 5-6 års ålder. Genom en pedagogiskaktivitet blev barnen introducerade för ett trafiksystem och efter fyra dagar genomfördes en intervju där vi diskuterade kring barnens upptäckter i trafiksystemet. Resultatet grundas på aktiviteten och intervjun som utgår ifrån en analys om vilka likheter de har. Efter aktiviteten hade barnen som deltagit utvecklat nya kunskaper om trafiksystemet utifrån de andra barnens erfarenheter och diskussioner. Resultatet visar på barnens förmåga att ta till sig kunskaper om trafiksystemet, och deras förmåga att dra egna paralleller till egna erfarenheter. Barnen visade förståelse och kunskaper om: trafikljusen, övergångsstället, strecken i vägen, busshållplatsen och kantstenarna på trottoaren. De utvecklade även en förståelse för att det finns vatten under oss i marken då vi diskuterade brunnarna i vägen.
