De cartas e de poesia: o projeto poético de Manuel Bandeira

And, thus the readings, analyses and comparisons of his poetry, see how the poet constitutes his lyric. Initiated in May 1922 and prolonged until October 1944, these letters show elements of poetic project of Bandeira. In the epistolary discourses, are recorded the dialogues that underpin much from the poet s thoughts. Considering this, it delineates the key question of this survey, that is, checking how far the facts discussed by the poet in his letters are effectively applied in his verses. The analyzed corpus is consisted by letters of the two interlocutors and the poems of Manuel Bandeira. The methodology of the analysis goes from comparisons of speeches to observing the more incisive and points that offer the necessary elements for investigation in the processes of creation. As a theoretical framework for understanding the historicity, social context and life and work of Bandeira, we support in studies of Antonio Candido, Lafetá, Julio Castañon and Alfredo Bosi. About the studies of letters and the processes of creation, we resorted to Hansen, Moraes and Salles. The part about the concepts of music, the study is based on the concepts of Bennett, Carpeaux, Chissel, Golden, Med, Priolli, Schafer and Schoenberg. Finally, the results lead us to understand the letter like fragments of memory residue and multifaceted discourse that reveals the creative process of the poetics of Manuel Bandeira as one of the proposals of the turn / O escopo desta pesquisa é a analise da gênese do projeto poético de Manuel Bandeira por meio das cartas trocadas entre ele e Mário de Andrade. E, assim, por meio das leituras, análises e comparações de sua produção poética, depreender o modo como o poeta constitui sua lírica. Iniciada em maio de 1922 e prolongada até outubro de 1944, essas correspondências revelam elementos constitutivos do projeto poético de Bandeira. Nas dobras dos discursos epistolares, estão registrados os diálogos que balizam boa parte do pensamento desse poeta. Com isso, delineia-se a questão chave desta pesquisa, ou seja, a verificação de que até que ponto os fatos discutidos pelo poeta em suas cartas são efetivamente aplicados em seus versos. O corpus analisado compõe-se de cartas dos dois interlocutores e dos poemas de Manuel Bandeira. A metodologia parte das análises e comparações dos discursos, observando-se os pontos mais incisivos e que oferecem os elementos necessários para averiguação nos processos de criação. Como referencial teórico para a compreensão da historicidade, contexto social e vida e obra de Bandeira, apoiamo-nos em estudos de Antonio Candido, Lafetá, Júlio Castañon e Alfredo Bosi. Acerca dos estudos das cartas e dos processos de criação, recorremos a Hansen, Moraes e Salles. At the end of the literacy cycle, many children don?t even guaranteed basic skills of reading and writing, presenting difficulties in understanding the alphabetic principle. Many researches show that there is influence of phonological awareness on children's performance in the written language appropriation. Other studies suggest that intervention programs in phonological awareness are positive for learning of children with difficulties in reading and writing. Researches have suggested that the development of phonological awareness skills linked to the explicit teaching of letter-sound relationships favors a more effective way, the discovery of the alphabetic principle by the child. Thus, to achieve the established objective, we conducted an experimental nature of research carried out in five phases: pre-test, application of the First Phase of the intervention program, post-test 1, implementation of Second Phase of the intervention program and post-test 2. The data found in the reading and writing tests the children were analyzed in qualitative and quantitative approach. The results revealed that the participation of students in the research group in phonological awareness program, and teaching of letter-sound relationships provided an opportunity a breakthrough in the understanding of the alphabetic principle, highlighting the importance of investing in metalinguistic skills and systematic teaching of grapheme-phoneme correspondences in the literacy process. The data presented in this study suggest important educational implications with regard to teacher formation and the use of metalinguistic skills development activities, such as phonological awareness, in addition to systematic and orderly teaching of grapheme-phoneme correspondences. / Esta disserta??o ? o resultado de uma pesquisa desenvolvida no Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Educa??o, na