This study aimed to investigate, from the ramifications which exist in this modality of work, elements related to trauma and their deployment on subjects. This thesis is organized in three Sections: a theoretical and two empirical ones. The first Section, Narratives of excess: the potential of words in Psychoanalysis, discusses the function of words in the necessary drive connection of psychic work. On reviewing the formation of Psychic apparatus and conditions of representability, we have approached the possibilities of metabolism of exceeding psychic intensities. Before the devastating death drive domain, there is the obstacle of (im)possible narratives. Words, with their articulation and elaboration potentials, are perceived as a possible way to restrain and to historicize lived contents. The subjects? active position makes it possible to break with Thanatos predominance of repetition. The narrative experiences transform, therefore, into vital resistance before what is harmful regarding drive unrepresentativeness. The second Section, From protocol to the unexpected: subject of affection: exercising care during catastrophes, investigates the narratives of ten health care soldiers in order to unveil the meanings and the effects of their working experiences. We have explored elements related to health care professionals? particularities and psychic conditions of processing what has been experienced in a job marked by devastation. From the interviews, analyzed with Interpretative Analysis (Erikson, 1997), we have built three assertions: Demands of affection before de (un)predictable in catastrophes; The inscription of Others into the Self: the foreigner paradox in care practice; Institutional obstacles facing ?a posteriori?: disavowal and legitimation. The interviews allowed us to access unpredictable tensioning following interventions guided by care. The identified obstacles on others? and self?s effective care practice have alluded to institutional barriers which impede and/or make it difficult for the affective processing which usually follows professional action. On the third Section, The 'a posteriori' in times of research in Psychoanalysis: narrative and hospitality, we have worked with contents built along the development of a narrative research (Creswell, 2014) before offering protection to the subjects? narratives about themselves. In the interviews, it was shown that soldiers experience meanings in both tragedy and research contexts. Knowledge production was ?a posteriori?: in participants? narratives about what has been already experienced, and in hospitality conditions to these narratives. This ?a posteriori? convergence of narrative and hospitality opened access to particular changes of working in catastrophes, and unveiled new phenomenon facets produced in and by research. Psychoanalysis has given theoretical support to the investigative modalities which guided the three Sections of this Thesis. It was possible, in this epistemological mark, to give priority to elements of subjectivity itself when a real devastation setting can, dangerously, make the attention to working professionals succumb.

At first, a contextualization of the practical execution of the work is presented as well as important theoretical questions that foment the justification of the study. The first theoretical question deals with data on the prevalence and implications of overweight or obesity on the health conditions of adolescents. National public policies of treatment and prevention are presented as existing alternatives and a description of the concepts of the TTM is presented as an intervention alternative. A review of the literature highlights randomized clinical trials aimed at testing non-drug interventions and adolescent adherence to treatment programs. Thus, the main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the effect of an interdisciplinary intervention based on TTM on the motivation to change lifestyle and health conditions of overweight or obese adolescents. To answer this question, a randomized, simple-blind clinical trial was designed. In this study, participated of 135 adolescents with age between 15 and 18; BMI-?85th percentile. The duration of the interventions was three months. In order to answer the research problems that stemmed from the main objective, the thesis unfolds in five articles. As the main quantitative results, a more expressive magnitude was observed in the percentile BMI (-0.34%; Cohen'sd = 0.23); waist circumference (-4.88%; Cohen'sd = 0.46); readiness to change feeding (16.85%; Cohen'sd = 0.86) and readiness to initiate physical exercise (33.97%, Cohen'sd = 0.92); of the experimental group compared to control. The dropout rate was 48.8%, with a higher dropout rate explained by low self-efficacy to modify lifestyle (OR: 0.732; 95% CI: 0.581 - 0.921; p = 0.008), low family support (OR: 0.807; 95% CI: 0.685 - 0.950; p = 0.010) and by factors related to parental feeding practices. MTT is an intervention modality disseminated by the brazilian Ministry of Health in the fight against smoking, and results of studies such as this thesis, may contribute to the use of interventions in the public health network for the prevention and treatment of obesity in adolescence.

