[pt] O objetivo do trabalho Avós e netos: vínculos de cuidado na atualidade é analisar os vínculos de cuidado entre avós e netos das classes baixas da população carioca. Tendo por base a teoria do desenvolvimento emocional de Winnicott. O papel da mãe-ambiente e do cuidado são conceitos que enfatizamos para evidenciar o exercício satisfatório dessas avós no papel materno. Para tanto, escolhemos o projeto social denominado Cuidando de Quem Cuida, o qual a pesquisadora exerce trabalho voluntário há quatro anos. Foram, então, selecionadas seis avós integrantes e ex-integrantes do projeto, sinalizando um vínculo pré-estabelecido, e que vivenciam o papel de cuidadora dos netos. Utilizamos como instrumento uma entrevista com roteiro oculto semiestruturado que nos possibilitou a divisão de quatro categorias: Mães-avós, Cuidado, Contraste geracional e Limite. Constatamos, em seus discursos, que apesar de cada mãe apresentar uma questão que impede a criação de seus filhos, essas avós assumem essa função a partir da existência dessa lacuna na função materna. Busca-se, assim, ainda a figura feminina dentro da família como responsável pela continuidade do cuidado. A partir disso, podemos considerar que esse contexto contribui para a maior participação das avós no cuidado dos netos, preenchendo esse vazio no uso da autoridade e resgatando o valor da tradição para exercer um papel organizador no psiquismo dos netos. Na análise das entrevistas, observamos discursos que consideram o consumo de informação, de mercadorias e de alimentos como possibilidade de transmitir o afeto que não conseguem oferecer no cotidiano. / [en] Based on Winnicott s theory of emotional development, the Grandmothers and grandchildren: care links in current times study aims to analyze the care links between grandmothers and their grandchildren of the carioca lower classes. The role of environmental mother and the care are concepts we emphasize to demonstrate the satisfactory exercise of grandmothers in the maternal role. To achieve this goal, we chose the social project named Taking Care of Carers in which the researcher has been working for four years. Six grandmothers, members or former members of the project, were selected, indicating a predetermined bond and that perform the role of their grandchildren s carer. To base the research, we used a concealed semistructured scrip interview that made it possible to create a four-category division: Mothers-grandmothers, Care, Generational Contrast, and Limit. In their speeches, we detected that, although each mother presents a reason blocking them raising their children, those grandmothers take that role for them – considering that maternal lack for the kids. Therefore, the woman in the family is still seen as the responsible for the continuity of the care. Based on that, we may consider that the context contributes for a grandmothers greater participation in taking care of grandchildren, wich fullfills that lack in use of the authority and recovers the tradition value of performing an organizer role on the grandchildren s psyque. In the interview analysis, we noticed speeches that consider the consumption of information, goods, and food, as a possibility of transmiting the affection that cannot be daily offered.

[pt] Esta tese analisa a relação estreita entre corpo e escrita na trajetória artística de Lúcio Cardoso. Tal abordagem tem como foco principal o período entre 1962 e 1968, em que o escritor viveu com a sequela de um AVC, que paralisou todo o lado direito de seu corpo, atingindo substancialmente a fala e a escrita. Lúcio Cardoso tinha presença marcante pelo temperamento impulsivo e era dono de uma curiosidade intensa, chegando a incursionar por outras áreas culturais, como o teatro, o cinema e a pintura. Sua escrita refletia inquietude e desejo de sondar os mistérios da vida e da morte; por isso, provavelmente, dedicou-se de forma peculiar ao registro de diários. Já doente, verifica-se, através da observação de suas telas e sua escrita em detritos, a presença de energia capaz de burlar padrões e convenções estruturais da linguagem, fazendo romper uma nova escrita-corpo. Os exercícios de foniatria, as anotações esparsas e as composições plásticas trazem inscrita uma potente marca expressiva, salvaguarda de sua história em processo. / [en] This dissertation analyzes the close relationship between body and writing in the artistic career of Lúcio Cardoso. This approach focuses primarily on the period between 1962 and 1968, when the author lived with the sequel of a stroke that paralyzed the entire right side of his body, impairing substantially his speech and writing. Lúcio Cardoso was known by his impulsive behavior, and had an intense curiosity, even in other cultural areas, such as drama, cinema and painting. His writing reflected his concern and desire for searching the mysteries of life and death; this probably led him to write diaries. After he got ill, though the observation of his paintings and loose writing one can feel the energy capable of breaking structural language patterns and conventions, thus creating a new body writing. The phoniatrics exercises, the notes and paintings show a powerful expressive mark, a guarantee of his on-going history.