Linha de Pesquisa 2: Culturas, Forma??o e Pr?ticas Pedag?gicas, da Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana, que tem por objetivo analisar os resultados de um programa de interven??o composto por atividades de consci?ncia fonol?gica e atividades de ensino das rela??es letra-som para a compreens?o do princ?pio alfab?tico com alunos do 3? ano do Ensino Fundamental que n?o conseguiram garantir a aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita no momento adequado. Ao final do ciclo de alfabetiza??o, muitas crian?as ainda n?o garantiram compet?ncias b?sicas de leitura e escrita, apresentando dificuldades na compreens?o do princ?pio alfab?tico. Dessa forma, para alcan?armos o objetivo tra?ado, realizamos uma investiga??o de natureza experimental realizada com um grupo controle (GC) e um grupo de pesquisa (GP), em cinco fases: pr?-teste, aplica??o da I fase do programa de interven??o, p?s-teste 1, aplica??o da II fase do programa de interven??o e p?s-teste 2. Os dados encontrados nos testes de leitura e escrita das crian?as foram analisados nas abordagens qualitativa e quantitativa. Os resultados revelaram que a participa??o dos alunos do grupo de pesquisa no programa de consci?ncia fonol?gica e ensino das rela??es letra-som oportunizou um avan?o na compreens?o do princ?pio alfab?tico, evidenciando a import?ncia do investimento nas habilidades metalingu?sticas e no ensino sistem?tico das correspond?ncias grafema-fonema no processo de alfabetiza??o. Our corpus consists of books with letters by Ana Cristina Cesar, Clarice Lispector and Frida Kahlo and five Frida Kahlo s self-portraits. Our theoretical framework is grounded on the works of Flusser in the field of communication. The definition and structure of letters is based on the thoughts of Anonymous from Bologna, Caio Junior Victor, Michel Foucault and Mark Moraes. The analysis of self-portraits relies on reflections of Katia Canton, J. Moulin and Ernst Rebel; on the process of creation as a network, semioticallybased (Peircean line) we resorted to Cecilia Salles s research. The methodology covered the identification of the elements of creation that were significantly repeated, thus lending themselves to some generalizations about their creative processes. From this perspective the thesis discusses the concept of letter and the structure of the letters analyzed as well as contemplates this communicative medium along the studies of the processes of creation as a network, focusing on the marks left by authors in the constitution of the subjects of creation. Finally, we propose a possible analogy between the authors way of writing letters and the process of creating Frida Kahlo s self-portraits. The results are: discussion of the concept of letter, analysis of the structure of letters, reflection both on the communicative act in the creation process and on the constitution of creator subjects and finally on the analogical relationship between the writing of letters and the process of creating self-portraits / A tese questiona os aspectos comunicativos e a constituição do sujeito ao longo dos processos de criação de Ana Cristina Cesar, Clarice Lispector e Frida Kahlo. O corpus analisado é composto por livros de cartas das autoras Ana Cristina Cesar, Clarice Lispector e Frida Kahlo e por cinco autorretratos de Frida Kahlo. Utiliza-se o referencial teórico da área da comunicação, desenvolvido por Vilém Flusser. Sobre a definição e a estruturação da carta, baseia-se no pensamento de Anônimo de Bolonha, Caio Junior Victor, Michel Foucault e Marcos Moraes. Acerca do autorretrato o estudo se apoia nas reflexões de Kátia Canton, J. Moulin e Ernst Rebel; a respeito do processo de criação como rede, de base semiótica (linha peirceana) recorremos à pesquisa de Cecilia Salles. A metodologia partiu da identificação dos elementos de criação que se repetiam de forma significativa e ofereciam generalizações sobre seus processos de criação. A partir dessa perspectiva a tese discute o conceito de carta e sua estrutura; reflete sobre esse meio comunicativo no âmbito dos estudos dos processos de criação como rede e as marcas das autoras no processo de constituição de sujeitos da criação. Por fim, é proposta uma possível analogia entre a escritura das cartas e o processo de criação dos autorretratos de Frida Kahlo. Rôle des différences interindividuelles dans la reconnaissance visuelle des mots : effets de voisinage orthographique par suppression d’une lettre et de confusabilité d’une lettre substituée / Role of interindividual differences in visual word recognition : effects of deletion orthographic neighborhood and confusability of the substituted letter

