Koncept bazální stimulace z pohledu sester pracujících na anesteziologicko-resuscitačním oddělení / The concept of basal stimulation from the point of view of nurses working on Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation Facility

Kycltová, Pavlína January 2016 (has links)
Introduction: The dissertation of "The concept of basal stimulation from the point view of nurses working on Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation facility", discusses the matters of specifics and issues when it comes to providing a basal stimulation process within patient's hospitalization in a resuscitation unit. Patients in very complicated health conditions are hospitalized in a resuscitation unit, very often with symptoms of impaired consciousness. The concept of basal stimulation could very likely help patients' communication with other environment, with accepting and perceiving the actual situation as well as with recovering itself. The point of this dissertation is to chart the real and actual problematics of the basal stimulation used within resuscitation units, and also how nurses working in these units are bringing the concept to bear within their practice. Research methods and results: There are qualitative results posted within the empiric part of the research, as well as interviews with ten general educated nurses working in a resuscitation unit. All the results are collated and analysed in the final discussion after literal transcription of all the interviews. Histoires de vieux : Un regard sur le quotidien des personnes âgées au Brésil / Old people stories : a look at the daily life of elderly persons in Brazil

Terenzi Seixas, Clarissa 29 June 2012 (has links)
For many years, the aging of the population has been associated with developed countries. Lately, it increases in developing countries like Brazil. However, it remains a relatively unknown phenomenon whose complexity begins to appear. But if aging and old age are gaining importance in several fields of science and contemporary politicalconcerns, yet it is the view of those who live it daily that is often overlooked: the old themselves. In this research, we put our efforts into a comprehensive approach, which is able to capture this atmosphere. From the life histories of older people in Rio de Janeiro, we attempted to understand the meaning they ascribe to their experiences in order to account for their existence and their lack of ease in existing, their lifestyle. We use the methodology of narratives to understand the empirical material. We observe the heterogeneity of the aging process in Brazil, and a more positive image of the elderly andageing emerges from our scenario. We also perceive the transfiguration of the relation to the body, to time and to health among these persons and a new form of being together, highlighting the emergence of the postmodern paradigm and its coexistence with modern values in Brazilian society. We conclude with the importance of taking into account theunderstanding of elderly people in developing and implementing policies, programs and services that can mean a qualitative gain for this population

L'expérience de l'incapacité motrice à Yaoundé au Cameroun : une analyse des perturbations biographiques / The experience of motor disability in Yaounde-Cameroun : a biographical disruption analysis

Amor Ndjabo, Monique 17 November 2018 (has links)
Cela permet une analyse située des mécanismes de construction du handicap à partir des expériences des individus / The occurrence of a motor disability is a major event that is not limited to corporal dimensions, but also involves social dimensions. Individuals are faced with biographical disruptions characterized by breaches and bifurcations in their lifetrajectories and by the loss of place and role in social life. The occurrence of disability calls for a reorganization of living conditions and of the day-to-day life when returning to their usual environment after a stay in a rehabilitation centre. Experiencing motor disability thus makes it possible to grasp the social dynamics of life trajectories and the resources solicited by persons with motor disability in the process of their social reconstruction.Based on interviews conducted with men and women with motor disabilities and living at home in Yaoundé (Cameroon), this thesis aims at analysing the interactions between motor disability and social environment in the reorganization of their life trajectories and in their different activities following the onset of disability. By adopting a social model of the handicap, it highlights the biographical disruptions and the resources needed in the different trajectories to maintain and adapt their identity. It allows a situated analysis of the mechanisms of production of disability from the experience of individuals.

This dissertation aims to discuss the relations between reality and fiction identified in Brazilian author Caio Fernando Abreu's narratives “Lixo e purpurina”, “London, London, ajax, brush and rubbish” and “Garopaba mon amour”. In order to achieve such aim, this work contrasts the concepts of autobiography and autofiction, regarding the latter as the more appropriate one to encompass the narratives analyzed here. Furthermore, interviews with the author and some of his personal letters are used in this study as a mean of emphasizing the fictionalization process that can be observed in his works. It is also suggested here that the concept of biographical space allows one to better understand how several of the author's works relate to each other. This work addresses Philippe Lejeune's theories as well as those regarding the concept of autofiction, a term coined by Serge Doubrovsky and later studied by authors such as Philippe Vilain and Diana Klinger. Moreover, another concept that is vital to this research work is that of biographical space, introduced by Leonor Arfuch. According to the Argentinian author, an individual's biography is composed by an assortment of texts, therefore characterizing a wider and more complex textual space than that pressuposed by biography as a genre. Finally, the short stories used in this dissertation were analyzed taking into account the possible connections between literature and society, since Caio Fernando Abreu's texts were meant to work as political and ideological tools.

Specifically, clothes. To this ending, the visuality of the family dresses is investigated from the knowledge, description and registration of their physical and material features, which are the basis of the analysis. The testimonies of the individuals involved in its making and its use, the quest for the historicity of each piece, as well as their typology, support the discussion of the various functions, that the artefact can assume: starting as biographical objects, the dresses change from this and the other functions determined by their creation, use and keeping. With the Camisa de Pagão, used on babies, the children's little dresses, the debut gown and the bridal gown, this search goes through the economic, social and affective issues triggered remembrance processes.