[pt] A termografia por infravermelho (TIV) tem sido usada como ferramenta de avaliação não destrutiva para detectar falhas em componentes estruturais, desempenhando um papel importante nos programas de inspeção, de fabricação e manutenção. A TIV também pode ser aplicada para avaliar limites de fadiga para materiais estruturais a partir de testes de tensão cíclica uniaxial ou de tração uniaxial quase-estáticos. Recentemente, o método quase-estático para medir o limite de fadiga via TIV, foi estendido para estados de tensão biaxial atuando na superfície de corpos de prova de tamanho real de dutos com anomalias geométricas. Os resultados mostraram que o método biaxial quase-estático previu satisfatoriamente a localização de pontos críticos para a iniciação da fadiga em espécimes tubulares com mossas. Neste trabalho, as distribuições de tensões e deformações nos pontos críticos foram determinadas usando correlação de imagens digitais (DIC), aplicada a sete espécimes dog bone, padrão uniaxial, e oito espécimes de dutos de três metros de comprimento com tampas de cabeça plana fabricados a partir de tubos de aço API 5L Grau B. A determinação do estado de deformação superficial via DIC e a determinação das variações de temperatura correspondentes para os pontos do material de superfície observados ao longo dos testes, permitiram determinar não apenas o limite de fadiga do material, mas também o que conveniou-se chamar de temperatura mínima característica (TMC). Os testes uniaxiais usando espécimes dog bone para o mesmo material indicam que as TMCs medidas estão intimamente relacionadas com o limite de escoamento do material (MYS). Esta pesquisa destaca as observações experimentais relacionadas às medidas de tensão-deformação-temperatura no início do escoamento em pontos observados em ensaios uniaxiais e biaxiais. O objetivo deste trabalho é usar o monitoramento da temperatura de estruturas sob carga crescente quase-estática para prever a que distância do início do MYS estão os estados de tensão dos pontos observados. / [en] Infrared thermography (IRT) has been applied in several areas of science. Particularly in the field of engineering, which has proven to be an excellent tool in non-destructive evaluations of structural components. In addition, IRT has also been applied to assess fatigue limits for structural materials from uniaxial cyclic stress tests or quasi-static uniaxial tensile tests. Recently, the quasi-static method to measure the fatigue limit via IRT was extended to biaxial stress states acting on the surface of real size pipeline specimens with dents. The results showed that the quasi-static biaxial method satisfactorily predicted the location of the hot spots for fatigue initiation in tubular specimens with dents. In this dissertation, the strain distributions at the critical points were determined from mechanical test using digital image correlation (DIC) applied to seven uniaxial standard dog bone and eight 3-meter-long pipeline specimens with plane headed caps fabricated from API 5L Grade B steel. The determination of the deformation state via DIC and the corresponding temperature variations for observed points on the material surface allowed to determine not only the material endurance limit, but also what may be called as the characteristic minimum temperature (TMC). Uniaxial tests using dog bone specimens for the same material indicate that the measured TMC are closely related to the material yield strength (MYS). This work brings originality in the definition and determination of the TMC point. In uniaxial tests the TMC point is determined through the temperature-strain-stress curves, while in biaxial tests, it is located in the temperature-pressure-strain curves.

