cliente. / With the accelerated growth of the internet, communications has narrowed and
changing the relationship between client and consumer. Altogether commerce found
a new way to promote themselves through this virtual space. In the hotel industry is
not different, given that the basic principle of the tourism sector as a whole is
hospitality, welcoming, the hotel must think their virtual space with the same care that
delegates to its physical space. However, how this can be implemented in the virtual
environment? Given this problem, this paper has the intention to understand what it
is and how to give the hospitality in this virtual environment and generate indicators
that can guide them, applying them in the hotel websites. To this end, a review
literature on the topic was held, and after surveying the indicators, were selected 24
hotels in the City of Rio de Janeiro for conducting systematic observation on their
websites. After the survey, it was possible to propose a review of these sites and
infer whether they are practicing hospitality in a virtual environment. The research
concluded that the hotels surveyed are not yet equipped to receive guests through
the virtual environment, lacking or even overlooked this potential customer.

This article intends to address the commercial hospitality at Hostel Che Lagarto Copacabana, focusing on the proposals by author Camargo (2004). Such type of lodging has a different way of accommodating guests, because it offers a friendly and economical environment with good quality services that try to satisfy the guests, further providing an exchange of experiences at the place, through a cultural interchange among tourists from all over the world. The methodology used in this article is an exploratory qualitative research, whose general purpose was to study commercial hospitality, focusing on the categories of receiving, lodging, feeding, and entertaining. The data collected made us see the hostel under a different light as a commercial space, because it is no longer only a place to lodge for profitable purposes, but further, it is a place where the employees care to make the atmosphere friendly, and chiefly to keep learning every day how to receive the guests so well that they will come back to stay there in the future.

[en] STUDY OF THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF THE SUSPENDED PARTICULATE MATTER IN THE AIR IN RIO DE JANEIRO CITY / [pt] ESTUDO DA COMPOSIÇÃO QUÍMICA DO MATERIAL PARTICULADO EM SUSPENSÃO NO AR NA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIRODANIELA SILVEIRA SOLURI 27 October 2005 (has links)
Gurgel, Jacarepaguá, Campo Grande, Tijuca, Ilha do Fundão,
Guaratiba,
As
amostragens foram realizadas, simultaneamente, sempre no
meio da semana,
durante 24 horas, e compreenderam o período de
setembro/2003 a
setembro/2004. Ao final deste período, foram obtidas, por
ponto de
amostragem, trinta amostras de cada fração, totalizando
seiscentas amostras.
outra parte, a
particulado grosso
Vermelha e a Avenida Brasil.
apresentaram as
menores concentrações de particulado fino, grosso e de
carbono elementar.
Janeiro. Como
esperado, o particulado grosso é, em grande parte, oriundo
da ressuspensão do solo, contendo, ainda, aerossol marinho
e compostos de origem secundária,
como sulfato e nitrato. O particulado fino, por sua vez, é
majoritariamente
[en] The present work intend to be a contribution for the
understanding of the
air pollution in the Rio de Janeiro city, aerosol sampling
was performed at ten
different sites of the city: Gávea, Honório Gurgel,
Jacarepaguá, Campo Grande,
Tijuca, Ilha do Fundão, Guaratiba, Recreio dos
Bandeirantes, Santa Cruz and
Realengo. Stacked filter units (SFU), developed by Gent
University, were used
as samplers. These filters separate the particles into two
main fractions: the fine
mode defined as respirable particles (with aerodynamic
diameter < 2.5 um,
PM2.5), and coarse mode defined as inhalable particles
(with aerodynamic
diameter between 2.5 um and 10 um, PM2.5-10). The aerosol
monitoring stations
were simultaneously operated, always in the middle of the
week, during 24 h,
from September/2003 to September/2004. At the end of this
period, 30 samples
of each fraction were obtained from each of the sampling
sites (600 filter
samples in total). After the determination of the mass
concentration, and the
elemental carbon amount present in each of the fine
filters, the filters were
divided into two parts. The first part was used to
determine the concentration of
ammonium, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride,
nitrate and
sulfate soluble in water and, the other one, for the
determination of the
concentration of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium,
aluminum, iron and
titanium. The Honório Gurgel site presented, in average,
the highest
concentration of elemental carbon, mass concentration of
coarse mode and
total particle mass concentration, which could be
explained by the proximity to
the Avenida Brasil and industries of the region. The
sampling site of the highest
concentration of the fine mode and secondary aerosol was
the one localized in
Ilha do Fundão, near industrial areas such as Bonsucesso
and São Cristóvão,
and heavy automobile traffic lines like Linha Vermelha and
Avenida Brasil. In
other hand, the sites localized at Recreio dos
Bandeirantes and at Guaratiba
presented in the smallest mass concentration of fine and
coarse mode and
elemental carbon. Based on these determined parameters, it
was possible to
identify 70% of the origin of the material present in the
fine ad coarse fractions
of the particulate matter suspended in the air in the
studied areas of Rio de
Janeiro city. As expected, the coarse mode particle came
from resuspended soil dust, together with marine aerosol
and some secondary aerosol, like nitrate
and sulfate. The fine mode particle came mainly from
fossil fuel combustion that
originates secondary aerosol and the elemental carbon,
with additional
contribution from marine aerosol and terrigineous material.

