[pt] Como compreender a especificidade da vivência da fé cristã no Brasil, um país formado por uma convergência - nem sempre pacífica - de uma variedade de povos, culturas, tradições? Como pensar e dizer a fé a partir deste contexto, lugar concreto onde um projeto secular de unificação nacional deve assumir os desafios de suas origens plurais e mestiças? Como o discurso teológico foi construindo um caminho próprio de compreensão e de alimentação da fé em terras brasileiras, na busca de autenticidade e coerência em relação aos desafios contextuais, ao modo de vida e à expressão da fé deste povo? Para responder a essas perguntas, este estudo volta seu olhar para um debate teológico-metodológico inter pares, provocado e catalisado por Clodovis Boff. Num primeiro momento, estudam-se os pontos centrais da reflexão epistemológica deste autor, destacando suas convicções e suas inflexões. Num segundo momento, examinam-se os principais elementos que estão em jogo no debate teológico recente no Brasil, situando-os numa discussão intraeclesial - em diálogo com textos do magistério católico - e numa dinâmica sociocultural mais ampla - em diálogo com textos da sociologia brasileira contemporânea. Uma hermenêutica da brasilidade, que considera o lugar do barroco na formação social brasileira, amplia os horizontes deste debate, revelando uma dinâmica de encarnação que busca gerar, em todo tempo e lugar, Vida em abundância. / [fr] Comment comprendre la spécificité de la vie chrétienne au Brésil, un pays formé par une convergence – pas toujours pacifique - de peuples, de cultures et de traditions ? Comment penser et dire la foi à partir de ce contexte, lieu concret où un projet séculier d unification nationale doit relever les défis de ses origines plurielles et métisses ? Comment le discours théologique a-t-il construit son propre chemin de compréhension et d alimentation de la foi en terres brésiliennes, à la recherche d authenticité et de cohérence à l égard des défis contextuels, du mode de vie et de l expression de la foi du peuple brésilien ? Pour répondre à ces questions, notre étude tourne son regard vers un débat théologico-méthodologique inter pares, provoqué et catalysé par Clodovis Boff. Dans un premier moment, nous étudions les points centraux de la réflexion épistémologique de cet auteur, en mettant en relief ses convictions et ses inflexions. Dans un deuxième temps, nous examinons les principaux enjeux du débat théologique récent au Brésil, en le situant dans une discussion intra-ecclésiale - en dialogue avec des textes du magistère catholique - et dans une dynamique socioculturelle plus large - en dialogue avec des textes de la sociologie brésilienne contemporaine. Une herméneutique de la brésilité , qui considère le lieu du baroque dans la formation sociale brésilienne, élargit les horizons de notre débat, en révélant une dynamique d incarnation qui cherche à engendrer, en tout temps et en tout lieu, Vie en abondance.

[pt] A teologia de Karl Barth se caracteriza por afirmar o caráter fenomenal da manifestação de Deus na história. Ela só é verdadeiramente Palavra de Deus quando toca existencialmente o ser humano. É a palavra que acontece a cada instante levando o indivíduo a uma crise e consequentemente a uma tomada de posição. Ela acontece plenamente em Jesus Cristo, Aquele que propicia o encontro entre o eterno e o temporal. Neste trabalho o autor procurará mostrar a influência desta teologia nos teólogos latino-americanos especialmente naqueles pertencentes à Teologia da Libertação. O conceito barthiano de palavra como evento encontra sua correspondência na práxis histórica que privilegia a ação antes que a teoria. Barth trabalha com o método prática maior teoria maior prática. Ele parte da experiência e faz da teologia um segundo momento na prática eclesial. A partir daí retorna para a prática. Esse método encontra-se presente na metodologia teológica da América Latina. / [en] Karl Barth’s theology is characterized by the affirmation of the phenomenal character of the manifestation of God in history. It is only truly the Word of God when it touches the human being existentially. It’s the word that happens at each moment taking the individual to a crisis and, consequently, to take a position. It happens fully in Jesus Christ, the One who provides the meeting of the eternal and the temporal. In this work the author will try to show the influence of this theology in the Latin-American theologians, especially in those belonging to the Theology of Liberation. The barthian concept of the word as an event finds its equivalent in the historical praxis that gives privilege to the action over the theory. Barth works with method practice more theory more practice, starting from the experience and making theology a second moment in ecclesial practice, returning to practice from this point. This method is present in Latin America’s theological methodology.