The theoretical study presents a systematic review of the literature on bullying and the use of psychoactive substances in adolescents. The empirical studies are derived from two cross-sectional, school-based research projects that investigated the use of psychoactive substances and associated conditions in students from Lajeado and Sapiranga, RS, Brazil. In the year 2012, 3,547 schoolchildren, aged between 12 and 17 years, answered a self-administered questionnaire inside the classroom during the school shift. All ethical care issues were considered and the project was previously approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Unisinos University. The data analyses of these two empirical articles were authorized by the Research Ethics Committee of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Through the systematic review about bullying and the use of psychoactive substances in adolescents a controversy between the studies regarding the association between victimization and substance use was observed. Thus, the first empirical article aimed to understand the relationship between victimization by peers and use of psychoactive substances among schoolchildren, investigating gender differences. The other empirical article report the test of the main hypothesis of this dissertation, trying to verify if the perception of a negative relation with father and / or mother, as well as psychic suffering, contribute to reported situations of victimization by peers, to greater involvement in violent behaviors (fighting and carrying weapons) and the use of a greater number of psychoactive substances in the year (polyconsumption). Considering the three studies presented, it is evident that there are still gaps in the scientific literature regarding the association between bullying victimization and use of psychoactive substances. Among students from Lajeado and Sapiranga (cities), it was possible to verify that the victimization increased the probability only for the girls to make greater use in the year of illicit substances. Victimization also increased the likelihood of greater use of alcohol in the year for girls, but this effect was not maintained after the inclusion of the psychic distress variable in the analysis model. It can also be inferred that the victimization by peers does not have direct effect on the polydrug use, which is better explained by the negative relation with father and / or mother and by the presence of psychic suffering. However, victimization had a direct and indirect effect on the greater involvement of schoolchildren with violent behaviors - fights and arms possession. Thus, the complexity of the relationship between the phenomena studied is evidenced. The relationship with parents, as well as psychic suffering, seems to mediate the relation between victimization and substance use, in addition this relation influences the association between victimization by peers and involvement in violent behavior. Although the effect of peer victimization on schoolchildren is not linear, helping parents to develop good relationships with teenager and investing in young people's mental health are important tools for reducing the harm associated with victimization . In addition, since substance use and violence are considered public health problems, and considering all these results, the importance of preventing and confronting situations of victimization in pairs is evident in order to guarantee the healthy development of youth.

The impact of this phenomenon is known through a body of solid evidence, mainly on its neurobiological, cognitive and psychopathological consequences. Among the most studied are the deregulation of the Hypothalamic-Hypophyseal-Adrenal axis and the concentrations of the hormone cortisol, which can generate several deleterious effects for the victims. It is also known that many subtypes of maltreatment occur simultaneously, characterizing exposure to multiple victimizations. In addition, other forms of victimization, such as peer and community violence, are highly prevalent in several countries. However, few studies emphasize the relevance of assessing different types of victimization through valid instruments. Similarly, few studies investigates the role and influence of different methods of cortisol measurement in children exposed to maltreatment. In this sense, the objective of this dissertation was to investigate the most used methodologies for measuring cortisol in children victims of maltreatment and to make the transcultural adaptation of the Juvenile Victimization Questionnaire (JVQ R2). For this, a theoretical study of systematic review of methods of measurement of cortisol in abused children and an empiric of cross-cultural adaptation and the beginning of the psychometric examination of the JVQ-R2 were carried out. The review found a homogeneity of methods restricted to saliva samples in studies of the last 5 years. Important gaps have been discussed regarding long-term cortisol measurement. The adaptation of the JVQ R2 has been completed adequately, as well as preliminary examinations of psychometric properties. The full validation of the instrument with all its versions for youth and caregivers is already under way.

