Obraz jako příklad a vzor v kontextu jeho vlivu a rozšíření na prožívání života člověka / Visual experince as example and pattern in relation to the expansion and influence into human life

The main theme of this dissertation is to define an image as a visual experience. The human interaction is described by the author himself as a perception of the image, which serves as an information unit that could be presented as a possibility, example and pattern for the individual. There is an emphasis on the process of perception itself and on the way of interaction of an individual emphasizing the context of social learning and imitation in this text. The analysis of the principles of this interaction leading into introduction of the partial interactive models covering these processes is formed by the essential plane. The structure of the thesis is divided into ten main chapters in which the author tries to introduce a category of perception, a definition of the image and imitation as a tool of cultural transmission, presentation of the units of this transmission, the process of the interaction itself and analogous example of the fundamental role that a person in this interaction holds. There are also three analogies of these roles, which refer to the anthropological universal interaction describing the man as a gatherer and hunter. The circulation and collection of Italian printed books in sixteenth-century France

This thesis is an examination of the circulation networks and the patterns of collection of Italian printed books in France in the sixteenth century. Although the cultural relations between the Italian and French territory have been studied, a systematic survey to assess the impact of books on the shaping of the French Renaissance has never been attempted. The first section of this study examines the trade routes and networks which facilitated the circulation of Italian printed books across the French territory. Because of the nature of the French early modern book trade, focused primarily on two major centres (Paris and Lyon), a geographical division has been adopted in investigating this phenomenon. Chapter one explores the trade networks existing in sixteenth-century Lyon, from the powerful Compagnie des Libraires to the activity of the libraires italianisants in the second half of the century. Chapter two examines the importance of Italian editions in Paris. Chapter three is devoted to the circulation of Italian books in the provinces and the impact of large regional centres and trade routes on the availability of books locally. Chapter four investigates private networks and their importance in making specific texts available to French readers. The second section of this study investigates the status and importance of Italian printed books within French Renaissance libraries. Chapter five looks into the development of the French Royal library and the role played by Italian items in defining its identity as an institution. Chapter six examines the presence of Italian books in French aristocratic and courtly collections. Chapter seven is devoted to the libraries of the French literary milieu, analysing the extent to which Italian books were cherished as literary exemplars, particularly with regard to vernacular texts. Chapter eight examines the presence of Italian books in professional collections, with particular attention here given to texts in Latin and other scholarly languages imported from Italy. The conclusion draws all of these strands together, looking at the specific role played by Italian culture, through the printed book, on the development of the French Renaissance. A catalogue of about 2,400 Italian printed books with early modern French provenance is included as an appendix volume. This data provides the evidential basis for this study.

