Nos (ciber)espaços de leitura: sentidos e sujeitos em trânsito / In the (cyber)spaces of reading: senses and subjects in transit

Ludmila Ferrarezi 08 May 2014 (has links)
Beginning with the theoretical-analytical foundation of the French Discourse Analysis we reflect on the reading, the Internet, the subject and the production of meaning through a more critical and fruitful manner that does not take just the technical aspects related to the archives materiality into account, but its political- ideological dimension. We tried to analyze the production and circulation of meanings in discursive archives about reading that are materialized in blogs, social networks and others dedicated to the reading practices, particularly in community spaces in and out of Internet. We also intend to analyze how language means in its digital materiality, observing the conflicts between different subject-positions and discursive voices intertwined in the corpus that was presented. We also aim to reflect on the ideology as a mechanism for naturalization of the senses and produce evidences about some discourses on reading instead of others, marking what It is possible to be said. In order to achieve these objectives, at first we will discuss about some theoretical issues on the world of archives and networks, from a transdisciplinary theoretical framework involving especially the fields of communication, discourse, sociology and philosophy. Then we will bring some theoretical concepts of Discourse Analysis; from this perspective, in the following section, we will present some statements about the reading and its new configurations in the digital medium, which presents new possibilities of meaning, a new discursive operation observed in the analysis of our corpus, which was organized around three discursive entries, in which the reading has a community trait besides sharing of senses produced for/in reading.

Trabalhadores da CSN: lembranças e relatos da primeira geração / (Im)possibilities in Fran Kafka\'s literature

Patricia da Silva Mueller Dinamarco 12 August 2004 (has links)
This article aims to review some aspects of the relationship between the work of the writer Franz Kafka (1883-1924) and history. It draws on the idea that this complex relationship can be better understood by examining the construction of sense and its historical deficiencies, rather than through an objective description of social processes. The unique form of literature that results from the expression of these deficiencies combines impossibility and narrative, but that does not hinder the configuration of a specific modality of realism, characterized by the peculiarly harmonious coexistence of transfigured situations and everyday life. The arguments presented here focus mainly on the narrative of A Country Doctor (Ein Landarzt).

Abstract: This dissertation, body-text-image, is a writing which is potentiated by the strength of the images, that runs away from its performing for being felt. It visits scenes caught by the play "The Book of Job ", staged for the first time at Umberto Primo Hospital São Paulo city in the early of 1995.These images, full of meanings and possibilities, reverberate around the continuous scenic movement for which they are intended, and the strong desire of becoming theater by the force and by the flow of its intensity. They are images loaded with drama and violence that also approaching the work, not least disruptive and pulsing to the Irish painter Francis Bacon. Between the images of the theater and images of the painter, there is a strong linking of sensations that lead us, among others, to the French Artaud and Deleuze. / Mestrado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Mestre em Educação

En svensk översättning av The positive empathy scale

Frimodigs, Felicia, Hanssen, Madeleine January 2018 (has links)

A salutogenic perspective to oral health:sense of coherence as a determinant of oral and general health behaviours, and oral health-related quality of life

Savolainen, J. (Jarno) 01 November 2005 (has links)
Abstract Dental diseases such as dental caries and periodontal disease could well be seen as being behaviour-related. The high prevalence of periodontal disease in the Finnish adult population mirrors the need for improving oral health behaviours in a comprehensive manner. Thus far, scant attention has been drawn to the underlying psycho-social factors that could, in part, explain oral health and oral health behaviours. Deficiencies in oral health behaviour may also be indicative of an individual's poor health behaviour in general. The aim of this study was to introduce the salutogenic approach, called sense of coherence, into the domain of oral health and health behaviour. The present study uses data from the nationally representative Health 2000 survey carried out in 2000–2001 by the National Public Health Institute of Finland. The subjects of this study numbered 4175 in article I, 4131 in article II, 4039 in article III, and 4096 in article IV, and were 30- to 64-year-old dentate men and women. The cross-sectional data was collected via home interviews, self-administered questionnaires, or clinical examinations. Sense of coherence was positively associated with oral health behaviours, such as dental attendance and tooth-brushing frequency. In addition to tooth-brushing frequency, sense of coherence was also positively associated with the level of oral hygiene. The association between sense of coherence and level of oral hygiene weakened only marginally after controlling for tooth-brushing frequency. A strong sense of coherence was strongly associated with a positive oral health-related quality of life (OHIP). Sense of coherence was also associated with all of the OHIP sub-scales, and the association was most evident in the psychological discomfort, psychological disability and handicap sub-scales. Among males, health behaviours seemed multidimensional, whereas they tended to be unidimensional among females. A strong sense of coherence was a common determinant of healthy behaviours in general, as well as of a good subjective health status. The present study recognizes the sense of coherence as a common health-promoting determinant of oral and general health behaviours, good oral health, and a good oral health-related quality of life. The results thus suggest that the role of psycho-social factors should not be underestimated in health promotion.

