Considerando a
investigada. / [en] This thesis investigates the discourse of emotion in
business interaction through the analysis of letters from
clients addressed to a health plan. To this purpose, it uses
the framework derived from politeness theory and from the
anthropology of emotions. Given that emotion is a cultural
artifact and a discursive practice, this study has observed
that the fulfillment or the break of the rights and duties
of participants (both clients and company) affects the
expression of emotion at the same time that it reveals
aspects of Brazilian culture in the interaction analysed.

[en] FORMAL ESPECIFICITIES IN THE ORGANIZATION OF REPPAIR: A STUDY OF ORIENTATION OF SPEECH FOR THE INSTITUTIONAL ACTIVITY / [pt] ESPECIFICIDADES FORMAIS NA ORGANIZAÇÃO DO REPARO: UM ESTUDO DA ORIENTAÇÃO DA FALA PARA A ATIVIDADE INSTITUCIONALBEGMA TAVARES BARBOSA 25 June 2004 (has links)
as regularidades formais observáveis nesse contexto
as tarefas institucionais.
[en] Acknowledging the importance of investigation on new forms
of verbal interaction in modern societies, this work
investigates a context of speech which is unique due to the
direct influency of the burocracy and technology on the
regulation of exchanges between speakers: the Call Center
service. Based on conversational analysis which
systematizes verbal behaviour of interactants when in state
of conversation, we intend to describe formal patterns in
this peculiar context of production of speech, highlighting
the deviations concerning canonical conversational pattern,
showing the verbal actions through which the participants
elaborate their institutional tasks. Our focus of
investigation covers the system of reppair. The search for
especificities regarding the processes of (re)formulation of
speech in interaction reflects our interest in
characterizing our context of production of speech aiming
to broaden our understanding of the nature of the exchange
of information and the construction on interactivity among
participants in this scenario.

[en] WHY ARE WE, THE 1701 CLASS, HAPPY IN OUR ENGLISH LESSONS? LEARNERS AND TEACHER LOOK FOR UNDERTSTANDING THE QUALITY OF LIFE THEY LIVE IN THEIR CLASSROOM / [pt] POR QUE SOMOS FELIZES NAS AULAS DE INGLÊS DA TURMA 1701? ALUNOS E PROFESSORA BUSCANDO ENTENDER A QUALIDADE DE VIDA QUE VIVENCIAM EM SUA SALA DE AULAROSA MARIA VIEIRA RODRIGUES 25 February 2010 (has links)
Neste trabalho conjunto, a
vivenciados. / [en] Inspired by the investigative and pedagogic approach of Exploratory Practice
(Allwright, 2003), this study aims at understanding why the 1701 class feels happy
during their classes of English as a foreign language, in the 7th grade of a municipal
school in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In this participatory practitioner research, the
teacher-researcher and the learners in one of her English classes work to understand
the quality of classroom life that they co-construct during their pleasant pedagogic
interaction. The research was carried out through a pedagogic activity with
exploratory potential. This work for understanding searched for the understandings of
all the participants regarding the quality of their classroom teaching-learning
experience. The analysis of the exploratory discourse produced by the students and
the teacher’s reflective narrative of her personal professional experience was based on
Bakhtin’s (2003) notions of historicity, dialogism, utterance and voice as well
as the notion of affect, as discussed by Arnold & Brown (1999) and Allwright &
Bailey (1991). The understandings reached by the teacher-researcher about her
professional experiences and the reflexive analysis developed in this study suggest
that the 1701 class is a space shared by people with different knowings and
pedagogical beliefs, who echo demonstrations of affect. The quality of this group’s
enjoyable classroom life appears to be co-constructed through the Good-mornings!
shared in the beginning of their classes, through the teacher’s personal characteristics
and knowledge-base, through the socio-affective relations established among the
people in the classroom, and through the cognitive processes developed.

[en] The research that I present in this work was motivated by my experiences in a scientific initiation (IC) project and as a participant of a research group during graduation. Guided by the ethical and methodological-theoretical basis of Exploratory Practice (PE) (ALLWRIGHT; HANKS, 2009; MILLER, 2012; 2013), its principles and its continuous work for understanding (MILLER et al., 2008), I (re)invited some colleagues, today teachers, to seek, together, understandings about the puzzle Why was participating in the discussion group so significant to me?. So, the times we had in different research and discussion groups in what we took part during our process of becoming teachers motivated and boosted a warm exploratory conversation (MORAES BEZERRA; NUNES, 2013), generating different posters, which organized our discussion in small presentations and guided our quest for understanding. In our discussion, we realized that aspects such as Quality of Life (ALLWRIGHT, 2008; MILLER, 2010), Affection (ZEMBYLAS, 2003; 2005) and Socioconstruction of identity(ies) (MOITA LOPES, 2001; BASTOS, 2004; 2005) performed as been of great importance in our formation and as elements which must be observed and discussed in teacher training. They also made us build intelligibility(ies) about the sustainability of Exploratory Practice s work for understanding in academic research and teaching (MILLER, 2013), as well as to understand that every teacher is a researcher (ALLWRIGHT, 2016).