L’objectif de cette thèse était d’étudier les variations possibles des processus impliqués dans la reconnaissance visuelle des mots selon les différences d’habiletés lexicales de lecteurs adultes (niveaux de lecture, orthographe et vocabulaire). Ainsi, nous avons testé l’effet de fréquence du voisinage orthographique par suppression et par substitution d’une lettre dans des tâches de décision lexicale (Exp. 1, 4), démasquage progressif (Exp. 2, 5), dénomination (Exp. 3, 6), et catégorisation de couleur (Exp. 7). Un effet inhibiteur de fréquence du voisinage orthographique par suppression (Exp. 1-3) et par substitution (Exp. 6) d’une lettre a été obtenu. Les temps de réponse étaient plus longs et les taux d’erreurs plus élevés pour les mots avec au moins un voisin orthographique plus fréquent que pour ceux sans un tel voisin, ce qui peut être expliqué en termes de compétition lexicale. De plus, la compétition lexicale du voisin par suppression d’une lettre était plus importante pour les individus ayant des habiletés lexicales hautes plutôt que basses (Exp. 1, 3), ces derniers individus témoignant de difficultés d’inhibition du compétiteur. Par ailleurs, les individus ayant des habiletés lexicales basses étaient moins rapides et moins précis que ceux ayant des habiletés lexicales hautes (Exp. 1-7). Les données de la tâche de catégorisation (Exp. 7) suggèrent des difficultés dans la mise en place de l’inhibition pour ces individus. Enfin, nous avons montré que l’effet de fréquence du voisinage orthographique était influencé par la confusabilité de la lettre substituée, ce qui différait selon les habiletés lexicales des individus (Exp. 4-6). Dans le cadre théorique de l’activation interactive et de codage spatial des lettres, les données soulignent l’importance des différences d’habiletés lexicales des lecteurs pour rendre compte des différences dans la diffusion de l’activation et de l’inhibition lexicales dans la reconnaissance visuelle des mots. / Word recognition, according to the adult readers’ lexical skill differences (reading, spelling and vocabulary levels). To do so, we tested the orthographic neighborhood frequency effect by deletion and substitution of a letter in lexical decision (Exp.1, 4), progressive demasking (Exp 2, 5), denomination (Exp. 3, 6), and color categorization tasks (Exp.7). Response times were longer and the error rates were higher for words with at least one higher frequency neighbor than for words without such a neighbor, which can be explained in terms of lexical competition. In addition, the lexical competition of the higher-frequency deletion neighbor seems more important for individuals with high lexical skills than for those with low lexical skills (Exp 1, 3), the latter showing difficulties in inhibiting the competitor. Furthermore, individuals with low lexical skills were slower and less accurate than those with high lexical skills (Exp 1-7). Data from the categorization task (Exp. 7) suggest difficulties in setting up inhibition for these individuals. Finally, we have shown that the orthographic neighborhood frequency effect was influenced by the confusability of the substituted letter, differing according to the lexical skills of the individuals (Exp 4-6). In the theoretical framework of activation-interactive and spatial coding, the data highlight the importance of readers’ differences in lexical skills for the diffusion of lexical activation and inhibition in visual word recognition.

