Epochs: uma plataforma para avaliação de novas tecnologias baseadas em agentes para proteção de sistemas elétricos de potência / not available

Este trabalho apresenta novas explorações do uso de sistemas agentes aplicados à proteção de sistemas elétricos de potência (SEP). Os sistemas agentes são definidos como softwares capazes de interagir com seu ambiente. Todos estudos apresentados focam o uso de agentes dentro de um SEP, através de uma rede privada de comunicação (intranet) baseada na tecnologia da internet. O objetivo final deste trabalho é o desenvolvimento de agentes que possam ser examinados em situações reais. Para facilitar esta tarefa, uma plataforma computacional foi desenvolvida denominada como EPOCHS (Electric Power and Communication Synchronizing Simulator). A principal função desta plataforma é permitir a integração dos agentes a um ambiente que combine simuladores que ofereçam informações sobre um SEP, assim como dados sobre uma rede intranet. Dentro deste contexto, um método para proteção primária e de retaguarda foi desenvolvido e testado dentro da plataforma EPOCHS. Os agentes desenvolvidos apresentaram resultados melhores que as técnicas tradicionais. Resultados ilustrando o desempenho e viabilidade deste sistema de proteção baseado em agentes são apresentados. / This work presents new explorations into the use of agent technology applied to the protection of power systems. We broadly define an agent to be an autonomous piece of software capable of interacting with its environment. Our investigation centers on the use of agents within an electric power grid using a private communication network, termed a utility intranet, based on internet technology. Our goal is to create practical agents that can be examined in realistic situations. To facilitate this aim, a new platform has been developed, EPOCHS, which allows agents to operate in an environmental that combines proven electric power electromagnetic and electromechanical transient simulators with a popular network communication simulation engine. We developed primary and a backup protection system using agent technology and evaluated this system within the EPOCHS environment. The agent-based system studied improved on traditional methods. Results illustrating the performance and viability of agent-based protection system are presented.

Intranätets betydelse för användarna i ett landsting

The aim with this independent degree project of master thesis is to find what the user opinions of the intranet in a county council is. The paper seeks how the question about how the culture in the organisation was affected by the use of the intranet. An important part is to explore the expectations and acceptance of the intranet and get a picture of which functions and services support day-to-day work with good quality. One goal is to find out how the intranet users feel that the communication, information and usability can be developed. The focus group interview is a qualitative method that has been applied for gathering data from the respondents, who participate in the investigation from the county council. The used method is unstructured focus groups containing the three dominating categories of staff in the county council. Totally five focus groups have been interviewed. In the result and the following analysis of data from the focus group interviews have a few main categories been chosen for the survey. One of the categories is the information- and communication flows in the intranet, which include how it works today and could be improved. Other parts in the analysis are usability, organisation culture and the potential for the intranet as a tool for the organisation. A number of conclusions are drawn from the survey and the analysis. One conclusion is that the intranet is a well-accepted channel for information, but underestimated as a communication channel. Another conclusion is that the respondents considered that an intranet has to be fun, exciting, and contain interesting material; which will lead to that the intranet will be used more. The content has to be updated and suited for the needs of the organisation.

4 SUMMARY The diploma thesis relates to possibilities and using of electronic support in the human resource management. The thesis deals with the development, general types of the electronic support, using of specific types of electronic support in different personnel activities. There are also outlined trends and tendencies in the near future of electronic support in the human resource management. A part of the thesis is dedicated to an empirical study. The study is focused on the current situation of using electronic support in chosen personnel activities (such as analysing of job description, attraction, recruiting, personnel administration, adaptation, compensation and benefits, evaluation, trainings and internal communication). The respondents are organizations located in the Czech Republic. The empirical study uses the semi-quantitative approach and it is realized by the electronic semi-structured questionnaire. [pt] Através do estudo da evolução dos computadores e de suas interfaces, esta pesquisa procura levantar as origens da interface gráfica e os motivos pelos quais elas pouco evoluíram nos mais de vinte anos desde a sua introdução. Em uma segunda etapa, através da análise de 10 entrevistas, são discutidas as técnicas que alguns profissionais de áreas gráficas aplicam para lidar com a informação digital em suas máquinas, como eles driblam alguns dos limites impostos pela interface gráfica e como eles alteram sua forma de trabalhar quando encontram limites que não podem ser transpostos. Os resultados apresentados poderão servir de subsídios para o desenvolvimento de futuras interfaces melhor adequadas às atividades dos profissionais que vivem da manipulação de imagens. / [en] Through the study of the evolution of computers and of their interfaces, this research seeks to survey the origins of the graphic interface and the motives why they evolved so little in more than twenty years since its introduction. In a second stage, through the analysis of 10 interviews, the techniques used by some professionals of graphic areas to deal with digital information in their machines are discussed - how they get round some of the limits imposed by the graphic interface and how they alter their way of working when they find limits which cannot be transposed. The results presented can serve as subsidies to the development of future interfaces best adequate to the activities of the professionals who live off the manipulation of images.

