No / A conceptual design approach is an important stage for the development of a hybrid Knowledge-Based System (KBS) for Low Volume Automotive Manufacturing (LVAM). The development of a hybrid KBS, which is a blend of KBS and Gauging Absences of Pre-requisites (GAP), is proposed for LVAM research. The hybrid KB/GAP system identifies all potential elements of LVAM issues throughout the development of this system. The KBS used in the system design stage of the LVAM system analyses the gap between the existing and the benchmark organisations for an effective implementation through the GAP analysis technique. The proposed KBLVAM model at the design stage explores three major components, namely LVAM car body parts manufacturing perspective, LVAM competitive priorities perspective and LVAM lean environment perspective. Health related absenteeism was identified as a problem in the schools in the
Molopo region, needing a multi-disciplinary approach which included the
parents.
A conceptual framework on absenteeism was used as a guideline for the
descriptive research design. Using a convenience sampling technique 426 absentees,
22 teachers and 2 school nurses filled in three separate questionnaires in
ten schools selected to determine the extent of absenteeism due to health related
and other problems, the control measures taken and the awareness of school
personnel.
Health problems were identified as the main reasons for absenteeism. Inadequate
communication between the schools and parents as well as lack of guidelines on
the control of absenteeism, were other problems identified.
Recommendations made related to the provision of school health services that
promote the health status of the pupils based on Primary Health Care principles,
parental involvement in school health matters and the formulation of policies

[pt] Baseada no compromisso com a qualidade de vida das crianças em suas
relações com a natureza e nos desafios de uma educação ambiental que seja
assegurada como mais um direito humano, no sentido de garantir uma relação
ampla dos seres humanos com e enquanto natureza, e mais que isso, de resgatar o
direito da própria vida se manter, esta pesquisa focou as relações das crianças da
Comunidade das Pedras (Teresópolis-RJ) entre si e na/com a natureza, tanto em
sua comunidade e convívio familiar quanto dentro da escola, buscando
compreender as atividades propostas que se dedicam a um convívio com o
ambiente natural e sua importância curricular. Dessa forma, o objetivo da pesquisa
foi, por um lado, compreender, no contexto de uma comunidade rural, como as
crianças do campo, que já têm, fora da escola, algum convívio garantido com a
natureza, compreendem essa relação, e, por outro, como a escola reconhece e
trabalha a partir desta realidade local.
A pesquisa se fundamentou teoricamente a partir, principalmente, da
articulação de três eixos de referência: o conceito de três ecologias de Félix
Guattari e sua influência na discussão atual sobre educação ambiental; a
sociologia das ausências e das emergências de Boaventura Sousa Santos; e a
defesa do direito à vida e de um meio ambiente saudável na perspectiva da
educação em direitos humanos.
A partir de uma inspiração etnográfica, a pesquisa se deu de forma
imersiva no contexto de uma comunidade rural, entendendo, que, apesar da
natureza abundante, a relação dicotômica entre cultura e natureza que construímos
a partir da civilização ocidental vem contribuindo para o fortalecimento de uma
cultura antropocêntrica que separa os humanos de seu entorno, isolando-os das
outras espécies e cultivando atitudes destrutivas em relação a tudo que vive.
Apesar da maior inserção da temática ambiental na escola através da
educação ambiental e de sua importância anunciada pelos professores, a
incorporação desta temática às práticas pedagógicas ainda é frágil, apontando o
caráter monocultural da escola e a necessidade de repensar a importância da
natureza para o desenvolvimento integral das crianças. / [en] Being based on the commitment to the life quality of children as related to
nature and bearing in mind the challenges of an environmental education to be
guaranteed as another human right, the research aimed at the way children of
Comunidade das Pedras (Teresópolis, in the State of Rio de Janeiro) relate among
them as well as with nature, both in their family nucleuses and at school. On the
one hand, the chief aim was to investigate from the perspective of a rural
community how children from the country envisage this relation, considering that
some contact with nature is already guaranteed to them. On the other hand, the
aim was to investigate how the school acknowledges this local reality and works
based on this local reality. The theoretical basis was the articulation of three
reference sources: Felix Guattari’s concept of the three ecologies and its influence
on the current discussion of environmental education; Boaventura Sousa Santos’
sociology of absences and emergencies; and the fight for the right to life and for a
healthy environment from the perspective of education in human rights.