Esta tese apresenta as cartas de seguro dentro da matriz doutrinária portuguesa e suas formas de aplicação na justiça do Brasil colônia, no período de 1769 a 1831. Ela inicia apresentando uma versão da carta de seguro que foi um modelo de graça régia, para, em seguida, preocupar-se em revelar as repetições de aplicação, a transferência do Reino para o território colonial, procurando desvendar o significado do recurso dentro da organização doutrinária e da justiça lusitanas. O funcionamento das cartas de seguro, dentro do sistema jurídico e administrativo português, foi explanado no estudo empírico dos documentos remanescentes da comarca do Rio das Mortes, os processos-crimes, e, para entender a aplicação da justiça, bem como as formas como sua efetividade se apresentou na Comarca do Rio das Mortes, capitania e província de Minas Gerais, no período de 1769 a 1831, procurouse estudar os manuais dos praxistas que ensinaram a praxe do foro na segunda metade do século XVIII e início do século seguinte. Buscou-se mapear tanto os comportamentos confluentes entre as Minas e a matriz lusitana, bem como as formas incongruentes entre as duas instâncias. A tese foi dividida em duas partes, sendo que, na primeira, procurou-se explicitar a origem lusitana do recurso, descrevendo seus vínculos com a administração e justiça lusitanas. Na segunda parte, o trabalho voltou-se para o uso das cartas de seguro dentro do Brasil, ressaltando a aplicação local no território das Minas do Ouro, discutindo as diferentes formas de aplicação das cartas de seguro frente à diversidade social marcada com a presença de livres, cativos e forros; homens e mulheres; regiões mais e menos institucionalizadas, bem como regiões de fronteira. Estudou-se esse tema com o objetivo de instalar um debate sobre o funcionamento da justiça colonial e sobre a relação entre a colônia e sua metrópole, bem como se objetivou estudar a forma como a centralização do poder real influenciou a administração colonial. / This thesis presents the letters of insurance, according to the Portuguese doctrinal matrix and their forms of application in the justice of colonial Brazil, the period from 1769 to 1831. It begins by presenting a version of the letter of insurance, which was a model of regal grace, then it is concerned about revealing the repetitions, its application, the transfer of the Kingdom to the colonial territory, trying to unravel the meaning of the resource in the Lusitan doctrinal and juridical organization. The functioning of insurance cards within the Portuguese legal and administrative system was based in the empirical study of the remaining documents of the district of Rio das Mortes, crimes cases, and to understand the application of justice, as well as the ways their effectiveness is presented in County of Rio das Mortes, captaincy and province of Minas Gerais in the period 1769 to 1831. It was made a study of the manuals of those who had the traditional rules and who taught the practice of court in the second half of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the next century. We attempted to map both the confluent behaviors between Minas and the Lusitanian matrix, as well as incongruent ways between these two bodies. The thesis was divided into two parts, which at first is an effort to explain the origin of the Lusitanian resource describing their ties to the Lusitanian administration and justice . In the second part, the work is about the use of letters of insurance in Brazil, with the application site in the Gold Mines, discussing the different ways to implement the insurance cards in face of the social diversity characterized by the presence of free and captive people and liners, men and women, most and least institutionalized places, as well as border regions. The purpose of studying this issue was the debate on the functioning of the colonial justice and the relationship between the colony and its metropolis, and also the intention of studying how the centralization of royal power influenced the colonial administration.