[pt] Esta pesquisa procura demonstrar o papel e a importância da relação de relevância entre Teologia e História na fase inicial da Teologia da Libertação. A partir da análise do conteúdo dos encontros de San Lorenzo del Escorial (1972) e da Cidade do México (1975) busca-se verificar a interpretação da História, da Teologia e de sua relação. Constata-se que nestes encontros a Teologia e a História são interpretadas a partir de uma perspectiva fundamental que configurará metodologicamente a Teologia da Libertação. Para os primeiros teólogos da libertação a Teologia e a História desempenham uma relação de recíproca relevância. Esta relação tem papel e importância significativos para o método da Teologia da Libertação. Buscar uma Teologia que seja relevante para a História latino americana implica considerar esta História relevante para o fazer teológico. A Teologia nasce dos desafios, anseios e questões fundamentais que emergem da inserção, engajamento e compromisso dos cristãos na transformação libertadora da História. Trata-se de uma Teologia comprometida com as urgências, desafios, tensões e anseios da História concreta da América Latina em condição de opressão, dependência e subdesenvolvimento. Para atingir seus objetivos a pesquisa é composta de 6 capítulos. Nos dois primeiros busca-se situar a gênese e nascimento da Teologia da Libertação em seu contexto social, político, cultural, econômico, religioso, eclesial e teológico. Nos capítulos 3-6 busca-se verificar a interpretação proposta nos encontros sobre a Teologia, a História e a importância e o papel de sua relação de relevância recíproca para o método de uma Teologia libertadora. / [de] Diese Forschung versucht darzustellen die Rolle und Wichtigkeit des Verhaltnis der Relevanz zwischen Theologie und Geschichte am Anfang der Theologie der Befreiung. Laut der Analyse des Inhalts des Treffens von San Lorenzo del Escorial (1972) und der Stadt Mexiko (1975), versucht man die Interpretation der Geschichte und der Theologie festzustellen. Fur die ersten Theologen der Befreiung, spielt die Theologie und die Geschichte eine Beziehung gegenseitiger Relevanz. Dieses Verhaltnis hat eine Wichtigkeit und spielt eine grosse Rolle fur die Methode der Theologie der Befreiung. Eine Theologie, die fur die lateinamerikanische Geschichte relevant ist, fordert die Relevanz dieser Geschichte fur das Machen der Theologie. Die Theologie entsteht von den Herausforderungen, Streben und Fragen, die von der Einfugung, Engagement und Kompromiss der Christen durch die Verwandlung und Befreiung der Geschichte auftaucht. Es handelt sich um eine Theologie, die sich mit Notwendigkeit, Herausforderung, Spannung und Streben der konkreten Geschichte des Lateinamerikas, unter der Bedingung von Unterdruckung, Abhangigkeit und Unterentwicklung festlegt. Um das Ziel zu erreichen, entsteht die Forschung von 6 Kapiteln. Im ersten und zweiten Kapitel wird die Genese und Geburt der Theologie der Befreiung in ihrem sozial, politisch, kulturell, wirtschaftlich, religiose, ekklesial und theologisch Kontext dargestellt. Die 3 - 6 Kapiteln versuchen die vorgeschlagene Interpretation bei der oben gennanten Begegnungen uber die Theologie und die Geschichte darzustellen. Es wird auch versucht zu analysieren die Wichtigkeit und welche Rolle, die die gegenseitige Relevanz fur die Methode einer befreiende Theologie spielt.