[pt] Esta dissertação propõe uma perspectiva alternativa acerca da modernidade e da política moderna. Para tanto, divide-se em cinco grandes partes: além da introdução e da conclusão, há três capítulos centrais dedicados a textos de cinco pensadores considerados clássicos. O primeiro dos capítulos centrais se lança à problematização do sujeito moderno, através de alguns textos de Montaigne e Descartes. O capítulo seguinte parte das fronteiras do sujeito para as fronteiras do Estado moderno: com Maquiavel e Hobbes, a discussão se volta à produção do Estado nas articulações espaço-temporais. Em seguida, o capitulo dedicado a Kant defende que sujeito, Estado e sistema são epicentros da modernidade e que nele as aporias entre Montaigne e Descartes e entre Maquiavel e Hobbes estão expressas com ainda maior complexidade. Operando nos limites, origens e fins, desses epicentros, a interpretação aqui proposta das três críticas e dos escritos políticos de Kant busca interpretá-lo como a máxima expressão das insolúveis contradições da modernidade na relação entre o universal e o particular. A perspectiva deste texto opera na íntima imbricação entre sujeito, Estado e sistema internacional modernos. Somente dessa forma é que se pode consolidar sua reivindicação central, que poderia ser formulada da seguinte maneira: a política é a produção de limites, fronteiras e subjetividades na interação com a alteridade. Ao final do texto, pretende-se que muitas aberturas tenham sido feitas, consciente e inconscientemente, não se perdendo de vista, no entanto, que muitos fechamentos terão sido promovidos, consciente e inconscientemente. / [en] This dissertation proposes an alternative perspective on modernity and modern politics. To that task, it is divided in five major parts: in addition to the introduction and the conclusion, there are three central chapters devoted to texts from five thinkers considered classics. The first of these chapters problematizes the modern subject through some of Montaigne’s and Descartes’ texts. The next one goes from the boundaries of the modern subject to the boundaries of the modern State: with Machiavelli and Hobbes, it is discussed the production of the State in spatio-temporal articulations. Then, the chapter dedicated to Kant claims that subject, State and system are epicenters of modernity and that in Kant are expressed, in even more complexity, both the aporias between Montaigne and Descartes and between Machiavelli and Hobbes. Working in the limits, origins and ends, of these epicenters, the interpretation proposed of the Kant’s three critiques and of his political writings aims at interpreting him as the highest expression of modernity’s insoluble contradictions in the relation between the universal and the particular. This text’s perspective works in the intimate imbrications among modern subject, modern State and modern international system. Only this way can consolidate its central claim that could be formulated as follows: politics is the production of limits, boundaries and subjectivities in the interaction with otherness. At the end, the text intends to provide with many conscious and unconscious openings, without losing sight that many closures will also be promoted, consciously and unconsciously

[pt] A dissertação se debruça sobre os pensamentos de Immanuel Kant e Michel Foucault a fim de estabelecer uma compreensão sobre as relações que podem ser traçadas entre o elemento da subjetividade e o da política. Tentar-se-á identificar, através do trabalho de Kant, os termos pelos quais o sujeito moderno foi assimilado a um modelo de autonomia que seria sua única garantia de realização plena. Ele será visto como um teórico dos limites, autorizando as fronteiras que separam o que é humano daquilo que não o é, e que o faz justamente ao minimizar a política a uma instrumentalidade técnica a serviço de uma ética universal da lei. Apontando para as impossibilidades constituintes desse modelo, bem como para a insuficiência de uma política enquadrada nesses termos, o artigo passará, então, a uma leitura da obra de Foucault. Nesta, o autor será encontrado negociando nas fronteiras, mas, à diferença de Kant, irá recusar sua estabilização mediante apelos a um universal. Nesse sentido, seu pensamento será investigado a fim de compreender a partir de que chaves torna-se possível pensar a política a partir de esquemas menos totalizantes, movendo-se para além do modelo de um sujeito racional idêntico a si mesmo. / [en] The dissertation turns to the thoughts of Immanuel Kant and Michel Foucault in order to establish a comprehension on the relations that could be traced between the elements of subjectivity and politics. It will try to identify in Kant’s work the terms through which the modern subject was assimilated to a model of autonomy, which would be its only guarantee of fulfillment. He will be seen as a theorist of limits, authorizing the frontiers that separate what is human from what is not, doing it by minimizing politics to a technical instrumentality in favour of a universal ethics of law. By pointing to the impossibilities of this model, as well as to the insufficiency of a politics framed in these terms, the article will move, then, to a reading of Foucault’s oeuvre. Its author will be found negotiating at the frontiers, but, differently from Kant, refusing its stabilization through appeals to a universality. In this sense, his thought will be investigated in order to pin down which keys allow thinking about politics in less totalizing schemes, moving beyond the model of a rational subject identical to itself.

[pt] O presente trabalho tem como objetivo central discutir as experimentações técnicas de Sándor Ferenczi frente aos impasses oriundos de sua clínica com pacientes difíceis . Neste sentido, buscamos apresentar como seus remanejamentos teóricos e reformulações técnicas foram, aos poucos, se distinguindo dos pressupostos básicos da técnica psicanalítica formulada por Freud. Assim, após uma discussão pormenorizada sobre os limites da técnica e da análise nos dois autores, abordamos as inovações de Ferenczi como possíveis norteadores para pensarmos os impasses da clínica contemporânea. Além disso, mostramos como sua obra pode ser tomada como matriz teórica para outros desenvolvimentos conceituais em psicanálise, sobretudo, os de Michael Balint e Donald Winnicott. / [en] The aim of this dissertation is to discuss the technical experiments of Sándor Ferenczi born from his clinic with difficult patients . In order to explain his efforts, we present how his theoretical changes and technique reformulations were gradually distinguishing from the basic knowledge of psychoanalytic technique formulated by Freud. So, after a detailed discussion of the limits of psychoanalytic technique in both authors, we present Ferenczi s innovations as a possible guide to think the difficulties in contemporary clinic. In addition, we explain how his work can be taken as theoretical framework to other conceptual developments in psychoanalysis, especially in the work of Michael Balint and Donald Winnicott.