Professoras de escolas rurais: Bolívia, Brasil e México / Rural school teachers: Bolivia, Brazil and Mexico

Martins, Marilda da Conceição 08 March 2016 (has links)
This thesis investigates learning paths of rural school teachers from Brazil, Bolivia and Mexico. Through biographical interviews it sought since the living memories and training of teachers, relationships, differences and joints in their reports of life and training routes. The thesis develops in the line of four major questions that were organized in four parts. The first, deals with the theoretical questions, in which are presented the general discussions from teacher training to the specificities of rural education in the three countries. Specifically in the Brazilian context is presented a data collection on researches about the formation of rural school teachers produced in the years 2000-2011, available in the database of Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) [Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination], placing the main issues present in the national debate on training rural school teachers. In addition, there are discussions about the formation of rural school teachers in Maranhão, from where came three of the five teachers interviewed for this research. The second part deals with the method and the context of achievement the research or of the research field, a quilombo, a settlement linked to the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST) [Landless Workers\' Movement], a community without ties with the social movements in the Brazilian case; a rural community called San Juan del Chaco in Bolivia and Oaxaca, in Mexico. It discusses the biographical method and the approach of content analysis as a theoretical and methodological approaches to research, besides the five categories of analysis: professional learning paths, teaching practices, professional knowledge, permanence in the profession and in the rural teaching and memories Life, work and training. The third is devoted to data analysis. Here can be verified, among other issues, that the five teachers are belonging to the working class, had poor access to schooling processes and teaching professionalization, hold thus suffering and overcoming memories, found in the militancy in social organizations and movements forms of combat invisibility of rural schools, as well as to understand their paths of life and training. The fourth, and final, part presents final considerations, research limitations and, finally, proposals for rural schools and teacher training. The thesis notes, therefore, that there are no publics polices consolidated in the three countries on rural education as well as on training teachers for rural areas.

Secret agonies, hidden wolves, leper-sins: the personal pains and prostitutes of Dickens, Trollope, and Gaskell

Carly-Miles, Claire Ilene 10 October 2008 (has links)
This dissertation explores the ways in which Charles Dickens writes Nancy in Oliver Twist, Anthony Trollope writes Carry Brattle in The Vicar of Bullhampton, and Elizabeth Gaskell writes Esther in Mary Barton to represent and examine some very personal and painful anxiety. About Dickens and Trollope, I contend that they turn their experiences of shame into their prostitute's shame. For Gaskell, I assert that the experience she projects onto her prostitute is that of her own maternal grief in isolation. Further, I argue that these authors self-consciously create biographical parallels between themselves and their prostitutes with an eye to drawing conclusions about the results of their anxieties, both for their prostitutes and, by proxy, for themselves. In Chapter II, I assert that in Nancy, Dickens writes himself and his sense of shame at his degradation and exploitation in Warren's Blacking Factory. This shame resulted in a Dickens divided, split between his successful, public persona and his secret, mortifying shame. Both shame and its divisiveness he represents in a number of ways in Nancy. In Chapter III, I contend that Trollope laces Carry Brattle with some of his own biographical details from his early adult years in London. These parallels signify Carry's personal importance to her author, and reveal her silences and her subordinate role in the text as representative of Trollope's own understanding and fear of shame and its consequences: its silencing and paralyzing nature, and its inescapability. In Chapter IV, I posit that Gaskell identifies herself with Esther, and that through her, Gaskell explores three personal things: her sorrow over the loss of not one but three of her seven children, her possible guilt over these deaths, and her emotional isolation in her marriage as she grieved alone. In her creation of Esther, Gaskell creates a way both to isolate her grief and to forge a close companion to share it, thus enabling her to examine and work through grief. In Chapter V, I examine the preface of each novel and find that these, too, reflect each author's identification with and investment of anxiety in his or her particular prostitute.

Organisational commitment after a transformation process at a provincial government department.

Basson, Bruce Ahswin. January 2008 (has links)

Organisations are by nature, dynamic entities that continuously undergo transformation in response to both internal and external pressures, which are imposed on them (Robbins, Odendaal &amp / Roodt, 2003). Government departments are by no means immune to these changes, which pose challenges that affect their service delivery. During periods of fundamental transformation, individuals typically experience changes in their levels of organisational commitment, which impacts on effective and efficient service delivery. Organisational commitment as an area of research is one of the factors that could lead to greater morale, strong organisational climate, motivation and productivity in many organisations facing transformation (Salami, 2008). The aim of this study was to investigate the level of organisational commitment after a transformation process at a Provincial Government Department. Recent organisational transformations (both in the private and public sector) have included the redrawing of divisional boundaries, flattening of hierarchic levels, spreading of spans of control, revising compensation, streamlining processes and reforming governance (Ndlovu &amp / Brijball Parusumar, 2005). The results of the research indicate that employees are moderately committed to the organisation. Statistically significant relationships were found between the dimensions of organisational commitment, except for affective commitment and total commitment which were not significant.&nbsp / Furthermore, results indicate that statistically significant differences exist based on the biographical characteristics (namely, gender, race, tenure, marital status, age and job level) but these characteristics do not significantly explain the variance in organisational commitment for this organisation. A limitation of the research is that the sampling composition and research design preclude the results of this study being generalised to other organisations and it is recommended that a stratified random sampling design be utilised for future research.