When this condition is already instated, it is necessary to act with treatments that bring benefits. The goal of the present dissertation is to report an intervention based on the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as identifying the results on the Psychological Flexibility in people with obesity or overweight. In order to achieve that, the inclusion criteria were being between 18 and 59 years of age, presenting a BMI 25 or above, and having studied at least eight years, The exclusion criteria were the presence of diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Mood Disorders (in active episode), Depressive Disorder (in active episode) and Substance Abuse Disorders. Instruments used: Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21), Binge Eating Scale (BES), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire II (AAQ-II), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire for Weight (AAQ-W), Values of Life Questionnaire (VLQ), Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire - Body Image (CFQ-BI) and Mindful Eating Questionnaire (MEQ). They were applied in three moments: before the intervention, right after the intervention, and five months after the intervention. The present study was done with 39 subjects, ages between 21 and 58, with an average of 40.9. The majority of the participants was single (35.7%) and had a college degree, either completed or not (66.7%). The participants presented a BMI between 25.3 and 51.6, with an average of 34.2 (considered obesity). In section I an experience account with patient illustrations was done. The intensive intervention presented aspects connected to ACT concepts such as experiential acceptance, cognitive defusion, Mindfulness, among others, as well as the use of Matrix diagram and the texting of messages in the weeks following. In section 2 the effects of intensive intervention on psychological flexibility, eating compulsion, depression, anxiety and stress symptoms. Of the 478 people who were interested in participating on the intervention, 181 underwent triage. Of those, 39 participated on the intervention and 29 returned for the segment evaluation. As far as results, a significant difference was found in the increase of experiential acceptance (AAQ?II F10,92; p<0,001; AAQ?W F14,94; p<0,001), in the development of cognitive defusion (CFQ F10,96; p<0,001; CFQ-BI F24,45; p<0,001), increase of consciousness and attention in the eating process (MEQ t=-3,75; p=0,001) and there was no significant difference in the importance of life values and how much they can be applicable in actions (VLQ). There was an expressive reduction on eating compulsion related symptoms. Even though they?re preliminary, the results appear to be promising to for the increase in Psychological Flexibility. From an early age, young athletes? resident in brazilian soccer clubs from different regions of the country and abroad face the process of acculturation, i.e. the transition/insertion into a diverse culture to your depending on the career. The process by which the individual cultural passes on moving to a new place culturally different from his own, has been shown to be of great impact to grip the new reality, and it directly influences the athlete?s performance and life cycle. However, this phenomenon has been little explored and taken into account when assessing the athletes? success and failure on the soccer context, especially in the field of Sport Psychology. Besides coming across very different cultural issues such as food, temperature and values, the athletes face intense routines of workouts interspersed with school activities, being at risk to present emotional distress by being in a new context and have little time to adapt because of high demand related to sports performance in soccer in a short period of time. Goal: To understand the process of acculturation in athletes from the soccer academy, identifying associated aspects and the transition to adulthood and emerging adulthood. Method: Survey of mixed and longitudinal design using a semi-structured interview, sociodemographic questionnaire and six instruments: Social Skills Inventory, Inventory of Dimensions of Emerging Adulthood, Scale of Future Expectations for Adolescents, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depression Scale, Stress Symptoms Inventory. Eight athletes from a soccer acadamey club in the south of Brazil participated in the qualitative research. They were residents at the Club for at least 6 months and aged between 16 and 20 years. Twenty-nine athletes participated in the quantitative stage, considering that all these 29 acculturated athletes filled all the instruments on the admission at the Club but only 21 athletes completed the two subsequent applications, three and six months after their arrival at the Club. Content analysis as well as descriptive and inferential statistical analysis checking frequencies and correlations between variables were used for the data analysis. Results: Although the results do not show significant changes in variables over the three times collected during the six months of the process of acculturation, 63% of the acculturated athletes demonstrated social skills deficits after six months of this process, being the coping factors and self-exhibition the most significant ones. The athletes presented minimal symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress in the process of acculturation. However, significant correlations were found between social skills and selfcontrol of anxiety and depression. According to content analysis (Bardin, 2011), athletes describe points as the arrival at the Club without knowing anyone, the customs of the southern region, temperature, type of training, as well as the distance from home and the family as risk factors for adaptation and that interfere in their sports performance. They also make reference to an increase in the use of new information and communication technologies (ICTS) as WhatsApp for interaction with friends and family. Regarding the acculturated athletes emerging adulthood, they seem to be experiencing this phase, mainly features like ambivalence, exploration of identity and experimenting with possibilities, as being optimistic about what the future holds. In addition, the results show that athletes have prospects that they consider important for their future, especially connected to work, the constitution of a family and their health. Both age and future prospects are the only ones that appear to be significant predictors of emerging adulthood. Discussion: The decrease of social skills and athletes? speech strengthen studies that postulate the fact that the adaptation to a new culture can be a complex process and it can involve risk. Understanding the acculturation process and the challenges faced by athletes upon arrival at a new Club is important for prevention concerning social alienation, the deficits in social skills and sports performance failures. The forming of new links and support networks proved necessary and one of the main strategies used by athletes to face the adversity of the process of acculturation and the sport. Regarding emerging adulthood, the results seem to identify that athletes take on adult responsibilities as supporting a family, as well as freedom of choice and the possibility to experience new situations within a professional field and a romantic one. This occurs before assuming the role of adult accomplishing the dream of building his own family and obtaining professional stability, as they appear in the future prospects of these athletes. These responsibilities and future prospects seems to positively affect the mental health of athletes who do not have high levels of anxiety and depression. In addition, the future prospects were significantly influential to the emerging adulthood.