[pt] A partir da delimitação histórico-temporal do final do século XX aos dias atuais, esta dissertação tem por objetivos abordar a questão do território como uma das mais importantes do nosso tempo, investigar como se encena a experiência do limite e de sua rasura na ficção contemporânea, e analisar narrativas de diferentes campos do saber e do fazer, como o cinema, a literatura e a resenha crítica. Na tentativa de estabelecer o diálogo entre a representação na literatura e em outras formas de expressão das questões relativas ao território, serão analisados o romance Teatro (1998) e o romance Nove Noites (2002), de Bernardo Carvalho, e o filme O invasor (2001), de Beto Brant. / [en] This thesis discusses the question of territory as one of the major issues today, investigates how the limit experience and its erasure are shown in contemporary fiction, and analyzes narratives in such different fields of knowledge and art as film, literature and criticism. In an attempt to set up a dialogue between literature and other forms of expression, Bernardo Carvalho's novels Teatro (1998) and Nove noites (2002) and Beto Brant's movie O invasor (2001) are discussed.

[pt] Esta tese é composta por 3 capítulos. No primeiro capítulo mostro que quando um banco central não é totalmente apoiado financeiramente pelo tesouro e enfrenta uma restrição de solvência, um aumento no tamanho ou uma mudança na composição de seu balanço pode servir como um mecanismo de compromisso em um cenário de armadilha de liquidez. Em particular, quando a taxa de juros de curto prazo está em zero, operações de mercado aberto do banco central que envolvam compras de títulos de longo prazo podem ajudar a mitigar a deflação e recessão sob um equilíbrio de política discricionária. Usando um modelo simples com produto exógeno, mostramos que uma mudança no balanço do banco central, que aumenta seu tamanho e duração, incentiva o banco central a manter as taxas de juros baixas no futuro, a fim de evitar perdas e satisfazer a restrição de solvência, aproximando-se de sua política ótima de commitment. No segundo capítulo da tese, eu testo a validade do novo mecanismo desenvolvido no capítulo 1, incorporando um banco central financeiramente independente em um modelo DSGE de média escala baseado em Smets e Wouters (2007), e calibrando-o para replicar principais características da expansão do tamanho e composição do balanço do Federal Reserve no período pós-2008. Eu observo que os programas QE 2 e 3 geraram efeitos positivos na dinâmica da inflação, mas impacto modesto no hiato do produto. O terceiro capítulo da tese avalia as consequências em termos de bem-estar de regras fiscais simples em um modelo de um pequeno país exportador de commodities com uma parcela da população sem acesso ao mercado financeiro, onde a política fiscal assume a forma de transferências. Uma constatação principal é que as regras orçamentárias equilibradas para as receitas de commodities geralmente superam as regras fiscais mais sofisticadas, em que as receitas de commodities são salvas em um Fundo de Riqueza Soberana. Como os choques nos preços das commodities são tipicamente altamente persistentes, a renda atual das famílias está próxima de sua renda permanente, tornando as regras orçamentárias equilibradas próximas do ideal. / [en] This thesis is composed of 3 chapters. In the first chapter, It s shown that when a central bank is not fully financially backed by the treasury and faces a solvency constraint, an increase in the size or a change in the composition of its balance sheet (quantitative easing - QE) can serve as a commitment device in a liquidity trap scenario. In particular, when the short-term interest rate is at the zero lower bound, open market operations by the central bank that involve purchases of long-term bonds can help mitigate deflation and recession under a discretionary policy equilibrium. Using a simple endowment-economy model, it s shown that a change in the central bank balance sheet, which increases its size and duration, provides an incentive to the central bank to keep interest rates low in the future to avoid losses and satisfy its solvency constraints, approximating its full commitment policy. In the second chapter, the validity of the novel mechanism developed in chapter 1 is tested by incorporating a financiallyindependent central bank into a medium-scale DSGE model based on Smets and Wouters (2007), and calibrating it to replicate key features of the expansion of size and composition of the Federal Reserve s balance sheet in the post-2008 period. I find that the programs QE 2 and 3 generated positive effects on the dynamics of inflation, but mild effects on the output gap. The third chapter of the thesis evaluates the welfare consequences of simple fiscal rules in a model of a small commodity-exporting country with a share of financially constrained households, where fiscal policy takes the form of transfers. The main finding is that balanced budget rules for commodity revenues often outperform more sophisticated fiscal rules where commodity revenues are saved in a Sovereign Wealth Fund. Because commodity price shocks are typically highly persistent, the households current income is close to their permanent income, so commodity price shocks don t need smoothing, making simple balanced budget rules close to optimal.