Beginning with an ethnographic inspiration, an immersion was conducted
in different contexts, interviews with teachers, group activities with the students
and documental analysis. We are convinced that, in spite of the plentiful nature of
the context in which the research was conducted, the two-part relationship
between culture and nature which we have built based on the western civilization,
is contributing to the strengthening of an anthropocentric culture that separates
human beings from their surroundings, thus isolating them from other species and
cultivating destructive attitudes towards anything that lives.
In spite of environmental topics being more present at school and the fact
that teachers have declared its importance, the incorporation of such topics to
pedagogic practices is still very uncertain. That, in turn, points to the monocultural
nature of school and the necessity of revising the importance of nature to
the all-inclusive development of children.

Previous issue date: 2001-12-21 / The nursing working conditions in hospitals have been considered insalubrious since these workers are liable to many risks including physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, mechanical and psychosocial. As a result of this exposure, they may become ill; consequently staying off work. This is an epidemiological study with a census to describe the working absences due to sick leave of nurses from a general teaching hospital. These absences were registered at the Centro de Atendimento ao Trabalhador (CEAT) in the period from 1995 to 1999. A total of 1,002 registrations of absences from working of members of nursing team was analyzed: 9.1% nurses, 1.7% nursing technicians, 69.7% nursing assistances and 19.5% of nursing orderlies. These people were related to 1,986 episodes of sick leave during the studied period: 1,826 (91.4%) by health licenses; 123 (6.2%) by working accidents; and 37 (1.2%) by maternity leave. According to the analysis of characteristics related to these absentees, the majority was women and workers aged between 31 to 40 years old, married, with full-time work of 1 to 6 years; in general, the period of time spent away from work was 1 to 4 days, and mostly employees were working in complex units. The characteristics of the episodes of absenteeism by health licence were frequently due to genito-urinary problems, badly defined diseases and respiratory system diseases. The nursing assistants and the nursing orderlies had registration of all classifications of the International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems (1994). This study showed some ethic-legal infractions mainly in relation to the nursing orderlies as well as showing several factors which may be related to the episodes of working absences. Therefore, it may give ways to better analysis of this situation in the hospital improving the current working conditions; moreover, a further deeper investigation of absenteeism which causing more serious and longer problems. / As condições de trabalho da enfermagem em hospitais tem sido consideradas insalubres pela exposição a riscos de natureza física, química, biológicas, ergonômicas, mecânicas e psicossocial, provocando adoecimento e consequentemente afastamentos do trabalho. Nesta abordagem realiza-se este estudo epidemiológico, censitário que teve como objetivo descrever os afastamentos do trabalho por motivo de licença médica de exercentes de enfermagem de um hospital geral de ensino, registrados no centro do atendimento do trabalhador (ceat), no período de 1995 à 1999. Foram analisados os registros de afastamentos do trabalho de 1002 pessoas da equipe de enfermagem, sendo 9,1% de enfermeiros, 1,7% de técnicos de enfermagem, 69,7% de auxiliares de enfermagem e 19,5% de atendentes de enfermagem, que envolvem-se em 1986 episódios de afastamentos no período em estudo, sendo 1826 (91,4%) por licença saúde; 123 (6,2%) por acidentes de trabalho e 37 (1,2%) por licença gestante.
Nota de Resumo Na análise das características dos episódios de afastamentos constatou-se que acometeu principalmente mulheres, funcionários com idade entre 31 e 40 anos, na categoria de casados, com tempo de serviço de 1 a 6 anos, tempo de afastamento de 1 a 4 dias e entre aqueles que atuavam em unidades complexas.
Nota de Resumo Quanto às características dos episódios de afastamento por licença saúde, ficam ressaltados que os problemas de saúde mais freqüentes foram do sistema geniturinário, doenças mal definidas e doenças do sistema respiratório e que os auxiliares de enfermagem e atendentes de enfermagem tiveram registros em todas as classificações de doenças do classificação internacional de doenças (cid) - 10. Assim, com este trabalho identificou-se infrações ético legais, principalmente em relação ao atendente de enfermagem e que vários fatores podem ser relacionados com os episódios de afastamento do trabalho, dando subsídios para uma melhor análise desta situação neste hospital, para melhoria das condições de trabalho vigente, além de sugerir um investigação mais profunda sobre os afastamentos que estão provocando problemas mais sérios e com maior duração.