[en] BETWEEN THE ISOLATION AND THE INFORMALITY: LIMITS AND CHALLENGES TO THE PRACTICE OF REFLECTION WITHIN TEACHER FORMATION / [pt] ENTRE O ISOLAMENTO E A INFORMALIDADE: LIMITES E DESAFIOS PARA A PRÁTICA DA REFLEXÃO NA FORMAÇÃO DOCENTEMONICA MACHADO NEVES RAMOS 08 May 2015 (has links)
As
[en] It is recurrent the thinking that the school is by excellence the locus of
teacher formation, and that it occurs within a process of reflection on the practice.
It is in this context that the professional identity has been constituted, being the
teacher the subject of their own formation. Based upon this idea, this work aims at
looking into the formation in order to perceive how the reflective process takes
place into practice. The investigation took place with professionals from the
Municipal Education System of Armação dos Búzios through observations of the
practices carried out in two classrooms, and meetings devoted to the continuous
formation offered by the Secretariat of Municipal Education. Nine professionals
were interviewed, being six of them teachers, a teacher in charge of formation and
two school supervisors. The observations in the classrooms occurred at two
different schools: a school considered to be one of the oldest within the Municipal
System and the other one regarded as being one of the newest ones. Without the
intention of establishing a juxtaposition of theory and practice, the work intends to
perceive in which way occurs the dialogue between the classroom time and the
meetings of formation, identifying the place of the reflective practice within the
teacher formation. The dialogue between the observations and listening had as
theoretical basis the interlocution with António Nóvoa, Maurice Tardif, Rui
Canário, João Formosinho and Philippe Perrenoud, among other authors whose
works are within this scope. The work points to the necessity of the overcoming
of the outstanding presence of the school shape in the meetings of formation and
in the relations which take place inside the school, where there has been
naturalizing the impossibility of the teacher to assume their place as a subject and
reflect on the practices that, significantly, should contribute towards the formation
of their teacher identity.

[pt] Pesquisas na área educacional (Kleiman, 2004; Nunes,
1997; Amorim, 1997; Soares, 1998; INAF, 2005; IBGE, 2003; Collelo, 2003;
As
[en] Studies in the educational field (Kleiman, 2004; Nunes,
1997; Amorim, 1997; Soares, 1998; INAF, 2005; IBGE, 2003; Collelo, 2003;
Scholze, 2004; Rojo, 2005, Morais, 2005) indicate that Brazilian students
have, by and large, a low level of proficiency in reading. Research concerned
about reading/literacy tends to focus on the readers´ performance, on the text
itself or on the role of school without paying attention to the beliefs of those
who are involved in the teaching-learning process. As it falls to school to
promote literacy as decoding and literacy functionally interpreted as the capacity to use
language in multiple contexts, we developed an interdisciplinary study in the
area of Applied Linguistics based on sociointeractive and sociocognitive
principles that allowed us to seek in collocations information to identify
Idealized Cognitive Models (ICMs - Lakoff, 1987) discursively projected by the
teachers about the nature of the reading process. The use of questionnaires, verbal
protocols and interviews made possible the discussion about how the teachers´ ICMs
may influence their pedagogical practice as well as what the relationship they
may have with autonomy, collaboration and social inclusion, as advocated by the PCNs.

[en] SO I FELT BUTTERFLIES IN MY STOMACH: ON STAGE, THE HEAD OF THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT: A STUDY ABOUT IDENTITY AND EVALUATION / [pt] ENTÃO ME BATEU UM GRANDE FRIO NA BARRIGA: EM CENA, O PROFESSOR COORDENADOR DE INGLÊS: UM ESTUDO SOBRE IDENTIDADE E AVALIAÇÃOCÉLIA ELISA ALVES DE MAGALHÃES 07 August 2013 (has links)
[en] This study aims to investigate the identity construction of the Head of the English Department, with a focus on evaluation. The theoretical framework is based on the concept of identity construction according to socio constructionist (Bhabha, 1994; Bucholtz and Hall, 2003, 2005; Moita Lopes, 2002, 2003) and sociological (Bauman, 2005; Giddens, 1999; Hall, 1992) theories that conceive identity building as a process developed in discourse during interaction. For an analysis of the interaction, the notions of frame (Goffman, 1974), knowledge schemas (Tannen and Wallet ([1987] 2002), footing (Goffman, [1979] 2002), and face (Goffman, [1967] 2011) are considered. Evaluation is approached from the following perspectives: the labovian theory of narrative (Labov and Waletzky,1967; Labov,1972), the socio constructionist notion of narrative as social practice (Bastos, 2005; Bruner, 1997; Cortazzi and Jim, 2001; Linde,1993; Mishler, 1999; Moita Lopes, 2003), the Socio Cognitive Theory of Metaphore (Gibbs, 1994) and Appraisal Theory (Martin, 2003; White, ([2001] 2012). This research, which follows a qualitative-interpretative approach, was carried out at a school from the private sector in Rio de Janeiro. Apart from the teacher researcher, four English teachers participated in this work as well as the Head of the English Department and the principal and vice-principal of the institution. Results show that during the interaction participants re-signify their interpretations with respect to the identities of the Head of the English Department, who is regarded as a mediator or manager of processes, situations and relationships. The data reveals that affection, judgment and appreciation permeate the Head of the English Department identity construction, which is also constituted by power relations and influenced by the institutional identity.