[pt] A questão dos limites vem ganhando espaço no cotidiano de inúmeras escolas, requisitando a intervenção do psicólogo escolar. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi verificar como um grupo de vinte professoras do município de Rio Bonito/RJ utiliza os discursos vigentes sobre limites em escolas de contexto urbano e rural. A bibliografia contemplou autores que abordavam assuntos ligados aos limites, às transformações pelas quais passa o mundo contemporâneo e à mútua influência nas práticas educacionais, na escola, na família. Através de entrevista, gravada e transcrita, cada professora forneceu uma definição para limites, além de descrever suas experiências relacionadas ao tema, que diziam respeito à importância de colocar limites na escola, às estratégias desenvolvidas, às dificuldades encontradas, às características de um aluno sem limites, bem como aspectos da relação com a família dos alunos. A análise se baseou em sete tópicos, retirados das perguntas formuladas. As vivências relatadas pelas professoras indicam que o psicólogo escolar, ao lidar com limites, deve considerar as concepções de limites subjacentes à demanda que lhe é dirigida e incluir as especificidades da comunidade escolar situada em um contexto urbano ou rural. / [en] Limits are questions that take place nowadays in many schools. It frequently requires the intervention of the school psychologist. The objective of this work was to verify how a group of twenty teachers from Rio Bonito/RJ use current speeches about limits in urban and rural schools. The bibliography was based on authors that approach subjects about limits, changes in contemporary world and reciprocal influence in educational practices, school and family. By interview, recorded and transcribed, each teacher gave her definition of limits. She also described her experiences about the theme, relating the importance of putting limits in school, developed strategies, difficults met, characteristics of limitless student as well as aspects of the relations with the students` family. The analysis were based on seven topics taken from formulated questions. Experiences related by teachers suggest that to work with limits, school psychologist should consider the conceptions of limits presented on demand for him, including peculiarities in community school situated in urban or rural setting.

[pt] Este trabalho de pesquisa se dedica a investigar a realidade material da loucura através da escuta dos corpos inseridos no espaço de atendimento, Casa Verde, localizada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A partir de uma percepção particular sobre o que se entende por espaço e trazendo o conceito de materialidade, objetiva observar o que vem se configurando no âmbito do atendimento à saúde mental desde a ocorrência do Movimento Antimanicomial, atentando-se não somente para oque se configurou espacialmente, mas principalmente exercendo um olhar sobreoenquadramento da loucura no corpus social. Recorrendo à metodologiafenomenológica e à criativa, desafiou-se a reunir em sua estrutura, narrativa e atividade tanto a teoria quanto a prática de seu posicionamento de abertura para os limites e tensionamentos que emergiram no contato com o campo. Tomando como base principalmente os trabalhos de Michel Foucault, Roland Barthes e Judith Butler, realiza um esforço para propor novas formas de questionamento acerca das condições e operações que reconhecem e validam modos de vida na contemporaneidade, para assim incitar mobilizações em seus dispositivos normativos. / [en] This research is dedicated to the listening of bodies belonging to the material reality of Madness found in the space of mental health attendance, Casa Verde, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. From a particular perception about what we understand as space and bringing the concept of materiality, aims to observe what has been developing in the scope of mental health attendance since the occurrence of the Anti-asylum Movement, regarding not only what has been spatially constructed, but mostly gazing how Madness has been socially framed since then. Drawing upon phenomenological and creative methodologies, this work challenges itself in order to gather in its own structure, narrative and activity the theory and practice of its openness to limits and tensions that emerged during contact with the field. Michel Foucault s, Roland Barthes, and Judith Butler s works were the primary theoretical ground used to propose new ways of questioning the conditions and operations that recognize and validate contemporary ways of living, in order to rouse mobilizations in its normative devices.