De que maneira e com que estratégias os povos indígenas e ribeirinhos lidam com o avanço das práticas exploratórias sobre suas culturas e territórios? Asseveramos que o processo denominado “progresso” concebe a Floresta enquanto um empecilho à sua noção de desenvolvimento, estabelecendo com ela uma relação utilitarista, de nexo comercial e gerando a invisibilidade social das populações que Nela residem. O estudo se propõe a discutir o que é necessário para que tais populações possam tomar frente dos processos de intervenção em seus territórios. Para tanto buscamos avaliar se os princípios da cooperação, da solidariedade e da autogestão podem auxiliar e em que medida, na construção de coletivos comunitários capazes de exercer este protagonismo em busca de desejada Emancipação Social e Bem Viver. Ao longo do percurso, percebeu-se que não basta pensarmos outras formas de intervir, mas também é imperativo inovar nas formas de avaliar as intervenções. Para tanto, empreendemos intensa e minuciosa imersão em vinte comunidades indígenas e ribeirinhas do Alto Solimões, realizando visitas, observações, além de vinte duas entrevistas, onze grupos focais e o trabalho sobre quatro narrativas de histórias de vida. Para esta imersão, fazemos uso do olhar da Samaúma, da Onça e da formiga Tucandeira, posturas metafóricas extraídas da realidade da Floresta para melhor compreendê-la. / This thesis starts from some questions to make a social-historical analysis of Amazon. How the Brazilian state, over time, has established relations with the native peoples of the Amazon Forest? What are the implications of interventions carried out by the State and other civil actors in these territories? How and with what strategies indigenous peoples and river-dwelling communities deal with the advancement of the exploitative capitalist practices over their cultures and territories? We assert that the process called "progress" sees the forest as an obstacle to its notion of development, establishing with it a utilitarian relationship, based on commercial nexus, generating social invisibility to people that lives in it. For such populations, emancipating themselves means to seek autonomy and sovereignty on basic and reproductive aspects of everyday life, precisely in what public policies did not managed to build in the Amazon territories. The thesis aims to discuss what is needed for such populations to take the lead of the intervention processes in their territories, in order to direct investments to what they believe foster real emancipation and development, in their own terms. The hypothesis we worked with is that the principles of cooperation, solidarity and self-management are effective tools in building stronger communities, able to take these processes forward in pursuit of their goals of Good Living. We noticed that it’s not enough to think of new forms of intervention, but it is also imperative to innovate in ways we evaluate these interventional practices. To demonstrate these hypotheses, as well as its consequences, we undertook intense and thorough immersion in twenty-two indigenous and river-dwelling communities in the Alto Solimões, Amazon territory of production of absences. For this immersion, we used the Samaúma’s, the Onça’s and the Tucandeira Ant’s looks, metaphors drawn from the forest reality, in order to better understand it.

Previous issue date: 2010-11-30 / This thesis is a translation of work of the Brazilian doctor, Pedro da Silva
Nava (1903-1984), in particular, his memoirs and chronicles, articulated with the
writings of medicine history, aiming to defend that the autobiographical
narratives are sources of research capable of promoting discussions on the
expansion of the present at the confluence of complex and unequal society in
constant changing process as the Brazilian. The theoretical and methodological
support circulates around studies, proposals and thesis by Boaventura Santos
about empowering past, destabilizing subjectivity, sociology of absences,
cosmopolitan reason and translation work. The empirical support drawn from
the literature produced by Nava were analyzed with reference this reasoning
and studies that have facilitated the flow of translation among others, the
studies of Antonio Candido, Arrigucci Jr., Boris Cyrulnik, Beatriz Sarlo, Ecl?a
Bosi, ?talo Calvino, Jos? Willington Germano, Jos? Maria Can?ado, Lev
Vygotsky, Marilena Chau?, Paul Ric?eur and Walter Benjamim, without
neglecting what we consider indispensable to scientific research, the production
of relevant knowledge and prudent, in view of a decent life. The initial inflections
reflect the subject of the Memoirs and its education/training, to then place the
Memoir subject in the literary context, scientific, historical and Brazilian poetic
(1972-2010), bringing great interpreters and discussing the rationale used by
the Narrator that we defend stand closer to the cosmopolitan, showing the
formation of narratives whose presence insert itself beforehand to modernist
verve, linked to the discursive array against the literature as domination space,