[en] THROUGH A WIRE FENCE: INFANT EDUCATION, CULTURE AND THE CITY / [pt] PELAS TELAS DE UM ARAMADO: EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL, CULTURA E CIDADEELIANE FAZOLO FREIRE 21 October 2008 (has links)
Municipal situada no
as manifestações e
campo chamam a
procuram gerir a
heterogeneidade dos seus papéis, identidades e posições
sociais. / [en] The purpose of the present thesis is to comprehend how the
relationship
between children of an Infant Education class at a
Municipal School, located in an
urban area downtown Rio de Janeiro City, and the cultural
expressions and
manifestations around the school occurs. Moved by an
ethnographic inspiration,
the researcher focused a group of children between 4 and 5
years old, whose
activities have been accompanied daily. The contexts
wherein these children live
have changed drastically in the last years, while social
and cultural factors
affected the way of living and the relations between people
and the world around
them. A new approach on experience leads us to believe that
the act of learning,
today, occurs not only inside the classroom, framed by the
roles played by the
formal school characters, but outside too, from the
experiences faced by the
students. The city itself, if taken as a field of research
and experimentation for
new subjectivities for the children and youngsters, allows
us to investigate how
these actors - in the present thesis, the children -
interact and live together, from
different models of social insertion. The theoretic
fundament was based on the
presumptions of the Infancy Sociology searching for the
children`s notions of
culture, from a point of view that considers childhood as a
social construction;
children are active actors in the building up of the
society where they live. The
field-work and the ethnographic reports on the field-book
call the attention of the
readers to the fact that each child is a being that
participates in the construction of
significant actions shared by the collectivity, as well as
in the organization as a
social group. These reports also indicate the socialization
processes performed by
the children themselves, when they try to manage the
heterogeneity of their roles,
identities and social positions.