[pt] Nosso trabalho teve por finalidade analisar como se manifesta a interação teologia/educação nas atividades e procedimentos da escola católica. Para isto, localizamos escolas católicas que possuíam teólogos inseridos em suas equipe profissionais ou que tenham tido assessoria de teólogos durante um certo tempo. Interessava-nos saber como é percebida a presença do bacharel de teologia no cotidiano escola. Por outro lado, também procuramos perceber se o tema da escola em pastoral evidenciado pela linha da Educação para a Justiça e para a Liberdade era, ainda, uma proposta em vias de consolidação ou após 35 anos de seu anúncio tornou-se algo ultrapassado. Para cumprir o nosso objetivo, realizamos entrevistas semi- estruturadas com as direções, os professores de religião e teólogos que trabalham em escolas católicas; além de termos estudado os documentos das escolas (projetos políticos- pedagógicos, regimentos etc). Constatamos que há novos desafios a serem respondidos pela escola católica que deseja atuar em pastoral, dentre eles: o pluralismo religioso, o secularismo e a nova estrutura familiar. À nova problemática da escola católica a teologia, através da figura do bacharel, tem muito a colaborar. Os/as teólogos presentes nos diferentes colégios católicos que pesquisamos têm trabalhado em permanente diálogo com os setores pedagógicos, facilitando a real construção de uma comunidade educativa. Esta realidade, leva-nos a acreditar na fecundidade do diálogo entre a teologia e a educação. / [en] This study analyzes the interaction between Theology and Education in the activities and procedures of Catholic schools. With this objective, the study was carried out in Catholic schools with theologians amongst their staff or acting as consultants for a period of time. The principal focus was in understanding how a university graduate with a Theology degree is perceived. A related interest was in finding out whether the theme of pastoral schooling, grounded in the Theology of Liberation and emphasizing education for justice and freedom, is still a potent force, 35 years after its initiation, or has become obsolete. In order to achieve this objective, interviews were conducted with the headmasters, the teachers of religious studies and the theologians who work in these Catholic schools. School documents, such as the political-pedagogic project, rules and norms etc., were also analyzed. The study shows that new themes have been developed by Catholic schools wanting to develop pastoral work, including religious pluralism, secularism and the new family structure. The conclusion of the study is that Theology, through the figure of the university graduate with a bachelors degree in Theology, has a lot to contribute to the new problems faced by Catholic schools. Theologians, acting in the schools studied, have maintained a permanent dialogue with pedagogic themes, thus facilitating the construction of a real educational community. This leads us to believe in the fruitfulness of a dialogue between Theology and Education.

Nosso trabalho acadêmico concentra-se na esperança das mesmas e na promessa de resgatá-las como chave de leitura hermenêutica teológica. Aspira-se reconhecer que na Teologia de Jon Sobrino existe uma urgente necessidade do zelo teológico centrado no Mistério da presença misericordiosa de Deus na história. Neste sentido, amplia-se o olhar para os novos rostos de vítimas na realidade Latino- Americana e Caribenha que emergem da Globalização. E com a convicção de que fazer teologia a partir de testemunhas enriquece e aprofunda a teologia de textos, o ensejo é registrar e aclamar o rosto humano de Deus nas vítimas, enfocando a ética, a mística e a profecia à luz da teologia de Jon Sobrino. / [en] The God of Jesus Christ calls upon us to opt for the victims of this world. Our essay focuses on the hope of these victims and on the promise of rescuing them as the key of theological hermeneutic reading. We aspire to acknowledge that in Jon Sobrino’s theology there is an urgent need for the theological concern, centered in the Mystery of God’s merciful presence throughout history. With that in mind, attention given to the new victims brought up by globalization in the reality of Latin America and Caribbean must be amplified. Our aim is to register and proclaim the human face of God in the victims, focusing on ethics, mystique and in the prophecy in the light of Jon Sobrino’s theology, with the conviction that making theology from witnesses enriches and deepens the text’s theology.

[pt] Um papa do fim do mundo, uma teologia do terceiro mundo e uma Igreja para todo o mundo propõe uma análise da possibilidade para a Igreja do terceiro milênio a partir da eleição de um argentino vindo do fim do mundo como papa, e de sua experiência como sacerdote pós-conciliar. Nesse lugar do qual veio o papa Francisco, as terras da América Latina e do Caribe, também se produziu uma singular teologia ao final do século XX, que refletia as condições sociais, políticas, econômicas e culturais do povo latino-americano: a teologia da libertação. Esta dissertação apresenta uma biografia de Jorge Mario Bergoglio, um panorama histórico da Argentina que recebeu os imigrantes europeus no início do século XX, entre eles a família do futuro papa, e o impacto da escolha do nome Francisco. Na sequência, traz a história do desenvolvimento da teologia no Novo Mundo, que culminou com o surgimento da teologia da libertação, suas principais ideias e, por fim, analisa as propostas eclesiológicas do papa Francisco apresentadas na Evangelii Gaudium, em consonância com as principais temáticas da teologia da libertação, sua defesa dos pobres, explorados e desfavorecidos como projeto de missão da Igreja e, principalmente, sua percepção da necessidade de atualizar a Igreja (retomando as originais propostas do Concílio Vaticano II especialmente concretizadas em Medellín), para um mundo que hoje se descortina plural e crítico. / [en] A pope from the end of the world, a theology of the third world and a Church for the whole world proposes an analysis of the possibility for the third millennium Church as from the election of an Argentinian coming from the end of the world as pope and as of his experience as a post-conciliar priest. In this place where pope Francis came from, the lands of Latin America and the Caribbean, a singular theology also took place at the end of the twentieth century, reflecting the social, political, economic and cultural conditions of the Latin American people: the liberation theology. This dissertation presents a biography of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, a historical panorama of Argentina that received European immigrants in the early twentieth century, including the family of the future pope, and the impact of the choice of the name Francisco. It then traces the history of the development of theology in the New World culminating in the emergence of liberation theology and its main ideas. Finally, analyses the ecclesiological proposals of pope Francis presented in the Evangelii Gaudium in accordance with the main themes of the liberation theology, his defense of the poor, the exploited and the disadvantaged people as a missionary project of the Church and, mainly, his perception of the necessity to update the Church (taking up the original proposals of the Second Vatican Council, especially the ones concretised in Medellin) to a world that unveils itself as plural and critical.