disseminated in Brazil in the early twentieth century. So, it articulate with those
in which the concerns adjust the construction of the social formation of Brazil as
a national heritage through literary narrative that focuses on a historical
principle that becomes the past empowering, allowing his rereading, whose
converge to memory, the lifestyles, the plurality of language and Brazilian
culture, formed by several people, converging into a design not of culture but
multiculturalism in Brazil. The memory issue was addressed in the space-time
of experiences of being that narrates, shaped by a destabilizing subjectivity that
sought to order the testimony of a time, a history and society, retelling them by
creative imagination, almost fictional, to make circulate his knowledge about
Brazil attached to his medical knowledge, as well as other subjects in his living
group and other groups with whom they maintained contact. Thus, he portrayed
both tangible and intangible cultural assets of the country as a form of
preservation, giving them meanings and sense. It approaches, therefore, from
the perspective of sociology of absences, the expansion of the present and by

Bakgrund: I Sverige har det rapporterats en ökning bland barn och unga av psykiatriska diagnoser. En ökning av psykiska- samt psykosomatiska besvär hos ungdomar i åldern 13-15 år har konstaterats. Den upplevda skolmiljön ses som en stark koppling till elevernas ohälsa. Elever med långvarig skolfrånvaro riskerar att hamna i svårigheter både på kort och lång sikt. Idag används sociala tjänstehundar som särskilt stöd för elever med långvarig skolfrånvaro dock finns det en brist på kunskap om hur insatsens upplevs av både hundförare och eleven själv. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att undersöka elever och hundförares upplevelse av hundassisterad intervention som särskilt stöd vid långvarig skolfrånvaro. Metod: Två elever och tre hundförare intervjuades genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Dessa intervjuer genomfördes via videosamtal. Eleverna var i ålder 13-15 år och gick på högstadiet. Hundförarna arbetade på högstadiet på uppdrag av elevhälsan med hundassisterade interventioner som särskilt stöd vid långvarig skolfrånvaro. Resultat: Eleverna och hundförarna upplevde att hunden stöttade eleverna genom sitt bemötande, sin närhet och förmåga till relationsskapade. Detta ledde till att eleverna upplevde en förändring i sitt mående och i sin tillvaro. Eleverna upplevde en känsla av minskad stress och ångest, där elevernas vänskapliga relation till hundarna blev en betydande faktor i sin motivation till att komma till skolan, vara i skolan och utföra sina skolarbeten. Slutsats: Användningen av hundassisterade intervention som särskilt stöd vid långvarig skolfrånvaro upplevdes ge eleverna förändrade förutsättningar att öka sin närvaro i skolan. Elevernas vilja att vara med den sociala tjänstehunden bidrog till en ökad motivation att deltaga i sin skolgång. / Background: Sweden is currently witnessing an increase in diagnosed psychiatric disorders among juveniles of all ages, within which an upsurge in psychological and psychosomatic maladies has been noted in the 13-15 year old demographic. The social environment of a student’s school is seen to have a direct relationship to said student’s potential mental health issues, which can lead to extended absences. Such absences increase the risk of continued problems for the student, even beyond the realm of mental health, in the short and long term. Therapydogs are now used to provide special assistance for students with extended absences from school, however, there is a lack of knowledge how this is experienced by both doghandlers and students. Aim: The aim of this study is to observe students’ and dog handlers’ experience with canine-assisted intervention as a form of special assistance for those with extended school absences. Method: Two students and three dog handlers were interviewed with the “semi-structured interview” technique via videocall. The students were ages 13-15, and study at the middle school. The dog handlers work with student health at the students’ middle school, using canine-assisted intervention as a form of special assistance to those with extended absences from school. Results: The students and the dog handlers felt that canine interaction supported the students in their attempts to create and develop meaningful relationships. This led to positive changes in the students’ temperament and mental health in general. The diminishment of feelings of stress and anxiety can be linked to the friendly relationships built with the dogs, ultimately resulting in an increased motivation attend school and complete schoolwork. Conclusion: The use of canine-assisted intervention as special assistance to those with extended school absences was seen to give students positively changed attitudes towards school attendance, with the students’ desire to build a relationship with the therapydog as a contributing factor towards this change.