Toxoplasma gondii is a protozoan parasite, potentially infecting all warm-blooded animals. In South America, and especially in Brazil, this cosmopolitan parasite presents some peculiarities due to an exceptional genetic diversity and the existence of severe clinical forms in Human, probably linked to the genetic background of some strains. In Brazil, the state of Rio de Janeiro presents highly contrasted environments from the city of Rio de Janeiro with different degrees of urbanizaton to isolated “sky islands”, hosting a rich and endemic fauna. We looked for physical and anthropic factors that may have an impact on the epidemiology of T. gondii in different environments of the state of Rio de Janeiro. We performed a seroprevalence study in cat populations living in 2 districts of Rio de Janeiro city with different degrees of urbanization, and molecular epidemiology studies on tissues of animals collected in Rio city, in a National Park characterized by “sky islands” and in intermediate and rural areas surrounding this park..The seroprevalence study on cats in Rio de Janeiro city allowed to show the value of blood sampling on filter-paper for performing the Modified-Agglutination-Test (MAT) for antibody detection in cats. There was a significant difference between seroprevalence observed in stray-cats from a residential district area with a relatively well-preserved natural environment (4/107- 3.74%) and in cats from a downtown public shelter (32/265-12.08%). Cat population density and other ecological factors may be involved in these differences.T. gondii DNA was detected in tissues of 8/16 cats from Rio city, 14/18 domestic and 23/33 wild animals in the area surrounding the park, and 31/38 small rodents or marsupials captured inside the National Park. DNA detection was positive in 3 tissues from wild felids found in the intermediate area surrounding the park and in feces from a Puma yagouaroundi found inside the park. This showed the role of wild felids in soil contamination in both environments.Genetic characterization using 15 microsatellite markers was successful for 6 samples, including one live strain (full genotyping for 5, and incomplete genotyping for one sample). This small sampling of strains was characterized by a large genetic diversity and revealed the presence of the main brazilian lineages, BRII and BRIII in isolated sky islands as well as in the city center of Rio de Janeiro.

[en] POLICIES FOR SUSTAINABLE HOUSING IN RIO DE JANEIRO: UNCONVENTIONAL MATERIALS IN INTERACTIVITY WITH THE PARTICULAR ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING IN RIO / [pt] POR POLÍTICAS HABITACIONAIS SUSTENTÁVEIS NO RIO DE JANEIRO: MATERIAIS NÃO-CONVENCIONAIS EM INTERATIVIDADE COM AS PARTICULARIDADES SOCIOAMBIENTAIS DO TERRITÓRIO CARIOCALUCAS ALVES RIPPER 02 June 2010 (has links)
Brasil e no mundo.
[en] This study aims to revive and reframe the study of regional architecture oriented
housing policies of local sustainability, from the use of unconventional materials
associated with low economic costs and reduced environmental impact. This
redefinition is to give people access to low-income homes to own, taking into account
the use, morphology, material resources and other characteristics of natural places
where such architectures can be developed. Given the lack of sustainable housing
policies in major metropolitan areas of Brazil, this study is presented as a way to go
for science today, which may promote the perception that nature will do, primarily, for
the enjoyment of those who live in spaces. The City of Rio de Janeiro, because of its
uniqueness as the City of Nature will be the cut worked, since joining the urbanity
with its immense natural potential discarded by various public policies. Nature carioca
can generate, through public managers, the democratization of housing in the city with
clean use of sustainable materials in the production of residential units affordable.
Currently are used almost exclusively, construction materials bound in the modern
period of the twentieth century that degrade the environment. We can say that the use
of these materials in the twentieth century has become a tradition of modernity
associated with the ideas of progress and development. Among the potential materials
offered by nature carioca should emphasize raw land and bamboo, materials which
have for centuries supported the survival of man in Brazil and the world. In this
context, we conclude that the solutions for the generation of sustainable housing
adapted to the specificities of Rio (and Brazil), should emerge from this space through
their labor, materials and techniques peculiar, reflecting a major reinterpretation the
interaction between man, technology and nature.

[en] This study is due to a concern about a very current topic: the slum. The existence of an urban and housing crisis in the news brings up the discussion on the slums in major Brazilian cities, as one of the most important issues to be discussed in the urban space. More and more are discussed in the slums in the urban landscape, making it necessary to understand the dynamics of slum areas and also its relationship with the metropolis. Here we have the objective of showing the slum as the expression of some conflicts in urban areas, utilizing the example of the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, pointing the main contradictions involving the presence of the shantytowns in neighborhoods facing social groups high income in the city. We seek, therefore, to observe the elements that express these conflicts and to understand the extent to which this part of the slum population of the districts daily in the study, a discussion that involves, therefore, the issue of right to the city. We believe that these conflicts are also symbolic and run through the issue of stigma surrounding the slum and the slum in Rio de Janeiro, so, we seek also illustrate how these conflicts and contradictions contribute to exacerbate the stigma and the distance between the slum and the neighborhood.

[en] The aim of this work consists in understanding the social representations
