Fontanive, Paulo Vinícius Nascimento January 2009 (has links)
The Continuos Professional Development (CPD) is an important instrument to guarantee quality of care in Primary Health Care (PHC). The Telessaúde Project objective to evaluate the necessities in PHE and to qualifying the PHC through teleeducation tools and teleassistance. Goals: To evaluate necessities in CPD perceived by medical doctors of the Family Health teams of participant cities of the Telessaúde RS Project. Method: Crosssectional study with census of medical professionals of Family Health Strategy teams (FHS), within 33 cities of the Rio Grande do Sul and Delphi study with professors of disciplines about PHC, preceptores of residences of family practice, researchers, managers and medical professionals of Rio Grande do Sul PHC. Results: The subjects in CPD with major perceived necessity are associates to areas of mental health, cardiovascular disease and others chronic degenerative diseases like Diabetes and Hypertension . We observed fair to moderate agreement (Kappa 0,2-0,5) between the necessities in CPD of Telessaúde Project doctors and the consensus of Delphi Study. The wage satisfaction and the Family Medicine Graduate were associated with major agreement (p< 0,05). Poor agreement was detected between perceived necessities and Hospitalizations for ambulatory care Sensitive conditions (HACSC) more frequent. Conclusion: The Delphi study, consists in a tool of support for conduction of PHE policies. The evaluation of the effectivity of the PHC by through of the HACSC must be enclosed in the process of planning the PHC care. / Telemedicina

Marcas da experiência na formação docente em gênero e diversidade sexual: um olhar sobre o curso \"Gênero e diversidade na escola\" (GDE) / Traces of experience in teachers training on gender and sexual diversity: a look at the program Gender and sexual diversity

Osmar Arruda Garcia 22 May 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the experiences on gender and sexual diversity based on narratives of teachers who attended the training program Gênero e Diversidade na Escola (Gender and Sexual Diversity) GDE. Additionally, I seek to understand the process of commitment to the issue considering the breach of the silence imposed in social, academic and school contexts about gender and sexual diversity. I intend to contribute to the debate about teachers training on gender and sexual diversity by discussing the continuing education offered by GDE. The training was offered twice between 2009 and 2010 to basic education teachers working in both city and state public education networks. In this research I analyze discussions held in forums and memorials written by 30 teachers who attended the course in Jaú São Paulo State, in 2009. Through qualitative research and prose analysis method (André, 1983), this investigation examines traces of experience in gender and sexual diversity revealed by teachers during the course. Based on Jorge Larrosas work (2002, 2011), I investigate GDE teachers training program as an experience, trying to explore the ways this experience constructed teachers commitments to the issue as well as what traces it may have left on their thinking and action abilities. Such traces indicated that teachers looked for this particular course inspired by different desires basically relating to two dimensions of commitment to the issue, the personal and the professional dimensions. Therefore the research indicates that the way each teacher learned the concepts discussed in the course - and transformed his/her subjectivity - was unique and had different levels of intensity. Results show that the process through which teachers consolidate and resignify their own concepts of gender and sexual diversity are contradictory and characterized by breaks, advances or regressions. However, GDE appears to promote the reflection about gender and sexual diversity, pointing out its potential to start off transformation of school practices on these issues.

L'évaluation des pratiques professionnelles, un espace de réflexion à la croisée de la réflexivité et de la délibération éthique : implications pédagogiques en odontologie / The evaluation of professional practices, a space for reflection at the crossroads of reflexivity and ethical deliberation : pedagogical implications in dental education

Denost, Hélène 24 November 2016 (has links)
With the "Hospital, Patients, Health and Territories" (HPST) Act of 2009, the Evaluation of Professional Practices (EPP) has supplemented the continuing education program. It has since become important to question the contribution of the evaluation of professional practices in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), particularly in the field of Dentistry. However answering this question requires us to define continuing professional development. This research tackles two complementary aspects: first, the theoretical and pedagogical implications behind the Evaluation of Professional Practices in dentistry in a continuing professional development perspective; - and, second, the ethical issues implied in the construction of educational projects. The 2009 legislation considers professional development as a training mechanism. In educational research, however, professional development is understood as part of building the identity and skills set of the professional, whereas expected skills and reflective practices are linked to the movement of professionalization in health education. In theoretical and political debates, the notion of evaluation is overlooked or restrained to the "professional act", as well as any reflection on the ethical dimension of the evaluation procedures during the process of professionalization. The lack of established theoretical frameworks has led to an inductive type of research: a theoretical part based on analysis of theoretical writings, and an exploratory component among education officials in charge of initial and continuing education in dentistry. The synthesis of these two parts, beyond the opposition of theory and practice, suggests that a fresh look is needed in relation to the evaluation of professional practices and reflective practice, and puts the complexity of the process of questioning the professional action at the heart of the exercise of medical normativity.

Yrkeslärares erfarenheter av yrkeskompetensutveckling : – En intervjustudie på Industritekniska programmet / Vocational teachers experiences of their continuing professional development : – an interview study on the industrial engineering program

Hedqvist, Petter January 2021 (has links)
Developments in the industrial industry are cutting fast. Machines, processes and factories are becoming both more complex and more advanced. The industry places high demands on those who will work in the industry and it places new demands on the vocational teachers who will train the future workforce. This means that vocational teachers need continuous training and vocational skills development to be up to date with their basic profession and professional identity. The aim was to describe vocational teachers' experiences of and the possibility of continuing professional development within their professional area in the industrial engineering program focusing on product and mechanical engineering. A qualitative research approach was used based on semi-structured interviews (n=4) with vocational teachers on the engineering program. The interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The four informants worked at three different schools, two of which are run entirely municipally, while the third is conducted at a company on behalf of the municipality. In the result, three main categories emerged; Need for continuing professional development, Promoting factors for continuing professional development and obstacles for continuing professional development. The study shows that vocational skills development is important based on the change that is taking place in the industrial industry. Opportunities for professional development are made through, for example, education or external actors, but vocational teachers also experience obstacles to the same as schools usually arrange competence development that should suit all teachers throughout the school or due to tight finances.