science theoretical background, emphasizing the humanistic model. The double spiral of the
sociology of absences and the sociology of emergences is detailed, being based, on one hand,
on the translation of experiences of knowledge, and, on the other, on the translation of
experiences of information and communication, by revealing the movement articulated by
Brazilian women on blogs that defend and bring into light initiatives aiming to recover natural
and humanized birth. A cartography of the thematic ideas in birth literature is produced,
resulting in the elaboration of a synthetic map on obstetric models of care in contemporaneity,
pointing out the consequences of the obstetric model that has become hegemonic in
contemporary societies, and comparing that model to others that work more efficaciously to
mothers and babies. A symbolic cartography of the activism for humanizing birth on the
Brazilian blogosphere is configured by the elaboration of an analytical map synthetizing the
main mottos defended by the movement: Normal humanized birth; Against obstetrical
violence; and Planned home birth. The superposition of the obstetric models of care s map
and the rebirth of birth s analytical map indicates it is necessary to reinforce three main
measures in order to make a paradigmatic turn in contemporary birth models of care possible:
pave the way for the humanistic care of assistance in normal birth, by defending and
highlighting practices and professionals that act in compliance with evidence based medicine,
respecting the physiology of birth; denaturalize obstetric violence, by showing how routine
procedures and interventions can be means of aggression, jeopardizing the autonomy, the
protagonism and the respect towards women; and motivate initiatives of planned home birth,
the best place for the occurrence of holistic experiences of birth. It is concluded that Internet
tools have allowed a pioneer mobilization in respecting women s reproductive rights in Brazil
and that the potential of the crowd s biopower that resides on the blogosphere can turn blogs
into a hegemonic alternative way to reach more democratic forms of social organization. In
that condition of being virtually hegemonic in contesting the established power, these blogs
can be understood, therefore, as potentially great contra-hegemonic channels for the rebirth of
birth and for the reinvention of social emancipation, as their author s articulate and organize
themselves to strive against the waste of experience, trying to create reciprocal intelligibility

referentes da dupla espiral da sociologia das aus?ncias e da sociologia das emerg?ncias,
assente, de um lado, na tradu??o de experi?ncias de conhecimentos, e de outro, na tradu??o de
experi?ncias de comunica??o e informa??o, ao mostrar o movimento que se articula entre
mulheres brasileiras em blogs que defendem e d?o visibilidade a iniciativas de recupera??o do
parto natural e humanizado. Realiza-se uma cartografia das ideias tem?ticas presentes na
literatura sobre o parto, resultando na elabora??o de mapa s?ntese dos modelos de assist?ncia
obst?trica na contemporaneidade, apontando-se as consequ?ncias do modelo que se tornou
hegem?nico nas sociedades contempor?neas e contrapondo-o a outras abordagens de aten??o
ao nascimento que funcionam mais eficazmente para m?es e beb?s. Configura-se uma
cartografia simb?lica do ativismo pela humaniza??o do parto na blogosfera brasileira,
mediante elabora??o de mapa anal?tico com s?ntese das principais bandeiras defendidas pelo
movimento: Parto normal humanizado; Contra a viol?ncia obst?trica; e Parto Domiciliar
Planejado (PDP). A sobreposi??o do mapa com os modelos de assist?ncia obst?trica e do
mapa anal?tico do renascimento do parto aponta ser necess?rio refor?ar tr?s medidas
principais para possibilitar uma virada paradigm?tica na assist?ncia ao parto na
contemporaneidade: pavimentar o caminho para a assist?ncia humanizada ao parto normal, ao
defender e dar visibilidade a pr?ticas e a profissionais que atuam de acordo com a medicina
baseada em evid?ncias, respeitando a fisiologia do parto; desnaturalizar a viol?ncia obst?trica,
ao mostrar como procedimentos e interven??es de rotina s?o formas de agress?es que
colocam em xeque a autonomia, o protagonismo e o respeito ? mulher; e incentivar iniciativas
de parto domiciliar planejado, local mais vi?vel para ocorr?ncia das experi?ncias hol?sticas de
nascimento. Conclui-se que as ferramentas da Internet t?m permitido uma mobiliza??o in?dita
em prol do respeito aos direitos reprodutivos das mulheres no Brasil e que o potencial de
biopot?ncia da multid?o que reside na blogosfera pode tornar tais canais em hegem?nicos
enquanto vias alternativas para alcan?ar formas mais democr?ticas de organiza??o social.
Nessa condi??o de virtualmente hegem?nicos na contesta??o do poder estabelecido, os blogs
configuram-se, assim, em canais com grande potencial contra-hegem?nico para o
renascimento do parto e a reinven??o da emancipa??o social, na medida em que suas autoras
se articulam e se organizam para combater o desperd?cio das experi?ncias, buscando criar
inteligibilidade rec?proca entre diferentes experi?ncias de mundo
