Gutierrez Belleza, Marco Eddu 29 November 2019 (has links)
The best man can be como discurso publicitario arquetípico. / This article investigates the archetype of the hero and masculinities in advertising. Los 12 pasos del titán: Shingeki no kyoyin; Eren Jäeger y Reiner Braun desde el punto de vista de Vogler / The 12 steps of the titan: Shingeki no kyoyin; Eren Jäeger y Reiner Braun from the point of view of Vogler

Urbina Salvador, Fabrizio Renato 24 June 2021 (has links)
With the growing and constant globalization, the popularity of manga and anime has increased dramatically in recent years. The anime is Japanese animation, emphasizing the facial expressions of the characters. Although various scholars have used both manga and anime as sources of information for their various investigations, it appears that not much has been done to examine the phases of the hero's journey. That is why the objective of this work is to identify how the 12 steps of the hero are manifested in the anime Shingeki no Kyoyin, more specifically by Eren Jäeger and Reiner Braun, protagonists of his story. To do this, it will be based on the theory of the hero's journey proposed by Christopher Vogler (1992), the 12 steps that this structure contains, reviewing about 10 scenes where both characters are the central axis of the situation and, finally, making use of the instrument in question, which is the content analysis guide. / Trabajo de investigación

Content Analysis of Archetypal Portrayal of Females in Picture Books Read in Preschool Classrooms

Ellefsen, Karen Lynn 01 January 2015 (has links)
Literature that depicts females in restrictive roles may limit girls' aspirations and success. Previous studies of award-winning books for young children have found gender-stereotypical role portrayal to be common. The purpose of this qualitative content analysis was to identify the archetypal roles assigned to female characters in picture books read aloud by teachers in the preschool classroom. The conceptual framework for this study was derived from feminist theory and Jungian archetypes. Data were collected in the form of teachers' logs of books they read aloud over a 2-week period. Data were analyzed by employing the 3-read method developed by Madsen, which was revised to assign Jungian archetypes to each female character in a sample of 20 books. According to study results, female characters were portrayed as passive and often silent. Most of the female characters in these books were assigned archetypes typified by low personal agency, passivity, and service to others (orphan, innocent, and caretaker) and none were assigned archetypes associated with innovation (magician, jester, and creator). Of the 106 female characters portrayed in this sample, only 26% were verbal, and of those who spoke, 46% were limited to the one or two words needed to ask for assistance or to offer to serve. Female characters who did advance the plot through dialogue were often in animal form. Gender stereotypes still exist in children's picture books, as evidenced by objectification of females, female servitude, and lack of positive agentic female roles. This study has potential to elicit positive social change, benefiting both boys and girls, through increased awareness of archetypal role portrayal of female characters in picture books and teachers' increased care in selecting read-aloud books with regard to the gender-based messages they send.

"Don't Believe the Hype": The Construction and Export of African American Images in Hip-Hop Culture.

Sewell, John Ike, Jr. 06 May 2006 (has links) (PDF)
This study examines recurring motifs and personas in hip-hop. Interviews with influential hip-hop scholars, writers and music industry personnel were conducted and analyzed using qualitative methods. Interview subjects were selected based on their insider knowledge as music critics, hip-hop scholars, ethnomusicologists, publicists, and music industry positions. The vast majority of constructed imagery in hip-hop is based on a single persona, the gangsta. This qualitative analysis reveals why gangsta personas and motifs have become the de facto imagery of hip-hop. Gangsta imagery is repeatedly presented because it sells, it is the most readily-available role, and because of music industry pressures. This study is significant because gangsta imagery impacts African American social knowledge and the generalized perception of blackness. Gangsta imagery has also served to alienate black culture and has caused rifts in the African American community.