[en] PAIN AND PLEASURE AT THE MUSICAL PRACTICE / [pt] DOR E PRAZER NA PRÁTICA MUSICALRODRIGO ALCANTARA DE SOUZA 22 October 2013 (has links)
tratando do estado de flow e da cultura da dedicação presente no meio musical;
respeito do tema tratado.
[en] Despite being a little divulged issue both publicly and within the musical
class, is high the number of musicians who suffer from pains, discomforts and
even injuries and other health problems associated with the musical activity.
About this, have been observed in recent decades, a growing interest from
researchers, especially in the health area, which means there is already a
considerable literature on the subject. However, there are still many knowledge
gaps that need to be filled in order to make the musical practice (professional or
not) less harmful. This study, which has an exploratory character, investigates
this issue with a sample of 39 instrumentalists from Manaus, emphasizing the
emotional aspects involved in the practice and how they can interfere in the
perception of the constraints of these individuals. One of the main points
discussed is that musical practice would be a favorable situation to occurrence
of flow state (CSIKSZENTMIHALYI, 1997) what could justify the fact that many
musicians don’t even realize the pain and injuries during the execution of the
activity. It was applied at these respondents an instrument of data collection
consisted on four parts: a questionnaire with general information about musical
practice and constraints; a process of ordination of cards containing
emotions/feelings involved in the practiced; a series of assessments scales
about the flow state and about the dedication culture that exists in the musical
environment; and a final interview seeking for more deeper opinions from
musicians about the issue. The collected data were crossed and analyzed and
the results indicate, among other conclusions, that musical practice from this
sample, has similar characteristics from other where flow state is found, and still
contain the importance of emotional matters in the practice, according to the
participants musicians.

[en] This dissertation investigates how police officers from a Unidade de Polícia Paificadora, Pacifying Police Unit, perceive their professional practice and the risks and relationships that shape and are shaped by this community practice. Based on the analysis of rhetorical discourse seen in five research interviews, the goal was to contribute to the understanding of this new law enforcement model in a context that presents specific demands that were just recently organized. An effort was made to bring contributions to critical thinking about the training courses that these professionals attend. Results show that the new generation of police officers contrast to street policing and more experienced police work force. It is this way because there is a higher risk of activities and a greater level of effectiveness in serving citizens. On the other hand it also shows the factors that will make the success of the model more difficult, such as: lack of community support, acknowledgement from their superiors, the State, Civil Police and society as a whole.

do Movimento
Humanista no Rio de Janeiro, inclusive a autora desta
dissertação como pesquisadorapraticante,
está orientada pelos princípios da Prática Exploratória
(Allwright, 2003).
construídas as identidades
coletivas (Snow, 2001); c)
estrutura avaliativa secundária em narrativas (Antonio,
2004) e coerência global e
temática no estudo de narrativas (Agar e Hobbs, 1982). O
trabalho-para-entendimento
[en] This research, which includes all members of a Humanist
Movement team in
Rio de Janeiro, including the author of this dissertation
as a practitioner-researcher,
follows the principles of Exploratory Practice (Allwright,
2003). It represents work
for understanding how identities are co-constructed while
these people perform their
function as mentors, who are responsible for the
construction of work teams. The data
for the analysis have been constructed based on
Potentially Exploratory Activities
that are part of the team´s daily routine, as well as
field diary notes. These data have
generated narratives (Bastos, 2005) based on the learning
processes that each member
represented from their experience. For the analysis, the
following concepts were used:
a) identity in practice (Wenger, 1998); personal, social
and collective identities
(Snow, 2001); c) secondary evaluation structure in
narratives (Antonio, 2004) and
global and theme coherence in the study of narratives
(Agar and Hobbs, 1982). The
work for understanding has generated the proposed
understanding by which the
stories presented in this research served as a
compensation of the participants´
personal difficulties, besides having the role of
strengthening our collective identity
while shared. The data also suggests emerging themes such
as the question of
otherness, the question of internal hierarchy and image as
structuring reality (Cobos,
1999), besides highlighting discursive tendencies related
to the coherence of the
team´s action. The reflection generated through this work
enabled participants to raise
their awareness regarding their identity construction and
to create different
participation environments in joint reflection on their
attitudes and beliefs.
