Разработка проекта строительства культового объекта в процессе редевелопмента промышленной территории : магистерская диссертация / Development of a project for the construction of a cult object in the process of redevelopment of an industrial territory

Структура магистерской диссертации включает в себя введение, три главы, заключение, список использованной литературы, приложения. В работе рассматриваются культовые объекты в качестве бренда территории, а также изучение степени влияния гражданской активности горожан на градостроительные решения. Выявлены социально – экономические проблемы развития выбранной территории, отличающиеся для города миллионника острым дефицитом свободных для строительства земельных участков и необходимости включения механизма редевелопмента. На основе анализа вариантов развития территории предложен девелоперский проект, включающий в себя храм, отличающийся грамотным расположением, что повышает комфортность проживания жителей города. Рассмотрен анализ окружения, варианты размещения. Приводится оценка эффективности проекта по строительству храма, формируется социальная нацеленность проекта, включающая в себя ряд социальных эффектов, а также затронут вопрос самоокупаемости текущей деятельности объекта как некоммерческой организации. В заключении сформулированы основные выводы и обобщены результаты исследования. / The structure of the master's thesis includes an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, bibliography, applications. The work examines cult objects as a brand of the territory, as well as the study of the degree of influence of citizens' civic engagement on urban planning decisions. The socio-economic problems of the development of the selected territory, which are distinguished for the city of a million with an acute shortage of free land plots for construction and the need to include a redevelopment mechanism. Based on the analysis of the options for the development of the territory, a development project has been proposed, which includes a temple, which is distinguished by a competent location, which increases the comfort of living for residents of the city. The analysis of the environment, placement options are considered. An assessment of the effectiveness of the project for the construction of the temple is given, the social orientation of the project is formed, which includes a number of social effects, and the question of the self-sufficiency of the current activity of the object as a non-profit organization is raised. In the conclusion, the main conclusions are formulated and the results of the study are summarized.

Local History Awareness : And its Influence on Young People in a Post-Communist Region

This project explores the impact of a mobile website (MWS) designed to enhance knowledge and interest in local history among residents of Eberswalde as a sample for an Eastern German post-communist city. It aims to strengthen the sense of regional identity and attachment, potentially affecting their decision to remain in or leave the region. The MWS features digitised old postcards, new images, audio memories, short films, and text about historical locations preceding communism in East Germany. Building on previous research showing that interest and engagement in local history can raise, i.a., individuals 'place attachment', 'local identity', and 'regional pride', the research's theoretical frame joins Stefaniak et al.'s (2017), Twells et al.'s (2018) and Pearson and Plevyak's (2020) research outcomes. It groups them into six spheres of effects (SoEs) and reorders them into six individual personal growth dimensions (IPGDs). While the SoEs represent a researcher's bird's-eye view, the IPGDs aim to understand individuals from a frog's-eye viewpoint. The MWS was developed using WordPress with the Divi Editor. A local choir of approximately 35 members critically accompanied the development process, from naming the domain to creating and initial testing a prototype for a location page, which then served as a template for subsequent locations. Subsequently, the MWS was evaluated on-site by five participating local individuals who were not part of the initial testing by the choir members and had at least one family member who experienced the region under communist rule. They were observed during this process, and audio notes were taken. Approximately one to two weeks later, each participant was interviewed using a retrospective semi-structured interview exploring their experiences and any possible perceptual changes regarding their local history. The results show that despite the temporal and scope limitations of the project, the short engagement with local history via the MWS has enriched participants' attachment to the city. It shows further that the worth of local history in this process lies in that sites and monuments of local history are perceived as accomplishments of the local community. This perception fosters an emotional connection and a sense of pride in being part of the locality. In contrast, the presence of natural beauty, as exemplified by the surroundings of Eberswalde, elicits appreciation. Even though nature, not being a human achievement, is admired by participants, it does not evoke the same emotional expressions or pride in belonging to the location. Both are essential for establishing a lasting bond and participation in the city's public and social life.

We argue that intrinsic values have been overshadowed by neoliberal measurable values in Swedish schools. Based on previous research, intrinsic values seem to evolve within pupils in nature. The purpose of this study is to explore social interactions between pupils and teachers in nature and hence explore if pupils tend to practice any intrinsic values important to the social studies subject in upper secondary school. We argue that social studies is about “building society” together and that pupils’ ability to maintain a community, be solidaric and inherently take responsibility are important in this process. Hence, through non-participatory observations, we observe what happens with social interactions among upper secondary pupils and teachers in a national park. A thematic analysis of the empirical data resulted in three themes: responsibility, community, and power. The themes were analyzed through a sociological perspective using concepts such as mechanical and organic solidarity, Gemeinschaft and Gesellschaft, as well as a relational power perspective. We conclude that the common goals formed in nature strengthen community and responsibility while power becomes more symmetrical. Finally, we discuss the professional relevance of the study by suggesting how social studies teachers can take their classroom outside to promote pupils’ inherent willingness to take responsibility and be solidaric.