[pt] A Teologia da Criança é o campo de pesquisa que tem como sujeito teológico o ser humano de pouca idade e denuncia o adultocentrismo como estrutura de opressão. O centro de toda construção teológica se estabelece ao redor e a partir da figura da criança. A pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar a relação entre a experiência de Deus e a valorização da infância, sinalizando a existência de uma ligação estreita entre um e outro. A experiência com o Mistério ganha novos contornos a partir da mística singular das crianças, bem como a infância adquire novas cores a partir da revelação desse Mistério em Jesus Cristo. Os pequeninos são a parábola que as Escrituras utilizam para falar sobre Deus, a vida cristã e os vulneráveis desse mundo, transcendendo assim a razão, a instituição e o consumo como lógica adultocentrica e propondo a mística, a liberdade e a generosidade como alternativa para se fazer como criança. Os adultos podem e devem reconhecer nas crianças um caminho para a experiência real de Deus. / [en] Theology of the child is the research field which has as theological subject the earlier-phases human beings and which denounced the adultcentrism as an oppression structure. The core of all theological construction is established around and from the figure of a child. The research has as its main objective to analyze the relation between experiencing God and the appreciation of childhood, pointing out the existence of a close relationship between them. The experience with Mystery assumes new perspectives through the peculiar, mystic worldview of the children. Also, childhood acquires new colors through the revelation of this Mystery in Jesus Christ. The little ones are the parable which are used by Scriptures to talk about God, Christian life and the vulnerable people of this world, transcending as such the reason, the institution and the consumption as adultcentric logic and proposing the mysticism, freedom and generosity as an alternative to become like children. Adults can and should recognize in children a way to really experiencing God.

In light of the empirical experience, it is a responsible decision to mirror God’s Compassion and Mercy towards the victims of history, which, in an engagingly life, allows us to take on the burden of reality, carry it and take charge of its liberating transformation. This means, making theology from witnesses enriches and deepens the theology of texts. Therefore, it becomes relevant to believe in order to understand, as well as to understand in order to believe. This Doctoral Thesis, God s Compassion and Mercy. An ethical-mystic-prophetic dimension of Jon Sobrino s Theology focuses on their hope and the promise to rescue them as a key to theological hermeneutic reading. We recognize and affirm that in Jon Sobrino s theology there is an urgent need for theological zeal centred in the mystery of the merciful presence of God in history. In this sense, it broadens his gaze to the new faces of victims around the world.