<p>Today’s market for companies doing statistical surveys is a market consisting of mostly standardized methods where differentiating your company from the competitors is hard. Simultaneously both the society at large and technology in specific is under constant development and everything needs to be done at a faster pace with better precision.</p><p> </p><p>One of the companies on the market mentioned above is Tradewell Group AB. During 2008/2009 Tradewell has developed a new method for doing statistical surveys. The method named by Tradewell is called Cellphone Survey System, CSS and include using existing technology in a, for this market, unknown way. By doing so Tradewell offer their customers fast and price worthy surveys where the results can be viewed online where they are constantly being updated.</p><p> </p><p>At this very moment CSS is about to be launched och so the purpose of this master thesis is to identify and analyse those factors impacting the success of product development and product launching and also to do a mapping over the market at which Tradewell is an actor. The goal is then to combine the above mentioned analyse and mapping with results given from my own market survey to discuss Tradewell at large and CSS in more detail which then will lead to recommendations regarding how to move further, both as a company and with their launch of CSS.</p><p> </p><p>The master thesis consists of a literature study where product development and product launching has been researched. It also includes a mapping over those methods most frequently used and offered on today’s market. Finally I did my own market survey among 72 of Tradewell’s potential customers, all respondents chosen in collaboration with the management at Tradewell. The purpose of the survey was to gain knowledge about potential customers and to see if there is any interest for a service like CSS.</p><p> </p><p>Some of the most important factors when launching a product that were identified during the work of the thesis were pricing, timing, market orientation and market communication. The results from the survey showed, among other things, that most of the respondents already do customer surveys and also that there is an interest for a service like CSS. The conclusions drawn from the results of the survey together with the literature study lead to the final discussion. The discussion brings up how Tradewell are doing today, seen in the light of the different factors; what they do well and what needs improvement. Finally it is discussed what can be done to make these improvements and why they are necessary and I give recommendations for how to move along with the launch of CSS.</p> / <p>Dagens marknad för företag som genomför statistiska undersökningar är en marknad med många standardiserade metoder och det är svårt att differentiera sig gentemot konkurrenterna. Samtidigt utvecklas både samhället i allmänhet och tekniken i synnerhet hela tiden och allt skall ständigt utföras med bättre precision på mindre tid.</p><p> </p><p>Ett av företagen på den ovan nämnda marknaden är Tradewell Group AB. Tradewell har under 2008/2009 utvecklat en ny metod att genomföra statistiska undersökningar med. Metoden, som de själva döpt, kallas Cellphone Survey System, CSS. Metoden utnyttjar den teknik som finns tillgänglig på ett, på denna marknad, ovanligt sätt och erbjuder kunderna snabba och kostnadseffektiva undersökningar där resultaten uppdateras i realtid online.</p><p> </p><p>CSS befinner sig i skrivande stund i lanseringsstadiet och syftet med examensarbetet är att identifiera och analysera de framgångsfaktorer som styr produktutveckling och produktlansering samt att kartlägga den marknad på vilken Tradewell är en aktör. Målet med examensarbete är sedan att kombinera den ovan nämnda analysen och kartläggningen med de resultat som fås från min marknadsundersökning för att föra en diskussion kring Tradewell i allmänhet och CSS i synnerhet och sedermera komma med rekommendationer för hur Tradewell skall gå vidare, dels som företag, dels med lanseringen av CSS.</p><p> </p><p>Examensarbetet har genomförts genom en litteraturstudie där teori om produktutveckling och produktlansering har behandlats. Arbetet innefattar också en kartläggning över de metoder på marknaden som i dagsläget är de vanligast förekommande och som flest undersökningsföretag erbjuder sina kunder. Slutligen gjordes även en marknadsundersökning bland 72 av Tradewells potentiella kunder, alla respondenter framtagna i samråd mellan mig och Tradewell, för att ge större kunskap om kunderna på marknaden och se om det finns intresse för en tjänst som CSS.</p><p> </p><p>Några av de viktigaste faktorerna vid en produktlansering som identifierades är prissättning, timing, marknadsorientering och marknadskommunikation. Marknadsundersökningen som gjordes visade att utav respondenterna så gör en stor del av dem i dagsläget undersökningar. Den visade också att det finns ett intresse för undersökningar gjorda med CSS. Utifrån resultaten som marknadsundersökningen gav dras sedan slutsatser som tillsammans med den litterära studien utgör grunden för den slutliga diskussionen. Där diskuteras Tradewells nuvarande läge sett till de olika faktorerna; vad de redan i dagsläget gör bra och vad jag anser kan bli bättre. Slutligen diskuteras också hur och varför de skall förbättra dessa faktorer och rekommendationer ges för hur de skall gå vidare med lanseringen av CSS.</p>

Furnishing Britain : Gothic as a national aesthetic, 1740-1840

Furniture history is often considered a niche subject removed from the main discipline of art history, and one that has little to do with the output of painters, sculptors and architects. This thesis, however, connects the key intellectual, artistic and architectural debates surfacing in 'the arts' between 1740 and 1840 with the design of British furniture. Despite the expanding corpus of scholarly monographs and articles dealing with individual cabinet-makers, furniture making in geographic areas and periods of time, little attention has been paid to exploring Gothic furniture made between 1740 and 1840. Indeed, no body of research on 'mainstream' Gothic furniture made at this time has been published. No sustained attempt has been made to trace its stylistic evolution, establish stylistic phases, or to place this development within the context of contemporary architectural practice and historiography — except for the study of A.W.N. Pugin's 'Reformed Gothic'. Neither have furniture historians been willing to explore the aesthetic's connection with the intellectual and sentimental position of 'the Gothic' in the period. This thesis addresses these shortcomings and is the first to bridge the historiographic, cultural and architectural concerns of the time with the stylistic, constructional and material characteristics of Gothic furniture. It argues that it, like architecture, was charged with social and political meanings that included national identity in the eighteenth century — around a century before Charles Barry and A.W.N. Pugin designed the Palace of Westminster and prominently associated the Gothic legacy with Britishness.