Los trabajos y procesos que componen dicha investigación se inscriben principalmente en el ámbito de las prácticas en contexto, y presentan especial interés por los relatos, memorias y luchas asociadas a las transformaciones territoriales locales. A través de los proyectos L'Horta, ni oblit ni perdó (2017), Aturem la ZAL, recuperem La Punta (2018), Ara vindran les màquines. Relats subalterns de la València Sud (2018), La Retaguardia (2020) y A hores d'ara. Experiències i memòria de la defensa de l'Horta a través del seu arxiu (2022), esta investigación plantea explorar la capacidad que tienen las prácticas artísticas contextuales y colaborativas de generar rupturas en el relato histórico hegemónico, mediante la producción de dispositivos críticos y situados que posibiliten la visibilización y articulación de memorias subalternas. A phenomenological reflection on integrated learning at a Christian university for community transformation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

This study investigated integrated learning at a Christian university, the Christian Bilingual University of the Congo (UCBC) with the view to improving higher education practice in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) which is tasked with addressing social problems. Higher education in the DRC is shaped by its colonial legacy and a teacher-centred approach focused on theory, typical of a banking-type learning and a lack of integration. These factors stifle critical thinking and initiative in students and prevent them from developing into service-oriented agents for change in their communities. The advent of Christian universities has heralded a quest for holistic training to foster character and produce civic-minded and service-oriented citizens. A qualitative study using a phenomenology as methodology investigated the lived experiences in integrated learning and service in the community of twelve purposefully selected UCBC alumni. Data was obtained through semi-structured, in-depth interviews. Findings indicated that integrated learning is holistic education which engages mind, heart, soul and body; it combines practice and theory in training and prepares students to contribute to national welfare. It occurs in a multiple component and dimensional context and is characterized by learner-centeredness, active learning and constant interaction among the school community members. It is focused on the building of the inner person of the learner. Further, participants understood transformation as part of personal development, a lifelong process that moves a person to act differently in community after his personal assumptions have been deeply revised through his encounter with integrated learning. Its impact is character development as foundation for bold action in the community, the rediscovery of one’s identity, the development of servant leadership, team work and social networking and dependence on God. Findings revealed that transformed learners initiated a change of mentality and experienced culture conversion in their communities through confronting problems and modelling servanthood. It also established the enactment of integrated learning as a contributor to personal and community transformation as a result of students’ ‘echoed words’ and actions as learning-teachers. Three essays on metamorphoses of social capital and associational culture in Eastern Europe

Ce triptyque d’essais présente le caractère versatile et évasif du concept moderne de capital social à plusieurs niveaux – global, national et régional, ainsi que dans le présent et dans le passé. Le premier article conteste l’hypothèse prédominante selon laquelle il y a une cohabitation entre l’engagement civique et la démocratie. Malgré sa validité au niveau général, la relation n’est pas confirmée si les catégories hétérogènes sont désagrégées. Pour les pays post-communistes de l'Europe, la relation entre le type de régime et la tendance de s'associer ressemble à celle des démocraties latines consolidées si la participation dans les associations volontaires est choisie comme mesure de la vitalité du capital social. Par conséquent, la vie civique moins intense ne prédit pas de difficultés pour la démocratie. Le deuxième article est une compilation originale de plus de 100 organisations classifiées selon les standards contemporains et une collection de présentations d'une douzaine d'organisations bulgares, les plus populaires depuis le XIXème siècle. Cette contribution importante à l’historiographie de la vie associative bulgare jusqu’à 1944 est le résultat d'un travail qui combine des entrevues avec des historiens et une recherche dans les archives. Le panoptique organisationnel sert de réfutation empirique de l’hypothèse qui attribue la faiblesse organisationnelle présente du poste-communisme à la pénurie de vie organisationnelle développée par le passé. ii Les mérites du troisième article sont doubles. Au niveau empirique on démontre que l’organisation culturelle la plus importante en Bulgarie a apparu comme une institution nationaliste imitant les organisations similaires des autres pays Européens. Elle s’est développée graduellement par une adaptation des expériences étrangères aux conditions locales. La collection des références bulgares est unique et représente le produit d’un travail méticuleux sur les documents et les entrevues. Au niveau abstrait, on confirme l’applicabilité de la théorie du transfert de la politique publique à un cas historique existant avant la théorie elle-même. Finalement, l’analyse détaillée des précurseurs du cabinet de lecture bulgare représente une contribution à la sociologie politique de l’histoire de la lecture. This invaluable contribution to the historiography of Bulgarian associational life until 1944 is the result of field work which combined personal interviews with historians of the organizations and archival research of original documents. The organizational panopticon serves as an empirical refutation of the hypothesis inferring that present organizational weakness of post- Communism is due to the lack of developed organizational life in the past. The merits of the third article are twofold. On empirical level it is demonstrated that the most important cultural organization in Bulgaria emerged iv as a nation-building institution modeled initially by imitating similar ones in other European countries and later by adapting foreign experiences to the local specific conditions. The collection of original Bulgarian references is unique and it is again a product of meticulous work with documents and personal interviews. On a more abstract level it confirms the applicability of the voluminous and unstructured theory on policy transfer to a historical case existing before the appearance of the theory itself. Last, but not least, the overview of the major European precursors of the Bulgarian reading club represents a modest tribute to the less known field of political sociology of history of reading.