This is a qualitative, transversal and exploratory study. Data collection was performed from August to October 2016 in eight primary health care units: 1 traditional Basic Health service and 7 services with Family Health Teams (ESF). Research participants were 16 professionals: four physicians, five community health agents and seven nurses. The tool was semi-structured interviews, with a pre-elaborated script by researchers, which addressed issues related to work processes to mental health care. The interviews lasted approximately 40 minutes, which were recorded and transcribed. For data analysis, Thematic Analysis technique was chosen, according to Braun and Clarke. This research presents two articles. The first one aims to analyze the work processes in mental health from the perspective of the professionals of Primary Health Care of Porto Alegre, establishing similarities and differences in practices developed according to the mode of Matrix Support. Results show that the services with matrix support from Family Health Support Center demonstrated greater participation and integration of primary health care teams in mental health practices, and consequently, greater effectiveness and resilience of mental health care for users. The second article aims to analyze the conceptions and meanings attributed to mental health by professionals of primary care. Results show that the perspectives about the concept of mental health approach to the expanded understanding of health. This refers to a shift in the paradigm of mental health, which shows an advance towards an extended meaning of the concept, which reverberates in the consideration of social determinants of health.

The EF play an important role in initial school processes and are an underlying aspect of learning and achieving good academic performance. Consequently, intervention programs have been developed to stimulate executive skills in the school setting. However, few studies focus on psychoeducation and effective training for teachers to stimulate the EF in school. The objectives of this thesis were to identify EF subcomponents and their development in children from 6 to 12 years of age, and to create and analyze the effects of an early and preventive neuropsychological intervention program. The program focused on training educators to stimulate the EF in 2nd and 3rd grade children. The first study explored which factors, as well as which cognitive, executive, and linguistic components are subjacent to performance scores in executive tasks. It also analyzed how children with ages from 6 to 12 years old develop such executive components. The final sample has 109 children with average age of 10.32 years old (SD=1.79) who were assessed through the following EF tasks: verbal fluency, Hayling Sentence Completion Test for children (HSCT-C), narrative discourse (ND), and Bells cancellation test. The results identified a model with three factors: (1) Factor 1: verbal executive component (language, working memory in the discursive process, verbal initiation, and planning); (2) Factor 2: cognitive flexibility and processing speed; and (3) Factor 3: inhibitory control. Age seemed to influence the development of the verbal executive factor, but not the development of cognitive flexibility, suggesting a gradual evolution for the latter. There was an increment in inhibitory control among younger children in comparison to older ones. These results are important to support the elaboration of effective intervention measures that stimulate the EF during childhood, both in clinical and in school settings. The second study presented the development process and content validity evidences of the CENA ? early and preventive neuropsychological intervention training program for educators focused on EF and attention. The development of this program involved three different stages: research and theoretical assumptions (neuropsychology and education), construction of the program and brainstorming sessions with the authors, and expert referee analysis. The CENA was suitable with respect to its objectives, structure, language, and method, presenting evidences of content validity. The third 10 study examined the effect of the CENA on 2nd and 3rd grade children. The final sample had 19 teachers (EG=10 and CG=9) and 64 children (EG=32 and CG=32) who were assessed before and after the completion of the program. In the post-intervention analysis, there was an increase in performance of tasks involving arithmetic skills favoring children in the experimental group, indicating a transfer effect to the school setting. Some EF tasks were better performed by children in the control group. After the intervention, teachers in the experimental group showed greater appropriation of the contents addressed by the program. They also presented an improved ability to observe the executive and behavioral functioning of the children, especially with respect to concepts worked during the intervention (planning, inhibitory control, and working memory). The results of the three studies, in an integrated way, contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge at the interface of neuropsychology and education. They provide insight about both the development of EF subcomponents during childhood and the elaboration of an innovative early and preventive intervention program. Such program went through a rigorous validation and construction process and yielded results that suggest effectiveness. For future studies, the authors suggest the analysis of development curves of executive components with larger samples, and with association of verbal and visuospatial tasks. It is also recommended that the CENA be adapted to other school grades, especially in public schools. The CENA should benefit from a longer period and more systematic methods for execution and evaluation, providing an effective contribution of neuropsychology to education.