Αντικείμενο αυτής της μεταπτυχιακής εργασίας είναι ο εντοπισμός της ύπαρξης μιας κυρίαρχης ευρείας ζώνης ισοτροπικής πηγής κι η εκτίμηση των συντεταγμένων θέσης αυτής, όταν αυτή βρίσκεται σ’ έναν τρισδιάστατο ή δισδιάστατο χώρο, ο οποίος εποπτεύεται και παρακολουθείται από ένα δίκτυο τυχαία διασκορπισμένων αισθητήρων. Οι κόμβοι του δικτύου μπορούν να περιέχουν ακουστικά, παλμικά κι άλλου είδους μικροηλεκτρομηχανολογικά στοιχεία αίσθησης του περιβάλλοντος. Κατά την αίσθηση ενός γεγονότος ενδιαφέροντος μπορούν να αυτοοργανωθούν σ’ ένα συγχρονισμένο ασύρματο ραδιοδίκτυο χρησιμοποιώντας χαμηλής κατανάλωσης πομποδέκτες spread spectrum, ώστε να επικοινωνούν μεταξύ τους και με τους κεντρικούς επεξεργαστές. Ο εντοπισμός της ύπαρξης μιας κυρίαρχης πηγής σ’ ένα δίκτυο αισθητήρων, με τα παραπάνω χαρακτηριστικά, επιτεύχθηκε με τη χρήση μιας τυφλής μεθόδου μορφοποίησης λοβού, γνωστή ως μέθοδος συλλογής της μέγιστης ισχύος. Η μέθοδος αυτή, η οποία υλοποιήθηκε στα πλαίσια αυτής της εργασίας, παρέχει τις εκτιμήσεις των σχετικών χρόνων καθυστέρησης άφιξης του σήματος της κυρίαρχης πηγής στους αισθητήρες του δικτύου ως προς έναν αισθητήρα αναφοράς. Κύριο αντικείμενο μελέτης αυτής της εργασίας είναι ο υπολογισμός του κυρίαρχου ιδιοδιανύσματος του δειγματοληπτημένου πίνακα αυτοσυσχέτισης. Αυτό επιτυγχάνεται στη βιβλιογραφία που μελετήθηκε είτε με χρήση της δυναμικής μεθόδου είτε με χρήση της μεθόδου ιδιοανάλυσης. Ανά στιγμιότυπο δειγμάτων απαιτείται η ανανέωση του πίνακα αυτοσυσχέτισης κι ο υπολογισμός του κυρίαρχου ιδιοδιανύσματος. Όμως, οι δύο παραπάνω μέθοδοι για τον υπολογισμό αυτό χρειάζονται αυξημένη πολυπλοκότητα μιας κι η διάσταση του πίνακα είναι αρκετά μεγάλη. Η συνεισφορά της εργασίας αυτής έγκειται στη μείωση αυτής της πολυπλοκότητας με τη χρήση μιας προσαρμοστικής μεθόδου υπολογισμού του κυρίαρχου ιδιοδιανύσματος. Τέλος, αντικείμενο της εργασίας αυτής είναι και το πρόβλημα εντοπισμού και παρακολούθησης των συντεταγμένων θέσης της κυρίαρχης πηγής από τις εκτιμήσεις των σχετικών χρόνων καθυστέρησης άφιξης. / Object of this postgraduate work are the detection of presence of an isotropic wideband dominant source and the estimate of its coordinates of placement (localization), when the source is found in a three or two dimensional space, which is supervised and watched by a randomly distributed sensor network. The nodes of the network may contain acoustical, vibrational and other MEM-sensing (Micro-Electro-Mechanical) elements. Upon sensing an event of interest, they can self-organize into a synchronized wireless radio network using low-power spread-spectrum transceivers to communicate among themselves and central processors. The detection of presence of a dominant source in a sensor network, with the above characteristics, was achieved with the use of a blind beamforming method, known as the maximum power collection method. This method, which was implemented in the context of this work, provides estimates of the relative time delays of arrival (relative TDEs - Time Delay Estimations) of the dominant source’s signal to the sensors of the network referenced to a reference sensor. The main object of study of the work is the calculation of the dominant eigenvector of the sampled correlation matrix. This is achieved, in the bibliography that was studied, either by using the power method or with use of the SVD method (Singular Value Decomposition). Per snapshot of samples it is required to update the autocorrelation matrix and to calculate the dominant eigenvector. However, the above two methods for this calculation have an increased complexity because the dimension of the matrix is high enough. The contribution of this work lies in the reduction of that complexity by using an adaptive method for the dominant eigenvector calculation. Finally, this work also focuses on the problem of localization and tracking of the coordinates of placement of the dominant source from the estimates of the relative time delays of arrival.