Celoživotní vzdělávání zdravotních sester ve veřejněpolitické perspektivě / Continuing Professional Development of Nurses: a public policy perspective.

Syrovátková, Tereza January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with a topic of continuing professional development of nurses in the Czech Republic. The text is divided into two mutually connected dimensions. The first one focuses on a nurse as a stakeholder with certain motivations, strategies, and attitudes. The second dimension discusses the existing system of continuing professional development for nurses in terms of its implementation, form, as well as dysfunctional elements, and future challenges. The thesis shows a connection between the above dimensions. The formalised system of continuing professional development is supposed to affect nursing profession. At the same time, nurses are expected to be involved in the decision-making process. These assumptions are faced with the reality in the thesis. A qualitative study among nurses and experts leads to a conclusion that the current system does not fulfil nurses' both professional (in terms of quality and relevance of the education provided) and personal (financial and time burden) needs. Thus it hardly achieves its original goals. Should the system be changed, the nurses must engage in the decision-making process, which they currently do not. The continuing professional development might serve as one of the solutions to the insufficient political participation of nurses. Despite...

Exploring professional development interventions for improving the teaching practice of primary school teachers

Tembe, Cristina Raul Cesar Augusto 23 April 2012 (has links)
Since the independence of Mozambique in 1975 teacher education and teacher continuing professional development (TCPD) have been a matter of concern for the Ministry of Education (MINED) and teachers. Both the MINED as employer and the teachers individually have permanently been looking for models and ways to upgrade their academic and professional qualifications levels. The constraints faced by Mozambique are similar to those faced by other sub-Saharan African countries since their independence due to the increased pressure for more attention to all levels of education, with particular emphasis on primary education. Although TCPD is usually seen as part of the overall Strategy for Teacher Education (Ministry and Education and Culture, 2004), this scenario privileges initial teacher education since there are many unqualified teachers facilitating learning. The main challenge of this study was to investigate the practices of primary school teachers in Grades 1 and 2 through a participatory action research (PAR) in a study titled Exploring Professional Development Intervention for Improving the Teaching Practices of Primary School Teache. Mixed methods research was used, namely quantitative and qualitative methods. A quantitative method was used during the baseline study which consisted of questionnaires administrated to 1 028 teachers from six provinces in the country. Qualitative research was used with five practitioner-researchers (PRs) in one school. Each PR was approached as a single case study. The findings of this PAR indicate that, on the one hand, the teachers are aware of the need for more academic and pedagogical qualifications, and on the other hand, of the individual responsibility they have. They believe that progression in their careers should be a credible procedure that recognises the TCPD programmes they have attended. The teachers are of the opinion that the MINED should formally recognise the TCPD by allocating credit points to teachers. Although the self-directed professional development (SDPD) model used in this study was time consuming, it has revealed that TCPD can provide effective results when with the appropriate support and follow-up of methods of facilitating the learning of reading and writing skills in Grades 1 and 2. The study involved all teachers appointed to Grade 1 in 2007, and continued with the same teachers until 2010. During this period the teachers were appointed to facilitate learning in Grades 1 and 2. Notwithstanding the fact that the PRs were only from 2 of the 7 grades provided in primary education, the study revealed the advantage of whole school professional development. The study took into consideration the Mozambican school context and calendar. For instance, the PRs were certified by the latest model of teacher education (10+2 teacher education programme) provided by the MINED. In addition, the meetings were carried out during the period scheduled for the planning of pedagogical practices and TCPD programmes. Throughout the study the constant issue that emerged was the need for a paradigm shift in TCPD. Providers of TCPD need to introduce changes in the way they view primary school teachers and confer on them the responsibility for their individual continuous professional development. Action Research could be the new research paradigm used by providers and teachers to improve their work, understand learners’ learning problems and find the appropriate solutions to improve achievement. The findings of this PAR both contribute to understanding the teachers’ views with respect to the TCPD programmes being provided, and offer the option for a new paradigm for TCPD. In this regard the current providers of such programmes can also consider the school principal and the deputy principal as fundamental facilitators of TCPD through a SDPD model. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2011. / Humanities Education / unrestricted

Nyckelord: diagnostisering, dyslexi, fortbildning, kunskap, makt, normer, självbild, stigmatisering, värderingar, åtgärder Susanne Borgfors Handledare: Ingrid Sandén Examinator: Lena Lang / Malmö UniversitySchool of Education, School Development and LeadershipMasters Programme in Special Needs EducationAutumn Term 2008Borgfors, S. The fundamental aim of the study was to examine if the process of diagnosing, and the diagnosis of dyslexia in itself, have affected the informants’ regard of self, study situation and study results. The interviews reflected the significance of attitudes among adults and peers, concerning the informants’ reading and writing difficulties, both before and after the diagnosis. To enable the students’ development of cognition and proficiency, it is of great importance how schools and teachers wield their power when interpreting the principles in the steering documents regarding special education needs. When comparing the interviews with results of earlier research, the lack of knowledge about dyslexia, the importance of normative patterns, attitudes and values in society, the classroom and the individual, with the following risks of stigmatization processes, became evident. The results of the study indicate that the process of diagnosing and the diagnosis itself have had positive consequences for the informants’ concept of self, study situation and study results. The study results also show that the informants fear the ignorance and prejudice of adults and peers. The results suggest that a diagnosis of dyslexia in itself is not stigmatizing to the individual, but confirm that the attitudes and values of others can be so.