The first article, entitled - "Career Transition in Brazilian Adults: A Review of Scientific Production" - covers an national systematic review of the literature aiming to present a systematic review of the Brazilian scientific publication on career transition in adults. Ten articles were selected from three different indexed bases: Science Direct, SciELO and Peri?digos CAPES. The results showed the importance of career planning and of understanding the labor market during the process of career transition in adults. They also indicated that the transition is a moment of reflection and widening of self-knowledge, which requires important decision-making. Finally, results highlight the lack of research in Brazil about this subject, especially about unplanned transitions. The second study, named ?Difficulties and resources of undergraduate students in career transition processes to the job market? aimed to comprehend how the transition from the university to the job market develops, what are the difficulties involved and the strategies and resources used by individuals in transition. Nine interviews were conducted with undergraduate students from several courses, who talked about their expectations, difficulties, resources and perspectives about entering in the job market. The data, submitted to thematic analysis, allowed to identify the difficulties encountered by students who were preparing for graduation and for entering in the job market. Additionally, results show that identification with the areas of interest facilitates decision making, as well as career planning, of students in transition. The third article named "Difficulties and resources of professional adults in career transitions in the labor market", aimed to understand the obstacles during a career transition in the labor market. Also, aimed to understand similarities and differences among different types of career transitions of individuals who are already in the job market, identifying perceived difficulties, as well as strategies and resources activated. Similarly, to Study 2, the author conducted semi structured interviews with nine professionals who were transitioning. Data was submitted to thematic analysis and the results allowed to understand that professionals in transition tend to search for jobs in which they feel more satisfied; they also show that resources such as the 10 support from family and friend is important to cope with a career transition. Lastly, the fourth article, a quantitative method, investigated 268 professionals who were facing a transition or faced a career transition in the last 6 months, who answered an online survey with questions for profile characterization, and questionnaires about the Difficulty in career decision making, and a scale about career concern and career involvement. We performed a Spearman correlation test to evaluate the degree of relationship between the two scales. In addition, we compared the ages of the participants with both of the instruments. The main results show that there is more exploration by young adults than adults already active inside the job market. In addition, it has seems that as the individual ages, there is greater concern with his disengagement in the career. These are the results of the research, presenting the importance of the minicicles. During a career transition, it is essential that the individual recycles his or her career development for the best pursuit of the area of activity that is related to his / her personal interests, opportunities in the market and that offers personal and professional satisfaction.

However, it is among the most used and studied by Psychologists and Psychology Students. In order to contribute to research on this instrument and its usefulness in the psychological evaluation of children, two studies were conducted. The first one, with the objective of searching for Validity and Reliability Evidence of the Clinical Scale of the Draw-a-Person Test (CS DAP), evaluated 423 children from 6 to 12 years old and compared the DAP data with the performance in the CBCL / 6-18. The results shows that CS DAP wasn?t sensitive to identify total problems of behavior, internalizing problems and to differentiate psychotherapy group from the without psychotherapy group. The second study has as its objective identify the DPT indicators according to the specific symptomatology presented by the child. 273 draws from children aged 6 to 12 years were analyzed and the results were compared in CS DPT with the symptoms identified in the behavior assessment questionnaires (CBCL / 6-18 and SDQ). The results support that CS DAP showed adequate ability to differentiate hyperactivity problems in girls aged 6 to 8 years, behavioral problems, social problems and hyperactivity in boys aged 6 to 8 years. In spite of that, the group of 9 to 12 years wasn?t sensitive to discriminate any symptomatology in neither of the genres. Beyond this, it wasn?t possible to find a pattern related to items punctuated according to children's symptoms.