L’emploi largement répandu des licences Creative Commons, en vue de partager des oeuvres non logicielles, justifie le choix de leur consacrer une étude, afin d’apprécier leur rapprochement actuel au régime légale de la propriété littéraire et artistique et afin d’envisager de conciliations prospectives. L’étude relève la singularité de Creative Commons en tant que système de gestion des droits d’auteur ; ce dernier, composé d’une série de licences, est guidé par une association de promotion du partage d’oeuvres et mu par une idéologie fondée sur l’autonomie de la volonté des auteurs. L’hypothèse de notre étude repose sur la variété constatée des libertés accordées par les licences. Ces dernières se transforment en une série d’outils standardisés qui s’imposent progressivement comme une norme pour la jouissance partagée d’oeuvres – tout en se fondant sur les règles du droit d’auteur. En même temps, l’étude des conséquences de la mise en oeuvre de chaque licence illustre la création d’asymétries entre les acteurs du partage. Notamment, si la distinction entre utilisation commerciale et non commerciale – introduite par les licences – constitue un outil deconciliation du régime propriétaire avec celui du partage créatif, l’utilisation de la notion ambiguë d'utilisation non commerciale influence le sort des licences et complique le processus évolutif des oeuvres partagées. L’affinement de la variété des licences conduit l’étude à s’atteler à l’examen des mécanismes prospectifs afin d’aboutir à une coordination des licences avec le droit d’auteur qui serait fondée sur le principe fondateur de Creative Commons, à savoir l’essai de rééquilibrage des intérêts impliqués au droit d’auteur. / The widespread use of the Creative Commons licenses for the sharing of non-software works demonstrates the imperative to devote a study to the licenses in question. The goal of the study is to assess the current links of the licenses to the legal regime of intellectual property in order to suggest prospective ones. The study underlines the singularity of Creative Commons as a copyright management system, which consists of a series of licenses and is guided by an association promoting the sharing of works and by an ideology based on the autonomy of the authors. The premise of the thesis is founded on the variety of freedoms granted by the licenses. The licenses transform into a series of standardized tools that are gradually imposed as a standard for the sharing of works while relying on the rules of copyright. At the same time, the analysis of the consequences of the implementation of each license demonstrates the asymmetries created between the agents involved in the sharing process. In particular, our study shows that although the distinction between commercial and non commercial introduced by the licenses acts as a conciliation tool between the proprietary regime and that of the creative sharing, the introduction of an ambiguous concept - that of non-commercial use - influences the fate of licenses and complicates the evolutionary process of shared works. One way to resolve this tension proposed by our thesis is to review prospective mechanisms that would achieve a level of coordination between the licenses and copyright based on the founding principle of Creative Commons, which is the rebalancing of the interests involved in copyright.

Odběr spermatu pomocí katetru a jeho využití při výtěru štiky obecné (Esox lucius L.)

The aim of this diploma thesis is to compare quality of northern pike sperm collected by different methods. First method is collection of stripped sperm by abdominal massage of the belly. Second method is collection of stripped sperm with special catheter to eliminate sperm contamination by urine. The last method is collection of testicular sperm. Differently collected sperm was evaluated and compared its quality. The main observed parameters were sperm volume, spermatozoa concentration, spermatozoa motility and velocity and osmolality of seminal fluid. Sperm samples were used for eggs fertilization. In fertilized eggs, the fertility of eggs and larvae hatching rate were observed.