[pt] Esta pesquisa pretende analisar a produção de material gráfico produzido pelas classes populares, o que é aqui denominado Design Gráfico Vernacular. O objetivo do trabalho é analisar este fenômeno através de pesquisa teórica, entrevistas, observações e análise gráfica do objeto em questão considerando o contexto social em que surge esse tipo de produção, o que a define, assim como o uso desses objetos. O objeto de estudo consiste em um conjunto de letreiros formado por três categorias de negócios de prestação de serviços, sendo eles: bares, restaurantes e lanchonetes; cabeleireiros e chaveiros, registrados na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A partir da observação e análise do conjunto de letreiros confeccionados artesanalmente por profissionais especializados, os letristas, o trabalho busca também verificar a existência de uma linguagem própria desse tipo de produção. A pesquisa parte do princípio de que instâncias de legitimação provenientes de grupos sociais distintos, impõem valores e critérios de julgamento que afetam a produção de um campo de produção de bens simbólicos como o design. A importância desta pesquisa reside no fato de que a produção do design gráfico vernacular, mesmo caracterizando uma produção artesanal em uma sociedade pós-industrial, ainda é uma prática comum em todo o país. Esse tipo de produção convive com a produção do design gráfico culto dentro de uma mesma sociedade, porém ambos os campos de produção se formam para atender as necessidades de grupos sociais distintos. / [en] This dissertation intends to analyse the production of graphical material proceeding from popular social groups, which is herein named Graphic Vernacular Design. The focus of the work is to analyse this phenomenon through theoretical research, surveys, observation and graphical analyses of the object at issue, observing the social context in which that production arises, what defines it and the use of such objects. The object of study is based on a set of signs featured by three categories of business and services, such as: bars, restaurants and snack-bars; hairdressers and locksmiths registered in the city of Rio de Janeiro. From the observation and analysis of a handmade set of signs made by skilled professionals in that area of production, the so-called letter painters, this piece of work also investigates the existence of a particular language in that kind of production. The research takes as principle the fact that legitimation instances proceeding from different social groups impose values and rules of judgement which affect the production of a field of production of symbolic goods as occurs with the design. The importance of this study is based on the fact that the production of graphic vernacular design, even though characterizing a handmade production in a post- industrial society is still a regular practice in the country. That kind of production lives together with the production of cultured graphic design inside the same society: however, both fields of production are formed to attend the needs of distinct social groups.

Este estudo analisa a harmonização do ordenamento jurídico brasileiro com a realidade da ordem internacional globalizada sob o enfoque da solução de litígios comerciais internacionais. Parte-se da hipótese de que há uma desarmonia entre a atuação do Brasil no cenário comercial internacional e os meios disponíveis às partes para dar eficácia aos litígios transnacionais. Para verificar a veracidade desta hipótese, realiza-se um estudo prático sobre a admissibilidade pelo ordenamento brasileiro de medidas de urgência proferidas nos litígios internacionais, cujo cumprimento é requerido por carta rogatória. O estudo de caso aborda tanto a solicitação do cumprimento no Brasil de medidas de urgência proferidas em outras jurisdições quanto as medidas proferidas por tribunais arbitrais estrangeiros. A importância da cooperação jurídica internacional e as tentativas de harmonização das normas processuais no âmbito internacional, principalmente no que se refere à admissibilidade de medidas de urgência proferidas no exterior, são abordadas para demonstrar a necessidade de cooperação entre os órgãos judicantes de cada Estado para que se obtenha um resultado justo e eficaz nos litígios transnacionais, garantindo a segurança jurídica necessária às partes envolvidas no comércio internacional / This study analyses the harmonization of the Brazilian legal system with the current reality of a globalized international order. Focus is given to the resolution of international commercial litigation. The thesis established is that there is a disharmony between Brazils participation in international commerce and the methods available within Brazil to resolve efficiently the disputes arising out of such commercial relations. To verify this hypothesis, this paper analyses the admissibility and enforceability in Brazilian Courts of provisional measures issued by other courts and arbitral tribunals. The enforcement of provisional measures is usually requested by rogatory letters or letters of request. The importance of international judicial cooperation and the tentative to harmonize the norms of civil procedure in the multilateral sphere, especially with respect to provisional measures, are addressed to demonstrate the necessity of cooperation between the judicial organs of each State in order to achieve a fair and efficient result in international litigation. Only such cooperation will establish the requisite level of legal certainty necessary to facilitate the participation of Brazilian parties in the international commercial arena.

A Space of Their Own Color: Black Greek Letter Organizations at the University of New Orleans

Every semester across the United States, countless students join Greek letter organizations. While some may recognize the Greek letters, many Americans do not know the racial divide within the Greek life system, and the difference of purpose those organizations hold. This study focuses on eight historically Black fraternities and sororities and more specifically, their chapters at the University of New Orleans, a university that throughout its history has had a predominantly White student body, and often fostered an environment overtly and subtly hostile to African-American students. Using oral histories, university yearbooks, and university newspapers this study demonstrates how Black fraternities and sororities at UNO promoted and supported the academic success of African-American students by emphasizing community service work, communal bonds, and connections to campus activities. These organizations provided emotional and academic support for African-American students and actively resisted the racial divisiveness present on their university campus.