[pt] Esta pesquisa busca apresentar um panorama geral da maneira como o corpo está presente e é refletido na teologia da libertação latino-americana. Partimos da antropologia teológica desenvolvida neste continente, com o marco referencial metodológico da opção preferencial pelos pobres a partir da análise de conteúdo bibliográfico pertinente ao assunto. Para desenvolver o panorama deste tema, empreendemos numa jornada de contextualização da gênese desta teologia latino-americana desde a colonização, passando pelo Concílio Vaticano II, e chegando às formulações próprias da TdL, apontando para a presença do corpo e a luta pela justiça e dignidade. Em seguida, embarcamos num mergulho pelas ramificações consequentes desta TdL, demonstrando como o corpo é o fio condutor que diferencia estas teologias periféricas e é também o que justifica suas militâncias políticas e sociais, trazendo um enfoque especial sobre a teologia feminista que, com a presença do corpo da mulher na teologia, traz grandes contribuições para a teologia, a Igreja e a sociedade como um todo. Por último, fazendo uma colheita de toda esta caminhada, demonstramos a intrínseca relação entre corpo e espírito, pela chave de leitura da cristologia e da espiritualidade na TdL. Não esgotamos o assunto daquilo que poderia ser uma teologia do corpo latino-americana, mas esperamos com esta pesquisa apontar para o corpo como a espinha dorsal de nossa TdL que, ao se preocupar com a realidade concreta dos pobres, oprimidos, vulneráveis e injustiçados está, na verdade, se preocupando justamente com seus corpos que sofrem a pobreza, a opressão, a violência e as injustiças. / [en] This research seeks to present an overview of the way the body is present and reflected in Latin American liberation theology. We set from the theological anthropology developed on this continent, with the methodological reference of the preferential option for the poor based on the analysis of the bibliographic content relevant to the subject. To develop the overview of this theme, we have embarked on a journey of contextualization of the genesis of this Latin American theology since colonization, through the Second Vatican Council, and arriving at the formulations specific to Latin-American liberation theology, pointing to the presence of the body and struggle for justice and dignity. Then, we dive into the consequent ramifications of this liberation theology, demonstrating how the body is the guiding thread that differentiates these peripheral theologies and what justifies their political and social activism, bringing a special focus to feminist theology that, with women s body presence in theology, brings great contributions to theology, the Church and society as a whole. Finally, harvesting this entire journey, we demonstrate the intrinsic relationship between body and spirit, through the interpretation of Christology and spirituality in liberation theology. We have not exhausted the subject of what could be a Latin American theology of the body, but we hope to present the body as the backbone of our liberation theology which, when concerned with the concrete reality of the poor, oppressed, vulnerable and wronged people, is in fact worrying precisely about their bodies that suffer poverty, oppression, violence, and injustices.

[pt] A pesquisa apresenta os principais temas do pensamento teológico-político de Johann Baptist Metz que servem de matriz para repensar a responsabilidade e a práxis da teologia fundamental. Tal pensamento não apenas aborda a questão do sofrimento humano, mas busca fundamentar o compromisso da Teologia Política, da Igreja e do Cristianismo, como um elemento fundante do projeto salvífico de Deus na pessoa de Jesus Cristo. A estrutura da dissertação é composta por três partes. Iniciando com a breve biografia do autor, discute-se o termo Nova Teologia Política que passa por uma mudança hermenêutica resgatando-a como eficaz instrumento teológico. O segundo bloco se dedica a aplicabilidade da Teologia Fundamental, partindo das questões que envolvem o tema da teodiceia no contexto pós iluminista. A última parte ocupa-se da Memoria Passionis; a solidariedade com o sofrimento alheio não pode permitir que as dores sejam esquecidas, bem como a morte daqueles que sofrem não deve ficar sem sentido. A dissertação procura apresentar o pensamento de Johann Baptist Metz destacando três importantes grupos temáticos que por certo não pretendem ser exaustivos, mas indicativos. O pensamento do autor tem um papel importante no percurso do cristianismo. Sua Teologia Política é grandemente relevante e atual para se pensar teologicamente as questões injustas da sociedade, tais como a desigualdade e a crescente migração dos povos. Espera-se que o presente trabalho possa suscitar o interesse de aprofundamento no pensamento deste profícuo autor, que em muito tem para colaborar para a teologia da América Latina e do mundo. / [en] The research presents the main themes of the theological-political thought of Johann Baptist Metz that serves as a matrix for rethinking the responsibility and praxis of fundamental theology. Such thinking not only addresses the issue of human suffering, but seeks to ground the commitment of Political Theology, the Church and Christianity as a foundational element of God s salvific project in the person of Jesus Christ. The structure of the dissertation is composed of three parts. Starting with a short biography of the author, discusses the term New Political Theology which undergoes a hermeneutics change rescuing it as an effective theological instrument. The second block deals with the applicability of Fundamental Theology, starting from the questions that surround the theme of theodicy in the post-Enlightenment context. The last part deals with the Memoria Passionis; the solidarity with the suffering of others cannot allow the pain to be forgotten, as well as the death of those who suffer should not be meaningless. The thesis sought to present the thought of Johann Baptist Metz highlighting three major thematic groups which certainly are not exhaustive, but indicative. The author s thinking plays an important role in the course of Christianity. His Political Theology is highly relevant and current to think theologically the unfair questions of society, such as inequality and the growing migration of people. It is hoped that the present work may arouse the interest of deepening in the thinking of this prolific author, who has much to contribute to the theology of Latin America and the world.