In this problem, a set of vertices, each associated with a bonus, and a set of vehicles are given. The objective is to determine a cycle that visits some vertices collecting, at least, a pre-defined bonus, and minimizing the cost of the tour that can be traveled with different vehicles. A mathematical formulation is presented and implemented in a solver to produce results for sixty-two instances. The proposed problem is also subject of an experimental study based on the algorithmic application of four metaheuristics representing the best adaptations of the state of the art of the heuristic programming.We also provide new local search operators which exploit the neighborhoods of the problem, construction procedures and adjustments, created specifically for the addressed problem. Comparative computational experiments and performance tests are performed on a sample of 80 instances, aiming to offer a competitive algorithm to the problem. We conclude that memetic algorithms, computational transgenetic and a hybrid evolutive algorithm are competitive in tests performed / Este trabalho apresenta uma nova variante do problema do Caixeiro Alugador ainda n?o descrita na literatura, denominada de Caixeiro Alugador com Coleta de Pr?mios. L’ouvrage que nous allons étudier est un objet singulier, objet d’art, œuvre littéraire, œuvre d’art, livre de peintre ou album, il présente au lecteur de multiples facettes. Offrant au public une collaboration inédite et captivante entre le poète Francis Ponge et le peintre Jean Dubuffet, l’ouvrage se présente comme un album de lithographies : une série de trente-quatre épreuves, composées par Jean Dubuffet de septembre à novembre 1944, sont précédées et « préfacées » par un texte de Francis Ponge. L’album, intitulé Matière et mémoire, ou les lithographes à l’école, est publié en novembre 1945 – soit exactement un an après la rencontre du peintre et du poète - à l’atelier Fernand Mourlot, il ne sera tiré qu’à une soixantaine d’exemplaires avant que ne soit détruite la pierre lithographique. Cette sorte d’ouvrage se caractérise par un certain « rapport de force » entre le texte et l’image, rapport inverse à celui qui s’opère dans le livre illustré traditionnel, puisque c’est ici l’image qui préexiste, le texte étant élaboré à partir, à cause même des lithographies. Suivant pas à pas le chemin de la genèse de l’œuvre, nous verrons comment s’est engendré ce projet, sa réalisation et la part non négligeable prise par Jean Paulhan – alors en relation et correspondance suivie avec Jean Dubuffet et Francis Ponge – dans l’élaboration de l’œuvre commune, livre de rencontre plus que de dialogue. Notre exemplaire de référence porte le numéro 22, conservé à la Bibliothèque Nationale de France ; il comporte le dossier de notes de Francis Ponge, l’invitation à l’exposition des lithographies à la Galerie André et possède une reliure originale, réalisée en 1985 par Max Leroux. / The work which we are going to present is a singular object, a work of art, a literary work, a work of art, painter's book(pound) or album, it presents to the reader of multiple facets. Offering to the public a new and fascinating collaboration between the poet Francis Ponge and the painter Jean Dubuffet, the work appears as an album of lithographies: a series of thirty four tests, consisted by Jean Dubuffet from September till November, 1944, are preceded and "introduced" by Francis Ponge's text. The album, entitled Matière et mémoire, ou les lithographes à l'école, is published in November, 1945 - exactly one year after the meeting of the painter and the poet - to the workshop Fernand Mourlot, it will be pulled only in about sixty copies before is destroyed the lithographic stone. This kind of work is characterized by a certain "balance of power" between the text and the image, report inverts to the one who takes place in the traditional illustrated book, because it is here the image which preexists, the text being elaborated to leave, before cause of lithographies. According to step by step the road of the genesis of the work, we shall see how engendered this project, its realization and the not insignificant part taken by Jean Paulhan - then in relation and correspondence followed with Jean Dubuffet and Francis Ponge - in the elaboration of the common work, a book of meeting more than dialogue. Our reference copy wears the number 22, kept by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France; it contains the file of Francis Ponge's notes, the invitation in the exhibition of lithographies in the Gallery André and possesses an original binding, realized in 1985 by Max Leroux.