Patterns of Regularity Noncompliance Identified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Their Effects on Meta-analyses

The objective of this study was to determine the patterns of regulatory noncompliance, as identified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and their effects on meta-analyses. In order to achieve these objective, three studies were undertaken: analysis of citations issued by FDA Investigators at the conclusion of an inspection; analysis of regulatory actions taken by the FDA towards clinical researchers based on the observations cited by FDA Investigators; and sensitivity analysis of meta-analyses based on the Agency’s determination of research misconduct, primarily the falsification of data. FDA Investigator citations were analyzed using Chi-Square analysis based on geographic location of the inspection, type of inspection, and type of violation. Temporal changes in the number of inspections and the violations cited were analyzed using bivariate Poisson regression models. Bonferroni correction was employed for temporal changes across the time period analyzed. Regulatory actions taken by the agency were analyzed via Chi-Square or Fisher’s exact test based on changes identified in previous publications, temporal changes, and differences between regulatory action types. Sensitivity analysis of meta-analyses identified through a systematic review were assessed both qualitatively and quantitatively for the effects of including publications of apixaban trials with significant FDA regulatory action, i.e. the comparison of odds ratio point estimate, upper and lower 95% confidence interval, both before and after consideration of falsified data. Under the FDA’s Bioresearch Monitoring program from 2007-2015, the number of inspections increased, but the rate of citation issuance per inspection decreased. One third of the violations were related to adherence to investigational procedures followed by informed consent violations and violations involving study records. During this same time period, 194 clinical researchers received a regulatory action based on FDA’s review of inspection results. Since 2007, rates of significant deviations had decreased. Lack of researcher supervision and submission of false information were cited more frequently for disqualification proceedings. A systematic review found 99 statistical analyses from 22 different meta-analyses available for sensitivity analyses. Nearly one-third resulted in a change in the conclusions reported in the originally published statistical analyses. In approximately the last decade, the number of violations cited during inspections under the Bioresearch Monitoring program has decreased; however, significant improvements can continue to be made regarding adherence to study procedures, the consenting of human subjects, and creation of adequate and accurate study documentation. Disqualification of clinical researchers is more likely to occur when researchers fail to supervise a clinical trial or false information is submitted to the FDA. Falsified data can make its way into the exploding field of meta-analyses, a study method that provides a concise and compelling method for the dissemination of medical intervention knowledge; however, this method can be highly unstable and can provide biased results. A robust sensitivity analysis that considers data quality from available sources can help ensure calculations of the best estimates.

敦煌寫本書儀中應用文書研究 / An Analaysis of the Practial writing in the Written Shu-i in Tun-huan

書儀是研究唐、五代社會應用文書的重要資料也是敦煌文學中重要的一環。本文在大陸學者已有相關資料匯集之後進一步分析書儀中應用文書的特性。文中先探討「書儀」及「應用文書」的定義並探討二者的共同特性及相異之處,以此作為分析敦煌寫本書儀應用文書的準則並簡單介紹敦煌寫本書儀的作者與年代;其次為敦煌寫本書儀進行分類,依使用狀況的不同,分為一般應用文書、吉儀、凶儀、書、啟、狀再依其使用者的不同細分成類闡明各類書儀的形式與內容勾勒出敦煌所存唐、五代寫本書儀的一個模型。最後則探討敦煌寫本書儀在應用文上的特性,並與唐、五代的應用文書相比較檢視其異同之處。就應用文書的特性來看敦煌寫本書儀保存了當時書信形式及語言也反映當時人對於書信範本的需求及使用應用文書時的普遍性規則。其中表、啟、狀等書牘的基本架構與全唐所載的相關文獻是相符的。雖寫本年代前後不一其用語、形式上卻有相當的一致性。此外在書儀可以見到當時人的人際關係、風俗禮儀、語言文學等。