Planning the campus with place in mind: a phenomenological exploration of the lifeworlds of community college campuses in British Columbia

Domae, Lisa 20 July 2017 (has links)
This phenomenological study contributes to scholarship on the geographies of higher education by examining the importance of “place” for the design and planning of college campuses. In particular, the study explores the lifeworlds of two community college campuses in British Columbia, Canada, comparing the “sense of place” at an urban campus in the lower mainland of British Columbia with a rural campus on Vancouver Island. In contrast to conventional treatments of the campus as absolute space, this dissertation considers how higher education campuses serve as places of meaning to those who use them. Using a combination of natural walk-along interviews and mental mapping methods with 23 participants, the findings from this study support Seamon’s (2013) contention that places – in this case, college campuses – are interanimations of people and their physical environments where meanings and a sense of place are created through the practices of daily routines. Participant responses also suggest that a sense of belonging to community, with its concomitant academic benefits, is advanced by encouraging a feeling of “at-homeness” on campus. These findings put into question the reliance of conventional campus design and planning approaches on the visual impact of the built environment to create a sense of place. Instead, building from Gehl (2011), they highlight how design and planning efforts that support the gathering of people and their routine use of campus spaces can foster the “place-ballets” that make vibrant and distinctive places. In generating spontaneous interpersonal encounters, place-ballet also sets the conditions understood to support the creation of new knowledge. To advance the notion of place-ballet, the study concludes by offering the neighbourhood as a model for campus design and planning that both connects home to community and encourages citizen engagement. / Graduate

An exploration into the perceptions of parents on their adolescent child’s sense of safety and future aspirations in a community characterised by violence

Butler, Letitia January 2020 (has links)
Magister Psychologiae - MPsych / Community violence has been found to have profound negative effects on the lives of those exposed to it daily. The victims often tend to be adolescents, who, while striving for a better future, are often quite vulnerable to its effects. The present study focuses on the perception’s parents hold of their adolescent’s sense of safety and future aspirations in a community with high levels of violence. The data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews with participants residing in a community prone to violence. The researcher purposively sampled eight participants and conducted interviews in both English and Afrikaans.

Samtal med matematiklärare och elever : Induktiv intervju med matematiklärare och elever med koncentrationssvårigheter och om dessa elevers möjligheter att utveckla god taluppfattning / Conversation with mathematics teachers and students : Inductive interview with matematic teachers and students with attention difficulties about those students` possibilities to develop good number sense

Wormén, Mikael January 2021 (has links)
Number sense is a basic concept within Mathematics. This basic knowledge is developed and often mastered in early compulsory school settings. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the different conceptions of mathematics teachers and students with attention difficulties in regards to the possibilities of these students to develop good number sense. The theory used to analyse this data is twofold. One perspective of it is directly connected to previous research on the topic therefore a literature overview is included in the paper. The second perspective is current research about educative methods and the field of special education. Special education and current research is discussed in relation to interdisciplinary fields of study such as Psychology and Sociology. The paper is a case study where three mathematics teachers and three students with attention difficulties participated to explain their conceptions and thoughts regarding the topic. A thematic overview was created using the collected data. The result shows that the majority of the students and the teachers believe there is a connection between difficulties in developing good number sense and attention difficulties. Both groups explain that consequences of attention difficulties often are low work input during mathematics lessons and low motivation regarding the lessons. The groups also suggested educational methods in the classroom and the approach or attitude of the teacher made a difference.

Fossion, Pierre 12 January 2016 (has links) (PDF)