The method named by Tradewell is called Cellphone Survey System, CSS and include using existing technology in a, for this market, unknown way. By doing so Tradewell offer their customers fast and price worthy surveys where the results can be viewed online where they are constantly being updated.   At this very moment CSS is about to be launched och so the purpose of this master thesis is to identify and analyse those factors impacting the success of product development and product launching and also to do a mapping over the market at which Tradewell is an actor. The goal is then to combine the above mentioned analyse and mapping with results given from my own market survey to discuss Tradewell at large and CSS in more detail which then will lead to recommendations regarding how to move further, both as a company and with their launch of CSS.   The master thesis consists of a literature study where product development and product launching has been researched. It also includes a mapping over those methods most frequently used and offered on today’s market. Finally I did my own market survey among 72 of Tradewell’s potential customers, all respondents chosen in collaboration with the management at Tradewell. The purpose of the survey was to gain knowledge about potential customers and to see if there is any interest for a service like CSS.   Some of the most important factors when launching a product that were identified during the work of the thesis were pricing, timing, market orientation and market communication. The results from the survey showed, among other things, that most of the respondents already do customer surveys and also that there is an interest for a service like CSS. The conclusions drawn from the results of the survey together with the literature study lead to the final discussion. The discussion brings up how Tradewell are doing today, seen in the light of the different factors; what they do well and what needs improvement. Finally it is discussed what can be done to make these improvements and why they are necessary and I give recommendations for how to move along with the launch of CSS. / Dagens marknad för företag som genomför statistiska undersökningar är en marknad med många standardiserade metoder och det är svårt att differentiera sig gentemot konkurrenterna. Samtidigt utvecklas både samhället i allmänhet och tekniken i synnerhet hela tiden och allt skall ständigt utföras med bättre precision på mindre tid.   Ett av företagen på den ovan nämnda marknaden är Tradewell Group AB. Tradewell har under 2008/2009 utvecklat en ny metod att genomföra statistiska undersökningar med. Metoden, som de själva döpt, kallas Cellphone Survey System, CSS. Metoden utnyttjar den teknik som finns tillgänglig på ett, på denna marknad, ovanligt sätt och erbjuder kunderna snabba och kostnadseffektiva undersökningar där resultaten uppdateras i realtid online.   CSS befinner sig i skrivande stund i lanseringsstadiet och syftet med examensarbetet är att identifiera och analysera de framgångsfaktorer som styr produktutveckling och produktlansering samt att kartlägga den marknad på vilken Tradewell är en aktör. Målet med examensarbete är sedan att kombinera den ovan nämnda analysen och kartläggningen med de resultat som fås från min marknadsundersökning för att föra en diskussion kring Tradewell i allmänhet och CSS i synnerhet och sedermera komma med rekommendationer för hur Tradewell skall gå vidare, dels som företag, dels med lanseringen av CSS.   Examensarbetet har genomförts genom en litteraturstudie där teori om produktutveckling och produktlansering har behandlats. Arbetet innefattar också en kartläggning över de metoder på marknaden som i dagsläget är de vanligast förekommande och som flest undersökningsföretag erbjuder sina kunder. Slutligen gjordes även en marknadsundersökning bland 72 av Tradewells potentiella kunder, alla respondenter framtagna i samråd mellan mig och Tradewell, för att ge större kunskap om kunderna på marknaden och se om det finns intresse för en tjänst som CSS.   Några av de viktigaste faktorerna vid en produktlansering som identifierades är prissättning, timing, marknadsorientering och marknadskommunikation. Marknadsundersökningen som gjordes visade att utav respondenterna så gör en stor del av dem i dagsläget undersökningar. Den visade också att det finns ett intresse för undersökningar gjorda med CSS. Utifrån resultaten som marknadsundersökningen gav dras sedan slutsatser som tillsammans med den litterära studien utgör grunden för den slutliga diskussionen. Där diskuteras Tradewells nuvarande läge sett till de olika faktorerna; vad de redan i dagsläget gör bra och vad jag anser kan bli bättre. Slutligen diskuteras också hur och varför de skall förbättra dessa faktorer och rekommendationer ges för hur de skall gå vidare med lanseringen av CSS.