Given the important role played by information in the business environment, managers are rethinking their management practices, adopting strategies for its dissemination among employees, adopting nowadays mainly web environment as a channel of interaction between individuals who are included in this environment, emerging concerns about the connectivity between users and system. In this sense, there is the Intranet, whose goal is to provide information in the digital environment for employees. Treading the perspective of information science, the principles of information architecture and usability guidelines, this research discusses the informational needs, interaction with users and structuring of information from the Intranet Creduni João Pessoa. The problem addressed was how to improve the Intranet to improve communication with employees, facilitating the dissemination of information on this business. Being the area of Information Science and uncertainties involved in the transformation of a learning society, the theme of this research has a key role in this context, since the consolidation of an information society, the democratization of aligned to its easy access information is fundamental. This is an exploratory and descriptive study of qualitative and quantitative nature, in which to evaluate the intranet interface, was considered the analytical method (heuristic evaluation ) and the method of usability testing (questionnaire ). After collecting and analyzing data to enumerate a list of informational barriers relating to usability and information architecture, weaving up suggestions for improvement for each of them, from the point of view of users and evaluators. Finally, we discussed the importance of considering quality requirements aiming to provide better satisfaction in this business environment interactions. Finally it was concluded that the intranet Creduni JP lacks quality requirements that provide better satisfaction in this business environment interactions. / O processo tradicional de transferência de informação está sendo gradativamente substituído pela transferência através de redes de comunicação eletrônica, cuja transformação ocasionou um novo olhar das empresas a era informacional. Tendo em vista a importância do papel desempenhado pela informação no ambiente empresarial, os gestores passam a repensar suas práticas de gestão, adotando estratégias voltadas para sua disseminação entre os colaboradores, adotando nos dias atuais principalmente o ambiente web como um canal de interação entre os indivíduos que estão inseridos nesse ambiente, surgindo a preocupação com a conectividade entre usuários e sistema. Nesse sentido, destaca-se a Intranet, cujo objetivo é disponibilizar informações em ambiente digital para os colaboradores. Trilhando a perspectiva da Ciência da Informação, os princípios da Arquitetura da Informação, bem como as diretrizes de usabilidade, nessa pesquisa são discutidas as necessidades informacionais, a interação com os usuários e a estruturação das informações da Intranet da Creduni João Pessoa. En el Perú existe un gran déficit educacional y generalmente esto se refleja con mayor énfasis en los pueblos, localidades, caseríos y zonas alejadas donde el acceso es limitado, carecen de servicios básicos y falta de comunicación. La provincia de Purús, ubicada en la región de Ucayali, es un claro ejemplo de este déficit por el grado de aislamiento que presenta. El inicio de clases en las distintos instituciones educativos a lo largo de esta región se ve afectado por diferentes motivos como es el retraso con el abastecimiento de materiales educativos, lo que ocasiona una frecuente inasistencia del docente y alumno. En la presente tesis se plantea realizar el diseño de un enlace satelital-terrestre que permita, tanto al alumno como al docente de las instituciones educativas en Purús, acceder a materiales educativos actualizados y de calidad. Este servicio será ofrecido vía intranet, cuyo material será dado por el Ministerio de Educación, y vía internet para que el alumno pueda hacer uso de los todos beneficios que ofrece este. In Peru there is a great educational deficit and generally this is reflected more strongly in the villages, towns, villages and remote areas where access is limited, lack basic services and lack of communication. Purus province, located in Ucayali region, is a clear example of this deficit by the degree of isolation that presents. The beginning of classes in the various educational institutions throughout this region is affected by different reasons such as delay in the supply of educational materials, causing frequent absences of teachers and students. In this thesis it is proposed to make a design of a satellite-terrestrial link enabling both students and teachers of the educational institutions in Purus, access to updated educational materials and quality. This service will be offered via intranet, which material will be given by the Ministry of Education and via internet so that students can make use of all benefits that offers this.

Interaktiva intranät - ett hinder eller en möjlighet? : En kvalitativ fallstudie av intranätet eGate / Interactive intranets – possibilities or obstacles? : A quantitative case study of the intranet eGate

Studien har genomförts som en fallstudie på Electrolux huvudkontor i Stockholm och syftar till att studera de kontorsanställdas uppfattningar gällande det egna användandet av interaktiva funktioner på företagets intranät eGate. Genom att undersöka deltagande och engagemang i förhållande till systemet ämnar studien försöka identifiera faktorer som kan påverka användandet. Följande frågeställningar har formulerats; Hur uppfattar anställda på Electrolux huvudkontor det egna användandet av de interaktiva funktionerna på intranätet eGate? Vilka faktorer har betydelse för de anställdas delaktighet och engagemang på Electrolux intranät eGates interaktiva funktioner? En inledande enkätundersökning genomfördes bland samtliga anställda på huvudkontoret. Resultatet från enkätundersökningen låg sedan till grund för studiens huvudsakliga undersökning som bestod av tre fokusgruppsintervjuer med anställda på olika positioner inom organisationen. Det empiriska materialet har tolkats utifrån teorier om organisations- och kommunikationskultur, medieanvändning, deltagande och engagemang. Resultatet visade att användandet skiljer sig på individnivå men att det även finns likheter och skillnader på gruppnivå. Trots intranätets potential att decentralisera den interna kommunikationen och skapa interaktion mellan samtliga anställda inom organisationen, visade studiens resultat att respondenterna primärt använde intranätet för informationsinhämtning och att kommunikationen där följde traditionella, vertikala linjer. Resultatet visade indikationer på att den rådande organisations- och kommunikationskultur som respondenterna upplevde sig befinna sig i påverkade deltagandet och engagemanget. Utöver detta identifierades ett antal andra faktorer, vilka indikerar ha påverkan för deltagande och engagemang på eGate. Resultatet visade att dessa faktorer verkade på olika sätt beroende på individid eller grupp och att de både kunde främja och begränsa deltagandet och engagemanget.
